BADI or User exit to update the data in a PO(ME22N or ME21N)
Hi,
I require a BADI or an user exit to update all the line items of a PO...
Please let me know if there is a badi or user exit that triggers before the saving of the PO..and also updates the values of all the item data fields..
Thanks in advance
Regards
ShivaHi,
we have checked above BADI;s but will not suffice the requirement;
The requiement is
While Creating PO(ME21N) and Changing PO(ME22N):
When the user tries to Save the PO:
All the line items should be accessible and can be editable.
If the validation fails, error message should be displayed on
the screen and user should be able to edit at that location.
Please let me know if there is any other way or enhancement point for the same...

Bad performance when iterating/updating the rows of a tree table
Hello,
we have a tree table based on a VO and EO (with transient attributes). One of the attribute is a flag.
The VO is populated with a complex query having many thousands of rows.
Now, when the user clicks on a parent node, all the children are updated (their flag is set to true) recursively.
This is really really slow. It might require several minutes, while a similar update via PL/SQL on a real table would required few seconds.
Is there any way to improve the performance? We have already applied all the tunings on both the EO and VO mentioned in Oracle Documentation, but they had almost no effect:
- retain viewlink row set iterators
- query hints
- Use update batching
The algorithm we use is the following:
private void checkTreeNodes(JUCtrlHierNodeBinding node, Boolean check) {
if (node == null) {
return;
TreeVORowImpl nodeRow = (TreeVORowImpl)node.getRow();
if (nodeRow != null) {
nodeRow.setFlag(check);
List<JUCtrlHierNodeBinding> children = null;
if (!nodeRow.getLevel().equals("4")) // no more than 4 levels
children = node.getChildren();
if (children != null) {
for (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding _node : children) {
checkTreeNodes(_node, check);
}Thanks for you answer.
I am trying to move the logic in a method of the AM. But I have an exception (jdev 11.1.2.1):
public void checkTreeNodes(TreeVORowImpl node, Boolean check, int level) {
if (node == null)
return;
node.setFlag(check);
if (level >= 4)
return;
Key key = new Key(new String[] { node.getId() }); // Id is the primary Key
// By debugging via System.out.println, the code stops here:
RowIterator rowIt = getMyVO().findByAltKey("ParentId", key , -1, false); // children have ParentId = Id
while (rowIt.hasNext()) {
TreeVORowImpl row = (TreeVORowImpl)rowIt.next();
checkTreeNodes(row, check, level + 1);
}findByAltKey gives the following exception (since it's called from the UI by getting the AM from DataControl):
oracle.jbo.InvalidObjNameException: JBO-25005: [...]

Do you see anything wrong or not efficient?

BADI - WORKBREAKDOWN_UPDATE how to update responsible person?
Hi, Expert:
the business scenario is below:
1, create the project.
2, create the WBS (hundreds of wbs)
3, save the project.
now the responsible person is required field. how to use Badi WORKBREAKDOWN_UPDATE to update all of the responsible person. (or have other method to realize this)
thanx!Hi
You can use OPS6 transaction to update the 'Person Resposible for the WBS element'.
For updating the 'applicant ' use OPS7.
Hope this solves.

CIN: Items are not displayed while updating the RG1 Register using T Code:
Hi Experts,
Items are not displayed while updating the RG1 Register using T Code: J1I5.
System is not showing any error message.
Can any one explain to update the RG1 Register?
Thanks
ChandraHi,
dont go the table again and again . the table is updated at intial stage only for stock update but not when SAP is running.
In day to day bussiness the flow is as follows:
Production - MB31 - to Unres stock
Sales - VL02n - PGI - to customer - i.e out of unres stock
Every day u can run TC J1i5 once in a day as decided and update the register so all transactions which have happend in that day gets updated i.e both input and output.
and this will happen every day.
hence dont use table as it is only for intial data upload i.e just before golive.
Hope i am clear.

Receiving Transaction Processor updates in rcv_transactions_interface
Hi,
We use an legacy inventory system to receive lots. Once received a custom program puts the records into rcv_transactions_interface table for interfacing and calls the Receiving Transaction Processor. Now, the Receiving Transaction Processor updates the rcv_transactions_interface with error. The error in po_interface_errors table is
The item id (NUMBER = **********) does not match the item_id in the Purchase Order.
But the item in present in the Purchase order which I have mentioned. Please help me in finding out the resolution for this issue.
ThanksCan you do this and let us know the results?
1. Change the Proflle value for RCV: Processing Mode to Batch
2. Change the profile value for RCV: Debug Mode to Yes
3. Perform transaction
4. Run Receiving Transaction Processor
5. Check the log file at the bottom.
6. If you can send the log file,. we can assist.
Also as a clue this error looks like is coming back from Inventory. Please check whether the item controls are correctly setup and item attributes are enabled correctly. Your code combinations are all still enabled that are used in the po distributions and so on.
Thanks

What is the diffreence between call transaction and session method
hi gurus
can any one suggest me
what is the difference between call transaction and session methods
in which cases we have to use teh call transaction and
in which cases we have to use session method.
thank you
regards
kals.CLASSICAL BATCH INPUT (Session Method)
CALL TRANSACTION
BATCH INPUT METHOD:
This method is also called as ‘CLASSICAL METHOD’.
Features:
Asynchronous processing.
Synchronous Processing in database update.
Transfer data for more than one transaction.
Batch input processing log will be generated.
During processing, no transaction is started until the previous transaction has been written to the database.
CALL TRANSACTION METHOD :
This is another method to transfer data from the legacy system.
Features:
Synchronous processing. The system performs a database commit immediately before and after the CALL TRANSACTION USING statement.
Updating the database can be either synchronous or asynchronous. The program specifies the update type.
Transfer data for a single transaction.
Transfers data for a sequence of dialog screens.
No batch input processing log is generated.
http://www.sap-img.com/abap/difference-between-batch-input-and-call-transaction-in-bdc.htm
Among the two methods call transaction is better compared to session bcoz data transfer is faster in it.
Differences between call transaction and session.
Session Method:
1) Data is not updated in the database table until the session is processed.
2) No sy-subrc is returned.
3) Error log is created for error records.
4) Updation is always synchronous.
Call Transaction Method:
1) Immediate updation in the database table.
2) sy-subrc is returned.
3)Error need to be handled explicitly.
4) updation can be synchronous as well as asynchronous.
2) ya u can use using the N mode no screen.
3)u can't handle multiple transaction in call transaction.
4) u can handle multiple transaction in session using the BDC_INSERT fm.
5)When u go to SM35 u can able to see the error records.
Which is best?
That depends on your requirement. Both of them have there advantages.
According to the situation u can choose any one of these.
difference between batch input and call transaction in BDC Session method.
1) synchronous processing.
2) can tranfer large amount of data.
3) processing is slower.
4) error log is created
5) data is not updated until session is processed.
Call transaction.
1) asynchronous processing
2) can transfer small amount of data
3) processing is faster.
4) errors need to be handled explicitly
5) data is updated automatically
For session method,these are the function modules to b used.
BDC_OPEN_GROUP
BDC_INSERT
BDC_CLOSE_GROUP
For call transaction,this is the syntax.
CALL TRANSACTION TCODE USING BDCDATA
MODE A or E or N
UPDATE A or S
MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.
Take a scenario where we need to post documents in FB01 and the input file has say 2000 records (2000 documents, not line items in FB01 but 2000 records)
In the BDC call transaction method
We call the transaction FB01 2000 times (once for each record posting) and if the processing fails in record no 3 it can be captured and start with reocord 4.
Eg: Loop at itab.
call transaction FB01
capture errors
endloop.
In the session method.
We do not explicity call the transaction 2000 times, but all the records are appeneded into a session and this session is stored. The processinf of the session is done wwhenever the user wants it to be done. Hence the errors cannot be captured in the program itself

http://www.itcserver.com/blog/2006/06/30/batch-input-vs-call-transaction/
http://www.planetsap.com/bdc_main_page.htm
Batch Input Session method is asynchronous as told by others here. But the advantage of this is that you have all the error messages and the data for each transaction held persistantly. You don't have to code anything for processing them or writing the logs.
But at the same time, the same feature can be disadvantageous if you need to react to an error or if there are too many errors to manually correct in a session. Since the session are created in the program and its execution is done seperately, you loose the trackability of such transactions.
With a call transaction, what was a disadvantage above will become an advantage. Call transaction immediately gives you messages back and you can react to it in your program. But the disadvantage is that, if you have several hundreds of transactions to run, running them from within the program can be resource crunching affair. It will hamper the system performance and you cannot really distribute the load. Of course, you have some mechanisms with which you can overcome this, but you will have to code for it. Also, storing the messages and storing the errored transaction data etc will have to be handled by you in the program. Whereas, in batch input session, your program's job is to just create the session, after that everything is standard SAP system's responsibility.
Ideally, you should do a call transaction if the resources are not a problem and if it fails, put the errored transaction into a session.
You can decide based on the data volume that your BDC is processing. If data volume is high go for session else call transaction will do.The call transaction updates will be instantaneous where as session needs to be processed explictly after creation.
Session Method
1) Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data
2) data processing is asynchronus and data updation is synchronus.
3) it process multiple apllication while perfomaning validations.
4) in session method data will be updated in data base only after processing session only.
5) system provide by default logfile for handling error records.
6) it supports both foreground aswell as background process
in bdc we use FM ...
bdc_open_group " for creating Session
bdc_insert " adding transaction and bdcdata table for updating database
bdc_close_group " for closing Session
Call Transaction
1) Call transaction exclusively for small amout of data
2) it supports only one apllication while perfoming validations
3) there is no default logfile, We can explicitly provide logic for creating logfile for handling error records.
we can create logfile by using structure....BDCMSGCOLL
4) it doesn't support background processing.
5) data processing is synchronous and Data updation is Synchronous( default), in
this method also supports daya updation in asynchronus process also.
syntax:
Call transaction <transaction-name> using BDCDATA
mode <A/N/E>
update <L/A/S>
messages into BDCMSGCOLL.
BDC:
Batch Data Communication (BDC) is the process of transferring data from one SAP System to another SAP system or from a non-SAP system to SAP System.
Features :
BDC is an automatic procedure.
This method is used to transfer large amount of data that is available in electronic medium.
BDC can be used primarily when installing the SAP system and when transferring data from a legacy system (external system).
BDC uses normal transaction codes to transfer data.
Types of BDC :
CLASSICAL BATCH INPUT (Session Method)

Updating the RG1 register.
Hi..Gurus,
Iam updating the RG1 register like this. In my company we create sales order. After that the PP people do the Sales order to process order and put the stock into the unrestricted stock.
Then we do delivery and billing and excise invoice.
After creation of the excise invoice iam using the J1ID here in the Chapter Id and Material combination iam putting the material as RG1.after that iam using the T.code SE16 and in the table j_2irg1bal iam maintaing the some quantity in total receipts+issues field.
After that iam doing RG1 updation ,Extraction.
My question is is my process is correct or not? if we follow the process any problems come in the future.
Gurus please correct me.
regards,
jyothi.Hi,
dont go the table again and again . the table is updated at intial stage only for stock update but not when SAP is running.

Direct URL to open the Sales order transaction based on the Transacation ID
Hi All,
Please help me...
When i click the below link then it will navigate to the sales order transacation.
https://dev1crm...:18020/sap(bD1lbiZjPTIwMCZkPW1pbg==)/bc/bsp/sap/crm_bsp_frame/entrypoint.do?appl=CRMD_BUS2000115&blview=&analyze=X
but my requirement is, now i have to create a differnet url for different transaction ID's.
Let us consider few sales order transacation ID's :
6500000001
6500000002
6500000003
6500000004
6500000005
now i will create a hyper link to these transaction id's from the portal screen, and when ever user clicks on any of these transaction id, then i should navigate to the sales order transaction by showing the details about this transaction id.
Please do suggest me how to handle this.
Thanks in advance.
anilHi,
I got the solution,
append this string to the URL
&crm_object_id=4603D4CDF5950535E100000082974D14
4603D4CDF5950535E100000082974D14 --- Guid.
Thanks,

In transaction code BBP_PD the status of the workitem is not updating showi
Hi Gurus,
We have implemented N-Step BADI BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI For Approvals Levels in SRM.
Work flow is triggering correctly and workitem is sent at all the levels. But in transaction code BBP_PD the status of the workitem is not updating showing the error message "NO WORKITEM FOUND" also status is not updating in BBP_PD.
Please reply with your suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
MadhukarHi
Thanks for your reply.
We are getting "No workitem found" status in BBP_PD transaction. But all approval process is happening perfectly and when we check status through "Status Monitor " through web it is updating correct status.
Status is updating in BBP_PD .Status of main workflow is displaying correctly and approval levels and corresponding approver names are displaying correctly, but only the status and time of approval is missing.
can you suggest something on this issue.

BADI to check and update field in transaction BP through WEB UI
Hi,
I have this requirement to check certain data from BUT000 and based on this update the Search term field in BUT000.
I am using Badi BUPA_GENERAL_UPDATE.
I am also able to retrieve the current value in BUT000 using function module
CALL FUNCTION 'BUPA_GENERAL_CALLBACK'
TABLES
et_but000_old = t_but000_old
et_but000_new = t_but000_new.
My requirement is to update a field in BUT000 in memory.
If I was to use transaction BP in CRM then simply I can modify the value using
ASSIGN ('(SAPLBUD0)MEM_BUT000[] into <Field_symbol>
But the issue is that when called through the WEB UI I cannot access this memory.
Can any one suggest me a Function Module or some method by which I can change the value of BUT000 in memory while saving.
Awaiting your quick suggestions.
Regards,
TaherHi Sidd,
I figured out another way to do this.
FIELD-SYMBOLS <fs> TYPE ANY TABLE.
DATA : ws_bus000_i TYPE bus000___i.
FIELD-SYMBOLS <fs2> TYPE bus000___i.
IF sy-tcode = 'BP'.
ASSIGN ('(SAPLBUD0)MEM_BUT000[]') TO <fs>.
IF <fs> IS ASSIGNED.
LOOP AT <fs> ASSIGNING <fs2>.
IF <fs2> IS ASSIGNED.
IF <fs2>-partner_guid = ws_but000-partner_guid.
<fs2>-bu_sort1 = 'BP'.
ENDIF.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
ENDIF.
UNASSIGN : <fs>, <fs2>.
ELSEIF sy-tcode IS INITIAL.
ASSIGN ('(SAPLBUD_MEM)gt_but000_mem[]') TO <fs>.
IF <fs> IS ASSIGNED.
LOOP AT <fs> ASSIGNING <fs2>.
IF <fs2> IS ASSIGNED.
IF <fs2>-partner_guid = ws_but000-partner_guid.
<fs2>-bu_sort1 = 'WEB UI'.
ENDIF.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
ENDIF.
UNASSIGN : <fs>, <fs2>.
ENDIF.
on debugging I could figure out the program containing the data in the memory.
Before the save I accessed this program and updated the parameter as required.
Also For transaction BP this program is not available but there is another program so there is an if else based on the sy-tcode.
I need to check for other BP transactions as well but as of now this seems good.
Kindly suggest.

User-Exit/Badi/Funtion Module for update Batch in transaction CORK
Hi Gurus,
when an IDoc 'Z' is executed to do a confirmation using the FM CO_RU_ORDER_CONFIRMATION, the values of transaction CORK are modified.
I'd like to update the field batch number so when you enter a process order in transaction CORK and then you click on Components, you'll see the list of component and the batch number updated throught the custom IDoc.
Does anyone knows any user-exit or Badi or maybe a FM to implement so when the first confirmation is done, the batch numbers are updated?
Thanks in advance.Hi,
You can copy and paste the Report code below. This will give the list of User Exits and BADIs available for the Transcation code. Very usefull program.
Below code will give a list of BADIs for particular transaction.
