BAM and Sensors 040306

I have seen that in BPEL we have " Create Sensor action " and Create BAM Sensor action". I don't find any documentation about "Create BAM sensor action " in BPEL developer Guide. Where is it?
What is the best solution to implement sensors to comunicate with BAM ? using " Create Sensor action " and publish to a jms Topic or use " Create BAM sensor action" ?
thanks
Gonçalo Ribeiro

hello once again,
I need to configure BAM JNDI service Provider URL. and Initial context factory to get the information from a topic which is being written by a BPEL process sensor.
In my sensor I have:
Name: BAMPublisher
Publish type: jms Topic
Connection factory: jms/TopicConnectionFactory
Publish Target: jms/demoTopic
I have to get the jndi Name URL from my app server?! Where is it? The initial context factory?
Second as soon as I get the information from the topic how can We access to that information? Could you please point me to the right documentation?
Thanks

  • How to see data in BAM from sensor on BPEL activity?

Hello, I 'am working with BPEL on Jdeveloper (last version).
I have putted sensors on some activity of my process. On an other machine I have putted the BAM server (last version) which is ON and I have the BAM connection on Jdevlepper. Now I try to see data on BAM from sensor but I can't.
Can someone explain me how to do?
(I just can build some data just like in a data base with BAM architect but I can't read and put to graphics the ones from the sensors)
    Thank's much
    JAck

    Hello,
To answer your question, I have install BAM on the same machine where BPEL server is running.
Now I steel can't get sensor's data from BPEL:
With BAM architect I can build data, with BAM studio I can use that data to design graphics but when I try to feed data from BPEL it doesn't work because I just can't press the OK button!!
In BPEL : When I try to Create BAM sensor action (from structure panel), I can't generate the xsl map file no action is done when pressing OK, create mapping or edit mapping button!

  • BAM and BPEL

    Hi,

I want to connect BAM and BPEL through Jdeveloper sensor actions.
I am trying the OrderBooking tutorial.
When i try starting the SOA Suite i get error with opmn and the server is not coming up.
what should i do to bring up the SOA Suite when the BAM server is running.

    Hi
I am trying to connect BAM and BPEL using BAM sensors.
The BAM and BPEL servers are running on different machines.
after deploying the BPEL process when i check the sensor tab in bpel console
,the action shows the null, and no sensor values are displayed even after creating an instance the BPEL process.
where am i gong wrong ?
from where can i get more docs on BAM sensors and conneecting BAM and BPEL through BAM sensors.

  • Unable to send BPEL data to BAM using Sensor

    Dear All,
I did a simple Hello world process in Jdev and trying to send the same BAM using Sensor.
I am following this link to do the integration http://technology.amis.nl/2008/05/05/integrating-bpel-and-bam-in-oracle-11g-soa-suite/
But data is not going to BAM.
    Could you please suggest.
    Thanks,

    HI,
Are you getting any Error.while testing the application. If you could tel errors.I will help you.
I thought that you missed some configuration steps for BAM Adapter and BAM Connection factory properties.please check below link wherever you configured or not in your server.

  • BAM and Oracle application server 10.1.3???

    Hi,
I would like to understand more about integration between BAM and OAS.
I remember I read a document that stated that BAM was included (or was integrated) as part of OAS 10.1.3, however I installed it and still don;t see how it is integrating with OAS.
Also, in one of the Tutorials it mentions this:
"Note –if you are using Oracle Application Server with opmn process, the following
additional files are required in the above path:
    C:\OracleBAM\OC4J\opmn\lib\optic.jar
Copy the entire Application Server “opmn” directory to c:\oraclebam"
So... are there any additional steps for the OAS and BAM integration?
I am still learning BAM but mi goal is install it as part of EBS(order Manegemnet)-BPEL-OTM (oracle Transportation) integration installation I currently have.
If it can be integrated can it be done using iAS 10.1.2.0.2 instead?
    Thanks

Its recommended that you should use same versions of OAS and Oracle BAM.
For integration between OAS components and BAM you can check BAM tech notes (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/10.1.3/htdocs/1013_support.html#technotes)
    Hoping it will help you.

  • HP Photosmart 2610 All in One Printer Paper feeds OK but the software and sensors are a problem

HP Photosmart 2610 All in One Printer   Paper feeds OK but the software and sensors are not allowing paper to feed until several steps are taken first.
(I am using Windows 7.  I also use the virtual XP mode and mostly MS Office 2003 docs).
I have had this printer for several years and love it.  Before I toss it out, I thought I would check if I could get it to work properly before I buy another printer.  Note: I did put in a new HP black cartridge (because it was out of ink) but the printer was not working properly for several days before I changed the cartridge. The printer was at step 5 before ink change.
Lately, each time I turn on my printer, I have to go through the same routine
    1. The printer wants to align the cartridges so I push OK
    2. The paper feeds into the printer and stops at the exact place to start printing.
    3. Error message appears that it is out of paper.  So I press OK to continue.
    4. It says "aligning print cartridges" runs through 2 sheets of blank paper without trying to do anything and then states "cartridge alignment failed"  "Press OK to continue"
    5. Screen is now normal and it appears it is going to work.
    6. It makes no difference if I used the copy function OR when I send a print job from the computer, the paper feeds into the printer and stops at the exact place to start printing but nothing happens.
    7. Error message appears that it is out of paper. OR that it is the wrong size paper.  I pull the paper that was at the proper place to be printed from the printer and then the error message says "Paper jam.  Press OK to continue"
    8.  I press OK.  The printer will then quickly feed in and eject 2 sheets of paper before it will actually start printing the print job.  It will work fine after this as long as I print from the same document.
    9. If I want to print a different document then I have to start all over again at step 6 to get the printer to work.  If I shut the printer off I have to go back to step 1.
    What I have already tried
    A.  Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer driver direct from HP web site.  I have done this several times with both the basic driver download and the complete package download.
    B.  I have done a partial reset by unplugging the printer, and then re-plugging the printer while pushing the  "# and 3" buttons while turning on the printer.  I have done this several times.  Each time it will work fine until I try a different document of turn off the printer.
    C. I have downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor and used it several times.  It states that "everything checks out OK"
    D. I have downloaded the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility 4.0 but it does not work with my printer.
    E.  I have cleaned all the rollers and blown air throughout to make sure there were no bits of junk in the paper's path or blocking a sensor.
    F.  I have tried different brands and weights of paper (all 8½  x 11) but nothing works.
Most of the problems started when I added the printer to the virtual machine so I could print XP files.  This may just be a coincidence because the printer has the same problems when I use the copy function without the computer being on.
Thanks for looking at my issues.  Any help would certainly be appreciated.

I just tried using Notepad as you suggested and had the same result.  Paper feeds in stops at proper place and error message "out of paper"
I just put in two new HP ink cartridges because the other two were low and I was told that this might be the problem.
I seem to remember that the HP 2610 shows 2 "ink icons" in the lower left corner.  One for black and one for color.  The ink icons would change from completly full to just an outline as the amount of ink went down.  Currently the black ink icon is missing
This is a very frustrating problem because the printer works great after doing a few steps to get around the problem.  The fact that the problem reoccurs any time anything is changed is the major problem
Most of the problems started when I added the printer to the Windows 7 virtual machine so I could work with Windows XP programs.  This may just be a coincidence because the printer still has the same problems when I use the copy function without the computer even being on.
I want to thank you for all of your efforts.  Perhaps this is a unique problem that will never be solved and it is best to take my losses and buy a new printer.  As a last chance, if possible, could you refer my post to someone who is an expert with the HP 2610 printer.

  • Differences between Oracle BAM and Oracle BI and Question BAM  Data Objects

    Hi,
    I have two questions.
    1. Can someone tell me differences between Oracle BAM and Oracle BI?
My understanding about Oracle BAM is, we use BAM to build Dashboards or Reports.
We can also build DashBoards or reports using Oracle BI.
I am not able to understand why Oracle has two tools for same purpose?
Which tool is more powerful and user friendly(Oracle BI or Oracle BAM)?
    2. Every time we plan to develop Dashboard or report in BAM, we need to create BAM ADC Data Object to store Data (i.e first step is to get data from external database or application and second step is to store data in BAM ADC data object).
My understanding is we have an extra step(i.e creating Data Object) in Oracle BAM to develop a report or DashBoard
I am wrong pl correct me?

  • Failure messages to be displayed in BAM and ESB Portal

    Hi,
As per requirement, I need to display all resumable/Non-resumable messages in both BAM and ESB Portals.for resumable messages, admin will resubmit the messages from ESB Portal. Please let me know how to achieve this requirement.

I have a project requirement, where I have to show all failure messages(resumable\non-resumable) in BAM and ESB portal.
    Order Creation Process:
    1. Developed Main Orchestration and exposed as a webservice for front end client. There are sub -process orchestration involved
2.Front end client will consume Main Orchestration Service and submit the data
3.There are multiple sub -process orchestration are involved after receving the data from Main Orchestration
4.while executing Order Process, if any error occurs in any of the orchestration then those failure's to be displayed in BAM and ESB Management Portal
    5. Based on the Order ID  End User will need to search failure message details  from BAM
    6. The failure message will be resubmit from ESB Management Portal for further process.
Please let me know your thoughts on how to provide the solution for above approach

  • BAM and SoapUI

    Hi,
I'm newbie in Oracle BAM and I'm having problems using BAM with SoapUI, a test enviroment for webservices.
I send records, via XML, from SoapUI to BAM succesfully, but in date fields, if I keep this fields blank, a default date is received from BAM (01-01-1900 00:00:00).
I would like that field have been received with blanks (empty values).
    Somebody have an idea?
    Thanks.
    Luciano Gomes

    Hi,
What is the data type of the field in BAM Data Object?
I checked that if I have the type in BAM data object as dateTime and leave it Nullable, it keeps the null value without populating anything if the input has the field blank. On the other hand, if the data type is Timestamp, it populates the current timestamp from BAM Server.
    Cheers,

  • Need steps to configure BAM and DATAMART for Oracle BPM Enterprise

    Hi,
Need steps to configure BAM and DATAMART for both Oracle BPM 10.3 Enterprise Standalone and Oracle BPM 10.3 Enterprise Weblogic.
Configurations like BAM Updater Service, Process Data Mart Updater Service, Start Up / Shut Down of the service etc.

    Hi,
    To add system to solman:
    Go to SMSY and define:
    1) Server --> host name, IP etc
    2) DB --> DB details
    3) System --> R3, Netweaever etc, assign proper components, products
    4) define and assign logical components for the system defined in step 3
    5) generate RFC destionation to the satellite system
    6) Provided you have the necessary trusted authorization and if the RFCs are generated successfully then your task is done. Else you'll have to troubleshoot.
Once this is done, you need to goto SOLUTION_MANAGER and define
    1) new solution
    2) make necessary inclusion in Solution Landscape Maintenance
    3) include logical component
This completes the system setup for you.

  • Creating streams and sensor data hub

    Hi all,
I am working on the Getting Started example from OTN ( "HandsOnSession.pdf" )
and in the step to create stream and sensor data hub, am having a problem.
I am working with the Standalone SES v10.1.2 running on a Linux OS.
While running this command at the Linux Terminal,
    sqlplus system/welcome1@orcl
I get a -bash: sqlplus command not found error
I am in the <filepath>/edge/sql $ when I execute it.But I observed that my Oracle edge server install folder doesnot have a sqlplus folder which I think is by default installed in the Oracle_Home folder. There is a sqlj folder though , but am not familiar much with sqlj.
Could anyone advise on how to connect to the database and create he SDH tables.
Also in the sqlplus system/welcome1@orcl command, could anyone confirm if the syntax is as below,
    sqlplus <username>/<password>@orcl
    where
<username> = username used to install the Edge server install
<password> = password used to install the Edge server install
    would appreciate your response,
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay!
The EdgeServer doesn't have a full Oracle installation. Therefore a client tool such as sqlplus is not present. Install a Oracle Database on this machine (as I suspect you do not have a database yet) and use the sqlplus it comes with.

  • BAM and BRE

Can anyone provide basic introduction for BAM and BRE.
    Thanks
    Vinoth

    Hi Vinoth,
I quote the following from popular BizTalk books, which I feel is the best exact to give intro BAM and
    BRE
    BAM-Business Activity Monitoring:
When BizTalk is used to solve business problems, the processing within those solutions is often a black box, making it very difficult for business users and technical support personnel to get a view into
what is happening. This is true of not only BizTalk solutions but many IT projects that involve the processing of business data and logic. Providing visibility into this processing is critical to these users. Typically, they need to understand where backlogs
of processing occur and get a view as to why. They also need to understand the numbers and types of business transactions being processed.
Understanding where a given request or message is at any point in time may be problematic. You have the various BizTalk administration tools, but they paint the picture in a very technical way; they talk
about orchestrations and messages, which are opaque terms to anyone other than the developers, and they don’t really convey exactly what stage of processing they are currently in.
This is where Business Activity Monitoring comes in. BAM enables any messaging or business process to be fully instrumented in terms that any data consumer can understand.
    Reference:
    Professional BizTalk Server 2006
    BRE- Business Rules Engine:
Organizations may need to process information differently depending on the data submitted. In the case of BizTalk, information is submitted via a message, and data within that message may require special
processing once it has been received by an orchestration. The orchestration must be able to determine what that data is and how to process it. Additionally, rules around how that data is interpreted may change at any given time, even after the solution is
in production. For example, a rule may be required that allows processing messages as long as a specific field has a value less than 10, but must stop processing and notify an administrator when this value is equal to or exceeds 10. The ability to store and
access such a rule and to make it available for customization through a user-friendly interface is provided by the BizTalk business rules framework.

  • BAM and Firefox (non IE)

What is the plan for BAM and support for non IE browsers? The server broke the MS barrier with 11g - but what about the clients?

Take a look at BAM Data Control functionality in 11.1.1.2.0 (aka 11g PS1) release. This will allow you to expose BAM real-time data in any ADF page using ADF/DVT views that are active data enabled. This is supported on many browsers so at least end users could have dashboards that won't depend on IE.
BAM web applications such as Studio/Viewer/Architect/Admin still need IE. Our roadmap calls for removing this dependency in the next major release.

  • Integrate BAM and OSB

    Hi Friends,
    Need Help on following questions
    1. What are the different ways to integrate BAM and OSB?
    2. What is the recommended way and why?
    Thanks,
    Sachin

    1. What are the different ways to integrate BAM and OSB?
OSB and bam can be integrated using :
    1. Using JCA BAM adapter and making a Business Service of it in  OEPE( as we use for DB adapter ).
The use case provides high loose coupling as the BAM component is being exposed as webservice call and be uses by other enterprise service's
    2. BAM can be integrated using EMS ( Enterprise Messaging Sources ). EMS provides JMS connectivity to BAM Server.
So for this use case you have to enqueue your message to JMS queue and the sams JMS Queue is being used as EMS resource in BAM. This use case would add the overhead
of using JMS functionality , if persistence is needed then thus use case suite better.
    3. Database table can be used to push records to BAM by  using them as External data source.
So for this use case OSB will update the DB table and the same DB table will be used to as External Data source to update the Data Objects. Not prefered way !

  • BPEL-BAM JMS Sensor

    Hi,
I am using Oracle BPEL and BAM Versions 10.1.2.1.
I created sensors according to the below mentioned link
