Basic tips to recover MDF file from corrupted SQL server

Hi users,
share the basic tips of MDF file recovery with good example and when the tool support with all over MS windows and MS SQL server.

Basic solution to recover MDF file from corruption is to run DBCC statements. It is a set of SQL statements -
1. Dbcc checkdb ('database_name') with no_infomsgs
You do not need to repair file if the above statement is executed without any errors. Before executing the repair operation, you need to set the database in single user mode by executing:
2. Alter database 'database_name' set SINGLE_USER
You can now start repairing process by using Repair_Rebuild model by executing:
3. Dbcc checkdb('database_name', REPAIR_REBUILD)
If this statement executes successfully, then execute 5.5 else execute:
4. Dbcc checkdb('database_name', REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS)
This statement may lead to data loss. If it is executed properly then execute 5.5 else execute:
5. 5.1 Alter database 'database_name' set EMERGENCY
5.2 Alter database 'database_name' set SINGLE_USER
5.3 Dbcc checkdb ('database_name', REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS) with no_infomsgs, all_errormsgs
5.4 Alter database 'database_name' set ONLINE
5.5 Alter database 'database_name' set MULTI_USER

  • Using Data Rescue II to recover lost files from corrupt hard drive!!!

OK I am terribly confused. I found out my MacBook Pro hard drive is corrupt and I can't even start up my computer. I was told to get Data Rescue II, another Mac, and an external hard drive.
I have all of the above but have no idea how to make it work!! How do I access the corrupt HD on the current iMac I am using with Data Rescue and then transfer the found files to the external HD??? Please I need help asap!!

First, if you have an external drive, then install OS X on the external drive. Boot from the external drive, install Data Rescue, then run Data Rescue and see if you are able to recover any files from the bad drive.
You boot from the external drive by restarting the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the external drive then click on the down arrow button.
If you do not have an external drive then you can try connecting the two computers with a FireWire cable and booting the computer with the bad drive into Target Disk Mode. Boot the good computer normally. Install Data Rescue and run it to see if you can recover anything from the bad drive. My guess is this method will not likely work, but one never knows without trying.
BTW, have you tried the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • Connecting to sql server database mdf file without installing sql server on client machine?

I am creating a window application that need to use sql server database. I want to install this application to client machine without installing sql server so that my application can still connect to a database i.e mdf file that i will be providing at client
    system.
How can i connect to a database(mdf) on client machine through my window application without installing sql server. ? I dont know is it possible or not.
If possible what will be the connection string in that case. Database need not be used in network.

you cant connect and view the internals of mdf file unless it being attached to a sql server instance as a database.
The sql server instance can be installed in any box which is in the same domain and then you can connect from your application to it.

My macbook pro hard drive went bad and i bought a new one and installed it. Now i have the old corrupted hard drive in my hand and i am looking to recover my files from it, any suggestions please? too bad i never backed them up.

After you have installed the OSX on the new HDD in your MBP, install the old HDD in an enclosure and connect it to your MBP via USB.  Then try to drag and drop  your data to the new HDD.
If this proves unsuccessful, you may look for data recovery software on the Internet.  There will be free trails to see if it will work or not.  If the trial suggests that it will work, then you will have to purchase the software.
The last resort is a professional data recovery service that will offer NO guarantees and charge a lot of money.
As you now can appreciate, backups eliminate such predicaments.
    Ciao.

  • HT201250 Is there a possibility to recover erased files from an external hard drive that was reformatted by the Time Machine?

Is there a possibility to recover erased files from an external hard drive that was reformatted by the Time Machine?

    Basics of File Recovery
    Files in Trash
If you simply put files in the Trash you can restore them by opening the Trash (left-click on the Trash icon) and drag the files from the Trash to your Desktop or other desired location.  OS X also provides a short-cut to undo the last item moved to the Trash -press COMMAND-Z.
If you empty the Trash the files are gone. If a program does an immediate delete rather than moving files to the Trash, then the files are gone.  Recovery is possible but you must not allow any additional writes to the hard drive - shut it down. When files are deleted only the directory entries, not the files themselves, is modified. The space occupied by the files has been returned to the system as available for storage, but the files are still on the drive. Writing to the drive will then eventually overwrite the space once occupied by the deleted files in which case the files are lost permanently. Also if you save a file over an existing file of the same name, then the old file is overwritten and cannot be recovered.
    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

  • Is it possible to recover individual files from my Macbook Pro's HD even if it won't boot?

Recently, my Macbook Pro would slow down longer than usual as I was performing menial tasks, like internet surfing, and so I tried to clear the memory by restarting it. It only went up to a white screen from there, and when I turned it off by holding the power button and turned it back on, it would only boot up to the white screen with the Apple logo and a spinning wheel and progress bar below it.
Mine is a late-2011 13-in Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion. I've tried every way that I've found to try and repair the disk, like using Disk Utility to try and repair my HD (I get the message telling me to back up as many files as possible, then reformatting my hard drive), to "fsck"-ing (I get the messages "Incorrect block count for file live.4.indexPositions" and "disk0s2: I/O error"), and even to using Sungle-User mode to try and delete that "live.4.indexPositions" file (I get told that no such file exists).
I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that my only remaining option is to reformat my HD, but I was wondering if it was possible for me to maybe cut and paste some of my documents and pictures to an external HD before I reformatted because I don't have them anywhere else. Is it possible? I know I should've made a back-up before it all happened, but alas, my lack of a big-enough external HD rendered me un-cautious.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Your hard drive is broken and you can't erase it. The only option you have is to take it to a company that can recover your files from the hard disk, because you can't do anything with it.
If you want, you can try to take it out, put a new hard disk and install Mac OS X. Then, use a USB to SATA adapter to connect the old hard drive to your MacBook and try to recover your files, but probably you won't be able to access to the data

Is it possible to recover deleted files from the Microsoft Word app for iPhone? I am desperate.

From the Microsoft Word app they say "Access Word documents from OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint" so it sounds like you can specify where they are saved. However, my guess would be that the default will be OneDrive.
To the OP: Have you tried logging into onedrive.live.com to see if you can see your letter there?

    It's good for that . . .
But also I don't keep all my stuff in my Mac.
    But not for that.
This older and not day-by-day usage files I want to store in the time machine.
You can do that (see below), but how are you going to back them up?   If your only copies are on the TC, when (not if) it fails, you risk losing your only copy of the data.
Is it possible to split TC in two partitions.
No, but there are some workarounds, including making a fixed-size disk image on it to "reserve" some space.  See #Q3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule.
But you still won't have backups of the stuff you put there.
You don't say what kind of Mac you have.  If it's a desktop model, just keep the external HD connected to it, and let Time Machine back it up along with your internal HD.
However, it sounds like you may have a laptop, where that's not going to be convenient.  In that case, your best bet might be to copy the external HD to a disk image on the TC as above, then keep the HD in a safe place.
To finish, when i enter the TC and go through the Time line how can I get a file from there and move it back to Mac hd.
Via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
You might also want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse the rest of the FAQ.

  • Recover missing files from FAT32 SD card?

I got back from a trip and used the SD card slot in my MacBook Pro to import my photos -- first into Aperture, and then using Image Capture to make a second copy as regular image files. Then I used Image Capture to delete the files from the card.
So far, so good....except nearly 300 photos have are missing -- the last 300 I took on the card. If I look at the card in the Finder now (it's FAT32), there aren't any photos on it. But there is still over 3GB of data, suggesting the missing photos' data is on there somewhere.
Any suggestions for how to recover it? TechTool Pro doesn't see the card at all (maybe doesn't support FAT32?).
    Thanks.

You can follow the way to see how to recover deleted files from sd card. Connect the data cable for the card reader to an empty USB port on your computer. Insert the SD card into the external or built-in card reader. Right-click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop, then click "Open." Highlight and select the deleted files on the SD card you want to restore to the device. Right-click one of the selected files on the SD card and then click "Restore." Besides, you can also use Data Recvoery to restore your data even your SD card is damaged.

How i can recover deleted files from icloud,,I had a backup copy on iCloud for whatsapp application and I lost it,,I need bring it back what I have to do

You can't download pictures from iCloud by logging into icloud.com.  If you deleted pictures from camera roll AND photo stream, the only possibility is preforming a restore from an iCloud backup, assuming the backup has the pictures in it.  (Many users have been unable to restore and get back their pictures.)
If the restore doesn't have all the pictures, then they are gone.
In the future, use photo stream to sync photos from an iPhone to a computer, then copy the photos on the computer from the photo stream album into a permanent album.  Photo stream pics stay there only for 30 days, and only up to 1000 photos are stored.  Don't use photo stream as a storage medium, it's only for copying photos from one device to another.  Always copy (either via USB cable or photo stream) to a computer and then move to an album.
