Background job ABORTED in ECC
Hi,
I am working for an upgrade project. We have a program in 4.7 which start background job using the FM: JOB_OPEN and submit7 standard programs with variant using FM: JOB_SUBMIT. Please find the program details below.
1. RMCP6FLS
2. RMCP6RES
3. RMCA9026
4. RMCP6BIN
5. RMCP6RES
6. RMCA9026
7. RMCP6BIN
After this close the job using FM: JOB_CLOSE and find the job status using the FM SHOW_JOBSTATE.
For the same variant it is working fine in 4.7 but in ECC FM SHOW_JOBSTATE aborted = 'X'.
Thanks and Regards
Joby Jacob

Trigger Workflow for Background Job Abort
Hi,
I want to start a workflow when a Background Job fails.
I could find the BOs BPJOB & BPJOB_SMAN and the event BPJobSchedMan.Aborted, but it is not getting triggered when a background job cancelled.
Let me know if any specific settings need to be made.
Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
Rgds,

Background job failing - ECC 6.0, Solution Manager 7.0
Dear All,
Four days back, I have installed the Solution Manager 7.0 and ECC 6.0 on
HPUX IA64 hardware with database as Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 (Unicode).
In both server, latest kernel patch has been applied.
The Support package versions are (both server):

SAP_BASIS 0014
SAP_ABA 0014
PI_BASIS(2005_1_700) 0014

SAP_BW 0016
While checking the the jobs from SM37, in both the server,
I am observing that following jobs are always failing with
same reason:

Hello All,
I have a requirement to send/export the background job spool in Excel (in MHTML format) in ECC 6.0. Please help.
Thank you.
NaliniHi Jigar,
Thanks for your response.
Anything is like download to desktop or email is fine. But in MHTML format.
We can download the ALV report in MHTML spreadsheet format when we run the program online. But the program is running for long time and going to dump.
So i scheduled it as background job and downloading the output in .HTML format. But user wants the spool/report output in .MHTML spreadsheet format.
I can write the code. Instead of changing the existing program I would like to know is there any way (from standard SAP) that I can get the background spool in MHTML spreadsheet format.
Thanks,
Nalini -
Monitoring of File in FTP Server generated by background job in ECC system
Hi,
There is a background job in ECC system, which generates a file in FTP server. However the issue is that even if the background job is successfully executed, there are instances where the file is not generated in FTP server. Is there any way by which we can monitor such file in FTP Server?
Regards
Nishu ShahHi,
I guess this is not a solman question. Anyway, how do you perform the FTP?? custom code?

MDMGX download to ports as background job without FTP?
Hello everybody,
is it possible to use MDMGX as a background job to download directly into the mdm ports without FTP?
If I try to download as a local download (in background job) I get the error message: "Cannot open dataset for batch download of file: No such file or directory. Message no. MDM_GX_MSG031"
Any advice?
Regards,
AxelHello Alex,
As said in the above post MDMGX is used to extract the reference data from ECC. This data can be extracted to the local system as well. You need to specify the FTP server and MDM Root of the system on which the MDM server is Installed, by doing so the data extracted will be placed in the respective folders created under the given root in MDM. PI is not required for this since the output is in the required XML format
Please go through the below link

Hope this helps

Sending of email triggered in a background job ends with error.
Hello all,
I have created a API which triggers mail to a distribution list using class CL_BCS. When i execute this API in foreground it works fine and the mails are triggered.
However i am calling this API in a report which will scheduled as a background job in my application and this job executes for some 5 to 6 hours and after that i trigger the mail. However at this point the job gets cancelled due to an abort message raised in
one of the CL_BCS methods.
The method is cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address which is called in my API and internally this calls many other methods. The abort meessage is thrown from the method instantiate_imp_class of class CL_EXIT_MASTER.
The ST22 log reads like this:
Runtime Errors: LOAD_SWITCHSTATES_MISMATCH
Short text: Current switch statuses are incompatible with program switch statuses.
What happened?
The current switch statuses that are read for the execution of the
program "CL_IM_CVI_ADDRESS_UPD_IMPL====CP" are incompatible with the switch
statuses with which the
program "CL_IM_CVI_ADDRESS_UPD_IMPL====CP" was generated at the time
20090902114544.
Any advice would be greatly helpful.
Warm Regards,
Naveen MHi!
How you determine sender (method set_sender) ? if you use current user, when it runs on background use a backgorund user and it maybe can not determine an email.
Try force a sender (harcode your user for test when sy-batch eq 'X')
If it works, you need to determine the user to be used on jobs to solve this problem.
I hope it helps

Dear All,
We have a background job, which will execute a z program. The out put of Z program will be sent as a mail to the recipient listed in "Spool list recipient" (SM36).
We did unicode conversion and upgrade to ecc 6.0.
Even now background job send the out put to mail, but when we open the attached html file in the mail which contains the out put, it displaying with junk characters.
Out put looks like " æ¼â¾â¼¼ã¹¢â¼¼æ½¦ç®ã° "
Your help will be highly appriciated.
Thanks and regards

Save Report Output to a PDF File
This report takes another report as input, and captures the output of that report. The output is then converted to PDF and saved to a local file. This shows how to use some of the PDF function modules, as well as an easy way to create PDF files.
One thing I am not thrilled about is how the spool number is retrieved. If anyone has any better method, please let me know! Until I actually have a production use for a program like this, I will not try to find a better way.

Hi All,
Background job related info. not getting retrieved when using function module 'SAPWL_READ_STATISTIC_FILES' (version SAP ECC 5.0 compatible) in our SAP ECC 6.0 whereas if I use 'SWNC_STAD_READ_STATRECS' I'm getting the required info.

Periodic background job scheduling
Hello fellow SDNers,
I have a background job which has to run periodically. So I schedule it in SM36 to run after every 10 minutes and it executes without a problem. However, I have a scenario which requires that the next execution of the job should happen only after ensuring that the first one is not active (either it should have finished execution or aborted with error).
I need to understand the options available to handle this. Of course there is an option of writing another program to handle these jobs dynamically using JOB_OPEN, JOB_SUBMIT etc. or to create an event and trigerring it through another program and setting the job to run after this.
Is there any other option/setting available which can save me from the programming effort (which i wish to keep as my last resort to handle this)?
Any pointers are appreciated!!
-Priyank`hi,
u hav after event in dat select--> sap_end_of_job

Error in Control Framework: Background job failed
Hi Experts,
One background job failed with job log: Error in Control Framework in ECC 6.0 system; the job is supposed to produce a XML report. Can anyone please give some idea on this why it could happen? One SAP note 893534 has described same kind of issue but in CRM system. That note even cant be implemeneted in ECC 6.0. Any workaround? Is it a BASIS issue here?
Thanks & Regards,
SKBHello,
please check the variant. We had this problem, and when checking the variant I got a shortdump because the variant did not fit to the program (there were problems with subscreens in the selection screen). After adjusting the variant with program RSVARDOC_610 the variant was ok.
I can not check if this solved the problem because the job runs weekly, and the next job is on Monday. But give it a try...

Background Job spool / output file in different app server
We are working with 2 ECC app servers, A and B.
I've defined in app server A a background job to run an abap report and this report creates and submit 4 other background jobs.
Each of these 4 jobs is regarding an abap report which outputs a text file in the server.
The question is, why are the jobs generating the files in different app servers randomically?
The same file, in the 1st execution was generated in app server A, and without any change was generated in app server B, in the job 2nd execution?
Thank you!Hi,
You can specify server name whille creating a batch job , so that it gets executed to that server only.
there is one field (in SM36 during creation or SM37 while modifying batch job) called "Exec Target " , where you can specify server name.
Hence you can plan to run your some batch jobs on server A or B.

hi all,
i am working on ECC6.0.
i am not able to find the path to delete background job completly.
can any body give me the navigation for the same in ECC6.0
Thanks in advancehi
hopen ths wll help
To delete a background job explicitly, use:
BP_JOB_SELECT to obtain the jobname and job number of the job that you wish to delete.
You can select jobs according to all of the criteria available in the interactive background processing management system:
Jobname: Using a well-planned naming convention for your jobs will help you to select them precisely.
Job number
Name of the user who scheduled a job
Specifications for the start-time window/no start time scheduled
Start dependent upon predecessor jobs
Start dependent upon an event and event argument
Job status (preliminary, scheduled, ready, running, finished, aborted).
BP_JOB_DELETE to delete the job. The job log is deleted as well, if the job has already been run.
A job cannot delete itself. Also, a job that is currently running cannot be deleted. However, you can have it deleted automatically if it is completed successfully. See the DELANFREP parameter of JOB_OPEN.
Sample Program: Deleting a Background Job
Data declarations: BP_JOB_SELECT
DATA JSELECT LIKE BTCSELECT.
DATA SEL_JOBLIST LIKE TBTCJOB OCCURS 100 WITH HEADER LINE.

JOBSEL_PARAM_OUT = JSELECT

SELECTION_CANCELED = 2

In this example, the program loops over the internal table

Alternative: Have the user select the job to be deleted
with BP_JOBLIST_PROCESSOR. For an example, please see
Sample Program: Wait for Predecessor Job with JOB_CLOSE.

FORCEDMODE can be used without fear of causing problems in the

resolved directly in the TemSe system and does not require the
job header.
