Backspace button dead

My backspace has decided to stop working yesterday night.
I have got a feeling that some drops of water may have gone into the keyboard.
Do you know if this can be repaired taking the laptop to an Apple store?
Can you plase advise?

if it's just a key not working they will probably replace keyboard.
any Apple service provider should be able to do that.

I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns.

Code is attached to some Forms trigger. Which trigger is that?
And what is this "virtual keyboard" you are using?
Also, always include your Forms and Java version, browser, etc.

Sounds like an issue with your multi-touch display. You may need to contact AppleCare or an Apple Store for a repair.
Before you try that though, create an iTunes backup and restore the device as new to check to see if that fixes the issue. You'll need to do the backup before doing a repair anyways.

Why can't I use backspace button or go back and edit typed text?

I recently upgraded my OS to 10.6.8 on my mac mini, allowing me to update my Firefox. Ever since then, when typing any text, such as this one, or in an email, or a comment post on a blog, I am unable to use the backspace button, go back and edit any text, and at times no key on my keyboard works at all. Intensely frustrating and I have no idea what is going on. Please let me know what settings to change so that I can go back correct spelling, make edits, backspace, all the normal usual things that a person does when typing text. Thank you.

Can't reprint coupons by hitting backspace button? Didn't have a problem until recently.

For last two weeks, I can't reprint coupons (from Coupons.com and a couple other sources) by hitting backspace button. Didn't have a problem until recently and there is a 2 print limit. Can't get the second to print even if I close Firefox and reopen!!! IT'S COSTING ME LOTS OF MONEY IN SAVINGS!!!
I've even tried the open:config and resetting the print.print line, but to no avail.
PLEASE HELP!!!! THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!

Add in buttons 'dead'

Having reinstalled Adobe Acrobat after a PC rebuild, my 'add-in' tab appears in Word (2010), but the Create PDF button (and all the other buttons) are 'dead'. Any ideas?

With OFFICE 2010, your only option is to print to the Adobe PDF printer. If you want to use PDF Maker in OFFICE 2010, you will have to upgrade to AA X. The AA9 PDF Maker is not compatible with OFFICE 2010.

Macbook Power Button Dead?

Hey all.
I have this oldie 13 inch white macbook which was working smooth until a few days ago.
The power button stopped working while it was on, so to turn it off I went to 'shut down' under the apple (I know I shouldn't have turned it off in the first place)
After a lot of trouble, I 'jumpstarted' it as suggested on some forums, i.e.connected two contacts on the logic board.
My macbook is out of warranty for long time so I don't worry.
Anyways, just wondering if someone has the same problem or if someone knows how to fix dead power button?
Please no answers like just send it to apple as I live in a remote place, with the nearest apple store being somewhere 500 miles away from me.

Thanks for your replies, as I mentioned, it's a white macbook with 13", there is only one model of them (A1181) and they are made between 2006 and 2009 as far as I'm aware and all look identical, also all have identical connections except backlight for penryn and santa rosa models. Mine is core 2 duo 2ghz late 2006 if it matters.
@bestofall- mine is older (non-unibody) so it comes apart as one piece. Advantage is that it takes apart easily, disadvantage is, as you said, I cannot just replace the button, I must replace the whole keyboard.
Also an update, randomly num lock and caps lock buttons became inverted, now I have to keep them on (green led on) in order to type normally, otherwise I get all-caps or a bunch of random numbers.

Windows Sharing button "dead"!

Apologies if this has been answered, but the Search function is presently turned off in the forums ...
About to upgrade to 10.4.10 and intending to use the "Combo" because some flaky things have been happening lately (lost permissions, oodles of red crosses on folders, Dashboard will only hiccup-not open).
Problem: When I attempt to turn on Windows Sharing, the radio button recognizes the mouse-click event (I see a very subtle icon change), but it will not activate. Firewall on or off, no difference. And, no filesharing. Boo!
Any suggestions? Condisering an Archive and install, followed by upgrade to 10.4.10.

Moved the preferences files to a desktop folder, rebooted, and found that OS X had "made some changes" for me: First, I had a new user account, using my previous long user name, I was prompted to select a short name & password for the account. I was confused. But since my prior user account had been plagued with problems, I accepted the invitation, took the data I needed from the "dead account," and trashed it. At the same time I chose to upgrade to 10.4.10, using the install I had downloaded from apple.com about two weeks ago.
Net result: System in general seems cleaner -- which is both good and bad: I have to re-enter much info, but sense that I have lost some gremlins in the process.
As far as Windows Sharing? Nope! Whatever was renewed by all of the above, I cannot invoke windows sharing.
If I am correct, and Samba lies at the root of this and my printing problem (i.e., my inability to print to a LaserJet 5P on LPT1: of my Dell/Windows box), nothing we've tried has touched Samba or corrected either issue.
I can make do without Windows Sharing -- temporarily: I can use Kenbushi (formerly PC-Mac-FileShare) to transfer files plus I just got an external USB/FW400 hard drive (320GB WD My Book) on which I have finally created (after 3 days work) an NTFS read-write partition for the Mac (I deserve another degree for the research I did to solve that little ditty! Both help.
But since I also still can't print over my network, I STILL need advice. BTW, anyone else can feel free to help!!

Backspace Button deleting whole sentence with one click ...

Hey guys, I really need some help here ... When I'm typing on my BlackBerry Curve 8520 and when i press the backspace (Delete) button it erases the whole sentance, and i was wondering if it was just me with this problem and how do I fix it? ... Also if i want to do at smily face it wont let me hold alt and then press H and then Y i have to press alt H and then alt Y ... Please someone help

I don't see a way to add a colour fill with one click. The Mac way is to select something (point and click):
"Hey, You!"
and then give it an order:
"Do this!"
Numbers 3.2 retains the glorious Colour Window of Numbers 2. Menu > View > Show (or Hide) Colors (shift command c)

Menu Button Dead

I got a 4g Click Wheel 20gb, i purchased it on eBay 1 month ago, everything works great until today, the Menu button is dead, other buttons are fine. I still have 7 days warranty coverage from Apple (I check it online). What can I do in order to fix this? should I bring this to Apple Store and replace with another one? share your thoughts.

It appears to be out of date so far as the warranty is concerned. There may have been some minor detritus slipped down the side of the key. See if you can find a buush with stiff but fine hair. Perhaps a toothbrush. Then brush around the key. It is possible to remove the key if you are very careful and that would make it easier but you have to be very careful. You are sure there hasn't been any liquid spilt; even the smallest amount can cause a drama..

How do I forward space and backspace without deleting on my ipad?

The iPad does not have "arrow keys" like a keyboard. You can move the cursor with your finger by touching the screen, sliding the pop up circle till you see the cursor placed where you want.

Backspace button registers twice on honeycomb

The backspace key registers twice, even when only pressed once when using the current Firefox 4 beta for android. This is happening on the honeycomb verion of android on a Motorola Xoom device.

This bug has been fixed in our latest development versions: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=637892
