Backing up Database plus 48 hour achivelog

Hi!
I wanna create a script to backup all database files and archivelog with less than 48h (not interesting if they where previously backed up or not).
I am trying to run the folowing statement:
backup database plus archivelog from time 'SYSDATE-2' format 'E:\tmp\backup_%d_%u_%s';
But got the message:
RMAN-00558: error encountered while parsing input commands
RMAN-01009: syntax error: found "time": expecting one of: "tag"
RMAN-01007: at line 5 column 17 file: e:\tmp\backupbanco.rman
If i try the follow it works fine:
backup archivelog from time 'SYSDATE-2' format 'E:\tmp\backup_%d_%u_%s';
I think there is a stupid syntax error but i can't figure it out.
Can anyone give me a light?

Is there any alternative? It seems that:
backup database plus archivelog NOT BACKED UP SINCE TIME 'SYSDATE-2' format 'E:\tmp\database_%d_%u_%s';
Work runs ok but on the second day it will not back up again the data from previuos day...

If I do full backup like this ...
BACKUP DATABASE PLUS ARCHIVELOG
... do I have to keep copy of media (database files)? I am under impression that as long as my recovery window falls between "BACKUP DATABASE PLUS ARCHIVELOG" and NOW ... I don't have to keep media files.
Am I right or wrong?

Sure..if you don't need to restore back to one of the previous backups, then they are no longer needed.
Configuring a retention policy will handle this maintenance for you automatically.
However, some people will keep them around as a fall back if something should happen to their most recent backup. It depends on your paranoia level and amount of disk/tape space that you have.

On my Oracle 11.1, I'm performing full backup with command:
backup incremental level 0 database plus archivelog delete input tag LEVEL_0_INC;Since this database is not in flashback mode, I'm wondering is it needed to backup archivelogs together with datafiles?
could I done it without achivelogs and to delete them after that?

From database to excel and back to database from excel - how?

Environment: db 8,10 server (HPUX), IAS (SUSE), forms6i,10+report6i,10
On principle there is no problem to get data from database to excel but there is the problem how to get data from excel back to database. I don't have intention to use APEX. The goal is to move the cursor to certain row in excel sheet and depends of data in this row call Oracle form in query only mode. Here is the solution to write URL into the excel cell but still exists the problem how to reduce number of session because each call of the form open the new session what I don't like to do.

Inolau, I'd like to open form between watching excel sheet depends of data in excel. For example:
Cells:
A B C

When I put the cursor on B:2 cell I'd like to open a form. After this I'd like to put the cursor on cell C:1 and I'd like to open the same form again. All in one session.

- Have you tried connecting it to your computer for a n hw and then see if it appears in iTunes. If it does restore the iPod.

I'm still struggling with the same cube and this is my 3rd post and once i fix some thing the other breaks. Please forgive me. When i process my cube i'm getting the error:

My question is when the error says column 5 (is it the column 5 in the DSV?) or is it the column 5 in the DIMENSION list?
My next question is the DSV Query works perfectly fine , so why this error in cube? This is what i have in the query in DSV.
Please need help. In the below query both the column 5 (ArEASSIGNED TO VENDOR) in the CUBE and underlying table have the same data type and length VARCHAR(4000). Why is the process failing still?

I just counted the columns from the top:
1) compliancejoin, 2) mowingsector, 3) caseclosedflag, 4) casehasvendorinfo, 5) mowingstatus, 6) assignedtovendor.
I see now that your subject line talks about column 6, but you say column 5 in body of your original post.
I don't know anything about cubes, but apparently there is some mapping problem when you run it from SSAS. (I assume it is SSAS, a part of the product I'm entirely ignorant of.) I figured that if you had got tripped by the zero-based numbering, you
might be staring on the wrong column.

I'm still struggling with the same cube and this is my 3rd post and once i fix some thing the other breaks. Please forgive me. When i process my cube i'm getting the error:

My question is when the error says column 5 (is it the column 5 in the DSV?) or is it the column 5 in the DIMENSION list?
My next question is the DSV Query works perfectly fine , so why this error in cube? This is what i have in the query in DSV.
Please need help. In the below query both the column 5 (ArEASSIGNED TO VENDOR) in the CUBE and underlying table have the same data type and length VARCHAR(4000). Why is the process failing still?

I just counted the columns from the top:
1) compliancejoin, 2) mowingsector, 3) caseclosedflag, 4) casehasvendorinfo, 5) mowingstatus, 6) assignedtovendor.
I see now that your subject line talks about column 6, but you say column 5 in body of your original post.
I don't know anything about cubes, but apparently there is some mapping problem when you run it from SSAS. (I assume it is SSAS, a part of the product I'm entirely ignorant of.) I figured that if you had got tripped by the zero-based numbering, you
might be staring on the wrong column.

Hi,
Is there any component available in market which I can use to write back to database? I looked into web service option but there is not clear (Step by step) instruction on how to use it. If some body used any workaround or component please let me know.

For the web services, it is good to create three methods:

Webservice Connection:
From the Manage Connections, select the add and select Web Service Connection.
You will want to import the url for your ear file, where you will want to select the method you created.

If the iTunes purchases are not in your iTunes library you can redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you restore from backup, not that synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup and thus if those items are not in the iTunes library they can't be restored to the iPod during the latter part of the restore process.

Problem with MS-Access as Back-End Database

We are using MS-Acess as a back-end Database
when we are inserting some rows into that table all rows are inserting but the last inserting row statement , is not inserting into that table

I have set up a SQL server agent job to back up database on regular basis.. For some reason the back up fails.. Could not find any meaningful info in the logs.. Transaction logs are getting created for the same DB but not the database back up..
The below is my environment..
MS SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1399.06
Windows 2003 server SP2
Any pointers would be helpful.. I checked the event logs and the agent logs and did not see obvious error.

NO answer can be provided unless you show us the error message. There can be numerous reasons for backup job to fail. See job history for details please post complete information present in job history.
Check errorlog and note what error message is there at time when the backup job failed. You could find something useful. Please learn how to post question in forum just saying I have a problem will not help both of us.

Even if you've switched your database to NOARCHIVELOG mode, the ArchiveLogs that were generated earlier are still "known" as they are still cataloged in the control file (a query on V$ARCHIVED_LOG would show them).
As you are running NOARCHIVELOG, you really do not need to do BACKUP DATABASE PLUS ARCHIVELOG;
Your backup would be in MOUNT but not OPEN state so there would be no transactions.
If you really want to "clear" those older archivelogs so that RMAN doesn't attempt to backup them, you need to run these commands in RMAN :
Crosscheck Archivelog All;
Delete Expired ArchiveLog All;The first command will verify the controlfile records against the files actually present on disk and mark as "Expired" all those they do not exist on disk. The second command will "delete" them in that RMAN will no longer look for them.
