Background Task running under initiator not under WF-BATCH

Hi All,
I am trying to resolve a problem with a Background task running under intiator. Since the initiator does not have authorization to execute the task, it is not working.
My understanding was, all background tasks will run under WF-BATCH!!. Is it correct?. in 4.7, it is working this way.
However in ECC 6.00 the background task before the first dialog work item is executed under 'intiator' in this case. I have moved the same task after first dialog work item, and it was executed under WF-BATCH.. I cannot move the task after the dialog workitem as the task need to be executed immediatly after the creation of workflow.
1. How can I run the task in backgroud under WF-BATCH?
2. Inside the task, I am running a BDC to update a flag in downpayment transaction created using F-47. How can I run the process under batch user to overcome the authorization issue that initiator will not authorization.
I am running this workflow in SAP ECC 6.0 level 13
Any help is really appreciated..

This issue can be resolved with triggering the event using the additional flag export parameter 'CREATOR' in function module ''SWE_EVENT_CREATE_FOR_UPD_TASK' as WF-BATCH. I was not passing this parameter and hence it didn't work in ECC 6.0 as it take who ran the process as creator and ran the background task under that users id.

Is this expected behavior. I have some sites that will not load adobe documents. The site in question is a School District application that we cannot open seating charts.
This was installed using an MSI. Test sites I go to work fine.

I believe with further investigation that this is normal and when a PDF document is open it then shows in currently loaded.

SubNotFoundException under Linux not under Windows

Hi,
I got a RMI client server application. The server runs normal on my windows machine with JRE 1.5. But when I want to run it on my linux server with JRE 1.4, I get the following error:

I used an Ant Build.xml file to create jar (2 --> 1 remote.jar and 1 server.jar) files. In the javac I set the target to 1.1. In rmic I used stubversion and set to 1.1. All my remote objects are in a seperate jar file that is included in my path when I start my server. I start my server with a bat and a sh file.

Troubleshooting EWA, tasks run but sessions not in satellite

I am trying to troubleshoot EWA in SolMan. It has worked for ages and then it stopped. We have now implemented the latest-and-greatest ST-PI and ST-A/PI.
In SDCCN in the satellite system I see a "maintenance package" and a "session refresh", daily, both with the SolMan as their "task system".
This sounds a bit excessive to me, as note 763561 says that a "maintenance package" already contains a "session refresh".
Anyway, when I go to the SolMan, txn DSWP, and I order an "EearlyWatch alert" session for the satellite system, it never shows up in the satellite system. In SolMan it first gets the status "hour-glass" (meaning "waiting for data") and then the status "red flag" (meaning "data overdue").
The RFC-destinations are fine. Moreover, the logs of the SDCCN tasks do not show any problems with the RFC-destination.
I have forced a refresh of the service definitions: first the SolMan got new definitions from O01, and then the satellite systems got them from the SolMan.
Where do I look next?
BTW We are only monitoring ABAP.

Thank you. I suppose you mean /BDL/TASK_PROCESSOR? It is running fine (hourly), in the SolMan and in the satellite systems. It doe snot seem to achieve much, though... .
The SolMan also has a number of SM* jobs, some running hourly, some running daily, some weekly.
Anyway, I found that some of them have problem at each run.
SM:GET CSN COMPONENTS runs weekly and always fails with this error:

SM:SYNC SAP SESSIONS runs daily and always fails with:

I think I have found a clue! As I understand it, it is SolMan having a problem calling SAP SMP over RFC.

Starting background task in labview

Let me outline what I am looking to do. I'm not sure if a background task is the best descriptor, but it's the one I'm coming up with. it's tricky to explain, but here goes .....
When we start the program, we want to start the background task/alternate path/server (not sure which one best applies). I do not want the program to wait for the background task to complete. The program is then going to continue and do other processing.
The background task is going to do com port reads, filter them, and make the filtered results available to the original program.
Then when exiting the program the calling program would terminate the process. An alternate process would also be needed for handle aborted cases.
Any ideas?

It USED TO BE POSSIBLE to use FTP to transfer VIs to remote machines then afterwards use VI Server to open (with complete file path) and run the VI on the remote machine.

Smartform in background task

Hi,
I have the following code which is a copy of standard program /bev1/vd_bew_lief_background:

And inside this FM I have a call to print a smartform. When it goes in the second if block there is no problem, the smartform gets triggered. But when it goes to the 1st or 2nd, the one with in background task, the smartform is not triggered.
Is smartform allowed to be called in background processing?
Or there other things that I should check?

Does your smartform has a Dialog pop up?
If yes, you have to suppress it, as dialog and background don't go together.
You have set cetrain parameters in the Smartfrms function module in order not to get the pop up dialog.

Save Order - Call function in background Task

Hi all,
I have written a function module which is called in order save Badi and copies the system status on the Master contract to the sub contracts.
This works fine but when I call this function in background task the status is not getting copied over.For testing I have created a program similar to function module and scheduled that in background and this was working as required.
Can someone please let me know if I missed out anything or how can i resolve this issue.
Any inputs in this regard would be very helpful.

How do I stop pause all background tasks?

FCPX gets really unresponsive when I have background tasks running - rendering and/or uploading to youtube
Can I pause?
I think I'm right in saying that the software should actually pause itself automatically
This isn't happening and I've found the system to be very unresponsive
Simple things like dragging objects can take several seconds to respond

If you experience the issue in one particular user account, the suggestions below may resolve the issue. Before proceeding, you'll need to make hidden files and folder visible in Windows using steps 1-5.
Remove iTunes Preference files. Some of the files that iTunes stores settings and preferences in may be unusable. iTunes saves its preferences in two folders. Move one of them to the desktop and test to see if the issue persists. If it does, move it back and remove the second folder. The locations for the preference folders are:
c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Create a new iTunes Library.
Hold the Shift key while opening iTunes. You'll be asked to choose an iTunes library.

Windows Server Backup scheduled task run successfully but backup do not start (not running) on Windows Server 2012

A backup job has been setup on Windows Server 2012 (Platform: Win32NT; ServicePack: ; Version: 6.2.9200.0; VersionString : Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0) via Windows Backup Software UI (Local Backup 1.0).
It is appearing as a scheduled task "\Microsoft\Windows\Backup\Microsoft-Windows-WindowsBackup" belonging to user 'nt authority\system' in task scheduler.
The problem is that the Backup job never start despite the scheduled task running and completing successfully (when run automatically or manually)!
Would you be able to explain why and assist in resolving that issue?
Here is what we know:
When the backup is run manually via the Windows Backup Software UI, it works fine.
When the backup is run via command line (as set in schedule task) in a cmd command prompt (as local/domain 'administrator' or as 'nt authority\system' which is possible by running command prompt via 'PsExec.exe -i -s cmd'), something like "%windir%\System32\wbadmin.exe
start backup -templateId:{f11eb3aa-74e7-4ff4-a57b-d8d567ee3f77} -quiet", it works fine.
If you manually run the preset scheduled task while logged in as administrator, the task run and complete successfully but the backup job does not start.
Idem if you schedule task is run automatically at scheduled time.

It is confirmed by running the following in a command prompt as 'nt authority\system':

If scheduled task automatically set by Windows Backup software is duplicated (copied) and set manually it runs fine as 'administrator' and as 'nt authority\system' (subject that 'nt authority\system' is added to the 'Backup Operators' AD group).

Once again, the issue is not to run the backup manually from the command line but to have it run via the scheduled task setup by the Windows Backup software.
By default, the schedule task is to be run as NT Authority\System, and when run under this account, the backup does not start (even though account is member of Backup Operators) and job can manually be run via elevated command prompt. This is not a normal
behavior and constitute a major bug in Windows Server 2012.
From my understanding the NT Authority\System account is a built-in account from Windows that should by default be part of the Administrators group (built-in) even though it does not explicitly appears like it in AD by default.
This account shall have by default Administrators rights and Backup Operators rights (via the Administrators group) without being explicitly added to those groups (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/windows/desktop/ms684190%28v=vs.85%29.aspx). By design
it is supposed to be the most powerful account which has unrestricted access to all local system resources. If that is not the case (as it seems) then this would constitute a major bug in Windows Server 2012 edition.
As said previously and as you confirmed, currently by default NT Authority\System on Windows 2012 server cannot start backup manually via an elevated command prompt unless it is manually added to Backup Operators (or Administrators) group. But wouldn't that
constitute a bug of Windows Server 2012?
Our server has not yet been restarted since I added NT Authority\System account to the Administrators group explicitly manually so I cannot yet confirmed it would sort the issue. Indeed it is heavily in use so cannot easily be restarted. Will confirm when
done.
We also have an additional problem where after a while of last reboot, part of the Exchange ECP can no longer be properly loaded in the web browser due to compilation error (compilation is done via NT Authority\System account which seems to no longer have
sufficient right to compile .NET code). What is strange is that it works at first and then stop working at some point... I am hopeful that adding NT Authority\System to the Administrators group would sort this issue as well but once again, that shall not be
needed!!!

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is now non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
OS X v10.6.8 or later
2GB of memory
8GB of available space

iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
