BAPI return empty element.

Guys,
I have created one scenario SOAP -> BAPI (sync).
BAPI
ZMMF_GET_COMPANY
My BAPI have 10 elements and 9 return with values.
But i have 1 element with name "text1" and one return empty value always.
When i execute the BAPI using tcode se37, "text1" return value, for exemplo "test test test".
But when i execute in RFCAdapter, "text1" return empty value.
Can anybody helpme me?

Hey
I had the same issue with a standard BAPI some time ago.
The way BAPI is triggered in SE37 is different from the way BAPI is triggered when a request is send from XI.
suppose you want to fetch business partner data based upon business partner number,now this partner number has been configured to be of length 10 in BAPI,now suppose you execute the BAPI via SE37 and give the partner number of only 6 digits then 4 zeros will be padded and the partner number will be made of all 10 digits,but if you send a partner number of 6 digits from XI then no padding is done hence no records are pulled up(since partner number must be 10 digits and you have only 6).
Please try to test this and make sure you are giving correct values.
Thanx
Aamir

    But whenever I am trying to extract any of the output nodes I am getting an empty result. I can copy the whole dataset into similar kind of variable.
    But I am unable to get individual elements using XPATH.
    I tried using exslt function for node set and xslt 2.0 without avail.
    The namespaces might be the culprit here . The test method in the jdev is able to output a result but at runtime the xpath returns empty .
    I have created another transform where I try to copy data from the precious dataobject to a simple string in another data object .
    This is the test sample source xml for the transform created by jdev while testing with all namespaces, where I try to copy the data in a simple string in another data object.

  • Multiline BAPI return structure  and RFC Adapter

    Since SP14 RFC Adapter check return structure of RFC function.
    But how it works if BAPI returns multiline BAPIRET2?
    Will adapter loop all elements and perfom commit only if <b>all</b> alements don't have errors.

    I'am about this:
    <i>As of SP 14 support for commit handling for single BAPI calls was added to the RfcAdapter receiver channel. If activated in the receiver channel setting, the received XI message will be executed as synchronous RFC (sRFC) in the receiving system. This is also true for asynchronous (QoS EO) XI messages to receive and analyze the execution result by the RfcAdapter.
                   The received response is parsed by the RfcAdapter to get the BAPI return parameter with name "RETURN". This return parameter can be of BAPIRETURN, BAPIRET1 or BAPIRET2 types. The "RETURN" parameter is checked for the response status (field TYPE) which can take following values:
                  1. 'S' : Success
                  2. 'I' : Information
                  3. 'W' : Warning
                  4. ''  : Empty String
                  5. 'A' : Abort
                  6. 'E' : Error
                   If the response contains one amongst the first four response status then it implies that the BAPI was successful. If the response contains one amongst the last two response then the BAPI failed. If the BAPI "RETURN" parameter is of not of type ABAP structure rather of type ABAP table, a empty table is also considered as successful execution result.
                   In case of a successful execution the BAPI function module "BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT" is called within the same context to trigger the commit of the BAPI. In case of a failure the BAPI function module "BAPI_TRANSACTION_ROLLBACK" is executed by RFC Adapter which rolls back the changes.</i>

  • JDev deletes empty elements in transform activity

    Dear all,
    the XSD in my BPEL process defines a "Group" element:
    <xs:element name="Groups">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="Group" type="Group_Type" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    <xs:complexType name="Group_Type">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="id" type="xs:int"/>
    <xs:element name="name" type="xs:string"/>
    <xs:element name="desc" type="xs:string"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    As one can see, a "Group" element contains three mandatory elements named "id", "name" and "desc". This "Group" element is the output target of an XSLT transform activity in my BPEL process.
    In the output target, the "desc" element should be empty (<desc/> or <desc></desc>). Therefore, the corresponding XSLT should look like:
    <foo:Group>
    <foo:id>
    <xsl:value-of select="'do something'"/>
    </foo:id>
    <foo:name>
    <xsl:value-of select="'do something'"/>
    </foo:name>
    <foo:desc/>
    </foo:Group>
    First, it is not possible to define an empty element (<desc/>) in the graphical design modus of an XSLT transform activity. Or is there a workaround available?
    Second, when inserting the empty element in the source modus => saving the document => changing to the graphical design modus => do something in the graphical design modus => returning to the source modus, the empty element was deleted by JDeveloper! Is there a workaround for this very annoying bug of Jdev?
    Thanks in advance!
    Lars

    You can also append an xml fragment to put back the missing fields....for example:
    - Type: Append (Note, this is different than the copy operation)
    - From Type: XML Fragment
    - From Value:
    <ns4:ShipTo xmlns:ns4="http://www.globalcompany.com/ns/order">
    <ns4:Name>
    <ns4:First/>
    <ns4:Last/>
    </ns4:Name>
    </ns4:ShipTo>
    (Replace ns4 in this example with your namespace .)
    - To Type: Variable

  • How to handle where xmltype has empty elements

    Here is my problem:
    I have some information stored in table1 and some information in table2.These tables are joined with a key.
    Table2 has an xmltype column. That stores if
    anything (any info) has been overridden. That is has changed. There is information in this table even when nothing is overridden. In that
    case the xmltype has blank elements.
    In my query I have to display all records where the information has been overridden.That is fine as I extract from xmltype column using xmlsequence.
    The issue arises when I need to display information when it is not overridden. In that case since the xmltype has empty
    elements, the query doesnt return anything (NO RECORDS).Here it is not overridden
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <O><AR></AR>
    </O>Here is an example where it is overridden</br>
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <O><AR>
         <L id="A">
              <LL>4</LL>
         </L>
         <L id="B">
              <LL>2.5</LL>
         </L>
    </AR>
    </O>My query is something like:
    select....
    ,extractValue(k.column_value,'/L/@id') as lt,
    extractValue(k.column_value,'/L/LL') AS ll,
    FROM TABLE1 T1, TABLE2 T2,
    , table(xmlsequence(T2.XMLCOL.extract('/O/AR/L')))k
    WHERE ...So to tackle this problem of nothing being returned just because xmltype doesnt have overridden values, i have a query (using union to other)
    that says select null for the xmltype elements that I am selecting.
    I handle null as follows:
    select null as lt,null as ll......
    from ....This returns me a row even if something is overridden. I want a row from this null query only if it is not being returned from the other query.
    I know confusing but...:-(

    I am all set. Added something in where condition. Work around that would work:)

  • Regarding BAPI Return Table

    Hi all,
    I am having an issues, when the user enters the correct value into an input field then i am getting the output properly. But if he enters any wrong value a message is populated into the BAPI return table. So how do I check if the BAPI return table is empty or not. If it is empty then it has to open the output table and if it is not empty it has to show the error message as an pop-up or table format.
    Please reply, points will be rewarded.
    Thanks & Regards,
    M.Ramana Murthy

    Hi Ramana,
    If you want to capture the message returning from the BAPI which you are using then do the following:
    1.> Drag the line from the BAPI return port and link it to a form or to a table.
    2.> Then go to the form/table click the UIelement and in properties of that assign the default value which you want to display. It may be a message coming out of the BAPI.Through this way you can capture the values coming out of the BAPI

  • Identity service XPath extension ids:getGroupProperty returns empty

    HI All,
    We are using SOA Suite 11.1.6 for the current project and like to configure Active Directory as the identity provider. AD is working fine so far. Also, we use sAMAccountName as the user name attributes. The problem is that ids:getGroupProperty returns empty. For example, ids:getGroupProperty('group1','mail') return ''. Any idea?
    ids:getUserProperty works fine. The provider is configured with the following filters:
    user - (&(sAMAccountName=%u)(objectclass=user))
    group - (&(cn=%g)(objectclass=group))
    I did a LDAP search with the same group name and the search worked fine.
    Thanks in advance.

    The error:
    Error in evaluate <from> expression at line "116". The result is empty for the XPath expression : "/ns4:Fornecedor/ns4:Endereco/ns4:Rua"
    normally means that the XPATH query (in this case: /ns4:Fornecedor/ns4:Endereco/ns4:Rua) did not return any XML elements. I would check that BPEL is receiving a response back from the call to the PeopleSoft web service. If you can't see the response in the BPEL console try putting a checkpoint node after the receive but before you try to copy the variables. This will force the process to dehydrate and save the response to the database so you can see it in the console.
    To create a checkpoint node:
    Drag out a Java Embedding node. Put the Java call checkpoint(); in the body of the Java embedding function. I hope that helps.

    First of all, Enumerations and enums are completely different things. Don't use those terms interchangeably. Second, when posting code please highlight it in the editor and click the CODE button.
    Is the Enumeration empty, or does it not contain an element where getPortType() == CommPortIdentifier.PORT_SERIAL?

    Hi,
      I get an error in the BAPI Return for the Uploading the Service Contracts by LSMW. The Error Message is E BS No status object is available for &.Also want to know can we upload multiple line of header text for a Contract by this BAPI. If so then how would I do this , as the BAPI structure BAPISDTEXT has textline upto 132 characters. And I am take only one file in LSMW where the header & details come alongwith text. Or could also tell me the file structure of for the data upload. The legacy system sends multiple text in the header for a Contract.For Eg.
    Header1 Detail1 Text1
    HEader1 Detail2 Text2
    Header1 Detail3 Text3
    So I would need this text1TEXT2text3 in the Header Text of the Contracts. Or do I need the change the file structure. Many thanks for your time and help.

    Thanks Nablan, I could do that for multiple header coming in file. But I have a question for you on BAdI ALM_ME_006_GOODSMVT. The Movement type 961 for unplanned Materials comes to SAP and changes to 261 as maiantained by TCOKO table. To bypass this & retain the movement type 961 in SAP I'm using this BAdI. I could not find these details in any of the documentation that specifies keys passed in the result should be subset of the keys passed to the processAll method. Anyways, my problem is to invoke server-side code (avoid de-serialization) by passing a filter and then create a entirely new map (key and value will be different from the entries extracted from the passed filter) by reading the data from the passed entries. How can I implement it?
    I am thinking to use aggregator as they are read-only and faster but again how to implement it using:
    public Object aggregate(Set entries){
    Again, I am getting an empty Map so is it necessary that the object returned should have keys matching the set of the entries passed to this method.
    Secondly, there are other methods such as, finalizeResult() and init() if I extend AbstractAggregator, do I need to implement them and if yes, how? The entries set passed to the aggregate() method may not reside on the same node.
    Please advise!
    Regards,
    SHi S,
    the process() return value object, or the entry value objects in the map returned by processAll() can be arbitrary objects. So you just return a map from process(), and return a map as the entry value in the result map from processAll().
    The AbstractAggregator has a fairly badly documented contract in the Javadoc (does not properly cover the values received in different scenarios for invocation). You should probably read the section about it in the Coherence book, that explains leveraging AbstractAggregator in significantly more details. It also happens to be in the sample chapter, but I recommend reading the entire book.
    I am not sure about the issues relating to posting links to PDFs on Packt's webpage, so I won't do that. Please go to Packt's webpage (http://www.packtpub.com ), look for the Coherence book there and download the sample chapter (or order the book).
    In short, all 3 to-be-implemented methods (init(), process(), finalizeResult()) in AbstractAggregator are called both on the server and on the caller side. You can distinguish which side you are on from looking at both the passed in fFinal boolean parameter and the m_fParallel attribute tof the aggregator instance.
    There are 3 cases:
    - non-parallel aggregation processing extracted values (m_fParallel is false, I don't remember what fFinal is in this case),
    - parallel aggregation storage side processing extracted values (if I correctly remember, m_fParallel is true, fFinal is false),
    - parallel aggregation caller side processing parallel results (m_fParallel and fFinal are both true).
    Depending on which side you are on, the process method takes different object types (on server side it receievs the extracted value, on caller side it receives a parallel result object instance).
    You SHOULD NOT override any of the other methods (e.g. aggregate() which you mentioned).
    The advantage of this approach is that the AbstractAggregator subclass instance can pass itself off as a parallel-aggregator instance.
    You should put together a temporary result in a member attribute of the AbstractAggregator subclass, which also means that it will likely not be thread-safe, but at the moment it is not necessary for it to be thread-safe either as it is called only on a single-thread.
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • How to delete empty element in popup list

    I have a question about a suspicious behaviour in Forms Builder 10.1.2.0.2.
    When I have a list object (pop up list) I can define some values in the attribute palette of the object.
    So you can set a shown name and a value behind. In this little window to set the items of the popup list you get automatically a white empty item at the end of the list. When I click now on this empty item (you do so, when you want to add an item) Forms Builder automatically adds an new empty item at the end.
    When I click this new empty item, Forms Builder adss another empty one ... and so on.
    It´s very suspicious because, when I end this dialog with "OK", it will be saved and when I open the form (over web) I have at the end of the list one, two (or more) empty elements in list.
    But I can´t delete this empty ones from the list in Forms Builder.
    So my question:
    how can I delete empty items in a popup list??
    I try it with hit "del" button at keyboard or delete the set value for the item (I hope Forms Builder delete items without value). But all does not help.

    Thanks jwh for this great solution! :)
    On my german keyboard it is:
    ctrl+< for deleting a line
    ctrl+> (= ctrl+shift+<) for adding a new line
    Thanks! :)
    I have another question (you can maybe help me, too?).
    On this popup lists you can have several items. When you open a form (via web) and the list has more than x items (maybe 5 or 6) the form shows a scroll bar on the right side.
    Is there any poosibility to set how much items has to show and only show a scroll bar when there are more items in the list?
    Or other way: set the maximum of shown items so big, that there will be no scroll bar.

  • Empty Elements: Breach with Paragraph 2.1.4 of JSP 1.1 Specificat ion?

    Hi,
              I think I found a violation of the JSP1.1 spec and I'd like to know
              opinions if I am correct or if I missed something.
              This is what the JSP spec says on empty elements:
              2.1.4 Empty Elements
              Following the XML specification, an element described using an empty tag
              is
              indistinguishable from one using a start tag, an empty body, and an end
              tag.
              Thus there should be no difference between these two custom tags:
              1. <sw:cv key="string" number="1" />
              2. <sw:cv key="string" number="1"></sw:cv>
              While the first compiles fine, the second produces the following error
              message on WebLogic 5.1 SP9:

              description for tag 'cv' requires that the body be empty.
              probably occurred due to an error in /layouts/1029128.jsp line -1:
              I generate my JSPs using an XSLT transformation and the processor
              generates the tags with empty elements. I do not see a chance to change
              this behaviour. A possible workaround could be to allow a tag body, but
              I am afraid of possible side effects (performance, misuse of the tag).
              Would you agree that this behaviour is in contradiction to the
              specification?
              Thanks for your time!
