Is this possible? - Batch combining 2 images

I have not used Photoshop before and I am in need of some guidance before buying.
I create animations using Rhino/Bongo/VRay (if that doesn't mean anything to you its the NURBS modeller/Keyframe Animator /Renderer) The output of which is a large amount of still images, as each frame, which then get encoded to an AVI file. Before the encoding process I would like to combine two series of still images. One series is the perspective view of the animation subject and the other is a overlay of animated data readouts and the company logo. As every frame from both series is unique I would like to combine animation-001 with overlay-001, animation-002 with overlay-002 and so on until the end. Note the overlay is a PNG with the background transparent.
Is Photoshop the right tool for me?

Bridge is Adobe's file browser application. It's more than that, but it opens up folders of files that you can select and do different things with.
Photoshop should have come with a program named ExtendScript Toolkit that I use to write the javascript for Photoshop. I am very inexperienced with VBScript so I probably couldn't help you with that.
Using a simple script you could do one fileset at a time and process through them with the batch feature so it'll open up the animation file, find the appropriate overlay file, combine and save as a combination file, then close all 3. Then move on to the next set. Or you can set up the script to loop through doing the same thing.
Photoshop lets you run scripts on the fly. Go under File>Scripts and you will see a list of preloaded script files. You can click Browse to run one that hasn't been preloaded.
To preload a script, it has to be copied to the appropriate folder where Photoshop loads scripts from upon startup. Usually the folder where the application runs from/Presets/Scripts

Batch combine multiple image sequences

My problem in a way is pretty simple.
After assembling the render output of my 3d app in photoshop (32bit) and changing the appearance via several CC layers in different layer modes (e.g. Hue/saturation in Overlay mode) I ended up with my composing for print purposes. The comp is complex, with several masked folders, single masked CC layers and many image layers (some with masks).
Now the client wanted me to animate part of the image. No problem I thought. But the trap is of how to assemble the different image sequences (diffuse, specular, reflection, masks, etc, etc). I came up with a PS action which loaded the single images and arranged them in the same fashion as the master file.
But now PS doesn't load the incremental images for the batch processing.
Images are named in a Diffuse_00001, Specular_00001, ... fashion. Loading the first set works, but from Diffuse_00002 everything goes wrong and PS load the 00001 files (except from one file which loads in the proper incremental way).
I can't transfer this stuff to AE as it is much too complex and I do no AE only very little.
I guess PS should be capable to solve this batch task, but a simple action via batch seems to fail.
Anybody who knows a solution?

I forgot to mention that after applying the action the comp is reduced to the background layer and needs to be saved as Flattened_00000, Flattened_00001, etc.

Batch import of images

Hi,
Is it possible to batch import images into iBA?
I would like to have 1 image per page (different images) and do this for, say, 200 pages.
Is this possible?
Placing an image on the template page and placeholder and generating many pages, then manually drag each image to each page works, but an automated sequence would be nice. Anyone knows if it can be done?

I save images to my Desktop sometimes. I want to use Hazel and Automator to automatically move the file to another location by asking in a pop-up or something where I want this just-saved image to go---for example, to "Vacation Photos," to "Pet Photos," to "Family photos," etc. Then, move it there. After it does so, I want it to either 1.) continue the numbering sequence of photos (so if I move a photo to "Pet Photos," I want it to continue the existing sequence in "Pet Photos"--e.g., naming it petphotos-005.jpg) or if this isn't possible 2.) after the move, have Automator select ALL the contents in the chosen folder and rename everything in sequence, including the photo I just added to that folder.

Not all applications provide Automator actions, so they won't necessarily show up in the actions library. For an Automator solution, you can use a couple of *Launch Application* actions in your workflow to launch the desired applications.

If you go to Settings > iTunes & AppStore , you can sign out from your account, and sign in with the one you've used to purchase apps.This will not remove any apps you already have on it.
Then you can go to AppStore and download apps you've purchased (either via "Purchased" button in "Updates", or simply search for them and download them.
That way you can have multiple accounts' apps on your iPad. When updating, you will be prompted for the credentials for account you've purchased given App with.

Put the Old drive in an external notebook drive enclosure. Install the SSD in your computer. Boot from your Old drive's Recovery HD:
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Clone Lion/Mountain Lion using Restore Option of Disk Utility
     1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu then press the Continue
         button.
     2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
     3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
     4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it
         to the Destination entry field.
     5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
         the Source entry field.
     6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the New SSD. Source means the external Old hard drive.
Set the new Startup Disk to the SSD and restart the computer.
This process clones both your old OS X volume and the Recovery HD volume to the SSD. You can use a similar process to clone the SSD to the new hard drive you will install.

MW Design - Yeah I think "Relative paths" is the right term! I want to create a Layout with an image in the center of the page - and then duplicate my folder structure with that file. With that, I want to replace the Linked image file with a diferent image file of the same name. In effect having multiple files of the same layout with different images. I hope that made sense.

I would suggest you visit an Apple dealer, preferably an Apple Store if there's one in your city, and ask for assistance in determining what you need. The questions and issues you bring up are rather complex to address in a technical support forum and would be better addressed in person where you and the salesperson can ask questions back and forth to arrive at the optimal setup.

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
You can opnly resize using the available options and file size is not one of them

Can't be done as an exact copy from one Mac to the other. The operating systems are system specific. First make sure your system doesn't need a firmware update to get 10.2 or later on it. You'll need to install 9 on it if it does, direct from a 9 retail CD that is compatible with it *. This disc can't say Upgrade, Dropin, or OEM. To determine compatibility, identify your G4 tower:

The last Mac OS 9 to come retail is 9.2.1, and that's newer than 9.0.4, 9.0.2, and 9.1.
Your ghost image can be done using cloning software, but then you'll have to use a retail 10.3 installer and 10.3.9 combo update on the G4 tower. Then use the Migration Assistant to import the data from the clone of the iBook. The 10.3 retail disc looks like * and does not say upgrade, dropin, or OEM. The 10.3.9 combo update is here:

fields. So far everything is ok. Now for the fun part.
Using an EJB I would like to retrieve the image, and embed it in a JSP page,
contents and all. Rather then the image physically being downloaded as a
separate resource, I'd like to embed the contents right in the document. Is
this possible via the object html tag, or some other tag - has anyone done
anything like this? Although the image would be embedded, I would like it
to display as normal in the browser. Please help! In the end, I'd be
looking for a file like:

<object params>1294574599445BE3049AAACCEDDAAFFF023...etc</OBJECT>
<h2>above is an image being displayed by the browser</h2>

It seems like a pretty nutty thing to do, but we have a few requirements,

You may use ServletResponse to setContentType to
image/jpeg
image/gif
image/ief
image/tiff
And then write corresponding binary image data to the stream.
Corresponding tag in the html page could look like
<img src="http://my/image.jsp"/>

One does not "see" the images when selecting; You just select two file names, click OK, PhotoShop does the rest, and comes back with same message.

If the MBP came with Lion, it most likely won't boot with SL. Easiest thing to do is create a bootable backup/clone of each to an ext HD, partitioned to hold each on a separate volume, ensure that the original machines can boot with their respective clones, and finally, try booting the other machine with the other clone. Images are useless since you can't boot with them to test them out.
