Batch preloading

I would like to preload several thumbnails at once. What I
mean by that
is that I would load for example 10 jpgs that each will by
20k, but the
preloader would show progress for all of them at 200k. Of
course I would
like this to be dynamic, where flash will look and see how
large the
jpgs are to determining how much to preload. Is this
possible, or oven
good to do?
Thanks,
Brian

For AS2:
Its not - as I understand it - possible to do this accurately
without letting flash know the total bytesizes before hand. Flash
can't check the size before downloading. And even as it starts, the
information is not correct until the first onLoadProgress event for
each MovieClipLoader. There are two ways to overcome this if you
have a 'MultiLoader' style class which either queues or attempts
multiple simultaneous downloads.
1. To accurately reflect the progress, store the information
about the jpgs in an external xml file. So the xml would have the
image names, their urls and their total byte size as well. With
this data ahead of the loading process its then possible to create
the type of accurate feedback of progress that you want. The data
you get from a MovieClipLoader is incorrect in the early stages of
a load. This definitely applies to getBytesTotal - I can't remember
if getBytesLoaded is incorrect data as well before the first
onLoadProgress event. So if you do it this way (and the data about
the images in the xml is correct) you should just maintain an array
of BytesLoaded data which is updated at the correct index for each
loading clip from your onLoadProgress events. And you can dispatch
a groupProgress event which would give the sum of the elements in
the array as the groupBytesLoaded.
2. Another option is to check the validity of each clip's
data first before reporting it as part of the total. You only
report the group's progress in terms of a) valid bytesLoaded b)
valid bytesTotal c)number of 'valid' clips as a percent of total
number of clips. In this case a/b * c is an approximation of the
group progress. I works OK if the images are all going to be around
the same byte size, but it is only an 'approximation' attributing
an equal proportion of the total group progress to each image.
I very recently built a class that queues image loading using
the second approach above, inspired by some work David Stiller had
done on a MultiLoader class and the associated comments in his
blog, but using a different approach for validating individual clip
data and handling of individual MovieClipLoader listeners. You
might want to read it - David outlines some of the issues in more
detail with examples here:

  • JavaFX - Image preloading problem

    Hi,
    I try to use ImageView and face some problems with image preloading.
    Here is the code related to the component that has problems. The component extends CustomNode.
    in class attributes declaration:
    var imgNodes: ImageView[];
    // list of url of images to display
    public-init var imgs: String[];
    in create function:
    for(indice in [0..batch]){
    var view= ImageView{
    fitWidth:100
    fitHeight:100
    translateX: (110 * indice)
    preserveRatio: true
    cursor: Cursor.HAND
    insert view into imgNodes;
    on an image loading function:
    for(indice in [0..batch]){
    imgNodes[indice].image = Image{
    width: 100
    height: 100
    url: imgs[firstItem+indice]
    preserveRatio: true
    backgroundLoading: true
    with backgroundLoading set to true, the images are not displayed. When setting it to false, the images appear. So the urls passed to Image are ok.
    If I display the fields error and progress of the Image components, both have the value 0.
    I have other components that use preloading and they are working great before showing the problematic component. After, preloading does not work anymore.
    It looks like as if the thread used to preload images is blocked.
    Can anyone help me with it?
    Thanks in advance for your help

    I'm not shure but i think the only group component wich is updated after insert or delete is a Group, so there is the same problem with V/HBox.
    Then this code work for me

  • Microsoft SQL 2005 preload problem

    Hi Guys,
    First post! I took receipt of my W520 a few weeks ago. It is great, very pleased with it on the whole.
    There is one problem, however. I play a fair amount of recreational card games over the internet. This requires a program which converts the text file “hand histories” into postgreSQL server data to make it quickly readable and provide tracking for win/loss among a whole host of other statistical things.
    Unfortunately after going through their troubleshooting numerous times, going through factory restore and repeating the process, I still cannot get my SQL server to automatically start. Believe me, I have tried everything. Running them all as admin, editing the startup in the windows “services” dialog etc etc. The server does start manually and the program works fine, but every time I start it I have to do it manually and it is irritating. It should just start up in the background but it doesn’t.
    I believe it is the Microsoft SQL 2005 express that is somehow blocking the auto start. Basically, I want my Lenovo as it is, just without the preloaded SQL server. Using the factory restore just reloads it back on and when I manually uninstall the SQL server I still have the same problem. I believe it leaves a lot of little nuggets behind when you uninstall it through the standard W7 “uninstall a program” and the full uninstall looks a long and difficult process, with no guarantee of really removing everything.
    So, the plan is to install a bare copy of W7 using a borrowed disk, install my own personal SQL program and test to see if that works. I am almost certain it will. From there, I plan to build back my programs on top so I essentially have my PC now, bar the bundled SQL 2005 express or whatever it is. Following this I will make a system image and store it away safely to avoid all this mess and only reinstall using the factory disks if absolutely necessary.
    I have my W7 OEM serial, found using a serial grabber. Obviously I didn’t pay all this money to scrap all the useful thinkvantage tools like “airbag” and basic fingerprint/camera drivers etc. I also like the realtime warranty countdown timer. How should I go about this task? Is all I need is the PC serial underneath to reload thinkvantage at a later date with full functionality? Is there anything I should consider before starting?
    If there is a better subforum to post this question in, please let me know.
    Many thanks,
    Nick

    What is service dependency?
    Yes I tried to make a batch file. Not in startup folder, but one on the desktop that had the right path. This returned an error from the statistical program and not the SQL server. It initially looked hopeful as I had it start up the "start server" option for the right SQL server. This opened up the dos window and said it had correctly started. However, when the stats program launched it hung up on loadscreen and returned an error message. Not sure why this was, but it didn't seem to like being loaded through a .bat.
    This seems like a work around more than a solution anyway. I just want to get it to work properly.
    Here is the thread in the database analaysis program forum for your reference.

  • Batch loading jpegs from external file

    Hello,
    I would like to preload a batch jpegs from an external file
    (to make it easy for changes) - than use them in a slide-slide show
    using a movieClip holder or loader component. I can use this
    tutorial -
    http://www.oman3d.com/tutorials/flash/portfolio_2_bc/index.php
    But I don't what to have each jpeg loaded separately I want
    them to preload b4 using..
    What would be the best way to preload the external batch to
    use for a slide show with next btn and prev btn? I can't find any
    tutorials one this.
    Thanks for any help,
    Dave

    In terms of where:
    Well, for as2, you will probably need to load them as
    dynamically created child clips of a single parent clip that you
    use to display one swf from. You would cycle through them and just
    set the _visible property of your 'current' clip to true and all
    the others to false. Your next and previous buttons could change
    which one was visible.
    But if they are large images, you'll probably use a lot of
    memory doing it this way and it would take longer to load them all
    at the start. Its more usual to, for example, load all the
    thumbnail images - smaller images, quicker to load - and then load
    the larger one into a main viewing area when its thumbnail is
    clicked.
    How
    There are plenty of examples of how to do this in tutorials
    etc.
    If you want to load all the thumbnails first, then perhaps
    you won't find exactly what you want as a tutorial. Not every
    possibility is covered in a tutorial. All I can really do is point
    your in the right direction. If it were me I would use something
    like David Stiller's MultiLoader class to make it easier perhaps
    (in fact I have my own which works a little differently but was
    seriously inspired by what I learnt from David's article at
    http://www.quip.net/blog/2007/flash/actionscript-20/tracking-multiple-files-part1
    & 2 )

  • Recorded Actions and Batch jobs

    Photoshop has an Actions panel feature that allows you to record and save a set of commands (eg: resize an image to 400 x 600, then turn it black & white).  Anytime you want to perform the same set of commands, just select and run the saved Action.  In addition, Photoshop has a Batch jobs feature that allows you to select a directory of files and run the saved action on all files in the directory.  In this way, you could resize a thousand images to 400 x 600 and turn them all black & white with one click.
    Does Captivate have any similar capability?  I have about 3,000 swf files and I wish to set the preloader percentage on all of them to the same value. I would hate to open, edit, save, and close the files manually one at a time.  If this feature does not exist, can you guys think of an efficient way to accomplish the task?
    I have Captivate 5 but can upgrade if necessary.
    Thanks for the help

    Since you mention that you have both CPT and CPTX files it might be worth mentioning that your goal of just opening them, chaning the preloader percentage before save and close again might not work out as planned.
    Have you considered the following issues?
    Are you intending to open the CPT files in the same version of Captivate that created them, or were you thinking of upgrading them to a later version such as Cp5.5?  If so, you'll need to do more than just change the preloader percentage.  You'll also need to change the path to the preloader itself since each version of Captivate is installed in a different directory in Program Files.
    Were all of the CPT projects set up as AS3 with all AS3 components, or were some of them AS2 and therefore would need to be reviewed and tested to make sure upgrading to a Cp5x version did not have other impacts?  Projects that were set up as AS2 would need to change preloaders, skins, and any animations over to AS3 before the upgrade would be successful.
    CPT to CPTX files will also experience font size issues since the font rendering technology changed in Cp5x.  So you'll probably need to go through those projects and fix a lot of issues in text captions.
    And another one to watch out for:  After upgrading projects from CPT to CPTX the Continue button on the Quiz Results will often cease to work unless you remove and replace the Quiz Results slide.
    This is not a complete list of potential upgrade issues.  What I'm trying to sound here is a warning that, unless you use exactly the same version of Captivate that created them, making any changes to these files could turn into a much bigger job than you hope.  There could be weeks of work involved trawling through each project file one by one checking for issues.

  • [HTML5/Flash CC] Preloader?

    Turns out my output panel is about a megabyte so you sit and stare at a blank screen for a few seconds to 30 seconds, depending on your browser speed. I suppose I could lower this by converting the PNG's to JPG's, but haven't wanted to mess with going through and replacing it. Plus, there will be plenty of other instances where I will need a preloader, so I figure this is a good opportunity to try and demonstrate one.
    (http://handtooledcode.com/sas_test if you want to see what I mean.)
    Again, looking for an example of how to build one, I guess. Currently, I have *nothing* that works for this, although I will start trying to go the old "second scene" route in a moment and see if I can make any progress that way.
    Thanks in advance!
    Eric.

    I could be wrong, but I do not recall any means of using CreateJS's PreloadJS functionality automatically from Flash. I believe you'll need to get your hands dirty with this.
    Here's PreloadJS with plenty of documentation on it:
    PreloadJS
    It's designed to work easily and modularly with CreateJS. Here's a presentation version of a video (I can't find the YouTube link to) where Mr. Skinner goes over how CreateJS and it's modular sibling products work together. He has a bit in there that demonstrates queue loads both synchronous and asynchronous, even batched.

    Edit:
    Just throwing it out there, Adobe Edge Animate has a preloader. If you have the suite, you might want to consider taking a look!

  • Is this possible? - Batch combining 2 images

    I have not used Photoshop before and I am in need of some guidance before buying.
    I create animations using Rhino/Bongo/VRay (if that doesn't mean anything to you its the NURBS modeller/Keyframe Animator /Renderer) The output of which is a large amount of still images, as each frame, which then get encoded to an AVI file. Before the encoding process I would like to combine two series of still images. One series is the perspective view of the animation subject and the other is a overlay of animated data readouts and  the company logo. As every frame from both series is unique I would like to combine animation-001 with overlay-001, animation-002 with overlay-002 and so on until the end. Note the overlay is a PNG with the background transparent.
    Is Photoshop the right tool for me?
    Cheers for any help with this matter,
    Danny

    Bridge is Adobe's file browser application. It's more than that, but it opens up folders of files that you can select and do different things with.
    Photoshop should have come with a program named ExtendScript Toolkit that I use to write the javascript for Photoshop. I am very inexperienced with VBScript so I probably couldn't help you with that.
    Using a simple script you could do one fileset at a time and process through them with the batch feature so it'll open up the animation file, find the appropriate overlay file, combine and save as a combination file, then close all 3. Then move on to the next set. Or you can set up the script to loop through doing the same thing.
    Photoshop lets you run scripts on the fly. Go under File>Scripts and you will see a list of preloaded script files. You can click Browse to run one that hasn't been preloaded.
    To preload a script, it has to be copied to the appropriate folder where Photoshop loads scripts from upon startup. Usually the folder where the application runs from/Presets/Scripts

  • Cost(vprs) of free goods with batch managment

    Dear Gurus,
    I have a problem ahout free goods with batch management.
    Cost(VPRS) is not accumulated in billing(free goods is not relevant for billing).
    My configurations are shown as below:
    Ordered goods (and batch) item category :zta1(copied from tan)
    Free goods (and batch) item category :zann (copied from tann) pricing:B ;not relevant for billing;dermination cost:X
    copy control(from delivery to billing):
    ztan: accumulation cost :X
    If I use the material without batch management,Cost of free goods(without batch) is accumulated to main item(ordered goods).
    So, what can I do?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Lykin Kan

    Hi,
    These notes are useful:
    SAP Note 1365939 - VPRS logic and Customizing settings in SD
    SAP Note 547570 - FAQ: VPRS in pricing
    If you have the problem in the transfer from SD conditions to CO-PA, check if you transfer only invoices to COPA, if you don't invoice the deliveries of free goods, then you don't transfer this 'sales' or costs of 'gifts' to COPA. You can check the customizing of COPA in tcode ORKE (IMG for COPA). SAP Note 74486 - INFO: Overview of consulting notes for CO-PA is a good summary about this issue.
    I hope this helps you

    Eduardo

  • If statement in calculated batch characteristic (dependencies)

    I have a little problem with calculating a certain batch characteristic.
    The situation is the following:
    I have batch char A, batch char B and batch char C. Batch char C is the result of the sommation of char A and B. The problem I have now is that batch char C only should be calculated when batch char A and B are different from 0.
    I have a custom build interface that imports QM data to the batch chars. Default, all my batch chars are set to 0 so if I just say $self.charC = $self.charA + $self.charB, I always get a value.
    Is it possible to some sort of IF statement to check if the value is different from 0?

    Dear,
    You need to try with variant table
    take all the combination and enter in a variant table and see the result...it works
    example
    A     B      C
    0      0      space
    0      1      sapce
    1      1      space
    I hope you got it

  • Problem with Preloader in my Flash AS2 Game

    I have been using this tutorial to make a preloader:
    http://www.republicofcode.com/tutori.../preloader_bc/
    I have run into one problem though.
    When I simulate the download, it just shows the background color of the game while it loads, and when it finished loading, it shows the loading screen fully loaded. I have followed the tutorial exactly, except added my file names into the AS2 code.
    Here is the ActionScript in Frame 1 I have for the preloader:
    if (_root.getBytesTotal() != _root.getBytesLoaded()){
    stopAndGoto(1);
    preloaderBar._xscale=(_root.getBytesLoaded()/_root.getBytesTotal())*100;
    loaderTxt.text=Math.round((_root.getBytesLoaded()/_root.getBytesTotal())*100)+"%";
    Any hints or answers to what i'm doing wrong?
    Thanks, MrA615.

    Your description of what you've done and the code you show does not match what the tutorial says to do and what code to use... (there is no stopAndGoTo() function in Flash).
    Right-click the second frame on the upper layer labeled Actions and select Actions. Copy and paste the code below to make our preloader functional.
    if (_root.getBytesTotal() != _root.getBytesLoaded()){
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    bar_mc._xscale=(_root.getBytesLoaded()/_root.getBytesTotal())*100;
    loader_txt.text=Math.round((_root.getBytesLoaded()/_root.getBytesTotal())*100)+"%";

  • Stock on posting date -storage location and batch wise

    Dear All
    I need to developa report exactly same as MB5B but with storage location and batch wise.
    We need  storage location wise opening stock, total receipts, total issues and closing stock, and values for given time period.
    I have gone through some history tables like MCHBH and MBEWH.
    But all the history tables are having fileds for period wise but not date wise.
    Any focus on this?

    You have to read the coding of MB5B to see how SAP is doing it.
    The stock per date is calculated, starting from a month end, adding or reducing quantities based on movements until the date in question is reached.

  • Batch wise stock report with qty and value as on date

    is there any report so that we can see the stock qty with value as on date,
    i have tried mb5b but it is showing only qty and batch combination not qty value and batch combination
    plz suggest me, it is very urgent.
    nitin

    MBEWH is the valuation history, this is only updated with the first movement after a period closure. And the period is a month.
    There is no table in SAP that holds the stock information on daily basis.
    You have to develope this yourself. Easiest method by copying a table like MBEW and MARD  daily to a Z-Table.
    A stock situation  at a certain date can be calculated with MB5B.

  • Stock on posting date with storagelocation,batch and stock types informatio

    Hi,
    I'm needing a report (similar funtion of MB5B) which must reveal the stock postion (closing balance) of the materials on a particular date alongwith storage loactions, batches and stocktypes (Unres/Q/Blkd).As such MB5B either gives the output either by storage location or by batch, not the combination of both.
    Else provide any possibilty means( Database tables) from where i could arrive these mention outputs.
    I could be able to get the information by collecting the values from MKPF & MSEG tables. But this information only suffice the material movements carried on that particular date.. And i will be not having the closing balance as a whole.
    I even wonder to get any such a kind of information in which i could able to get the stock with stock types(Unres/Q/Blkd).
    Any light on this matter is highly appreciable.
    Regards
    Prasanna

    Hi Amit Bakshi,
    Thanks for the reply..
    I executed the suggested program but i found the same kind of information aslike in MB5B..
    The information all i'm looking is to get the closing balance of the given material with storagelocations, batches and stock types on a given posting date.
    For eg.
    On 15 / 03 / 2011
    Material A
    Batch       Slocation       Stock type               Closing balance Qty.
    A1              S001               Unres.                             50
    A1              S002               Unres                            120
    B1              S001               Quality                             15
    C1              S003               Blocked                            30
    In MB5B i could able to get the values of closing balance either Storage location level or by batch level but is it possible to get the combination of both along with stock types?
