Background colour displaying above graphics layer?

Hi,
I have a canvas, I've set the background colour to blue, and on creation complete am drawing a rectangle using canvas.graphics.
However this displays behind the background colour? Is this correct? I can only see it if I reduce the background alpha but that means I have a blue tint on the rectangle?
Thanks
Tim

private function init():void
mainCanvas.graphics.beginFill(0xffffff,1);
mainCanvas.graphics.drawRect((mainCanvas.width/2),(mainCanvas.height/2),325,208);
mainCanvas.graphics.endFill();

  • Background Colour displays over my flash work

    Dont know what this problem is. I've got a clients game that needs to be handed on Wednesday and cant get any help from my flash tutor because im not in college UNTIL wednesday.
    Anyway for some reason when i test scene the box comes up showing my flash fine but when i go and locate the .SWF in the folder that all my flash fla and swfs are then for some reason its only a graphic clip and movieclip animation that displays and the rest of the background is the background colour. I checked this by first changing it to black and preview. To which the background changed black and then did the same and changed the background colour to blue and the same thing happened, the background in the swf changed to blue aswell. I have no actionscript in the scene and the majority of the things are just art besides a graphic clip the movie clip animation.
    Any help on this would be appretiated. Could be something small i've missed

    Firstly thanks for the fast reply.
    Basically its just a room thats drawn in flash using the brush tool. The only thing that was imported was a screenshot of my computer screen which was used for the monitor screen on the computer in that room. The second thing is just an animation of sparkles. The computer, bedroom, wall, window all dont seem to appear when i load the .swf.
    Here are two images. The first one is of when the box comes up and it looks fine.
    and heres when i load it from the .swf
    You can only see the monitor and the sparkles. But since the background colour is white you wont be able to see the sparkles.

    Hi all:
    How to display smartforms table lines useing different background colour .

    line2:red
    line3:green
    line4:red
    line5:green
    line6:red
    line7:green
    line8:red
    Any help is highly appreciated!!

    Hi,
    Create a two lines one for header and second for data in the table.
    1)In table painter we can find the pencil mark.
    2)select the pencil mark
    3)now select the line which you need to shade
    4) now select the shading colour in the table painter and the provide the resolution up to 100% and select table pattrn for that line.
    5) Now you can use this for the header now only the header gets shaded and the remaining gets unshaded.
    reward points if useful

  • PSE9, how to change background colour?

    Hi
    I was shown how to change the background colour using....and this is where it all goes wrong!!
    I have taken a photo on a hi key background but there are slight colour variations due to shadow. I was shown how you can change the background colour to a consistent white using tool that allowed you to choose black,grey and white point but at this moment in time maybe a bit of bbq alcohol and age are preventing me from remembering how to do this....any ideas, please?
    Cheers

    Enhance<Adjust Color<Remove Color Cast
    Look at image and try to figure out what should be white, gray,or black. Click that area with the color cast dropper. Below is a video showing how to use the color cast tool.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Roinm3J3GjI&feature=player_embedded
    I think from your post that it is safe to assume that you used levels. Basically, you first click on something you know is white with the white dropper; then click on something you know is black with the black dropper; finally find something that is gray and click on it with the gray dropper. Note: You may want to go through and set target colors for the levels droppers to customize how they react. See the written tutorial links at the end of this post.
    Levels is covered at about 5:15 of video in video linked below. Note: It's a Photoshop video. It works the same way in Elements.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLKc61tM5b4
    The above video gives several methods. It is a Photoshop video but several of these methods can be used in Elements. Elements has a color cast tool that is not included in Photoshop so isn't covered in this. Disregard Match Color method and Curves method as Elements does not include  these commands. (This tutorial also mentions using the fade command. Elements does not include this command. You can reduce the opacity of a duplicate layer on which you apply the variations command and use the layer's opacity to "fade" the result. If you go that route.)
    Several Photoshop Elements videos on the subject are here:

  • Forms6i: Item's Prompt background colour

    In Forms 6i item's prompts are being displayed with the background colour of the item, instead of the canvas. In the previous version of forms, the prompts displayed with the same background colour as the canvas.
    This only happens when the forms is run as client/server. If run as a Web form it does not.
    Is there a way around this problem?
    Is this a bug in Forms 6i?

    OK - my initial problem was I installed 6i on top of a 6.0.5 version. This made the graphics go haywire. Installing PATCH 7 in this was also didn't quite work (I suppose it depends on what you had installed for 6.0.5). I removed Oracle entirely - installed 6i and I only got the inverse labels problem. I then installed PATCH 7 and it worked fine. Oracle have told me that it's "Not a good idea" to install PATCH 7 over 6i and wouldn't recommend mucking around with .dll files. We are now backtracking to 6.0.5 and waiting for 6i's first patch before moving on with this software. Hope some of this helped.

  • Video and Graphics  Layer

    i want to display an video in the background and some images and text in the graphics-layer?
    plze help to seel the Video and Graphics Layer to be transparent in order to see the Video?
    thanks&regards
    vipin

    Do not use timelines as menu transitions. Timelines are placed in a different physical location on the disc, often times AFTER your main video. So when you are on the menu, the laser is reading in one spot of the disc, then for the transition, it might have to seek all the way to the other side of the disc, causing delays and possible blackness while is searches.
    For my Pro Motion Menu Kits which incorporate advanced motion menus created in after effects, I use a different process.
    For the intro sequence, you obviously can't use a menu transition as there is nothing to transition from. The better method is to use a MENU as the intro sequence. Create a blank menu and set the intro animation as the motion background. Set it's end action to the main menu, and make sure you configure it to not loop. This will physically place the intro video with the other menus on the disc when it is built, and minimize any delays caused by seeking.
    As for the transition, you can use the menu transition feature of encore. With the button selected, go to the transition tab under properties and set it to your transition animation asset. You can only select a single asset, so a good way to include audio with the transition is to create an after effects composition with the audio and video, then import it into encore as a dynamic linked asset, and use it for the transition.
    If you want a complete walkthrough tutorial on how to set all this up in encore, I have created one for my Pro Motion Menu Kit products. It is freely available to anyone from the tutorial section of my site, and even if you aren't using my products, it can still be extremely helpful in how to implement custom motion menus using intros, moving backgrounds, and transitions that all seamlessly flow together.

  • Changing Background Colours

    I am in the process of writing a package and want the end
    user to be able to pick their own background colour (Within reason)
    For my sins I used the getfileproperty and setfileproperty
    whilst writing the package but they don’t work with a
    published package.
    I have also tried drawing a box and changing that colour, but
    would still prefer to change the package background colour.
    How do you change the background colour?

    If I remember right there's no way to change this at runtime.
    Only solution
    I can think of is your box in the background idea, setting
    the box to a
    layer that will keep it below anything else. Also you need to
    attach a
    calculation to the display that sets movable:=false

  • How to see the foreground and background colour without those sliders?

    I've always found the Color Panel really annoying. A lot of space is taken up by those sliders, and I hardly ever use them.
    Is there some way to hide the sliders, or—better still—put the foreground & background colours on the control panel? Shouldn’t the colours be on the control panel by default, always there in the corner?
    I wonder how most people view the foreground and background colour? Does Adobe seriously expect users to have the large Color Panel constantly displayed (along with its rarely-used sliders), or perhaps we’re all expected to have the Tools Panel constantly open even though it only contains basic tools that most people know the shortcuts for?
    Or is there some other way to see the foreground and background colours?
    Or do most users not need to know what the foreground and background colours are?

    Too big, i guess you don't remember the color palettes from ps 1 and ps 2.
    You might want to look at configurator to make a smaller panel that just shows the
    foreground/background color chips.

    I have two layers, one for a background image linked to a photoshop document and another layer for text. When i add drop shadow to the text, the background colour goes sort of dark, and the same happens in overprint view whereas with 5.5 it didn't do that. Is there a way to fix this?

  • How to change the page Header background colour in a Theme

    Hello,
    I want to know how to change the page header background colour. If you are in the Editor I don't find a property where to change it.
    If you are in the Theme Editor in the header bar I want to change stands <b>Theme Editor</b>. This (in my case blue colored bar) I want to change in another color.

    Hello Radhika,
    thanks for your answer. Where do I find the option for the pageheader in System Administration>Portal Display>Theme Editor ->IView Trays exactly?
    The pageheader is a picture, which must be uploaded for the web dynpro. Why should any webdynpro element in the ivew tray. There is no relationship between these two parts.
    I have not found any option to change the web dynpro pageheader. Could there any extra theme editor for webdynpro?
    Thanks.

  • A problem changing applet's background colour

    Hi there,
    I'm hoping somebody can help me with what I believe to be a problem I have in changing the background colour of an applet, the source code of which is posted below. If super.paint(g); is commented out, the background of the applet will be changed to whatever colour is specified, however if it is not the background will remain grey. As I understand though, super.paint(g); should be part of the program. What am I doing wrong? Should super.paint(g); in this example be part of the program?
    Before posting this I searched the forums and looked at some of the Q's & A's about changing an applet's background colour but am non the wiser.
    Thank you for your help.

    quotient = (userInput1 / userInput2);

    g.drawRect(10,10,250,100); // Draw a rectangle 250 pixels wide X 100 pixels high to enclose the rest of the program's output
    //Dispaly the results of the calculations to the user
    g.drawString( "The numbers entered are " + userInput1 + ", " + userInput2, 25, 25);
    g.drawString( "The sum is " + sum, 25, 40);
    g.drawString( "The product is " + product, 25, 55);
    g.drawString( "The difference is " + difference, 25, 70);
    g.drawString( "The quotient is " + quotient, 25, 85);

    You could try defining
    public void update(Graphics g) {
        paint(g);
    }That's the only difference I see between your code and my applet code. If that isn't it, you could try getContentPane().setBackground(...) but I don't know how that could make much difference (I would think that the content pane is transparent...)
    Another possibility is that, if you're using Swing, you probably shouldn't be overriding paint() and should stick to the paintComponent() method or whatever is appropriate.

  • Changing background colour of W995 (when you don't have wallpaper)?

    Hello,
    If i set my phone to have no wallpaper the background colour for the main screen is grey.  Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does anyone know how to change this to black?  I think it was black to start with but somehow it got changed and I can't see a straightforward way of setting it back to black using the Display options because on my phone (W995) there is option here for colour change.
    Many thanks for any help anyone can offer

    What I really want to do is to set the background to black, then have a picture that i've taken in landscape as my wallpaper.  Because it's in landscape some of the background is still seen at the top and bottom and i want this to be black rather than grey.  I'm sure it was before, I just find it crazy that it has changed and there is no easy or obvious way to change it back - especially as the default setting must have been black.  I tried doing a reset of setting but it still came up as grey, even though I had to reset the time and date and so on.
    I wish they just had a menu so you could select a background colour, but it seems that doesn't exist.  Sorry to be seeming so difficult, because I appreciate your suggestions - I should have explained before that it isn't so much that I want a black wallpaper as a black background to put an image on top of as wallpaper.

    I am a Uni student and study from home. I have to print my lecture notes (always in PDF) so i can follow with the lecture online. But the tutor always uses a bright colourful background which looks great but sucks the ink out of my printer. How do i change the background colour of the pdf's she makes us print off to white to save on ink?

    If the background color is a layer, try the following
    click View | Show/Hide | Navigation Pane | Layers
    use the Layers pane to hide the background color

    How do you change the slide background colour in the keynote app?

    You can't (not in Keynote for iOS). The background color is a function of the template selected when you create the file initially and cannot be altered. the only workaround I know of is to add a graphic file to the slide and position it behind all other content, but this would need to be repeated on any slide you wish to "recolor".
