Basic Level: JDK Installation Query.

While downloading the JDK 6 from Sun.com, It gives two options of download JDK for Windows users.
1. Windows Offline Installation &
2. Windows Online Installation.
What is the difference between Offline and Online Installation?

Offline:download file size is 65 MB and the installation is in your localhost.
Online:download size is 350KB but installation required network connection for download of necessary file from sun website

I hope you can help. I am trying to create a formula in a query for FIAR Line Item Cube (0fiar_c03). I would like to calculate the hightest number of days past due for open line items. There is an operator 'high' in basic functions within the query formula. Is it possible to use this?

There is a workaround usind conditions.That is you can try to filter the top 10 % or top 10 after calculating the no of days past.However this way you will not be displaying complete dataset

Hyperlink on field in Basic list of ABAP Query

Dear All,
Could somebody tell me, if its possible to have a hyperlink on a field in the Basic list of ABAP Query (SQ01,SQ02).
Example :- There is a basic list which has the field MARA-MATNR displayed.There should be a hyperlink on this field, such that when the user clicks on it , the transaction MM03 is called.

This is one example to call the transaction.

Fail on jdk installation

I get a verify error during a jdk installation on Sun Download Manager. How to solve this problem so that I can finish the installation?

How to get JDK installation path

Hi,
I would like to get JDK installation path in linux, is there any way to get the same.
For example I have installed JDK in "/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1" I need this path..
It would be great if any one help me solve this.

JDK installation finished with error code -3

I tried to use the installer for netbeans IDE + jdk (jdk-7u21-nb-7_3-windows-i586.exe). All of the netbeans stuff is installed fine, but the jdk part fails, but at least this time it lets me know "Installation of JDK 7 Update 21 was not completed."
The log files just say there is an exception at org.netbeans.installer.utils.exceptions.InstallationException: JDK installation finished with error code -3.
So it has worked fine on my other machine, I am at a loss here. Sorry again that I couldn't figure out where to post this.

Basic Level Trigger Detection

Hi..
I am new to LabVIEW so please bear with me.. I am trying to measure the RPM of my motor which has an optical pick up tachometer attached to it.. The signal is analog and has two states
1. 0 (here the output is in the order of millivolts and is very low)
2. 1 (Here the outout is a steady 10V)
i need to find the time between the two leading edges of the high state so that i can convert it to an RPM. but my basic level trigger detection always outputs a FALSE value even if the signal is above the set LEVEL. hence i am not able to get a time stamp differnce at all..
i dont know if there is a better way to do this. its basically just measring the pulses of my signal. Can anyone suggest a way

Basic level trigger reset

Hi,
Can Anyone explain to me about the "Basic Level trigger detection.vi". I tried using that and it works fine but i cant seem to reset the trigger... What does resetting the trigger do? What is hysteresis for?

Hello Sebastian,
Hyteresis is used to avoid problems due to noise during the electrical interpretation of an input signal level. The following link tells you a bit more about the Schmitt Trigger that uses hysteresis. Regarding the hysteresis input of the "Basic Level trigger detection.vi" this is the way it works:
hysteresis specifies the amount above and below level through which signal in must pass before a trigger level crossing is detected. Trigger hysteresis is used to prevent noise from causing a false trigger. For a rising edge slope, the signal must pass below level – hysteresis before a trigger level crossing is detected. For a falling edge slope, the signal must pass above level + hysteresis before a trigger level crossing is detected
The reset signal is used to force the reset of the input signal on the next call of the VI. If such a reset is inactive, the VI stores the last input signal value and will use it as the initial value the next time the VI is called. Please note that this input is defined as FALSE by default

Basic level trigger

anyone pls help
i am using labview 7.1
with the vi 'basic level trigger', i need to determine the location of signal with the threshold level. for what i know, the vi can only detect once within one sampled block of data. if within one sampled block of data, it consists of many curves?with the same threshold level value, i need to determine many location(time/index), how m i going to do?

If I delete the purchase details/line item, the supplier site can be changed.

JDK installs JRE in 'default' folder (only)

The JDK (j2sdk-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe) installs both the JRE and the JDK.
However, there is an issue if you intend to install the JDK in a folder other than the default, which is: 'c:\program files'. In that case, the JDK installs correctly, but the JRE will still install in 'program files' regardless. This creates potential conflicts with some programs, and the 'Java Home' variable in the registry will be incorrectly reflected as within 'program files'.
If you need to install the JDK in a directory other than the default, you can work around this issue by first dowloading and installing the JRE by itself. Select 'custom' install and indicate the name of the folder where you want the JRE installed. Then download and install the JDK.
If you have already installed the JDK and there is already a 'java' folder under 'c:\program files', first uninstall the JRE using Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs, and then download and reinstall the JRE by itself. Select 'custom' install and indicate the name of the folder where you want the JRE installed.
When the installation is complete, check that there is no 'java' folder under 'c:\program files'.

Hi,
Install weblogic, SOA and OIM binaries in the second host. Stop OIM and SOA servers in the first host.
Since you are done with installing OIM and configuring domain on one host, you login to the weblogic console and from server create two managed servers one for SOA and another for OIM with listen address and port of the second host.
From Clusters create two clusters, one for SOA and another for OIM. Add the oim servers to the OIM cluster and SOA servers to the SOA cluster.
Create Two machines with host addresses of two hosts and node manager listen ports.
Add weblogic admin server, oim server and soa server of first host to first machine and oim server and soa server of the second host to second machine.(Second machine wont have weblogic admin server)
Run the pack.sh utility to pack the domain from first host, this will create a jar out of your domain in first machine.
In the second machine run unpack.sh which will unpack the jar in the second machine.

Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3 Installation Query

I have Windows 7 (64-bit OS) & i'd like to install Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3 (i know it's not the newest).
Would you please provide me with a link for downloading the suitable Weblogic Server package & net installer?

Yes, you should download Weblogic Server 10.3.3 Generic Installer which is like a .JAR file (sometimes .zip but rename as .jar file). In the below link, for weblogic server 10.3.3 row, on right side, click on + icon (See All Files). There in the last column you will see 64 bit installer (wls1033_generic.jar).

Just refer online docs for 64 bit installation. Make sure that first you download 64 bit jdk (Sun or JRockit). Set this in PATH. When you run java -version, it should refer this 64 bit jdk. Then run command like java -d64 -jar wls1033_generic.jar (if -d64 do not work, try -D64). Basically generic installer for 64 bit will not have any JDK built in. You have to download it first and then use it for installing weblogic.

Issue with multiple instances of OC4J and one JDK installation

Hi,
I've successfully installed two instances of OC4J 10g (10.1.3.0.0) on a single server and am able to run with two differently named JDK 5.0 installs.
However, I've not been able to concurrently run both instances with a single JDK. The 2nd OC4J instance starts, but then stops immediately with a JVM termination.
Does anyone have an idea of the cause and a possible solution to the problem, as the current arrangement adds a level of complexity to upgrades that I'd like to remove?

I run two OC4J 10.1.3.1 instances in parallel without any problem. Both instances use the same JDK and run without any problems. Seems you have some problems in you configuration.
