Base Font Size REALLY TINY in JEditorPane

Ok--
I am writing a simple html-viewer for the "Help" frame of a larger application...
I have it working, except I have encountered this strange issue--
The fonts are TINY.... so tiny, that some of the little sublinks are blurs....
How can you rectify the base level of the font size for all documents rendered by the JEditorPane?
ALSO--extra bonus if you can re-clue me into how to start a JFrame not mostly-minimized (IE- equal to the size the EditorPane should be)

The answer to the second question would be:
set the preferred size for the EditorPane and call the pack method on your JFrame before setting it visible.

On second thought -- the way PB does persistent font size chugs is annoying. it first renders each new page at the STD size, then snaps it up to new size. This makes page loading slower by noticeable amount. Very annoying. Looking elsewhere now.

Different font sizes in Explorer and Safari

Hi there, before I go completely nuts can someone give me a
hand with figuring out how I can get my plain old body text to
display at the same size in both Explorer and Safari.
I am using a Mac myself, but when entering text at size 1, it
is displaying larger in Explorer (at about the size I want) and
very small in Safari (too small to be easily readable). I have done
some research and thought cascading style sheets might be the way
to go but I have also read that the some text problems occur when
using cascading style sheets.
I haven't bothered with them previously as there hasn't been
that much text to bother with them.
Has anyone got any tips, or has used CSS to fix this problem?

I would be interested in hearing from a PC user to see if they are
seeing the same thing.

You can define your text sizes in many different ways:
points, pixels, em,
percentages, etc.
I personally use a percentage to define my base font-size in
my style sheet,
and then declare different text sizes in em's for different
selectors. I'd
stay away from points (which it sounds like you're using them
- due to the
fact that cross-browser display varies). I'd also stay away
from pixels,
because IE users can not resize their browser text size.
My personal suggestion would be to use em's to declare your
font sizes. Here
is an example of something you could put in your CSS document
(which you'll
want to start using):
body { font-size: 100%; }
.text1 { font-size: .75em }

I have been using projectparfait / (now assets) since a very long time and I must say it changed my whole workflow regarding front end development. Being able to quickly look up the font-sizes and line height is/was for me one of the most valuable features. Now since a little while, all the font-sizes/line heights have a scaling factor applied to it which is more than annoying, it basicly make this tool useless to me, there are still features like the measuring tool which are great but ultimately i have to open the files with photoshop which I try to avoid as much as I can.
It would be great if you guys could look into this.

Hi Futureburo, sorry that you're having problems with Extract!
Just to check, have you changed the Preferred Font Unit or Base Font Size? That would change the measurements your getting in the CSS.

Increase default font size??

Hi,
I'm using a Macbook Pro running at 1920 x 1200. The real estate is perfect for when I'm using Final Cut Studio but there's a huge problem. The font sizes are tiny. Is there any way to increase the default OS X font size?

the general answer is: you can't. it will be possible once resolution independence is fully supported. it exists in leopard but is so extremely buggy that I don't even want to explain how to use it. it might be better implemented in snow leopard once it comes out. in the meantime you can use TinkerTool to change SOME fonts.

Increase Font-Size Using A Slider

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.
I have all of the content in my tables set to 10pt using the following code in the .css file:

font-size: 10pt;
}I would like to provide the user with a slider to be able to increase the font incrementally (2pts each up to 20pt).
I assume I need to set a variable in a backing bean but I am not sure how to access the backing bean from the css file.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
You can directly refer backing bean in the Font size property of component. I don't think we can access backing bean inside css but you can set the base font size using CSS then allow user to modify using backing bean.

I want to know if there is a way to change fonts in Nokia handsets? I would want to increase the font size as I find the current font size really small to read. What should I do to help improve accessibility on my phone? PLEASE HELP!!!

Is it yet possible to change all global font sizes in thunderbird?

I see there are several posts about the base font sizes in thunderbird but have you actually solved this yet please?

E60 - FONT SIZE

I believe this issue should be taken over by Nokia for resolution. Font size is just too small!! I know that by having high resolution screen fonts are small but as in other Nokia phones ( I also use a 6125 ) you can select font size from small/medium/large. Nokia should implement this function in the E-series too. IT IS JUST UNREADABLE!

Couldn't agree more. I have an E50 and although I really rate the phone as a whole, the font size really cripples it for effective use.

Font Size in Update...Really? I mean REALLY???

Dear Skype...I thought the tiny font absurdity really could not be surpassed. But - O.M.G. - you've again outdone yourselves.
My Skype just "updated" (cough) and the fonts are even SMALLER. Are you kidding me, seriously!?!? The contact list and main window area are now approximately 1 pt. font. ONE POINT. If that.
This is about the 6th "update" where the contacts and main window fonts have shrunk. WTF?
This is NOT acceptable, and any programmer with the IQ of a half dead barnacle could EASILY fix via code tweaks in half a coffee break. Utterly astonishing that instead, they SHRUNK it. Again. See the image below, of the legible menu bar, but the almost invisible window text. Good effing luck reading that one.
Again I ask, why can we so easily adjust fonts on the stupid forum, but not on Skype? Why do you refuse to fix it each "update" and instead go smaller and smaller?

Actually, the fonts are larger, the 6.21 uses 8 pts Tahoma (mine does atleast) and the 7.x uses 10 pts <something>. You are free to change the fonts and size in tools > options > Chat & IM > chat apperance > change fonts (does'nt get any easier than that).
Keep in mind that people generally want the smallest font they can live with, to cram the most into the chat window etc.

Tiny font size

Hi,
I am using a 20 inch screen with a native resolution of 1600 x 1200. The font size of the articles and blogs appears really tiny and thus hard to read.
I would suggest to use the same font size as in the forums.
Or at least make the font size customizable for the user. If I use Ctrl+Mouse wheel I can change the font size of the left navigation pane but unfortunately it has no effect on the content pane of articles and blogs.

But in future I will leave the font size as default and hope that the font become bigger in standard. My eyes are not the best.

*fixed* Really tiny fonts problem

Hi there, i've been a happy archlinux user for quite some time but recently I have developed a problem that I can't find a solution to.
A few weeks ago I got myself a samsung HDTV to use as a monitor and now the fonts in my system behave really strangely. In gnome everything is fine, but GDM, FVWM-Crystal and XFCE4 have really, really tiny fonts. The fonts are so small that I can't even read them.
Can anyone suggest a fix? I tried "startx --dpi 100" but nothing changed.....

Can hardly read tiny font on my Juno email page and can't find how to change font size or color, which is light blue.

That's it in a nutshell. I never had this problem with IE, but when I changed to Firefox suddenly there's all my emails listed in tiny blue font. Can't find anything on the Address Bar to change it.
When I open the emails, they're fine--but the page listing them is awful. And light blue font on white background makes reading it more painful on the eyes.

My wife had the same problem. Click on the tools icon in your web browser and go to the "zoom" feature. You can adjust the font size there.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the function to reseize the Font in an iBook is not functioning properly.
I recommend a few things here. First close all the apps that are running in the background:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

When you have done that, restart the phone, and try again.
If the issue persists, I would follow these steps from the article:

2. Check for app updates
You can setup apps to update automatically in Settings > iTunes & App Store, but make sure that your apps are up to date:

3. Install another app from the App Store

Tap and hold any app icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle and show a small "x" in the top-right corner of the app.
Tap the "x" in the corner of the app you want to delete.
Tap Delete to remove the app and all of its data from your device.
Press the Home button.
Go to the App Store.
Search for the app and then download it again.
