Background Music continuously on Flash Page

Hi Everybody
I'm working on my first Flash page. So be patient with me pls! It's pretty much done and looks good but everytime I click crtl+enter to test the page it only plays the first couple seconds of the music over and over again! :/ Any ActionScript code for this???
I will insert this flash file into an html in dreamweaver. I need the music to go continuously even when I switch pages. The index page will have the flash file on it and it's gonna have 3 buttons what takes you to 3 different html pages (which will have my portfolio on). Is it possible for the music to play even on those pages too?
I know I had a loooooot of different questions at the same time. Can somebody give me some smart advices?
THANK U a lot!

import your sound file into your main fla and assign a linkage id (eg, soundID) by right clicking the library sound>click properties>tick export for actionscript>assign the name in the linkage id field and click ok>ok.
then attached to frame 1 of your fla, use:
var sound:Sound=new Sound(this);
sound.attachSound("soundID");
sound.start(0,999);  //loops 999 times. use more, if needed.

  • Background music continues to play when app exited

    I just had a review of one of my apps from amazon on the kindle fire and the result came back saying:
    Upon completion of our compatibility test processes, your app was found to be unresponsive when subjected to testing. To be compatible with Kindle Fire, the app’s core features must be responsive to user commands, and its primary functionality accessible and compliant with device specifications. Currently, the background music of the app continues to play even when the app has been exited.
    to get my background music to loop I use this code
    import flash.media.SoundMixer
    var musicplayed:int = 0;
    var MusicPlayer:Sound = new Music();
    var songChannel:SoundChannel;
    songChannel = MusicPlayer.play();
    function loopMusic(event:Event)
      songChannel = MusicPlayer.play();
              songChannel.addEventListener(Event.SOUND_COMPLETE, loopMusic);
    any idea whats wrong? It doesn't have this issue on iOS

    Hi, I'm developing an app for android, and added the event handlers for Deactivate and Activate to turn the music off or on. It is working if I press the home button but if I set the device on sleep (idle) and then turn it on, the Activate Event is triggered in the unlock screen. So the music starts on the unlock screen, this is very frustrating because I just had an app rejected on Samsung Apps Store because of this issue .
    <Defect>
    The application reproduces sound in the unlock screen.
    <Procedure>
    1 Start the app
    2 Lock the device
    3 Press the device's hold button without fully sliding to unlock
    4 Notice that the application's audio is playing
    <Expected Result>
    The application should not reproduce sound untill after the device is fully unlocked.
    Anyone here that knows a workaround for this problem?

  • Background music continuous play when navigating through website

    Hello,
    I managed to get some background music playing on my website referencing another thread, however I would like the music to play continuously when you navigate through the website.
    Also, is it possible to add a sound on/off button somewhere without the full player?
    The site is built in Muse and this is the html code I used:
    <audio src="http://filename.mp3" autoplay loop></audio>
    and Here is my website:
    http://metropoli.businesscatalyst.com/
    Any answers are appreciated! Thanks!

    You're not alone!
    I realized the problems with the ipod nano 6th generation when i got myself one of these little toys and tried to get it running in my Ford Focus (build 2010) using the AUX-input of the car.
    Same problems with the static noise, no matter which cable i tried. But I ignored it then, because I usually use the iphone 3gs I have in my car for music and navigation (via AUX-input and headphones) without any problems.
    But that forgotten incompatibility-problem between ford aux-port (I have a CDS6000 radio) and iPod nano 6G just reappeared when I tried my new iphone 4s in the car. Just the same **** as with the ipod nano 6g.
    My guess is, that  apple replaced the earphone-sockets with some other components with the newer built devices (2nd half of 2010 and newer).
    So I've just ordered an adapter from apple-dock to AUX. I hope that helps, but I don't understand, why just Ford has this problem. I've tried the same cable with the iPod Nano 6G and iPhone 4S with my logitech speakers (using the headphone-socket) without any problems.
    If anybody has a clue why this happens, or what changed between the ipod/iphone generations regarding the headphone-socket, I'd like to know.
    thanks in advance

  • Background music on some web pages not playing. Why?

    background music on web site below plays in internet explorer, but not in mozilla firefox
    web page below.

    Kindly resolve.

    That web page tries to play a midi file (town2.mid) via BGSOUND.<br />
    If a website uses BGSOUND then it will only work in IE.<br />
    BGSOUND is not compatible with other browsers like Firefox.<br />

  • How do I find and save the background music file of my Flash site?

    I see that the background music in my Flash site is located in a symbol called muz.  When I click the properties of this symbol, the sound file's location is listed as .\flash\sound\muz.wav  I couldn't find that sound sub-folder in the flash folder nor could I find the file.  I tried doing a search to look for the muz.wav file in my computer but it could not be found.  Does anyone know how I can find and save this file?  Can the symbol somehow be exported and the sound file be extracted that way?

    I copied and pasted the symbol into an empty .fla file.  This new .fla file is just 1 frame.  Can you tell me what you mean by "spreading" it along the timeline?  When I tried exporting it to a .wav file (as just 1 frame in timeline), I only hear a fraction of a fraction of the first note of the music in the generated .wav file.  The music is heard fine in its entirety when previewing the .fla file (F12).
    By the way, in the symbol's properties, there is an option to "Export for ActionScript" and an option to "Export for runtime sharing".  Do you think any of these would work?

  • Adding Background music to welcome page on Iweb.. any ideas? instructions?

    looking to add background music to my welcome page on iweb. any easy instructions? thanks daniel malibu

    Take a look at my page "source" code for some clues.
    Editing published pages is as easy as opening the "raw" html code in TextEdit (preferences set to "plain" text) and applying your edits (copy/paste simple).
    But once you edit these pages any changes made by the iWeb application and a new "publish" would remove your hand edited code.
    To change what appears in your "Title" would only require you edit that line of code. To add metatags is the same.
    The "snippet" part of iWeb 2 is always in the "body" part of the page code. Title and custom icons are part of the "head" tag code. Javascript code could be in even more parts depending on its function.
    None of this is for the faint of heart or for those that don't understand the basics of html page code.
    Open your published iWeb 2 page with a text editor and edit the "title" tag code to change the displayed "name". To add a custom icon requires you upload a 16X16 image file (the size of the icon in the browser address bar), upload that file to your server and then use that URL in the edited html code for your page. These are part of the "head" tag code.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there a way to mute the background music in a slideshow so the audio of an included video can be heard?

    I am running iPhoto 11 version 9.4.2 (710.42) on a MacBook Pro.  Some of the slide shows I have developed have videos included along with photos.  I have added background music to these slide shows with the sideshow music selector.  The videos have audio that I want the viewer to hear, however the background music continues to play and the video audio is hard to hear, and when there is music in the audio of the video, the two musical pieces tend to clash. Is there a way to mute the background music so the audio of the video can be clearly heard?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    That's called 'ducking' and no, not with iPhoto. You need something with more control of the soundtrack.
    Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
    iMovie, on every Mac sold.
    Others, in order of price: PhotoPresenter  $29
    PhotoToMovie  $49.95
    PulpMotion  $129
    FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
    Final Cut Pro X $299
    It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs. However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Pro X is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

  • Playing background music across all pages in an application

    I want to have background music playing as people use my application but I want to give them the option to turn it off. My solution is to have a button on my homepage that the user clicks to start background music. The code that launchs the music and a small player is placed on page 29 in an HTML region: e.g.
    <embed src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#wakingdreams.mp3" autostart="true" loop="true"
    width=200 height=60 controls="smallconsole" > </embed>
    This allows the user to stop or pause the music using a little player. My solution is to have the control in a small window in the corner but... If I use this code on the button that launches the player
    javascript:popupURL('f?p=&APP_ID.:29:&SESSION.');
    I don't know how to resize the player window so that most of my home page is visible and easy to navigate to.
    If I use the following code on the launch button then my home page window is blank with the word "[OBJECT]" stuck in the left top corner but the player and it's window is the correct size.
    javascript:window.open('f?p=&APP_ID.:29:&SESSION.'
    ,'DFK','height=35,width=70,toolbar=no,menubar=no,scrollbar=no,resizable=no,location=no,directories=no,minimize=no,maximize=no');
    any suggestions one way or the other?...or is there a simpler solution?
    any help appreciated
    regards
    Paul P

    Paul,
    Using
    javascript:popUp2('f?p=&APP_ID.:29:&SESSION::NO:::', 200, 200);
    will size the pop-up window to whatever you want. Can you not use frames instead?

  • Preventing looped background music on home page from re loading from another page

    Hi guys,
    My problem is that I have background music playing on my home
    page that loops (intentionally), but when I click back on to the
    home page from any of the other pages on my website, the background
    loop starts again from the beggining and ends up playing on top
    (compunding) on the original music from the initial home page. How
    do I prevent this from happening? I am using Dreamweaver 8.

  • Play sound clip as background music while other animation continues? (InDesignCS5)

    BACKGROUND: I'm creating an invitaion with simple animation in InDesignCS5 that will be exported as a swf and html file to be played on the web.
    I've inserted an MP3 file that "plays on page load."  I've got several other items (text) animated that also "plays on page load" but the timing panel has them in a certain order. I've placed the MP3 file on the top of the timing list, as I want it to start first.
    PROBLEM: The sound clip plays all the way through before allowing the other animations to start.
    I tried to group the sound clip with other animations in timing panel (using "play together"), but that ruins the order for everything else.
    I tried to "Loop" the sound to see what happens, and on the second time it plays, the rest of the animation occurs... just like I wanted.....But not until it starts to loop the sound, which I don't want to do.
    Any suggestions for having the sound play as background music to my entire swf file?

    Hello there,
    in order for a sound to play together with other animations you need to put the sound on top of the sequence AND group all animations together with the sound. You can then add delays to the animations if you want them to display in a sequence and not at the same time. If you need more than a single sequence (eg. two audio files speaking in the same slide) you can then add another separate group of audio+animations.

  • Everytime I open a new tab I have unwanted background music playing. win 7 64 Firefox 32.0.3

    Idiotic system requires me to become a member? only thread does not post a solution to stop annoying background music when opening a new tab.
    How do I stop whatever is causing background music to play when I open a new tab in Firefox 32.0.3?
    I do not have any add ons....

    Update Flash and Silverlight:
    Version 5.4.2.18903
    Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0
    5.1.30514.0
    Also may want to reset Firefox just in case there is an issue with changed preferences.
    If that is not the case I also recommend a malware scan.
    Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
    You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

  • Background Music Best Practice

    Hello all,
    New to the community and fairly new to Flash and Actionscript. I would like to know what's the best practice you add a background music to my page with play/stop buttons when using SWFobject?
    I have seen a ton of tutorials on externally loading songs in, but in a recent project in class, when importing a SWF into a pre-written HTML code, the sound does not start even with the song in the same folder. I would like to know if there is a way to fix this or do anyone have an example of how to do this with embedded sound instead?

    Ok so maybe this is me being a Newb and not phrasing this question right or maybe I'm just not seeing your picture, but I'm not saying SWFObject has anything to do with sound. From what I have experienced, it takes your SWF and generate a wrapper/div for it to be shown/hosted in the html site. Now with Flash they also publish an html, and from my experience it doesn't work as well as SWFObject on browser support.
    Ok so the thing is I'm sure if I create a background sound loaded externally and publish with Flash and bring that html into dreamweaver the sound works, but what about doing it with SWFObject? I had an assignment and the sound worked when tesing the swf alone, but when I gave my team member the swf to add to her pre coded html in dreamweaver, everything worked but the sound. And yes the sound files were included when she received them. Hope this help you understand my problem. If not, I will do an external script again and try to host it, if the sound doesn't work I will post the code.

  • Pop-up error on flash pages

    My OPS - Windows XP SP2
    My Browser - IE Explorer 6
    My ISP - Road Runner High Speed
    My Macromedia Flash Player Version - 8.0.24.0
    ISSUE:
    I am receiving a small popup error as certain web pages that
    use flash are loading up ... not all flash pages, but some,
    including my homepage which is "www.rr.com"
    The popup appears briefly, only as the page is being loaded,
    and it reads as follows ... "Press SPACE BAR or ENTER to activate
    and use this control"
    After a second or two the page is fully loaded and the popup
    quickly disappears, however there is a broken-lined box which
    surrounds the flash section of the page and if I enter that section
    {flash} with my cursor I receive a similar message which reads ....
    "Click to activate and use this control"
    Only if I left click my mouse or hit SPACE or ENTER on my
    keyboard can I access the flash sections of said page ... so for
    example, if I were attepmting to access a flash link on said page I
    would need to left click twice, once to "activate and use the
    control" and one to access the link ... or I could hit my SPACE BAR
    or ENTER prior to clicking the flash link and then it will be
    activate, thus only one left click on the link will suffice
    I have also encounted this same popup at the mcafee homepage
    ... us.mcafee.com ... when I push my cursor into a flash section of
    the page I receive the same small popup, "Click to activate and use
    this control"
    I have been a flash user for quite some time, on this very
    same PC, same OPS, same Browser, same ISP, and I've even had the
    updated version of flash player for at least a month {8.0.24.0},
    yet this trouble has appeared out of the blue only two days ago and
    I cannot fix it
    I have tried a number of fixes ... I have even used the
    uninstall utility for flash player as provided by your website, and
    uninstalled my browser, then reinstalled both to no avail, same
    issue continues to occur on certain flash pages {but not all},
    including my homepage
    PLEASE HELP
    Thanks You,
    Dobermite

    Here's the fix!!
    Change your flash objects(embed) to external files that use
    javascript to write the tag. Like so
    var oeTags = '<object classid="clsid
    27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0"
    width="812" height="565" >'
    + '<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain"
    />'
    + '<param name="movie" value="dyna_main.swf"
    /><param name="quality" value="high" /><embed
    src="dyna_main.swf" quality="high" width="812" height="565"
    allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    />'
    + '</object>';
    document.write(oeTags);
    name the page whatever.js
    on you htm page include it with a script tag, like so
    <script src="/whatever.js"></script>
    It works

  • Safari not displaying certain icons and background music while viewing

    I'm new to Mac OS.
    I tried to view a website I used to visit but the 27" iMac wouldn't display certain icons and the background music when Windows 7 could.
    I recalled when I was in the Windows 7, the internet Explore brought down a small yellow bar from the top page asking me whether I'd like to install the ActiveX so that the site can play back the backgound music, java script and so on.
    I downloaded and tried the Google's Crome and the Firefox browsers but they were the same as the Safari.
    Is there a remedy for it?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    HI,
    If you could post a link to the site it would help.
    From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari / Preferences and select the Security tab.
    Where you see: Web content: Make sure the top 3 buttons are checked. Relaunch Safari and try that site.
    If you would take a moment and click My Settings on the right side of this window and tell us which Mac OS X version your iMac is running and which version of Safari, that helps us trouble shoot for you. Thanks!

  • Has there been any change in FF21 and newer regarding background music file playing?

    Access this URL : http://www.mamarocks.com/cats.htm in FF20 lets the background music associated with it play. However, accessing the same URL in FF21 and newer results with the webpage being displayed but the music associated with it does not play. Microsoft Windows Media Player plugin is installed but is not selectable from the file type play selection. The Quicktime Player plugin is also installed. Selecting that or Windows Media Player to handle midi files has no effect on the behavior. I don't believe the plugins are at fault but rather something in how Firefox handles background file use that has changed.
    I have done searches on the Internet and found numerous reports of this problem. Please look for yourself and decide if there is a problem or at least tell us how to fix this situation.

    That is a midi file (Content-Type: audio/mid), so you need a plugin that can handle this MIME type (see the about:plugins page).
