Balances in base ledger and comparison ledger
Dear Sir/Madam,
We run the T code: KE5T to find out the difference in the base ledger and the comparison ledger. In our case we have balances appearing in the comparison ledger. the same balances are not appearing in the base ledger because of which the whole amount is going under difference column. now we want to tally both the ledgers and make the difference zero. How can we do this.

Prashant Zinge

Variance between Material Ledger and General Ledger of
There is again a variance between Material Ledger and General Ledger of
7.026,64 (Tcode MB5L) as it was already in $$100036500(G/L).
The strange thing is, that there is only a difference in the GL Account
Balance report (FS10N) for S240077000(G/L ). In the Line Item report (FBL3N)
all documents are available. This issue impacts at least the Balance
carry forward negativ at the year end, because the system will forward
the the amount of the balance for S240077000, which is now 7.026,64 to
less.
Ther first investigations results:
- all Material- and FI documents are available.
- the variances in June refer to FI-documnets 4900015286 and 4900015293.
- the documents, e.g. 4900015292 and 4900015287, are correct and was
posted at the same day by the same user and with the same transaction
MI07.
- there are no differences for the posted materials identificable from
the other materialsMaterial Ledger/Actual costing MLAC
MLAC is used where the FG cost varies every month due to external procurement variation.
Ex: Jan 2011
FG cost of manufcature internally = 100
FG cost of procurement externally = 120 ( Company procures due to capacity constraint)
FG Standard price at the end of month = 110...This is standard price of FG
Due to heavy fluctuations in the month of February 2011 in procurement...
Ex: Feb 2011
FG cost of manufcature internally = 140
FG cost of procurement externally = 460 ( Company procures due to capacity constraint)
FG Standard price at the end of month = 300...This is standard price of FG.
The variance is very high in Feb 2011 and company want to absorb this variance in Feb 2011 iteslef hence they will use MLAC.
So if the variance is within reasonable limits company usually do not follow MLAC.
Where as if the variance is very high company usually follow MLAC.
In Pharma Industry usually the variance is very high on month to month basis hence they follow MLAC.
Where as in Industrial Mahcineery Manufacturing Company the variance is with in reasonable limits hence they do not follow MLAC. Ofcourse they can use MLAC as well.

How to update check number in general ledger and vendor ledger automatical
Dear All,
i need some clarification in check updation in general ledger and Vendor ledger through the system automatically.
While making vendor payment system will not update check details in vendor ledger and bank GL code.while doing bank reconcilation its very difficult to identify check no and amount for that we have updating manually but its time taking. Is there any program or any enahancement for updating check number in general ledger and vendor ledger.
Kindly suggest me how to update check number . Is there any programm or enahancement for check updation.kindly suggest me.
Thanks in advance
Thanks and Regards
GirishHI,
If I am understanding correctly what you are wanting is to be able to see the check number for the payment document in both FBL1N and FAGLL03.
Special fields for AP line item reporting can be configured via IMG. Define additional fields for line item display>
Not all fields are available, but this one is. Add this entry, you can also add check encashment date if desired.
PAYR table name.
CHECF Field name
After these fields are saved, they can be selected in the line item layout on FBL1N.
You may also need to reset the ALV buffer using program BALVBUFDEL
Resetting the buffer is only necessary once in each client.
Hope this helps.

Purchase ledger and General Ledger account codes
I am looking for information about how Oracle Financials works in respect of "codes" if that is what they are called within the Module. I am an accountant as well as a developer, and I have equivalent information about a number of other accounting packages. Readers may need to translate some of my terminology into Oracle equivalent language.
1. My expectation is that the purchase ledger transaction table has some sort of a "purchase ledger account code" column that is used for joins to the purchase ledger master table. If that is so, what sort of values are in that column or its equivalent? Are they values that are codes or original codes? Put another way, what sort of values are there in whatever column is used for joins to the master table?
2. I have equivalent expectations in respect of the General ledger. What sorts of values are in whatever transaction table column is used for joins to the general ledger master table? Are these general ledger account codes?
My interest is in how the applications process change, such as a change in the name of a supplier or the inclusion of a general ledger account where there does not seem to be space for one in the chart of accounts. My next enquiries will depend on the answers to these ones.Use SAP online library

Integration General new ledger and SAP orgmanagement
Hello,
as desribed in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/42/f8f25eba761a7de10000000a422035/content.htm
there is a possibility to integrate object from the new general ledger into SAP HR.
In my case it is not enough to integrate those obect in IT0001, far better would be an deep integration in sap orgmanagement (like the cost center in om IT1001)
Does anyone knows a way to integrate this areas?
Best regards
GeKaHi Udo Werner
Thanks for your answer, now is clear that is not any integration between New Ledger and Matereial ledger, even that, I would like to know, what do you mean when you said u201CThe only integration topics might be how to handle the postings of material ledger within the accounting interfaceu201D?, is any transaction related ?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,

TRM - Post both to group ledger and secondary local ledger
Dear All,
While executing TBB1, in order to post the commercial paper paper to accounting , I noticed that it is going to only one ledger.
The group ledger, does any one know how to post both to secondary local ledger and group ledger please.
Thanks in advance,
DanielHi Daniel,
can you clarify what you are expecting by way of Group Ledger and secondary local ledger with an example.
TBB1 will be supported for posting at two level @ Customer Level and GL Level. This can be performed for multiple valuation area if required.

Difference in Open Balance As per Trial Balance and General Ledger in SAP
Dear All,
1 ) Whle generating trial balance in SAP B1 for one Business master there is a difference in Opening Balance as per Trial Balance and as per General Ledger how ever closing balance in matching.
Difference As follows
Report Name ob cr ob dr dr cr CL
General Balance 614536 19237612.34 18650320.01 1201828.33
Trial balanceB 4521743.19 19237612.34 13514040.82 1201828.33
Is it possible the open balnce should be same in both report. The opening balance as per GL report is correct.
2) I have run the period end closing for Apr- 2010 to Mar 2011 after that I generated the traial balance for Apr-1-2011 where the opening balances for expense account and revenue account is showing technically after period end closing the balance become zero for all closing balance revenue and expenses accounts.
Please note that there are some entries in revenue and expense account in on 1st apr. 2011.
Please guide on this.

<a href="http://www.youtubemp3.net/">youtube mp3</a>, <a href="http://www.limewire.name/">limewire</a>Hi,
I think you should re-visit the selection creteria for the Trial balance.
The Display Opening Balance has two options. If you select from 'Start of Company activity', then it will include every balance of previous year.
Check for the Display Closing balance option as well. As you have performed the Period End closing, the checkbox options can have an impact on the outcome in the report.
Check the selection again.
Kind Regards,
Jitin

Opening balance upload in Leading and NOn leading ledger.
Hi All.
We are in the phase of opening balance upload. We are using Leading and Non leading ledger concept. Our Leading ledger starts on 29th of March 2009 as per UK reporting and Non leading ledger starts from 1st April to 31st of March as per India reporting.
We were going to upload the opening balance as on 22nd of Nov as per UK reporting. But here We stuck because as per India reporting our 2008 fiscal year has been closed on 31st of march 2009 also financial books has been closed. But due to UK reporting we are carrying 29th to 3st march 2009 P&L balances in Leading ledger which has been considered in the India Balance sheet ( has come in Profit and Loss Account).
Here I am not able to understand that how I should upload the 29th to 31st march P&L balances in leading ledger because if I will upload these through F-02 or FB50 BDC than these will effect the India balances also. If I am using the FB01l or FB50L to upload the Non leading ledger balances, than system is not allowed me to upload the balances in open item management accounts. System prompt me following message.
Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted
Message no. FAGL_POST_SERVICE012
Diagnosis
You use G/L account 213702 in company code 7041 with open item management. However, postings are not permitted to G/L accounts in individual ledgers with open item management.
Procedure
If you have not yet made any postings to this account and if the account is to be used for closing processes in non-leading ledgers, deactivate the Open Item Management indicator in the company code data for the G/L account.
Can any one tell me that how I can Achieve the same with correct P&L affect in Leading Ledger and correct effect in Non leading ledger Profit and loss account.
Appreciate your immediate response.
Many thanksHi
If your problem is solved, can you please let me know the solution for upload of customer, vendor and other open GL items in Non Leading Ledger.

GL, Customer and Vendor ledger in opening and transaction format.
Hi
My client requirement is: Any GL account (FBL3N), Vendor ledger (FBL1N) and customer ledger (FBL5N) should be in format: Opening +/- transactions = closing.
For example, in FBL1N, when we execute for 1st November to 30th November, then it should show opening balance as on 1st November and then transactions between 1st November to 30th November and then closing.
At present, SAP shows only transactions between 1st November to 30th November and does not show opening balance as on 1st november.
Please let me know if there any standard report for such formatHi:
There is no such standard report in SAP which will provide you customer, vendor and GL reporting in this format. However with the help of ABAP you can easily get such reports developed..There are BAPIs which returns you values at key date.. Please find them
for GL
BAPI_GL_ACC_GETBALANCE
BAPI_GL_ACC_GETCURRENTBALANCE
BAPI_GL_ACC_GETPERIODBALANCES (make use of BSIS and BSAS)
for customer OB
BAPI_AR_ACC_GETKEYDATEBALANCE (make use of BSID and BSAD tables for transactioal data)
for vendor OB
BAPI_AP_ACC_GETKEYDATEBALANCE (make use of BSIK and BSAK )
I hope it will help you.

Current Day Bank Statement post to GL and Sub-Ledger
Hello SAP Friends,
I need help on Current Day Bank Statement. Appreciate your input/help/opinion.
My client wants to update Current day bank statement to G/L and Sub-Ledger so that any electronic payment received from customer updated in real-time. As the sale cycle is very short about a week, they do not want to wait to update book with prior day bank statement.
SAP standard functionality allows creating memo record from current day bank statement to reflect Correct Cash Position.
Can someone share there experience for Current day bank statement posting and how process has been managed technically?
Thanks for all help.
SureshHi,
When Manual bank statement is run, a JV gets posted knocking of subledger with debit or credit (Payment/Deposit) and one line item will be posted in the main bank account.
In you scenario, take the document available in the main bank account and reverse it in transaction code FBRA. This will knock off all the balances and the ledger will be zero. -

Entry view shows basically the line items you enter into the system. Data is retrieved from BKPF and BSEG tables.
GL view may have additional line items (due to zero balance indicator in document splitting configuration) or the same line items with account assignments (that you do not see in entry view) that are filled due to document splitting characteristic configuration. Using GL view you can retrieve documents from non-leading ledgers as well. Data is retrieved from FAGLFLEX* tables. -
What is meant by subledger account and pending ledger?
what is condition type , where we use in ?Definition of General Ledger and Sub Ledgers in SAP
u2022 The general ledger is a list of account balances for a specific company. It is used to support legal financial statements and other statutory reports.
u2022 All accounting transactions to a company are recorded in the General Ledger; then, if applicable, P&L transactions are posted through to Controlling module.
u2022 Where it is not practical to list all accounts of a specific category in the GL, e.g., customers, they are totalled and rolled up into one account (reconciliation account). The list of customer accounts (AR) is a sub ledger of the general ledger. Other sub ledgers are vendors (AP), fixed assets, material stock balances, work orders and capital projects.
u2022 Transactions posted to sub ledgers are automatically rolled up into the General Ledger reconciliation

Condition Types
Price elements are represented in the SAP system byg condition types. Price elements can be, for example, prices, surcharges, discounts, taxes or, freight, and are stored in the system in condition records.
We can, for example, define whether a discount is calculated as a percentage or a fixed amount using the condition type.
We specify an access sequence in every condition type. Thus, we define which fields the SAP system checks when searching for a valid condition record.
u2022 The pricing procedure groups all condition types together which the SAP system is to automatically take into account during pricing for a business transaction
u2022 Remember that we can only specify manually in a document those condition types which are contained in the pricing procedure.
u2022 We can change the outcome of pricing in the sales document manually. We can limit options for changing a condition type in this IMG step.
u2022 If we define wer own condition types, the key should start with the letter Z since SAP reserves these letters for that purpose in the standard system.
u2022 Do not change the condition types which are contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
Actions
1. Check to what extent we can use the condition types contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
2. Create new condition types by copying a similar conditions type and changing it according to wer requirements. One reason for creating a new condition type is we may require a calculation rule for a discount which is not avaialable in the standard system.
Specify an alphanumeric key which can have up to 4 digits, and a textual description. -
Difference Between Special Purpose Ledger and New General Ledger
Dear All,
Could any boy explain me the difference between Special Purpose Ledger and New General Ledger?
Regards
JSHi
General Ledger Accounting (FI-GL) (New) The central task of G/L accounting is to provide a comprehensive picture of external accounting and accounts. Recording all business transactions (primary postings as well as settlements from internal accounting) in a software system that is fully integrated with all the other operational areas of a company ensures that the accounting data is always complete and accurate. Beyond fulfilling the legal requirements, General Ledger Accounting also fulfills other requirements for modern accounting: - Parallel Accounting General Ledger Accounting allows you to perform parallel accounting by managing several parallel ledgers for different accounting principles. - Integration of Legal and Management Reporting In General Ledger Accounting, you can perform internal management reporting in parallel with legal reporting. For this purpose, the Profit Center Accounting functions are integrated with General Ledger Accounting. Furthermore, you can generate financial statements for any dimension (such as profit center). - Segment Reporting General Ledger Accounting supports the segment reports required by the accounting principles IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). For this purpose, General Ledger Accounting contains the Segment dimension. - Cost of Sales Accounting You can perform cost of sales accounting in General Ledger Accounting. For this purpose, General Ledger Accounting contains the Functional Area dimension. Features General Ledger Accounting comprises the following functions for entering and evaluating posting data: - Choice between group level or company level - Automatic and simultaneous posting of all subledger items in the appropriate general ledger accounts (reconciliation accounts) - Simultaneous updating of the parallel general ledgers and of the cost accounting areas - Real-time evaluation of and reporting on current posting data, in the form of account displays, financial statements with different balance sheet versions, and additional analyses. In this way, General Ledger Accounting automatically serves as a complete record of all business transactions. It is the central and up-to-date component for reporting. Individual transactions can be checked at any time in real time by displaying the original documents, line items, and monthly debits and credits at various levels such as: - Account information - Journals - Totals/transaction figures - Balance sheet/profit and loss evaluations However, SAP still offers to choose between the New GL and the old Classic GL way of accounting. There are certain limitations in the new GL and clients are adopting to the new gl concept.
