Barcode (code 39) PL SQL procedure

I would like to create a procedure to return the encoding required by code39 font (i.e free 3 of 9), for barcode.
Any ideas?

As far as I know a barcode is just a font. Put an asterisk before and after your text, that's it.
What kind of encoding do you need?

  • Passing value from ADF to BPEL, and to PL/SQL  procedure

    1. I have created BPEL which take 2 inputs and concatenate them.
    2. have created a PL/SQL procedure for invoking this BPEL( working fine).
    Now i need to create a simple ADF page which contain 2 text box, 2 for input and 1 for result(concatenate), this will take 2 inputs and send them into BPEL, this will invoke the BPEL process and perform the necessary concatenate function...
    in addition to this, i am passing code into PL/SQL procedure ...

    <soap:Body xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/OrderImportDemo">

    this code will take vaule from BPEL and run properly.
    can you please help me,

    thanks for help, but the problem is diff.
    i don't have any schema, what i want i need to create a adf page that will contain 3 tent field, 2 for input and 1 for output. when i will enter 2 input field and click on ok button, this will invoke BPEL, BPEL will take these 2 inputs and do the concat on this and send back to adf with result.

  • Block based on PL/SQL Procedure

    Hello,
    I have been thinking about building an architecture with
    database views to support block querying and stored procedures
    for DML. By doing this I keep the forms entirely seperated from
    the table model, which is good maintenance. Changes to the data
    model will affect the views and the stored procedures, not so
    much the forms. Another advantage is that block-fields that come
    from lookup-tables will be queryable and updateable without too
    much programming. And of course perfomance is good since all SQL
    is server-processed.
    Does anyone know where to look for documenation on basing a
    block on stored procedures ? The online help does not contain
    too much on this.
    Has anyone used this technique successfully and can tell me
    about a few advantages of it ? Disadvantages ?
    Regards
    /Stefan Nilsson, Sigma

    Yes, I've tried that since Forms 5.0. I remember 3 possible
    sources for the block, FROM CLAUSE SUBQUERY, TRANSACTIONAL
    TRIGGERS , and PROCEDURES.
    Advantages,
    It is now easier to design screen with any functionality, like
    blocks where you are going to manipulate columns from different
    tables. Exactly what you have in mind when you mentioned about
    views.
    It also supports sources other than relational tables .like
    the object tables or even non-Oracle data sources.
    All you have to code are procedures to support the SELECT,
    LOCK, INSERT, DELETE, and UPDATE functions.
    Disadvantages,
    You have to code advanced PL/SQL procedures. Price to pay for
    excellent functionality.
    I can't exactly remember the documentation, but there is a
    book titlted Advanced Developers or domething...

  • Add code to pl/sql pages from web generator designer

    Has anyone tryed to put code before pl/sql procedure that
    manages web pages with designer ?
    I'm more specific:
    i want to put pl/sql code on top the procedure "Forminsert"
    generated by designer; i know i can use text in the module but
    generator transform text in htp.p('text');
    Is there any solutions ?
    thanx
    Francesco Galante

    You can put code in the Event PreInsert.
    Example: Check web user with access control list.
    Define procedure checkACL(p_userid, p_role).
    Then in the PreInsert event put:
    BEGIN
    checkACL( owa_util.get_cgi_env('REMOTE_USER'),
    'ADMIN');
    END

  • Regarding the SQL procedure.

    HI All,
    I had a requirement where I had column which has multiple values seperated by semi-colons.I have to check whether these values are there in another table or not. I had to write this code in a SQL procedure. Can anybody help me out in simple way of doing this.
    Any help highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Venky

    set serveroutput on
    create or replace procedure testproc (instring varchar2,numval number) as
    colpos number;
    colvalue varchar2(20);
    prevcolpos number := 0;
    begin
    for cnt in 1..numval loop
    colpos:=instr(instring,';',prevcolpos+1);
    colvalue:=substr(instring,prevcolpos+1,(colpos-1)-prevcolpos);
    dbms_output.put_line(cnt||' '||colpos||' '||prevcolpos||' '||colvalue);
    prevcolpos:=colpos;
    end loop;
    colvalue:=substr(instring,prevcolpos+1,length(instring));
    dbms_output.put_line(colvalue);
    end;
    execute testproc('blah;blah1;blah2;blah3','3');
    Output:
    execute testproc('blah;blah1;blah2;blah3','3');
    This is more of a test case than a resolution, but it should put you on the right track. Probably will want to use a table type to store the data.

  • SQL Queries in Code V/s Stored Procedures

    Hi Friend,
    Can any one of you guide me with following..
    What is faster ? using SQL Queries in Java code or using Stored Procedures which are called from code?
    I understnd Stroed Procedures are faster and definitely it provides more maintainability.
    If any one can give me any links or resources which outlines pros and cons of using Stored Proc and SQL Queries embedded in Java than it would be a great help..
    If there are any articles which proves either of the above is a preferred way, that would also help..
    Appreciate the effort in advance !!
    Thanks
    Gurudatt

    Well one benefit of Stored Procs is that you "compile" it on the database whereas you might build your query on the fly in java... test coverage is important in order not to have such things as a typo in a column name....
    Still, if you change a table, you have to go through all the procedures in SQL and likely to do so in some of your business object... and trust me, that can be hell!
    It all depends on the use of the app...
    From my experience, Stored procedure are much faster than built-on-the-fly SQL (and quite faster than prepared statements depending on the JDBC driver, the re-use of connections etc...)....
    IMHO, you'd probably be wise to start of with prepared statements, and when the schema seems stable enough (ie unlikely to change), look for the slower queries and convert them to stroed procedures.
    If you don't have to support several databases and are tight on performance, you can even include some logic in your stored procedure (e.g. update several tables, based on various selects...etc...). The language is usually quite powerful, and that can save you the run-time of selecting, converting to object , process and update (i.e. several roud-trip between DB and app)...
    Tshcuss!

  • Error-code OWS-00037 with doc/lit WS for a pl/sql procedure in 10.1.3.1

    Hi.
    I'm having a problem when I generate a doc/lit webservice for a pl/sql procedure that returns a collection type containing complex types. During the generation of the service JDeveloper returns with a stack trace in which it complains about zero or more soap headers and it shows fault-code: OWS-00037.
    For clarity, I did not specify any soap headers in the wizard and also did not a add any type mappings.
    I will add the complete stack-trace later to this thread..
    Hope you can help me..
    -Tom

    Hi,
    Glad that somebody else too got this problem. Well, as I had mentioned in my previous posting too, I think there are some procedures in the package, dbms_lob, like the writeappend, createtemporary etc.. which is not found in my dbms_lob.sql file, I am using 8.0.5, but I found these procedures in the 8i, I think it is becos of that.
    By the way if anybody got this solution and got any workaround, please help me too.
    I am still waiting for the solution to that.

  • How to send a java array to a pl/sql procedure

    Hi,
    This is similar to a post about 6 months ago on retrieving pl/sql tables from a java application but I can't seem to figure out how to use what I learned there to solve this.
    In a java application I have a Long[] array, and in the database I have a pl/sql procedure which takes a numeric in parameter. I currently loop through the array in my java application and call the procedure multiple times. What I'd prefer to do is to be able to pass the entire array to a new procedure which performs the looping internally.

    Kathy,
    Search the archives of this forum and the JDBC forum for the terms STRUCT and ARRAY and you can find some sample code on the JDBC How-To Documents page and the JDBC Samples which can both be accessed from this page:

    Hi,
    1- Create a hidden item P27_USER_ID on page 27
    2- Change your code :
    SELECT ID, NAME, akt,
           CASE
              WHEN akt IS NULL
                 THEN    '< a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:27:&SESSION.:START_PROCESS:NO::P27_USER_ID:'

           -- refer to f?p=App:Page:Session:Request:Debug:ClearCache:itemNames:itemValues:PrinterFriendly
           END choice
      FROM users;
       And then
    DECLARE
       v_user_id   NUMBER (10);
    BEGIN
       --I want to read this value from the url
       IF :request = 'START_PROCESS'
       THEN
          v_user_id := :p27_user_id;
           --your code
       END IF;
    END;Hope this helps,

  • Execute CDC mappings from a PL/SQL procedure

    Hi,
    I´m using OWB 11.2.0.2 for Linux. I´ve created some CDC mappings to update cubes with changes coming from other tables and cubes (from the tables that implement those cubes with the relational option). The issues are:
    - The CDC mappings run successfully from the OWB (Project Navigator - Start), but I cannot execute them from a procedure in PL/SQL with the following code:
    PROCEDURE "PROC_RUNCDCMAPPINGS" IS
    --inicializar variables aquí
    RetVal NUMBER;
    P_ENV WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES;
    -- ventana principal
    BEGIN
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_RECARGA.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_TOR.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_TOAE.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_VIAJES.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_TICKETINCIDENCIA.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBO_LIQMONEDERO.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.CDC_LOAD_CUBOS_LIQTEMPORALES.MAIN(P_ENV);
    COMMIT;
    END;
    It doesn´t report any error (the value for RetVal after execution is 0), but the cubes are not loaded with changes, and the changes stored in the J$_%tables are not consumed.
    Some of the options that may impact in the mappings are:
    - All the CDC are of Simple type
    - There are more than one subscriber to consume the changes, as for some tables, its changes must feed more than one CDC.
    - All the mappings include only one execution unit per mapping.
    - The integration/load template is the default: DEFAULT_ORACLE_TARGET_CT
    Other question is: As I explained, I need more than one subscriber because same updates must be consumed by different CDC mappings, to load different cubes, but I´ve not been able to assign the subscribers to only the tables associated with them, so all the subscribers are subscribed to all the changes in all the CDC tables, but as many of those subscribers never consume the changes of same tables, in the J$_% tables remains the not consumed records, and I haven´t found the way to purge those tables (other than the delete from J$_), nor to assign the tables with the subscribers (so the subscribers are only subscribed to their interested changes, that will be consumed, so the tables will be emptied after the consumption).
    Any help with these problems will be greatly appreciated.
    Tell me if more info is needed to clarify the situation.
    Best regards,
    Ana

    Hi David,
    Thank you for your reply.
    These mappings are the mappings needed to update the cubes with the changes detected by the CDC system, they are located under the Mapping Templates folder and I´m using code templates for the control of the loading and the integration (the DEFAULT_ORACLE_TARGET_CT) mapping.
    What I need is to execute these mappings within a PL/SQL procedure that will be invoked from different tools.
    I´ve done it for regular mappings (not CDC mappings), and it works. The code is the same as for the CDC ones:
    PROCEDURE "PROC_RUNLOADMAPPINGS" IS
    --inicializar variables aquí
    RetVal NUMBER;
    P_ENV WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES;
    -- ventana principal
    BEGIN
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_RECARGA.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_TOR.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_TOAE.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_VIAJES.MAIN(P_ENV);
    RetVal:= BARIK.LOAD_CUBO_TICKETINCIDENCIA.MAIN(P_ENV);
    COMMIT;
    END;
    -- End of PROC_RUNLOADMAPPINGS;
    ,and when I run it, the mappings are executed, but with the CDC ones it doesn´t (even when no error is reported).
    I know that they are deployed in the selected agent (in my case the Default_Agent), but when I start them from the OWB, the mapping packages are created in the DB schema, so, I thought that maybe I could invoke them....so what you tell me is that the only way to invoke them is from SQL*Plus? not from a regular PL/SQL procedure?
    Thank you very much,
    Ana

  • How to accept user values into a pl/sql procedure or function on every execution

    As we accept user values on every execution in a C or a java program, is it possible to do so with a pl/sql procedure or a funtion without using parameters?
    I cannot use parameters because it is required to be interactive while accepting the user-values like,
    Please enter your date of birth in 'dd/mm/yyyy' format:

    It depends from where you are calling your PLSQL routine. If it is SQL*Plus then you can use & (ampersand) with the variable to be input at run time.
    If you are executing the PLSQL routine from another application (some front end application) then it's not possible. Because when a procedure is executing at server side, the front end application does not have control, and the control is only transfered back to front end application when the PLSQL routine either completes successfully or throws an exception.
    In either case, you can not go back to the PLSQL routine.
    In this case, what you can do is, write code in your front end application to get that variable value from user and then pass that value to PLSQL routine.

    Hi all
    I have set up a PL/SQL procedure that sets up the mime type etc.

    htp.p('</HTML>');
    end;

    What version are you on?
    Works fine for me on my 11g:
    SQL> create or replace procedure testxml (clob_out out clob)
      2  is
      3     l_clob   clob;
      4     l_ctx    dbms_xmlquery.ctxhandle;
      5  begin
      6     l_ctx := dbms_xmlquery.newcontext ('select * from dual');
      7     l_clob := dbms_xmlquery.getxml (l_ctx);
      8     clob_out := l_clob;
      9     dbms_xmlquery.closecontext (l_ctx);
    10  end testxml;
    11  /
    Procedure created.
    SQL>
    SQL> variable vout clob;
    SQL>
    SQL> exec testxml (:vout)
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL>
    SQL> print vout
    VOUT
    <?xml version = '1.0'?>
    <ROWSET>
       <ROW num="1">
          <DUMMY>X</DUMMY>
       </ROW>
    </ROWSET>But definitely you can optimize your proc a bit: Try
    create or replace procedure testxml (clob_out in out nocopy clob)
    is
       l_ctx    dbms_xmlquery.ctxhandle;
    begin
       l_ctx := dbms_xmlquery.newcontext ('select * from dual');
       clob_out := dbms_xmlquery.getxml (l_ctx);
       dbms_xmlquery.closecontext (l_ctx);
    end testxml;
    /
