  • Call/Invoke an OWB Process Flow from a Windows Command/batch

    Hi everyone,
I'm newbie in Oracle Warehouse Builder and I've developed some process flows to load data from one database to another.
One of these process, called "MAIN", is the beginning of the execution. I need to call these process flow (MAIN) from the Windows Command Line
or batch (.bat file) to schedule in Windows Sckeduler Tasks.
Anyone have an idea to how to do this?
    Thanks a lot!

Check this blog post here that shows how to execute via sqlplus, which you will then be able to wrapper in a batch script or whatever to schedule.

  • Batch Processing Optical Flow shots

Any one know if it's possible to batch process a lot of shots with optical flow somehow? I have over 20 clips that require various speed ramps and would rather batch them up versus having to come back every time. Any help of ideas would be great. Thanks!

    Specifically, 8 bytes per pixel.
So - a 720x480 frame takes 720x480x8 or about 2.8 megabytes per frame. Times 30 frames per second, times 10 seconds and you're getting close to a gigabyte. Multiply that by 20 clips and you can see how you might start filling up your drive pretty fast. AND remember, the ENTIRE clip is analyzed, even if you only use 10 seconds.
So - make sure your clips are limited to the material you are ACTUALLY going to use.
    make sense?

  • CS5  Batch Processing Photo Editing work flow

I am relatively new to CS5 and I am intested in automating the correct  gross  photo editing work flow process [ie., levels contrast, color , noise, sharpening etc] once I have made RAW corrections for each photo.I hope this is as simple as refering me to a tutorial
    Tank

Not sure exactly your are looking for, a template or an action to apply to other images. In Bridge/tools/photoshop there are a number of options.  The image processor is quite powerful.  There is also the option to make a metadata template to apply settings to other images.
Do a google search for batch process edits Bridge and see what suits your fancy.

  • OWB Process Flow!!

    HI
We have a situation like we have to run the mapping paralelly, Also we want to process mapping in the batch by batch. What I mean here is that, depending on the data volume we allocate the data into different batches and we run certain number of batches paralelly.
My first question is that we have Fork option in Process flow, can we dynamically control that, which means I should be able to Fork as many processes as I want.
My Second question is that Can I Iterate the process in Process flow.
Any help on the above questions would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Balaji

    Balaji,
You can fork as many parallel processes as you want, although, in reality you will be constrained by your computing resources.
As for your second question - currently there is no way to cycle (iterate) in OWB's process flow.

    Igor

  • OWB | Passing input to mapping in the process flow

    Hi,
I have a process flow which calls a stored procedure which returns 2 values.
I want to use the values returned from this procedure as an input in my mapping. My mapping has Mapping_Input_Parameters definined for these two inputs.
These values are going to be load_date and the batch it belongs.
I have created new params in the process flow edit under the mapping. The process flow executes successfully if I give the input params as a constant. When I do a binding with the out variable of the stored procedure I get a deployment error as "Internal error: OUT_D_LOAD_DATE cannot be converted to a constant value. Please correct the value. If the problem persists then please contact Oracle Support with the stack trace and details on how to reproduce it."
Please let me know how to resolve this and if there is way to get the load_date in the mapping without actually having to call the procedure in the mapping. The load_date will change everyday and I need to read it from a table.
    Thanks!

    Hi
If you have resolved the error please guide me also Since I am also facing the same error. (RPE-02040: Internal error: MYRAND cannot be converted to a constant value. Please correct the value. )
I am using 10gR2, Here my test process flow is
    Start - > MyRand -> FindOddEven->end
Here MyRand function will return a value, the function findOddEven will just do a mod of 2 and return 1 for odd numbers and 0 for even numbers. When I bind the OUT parameter of the MyRand to the IN parameter of the FindOddEven it is throwing the same error.
    Thanks in advance

  • Process flow fails in OEM

I am trying to schedule an external process in OEM. The task has been successfully deployed from Deployment Manager. The process flow location is owf_locn and the process flow name is stg_tgt. Hi Igor
We're getting close, but not quite there yet. You may have missed my last posting due to the similar time of posting.
My batch files will require reference to an application on a remote machine. Thus while I can copy the batch file to the server, the application referenced in the batch file must refer to files on another remote server specified as \\server2\d$\external.ear. As you can see this requires an administrative account on the remote server to access the 'd$' directory. In my last posting I had reached the stage where the batch job was denied access to the remote server, but otherwise (eroneously) reported success. What account do these jobs run against so that I can set up access permissions on the remote server?
I tried your suggestions. #1 fails for the above access problem. #2 runs for hours until I cancel - this is the case anytime that I have tried using c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe. #3 Not sure what you mean by set up and register a file location?

  • Using .sql files in OWB Process flow

    Hi,
Is it possible to use the .sql files in Process flow and schedule them?
If so,can you please let me know the procedure.
Thanks for your help and hoping to hear from you soon.
    Thanks
    Vinay

Process flow is not a scheduler, to schedule, you will have to run the process flow from a scheduler system, such as the one in Oracle Enterprise manager.
You can run an sql file from a batch file (or a shell file, if you are on unix), and then call the batch file from an external activity in the process flow.

Plant determination in Sales and distribution:
To determine the plant in an order the system checks the master in the following order:
    a)     Customer material info. record of the sold-to –party
    b)     Customer master record of the ship-to-party
    c)     Material master record of the material
    Shipping point determination
The following rule is used in determining shipping point in a sales order   :
Plant + Shipping condition (Sold-to-Party) + Loading group                  Shipping point
Maintained in Material master Gen: Plant data
    Route determination
Route determined using the following rule in Sales and Distribution (SAP)
    Departure Zone of Shipping Point
    +
    Shipping condition (Sold-to-Party)
    +
    Transportation Group (Material master)
    +
    Transportation Zone (Ship-to-Party)
    Route
    Delivery scheduling:
As name denotes delivery scheduling is scheduling delivery for an order and it carries the following important dates:
    •     Material availability date
    •     Transportation planning date
    •     Loading date
    •     Goods Issue date
    •     Delivery date
    Availability Check in SAP:
    •     Availability check is carried out at item level for a plant
    •     Availability check is done on the material availability date
    •     If material availability date is in the past the forward scheduling is done, if not backward  scheduling is done.
Item category determination in the order:
Item category denotes the category to which the item belongs and the following rule is used for determination of item category. Item category controls the way in which item behaves in a sales document.
    Sales document type
    +
    Item category group (Material master)
    +
    Item usage
    +
Item category of higher level item
    Item category of the item
Item category in a sales document mainly controls the following
    •     Relevance for billing of an item
    •     Billing block
    •     Pricing relevance
    •     Business data relevance item
    •     Schedule line allowed
    •     Item relevant for delivery
    •     Returns
    •     Determine cost
    •     Credit active
    •     Incompletion procedure
    •     Partner determination procedure
    •     Structure scope (relevant for bill of material explosion)
    •     Value contract material
    •     Contract release control
    Schedule line category:
Every item which has a delivery will have a schedule line and the schedule line category is determined with the following rule:
Item category + MRP type(Material Master)         Schedule line category
    Schedule line category mainly controls:
    •     Delivery Block
    •     Movement type
    •     Item relevant for delivery

    Pricing Procedure determination:
Pricing is an important component in SAP-SD. Once an order is entered taking into consideration some major factors, the pricing procedure for the particular order is determined.
The major factors taken into consideration for pricing procedure determination is:
    Sales area
    +
Customer Pricing procedure(Customer Master –Sales area data)
    +
    Document Pricing Procedure(Sales Document Type)
    Pricing Procedure
What are the components of pricing procedure?
How is  that a person should work on Pricing Procedure?
    To start with first
    Define a Condition table:
    What is a condition table?
A table where the key fields are data combinations for which messages are triggered (and offered for processing).
For each data combination, there is a condition record in the table. The data part contains the actual message.
As mentioned above a condition table is a table which carries key fields for picking up the prices.
    Define Access Sequences
The access sequence is a search strategy which the SAP System uses to search for condition records valid for a condition type.
For example, you can define for a price that the SAP System first searches for a customer-specific price and then for a price list price.
    Recommendation
    •     If you define your own access sequences, the key should start with the letter Z since SAP reserves this letter for the standard system.
    •     Do not change access sequences contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
    Actions
    1. Check to what extent you can use the access sequences contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
    2. Create new access sequences by copying a similar access sequence and changing it according to your needs. Specify an alphanumeric key which may have up to 4 digits and a textual description.
    3. Maintain the accesses for the access sequence by specifying the condition tables in the desired sequence. With the sequence, you define the priority of the accesses. You can display combinations of key fields using possible entries.
    4. Generating the accesses is no longer necessary as of 3.0, as this is carried out automatically. You can generate the accesses manually, if required, by choosing "Utilities".
    Example
In pricing, you use a customer-material discount. The condition records you create are based on customer data from the document header and material data from each document item. The discount is only valid for 2% of your customers, however. Normally, this would mean that the system would needlessly search through every available item for 98% of your customers. In this case, pre step would improve system performance.
    Define Condition Type
A characteristic of a condition. For example, in pricing, different condition types are used to distinguish between a discount that refers to a net price and a discount that refers to a gross price.
Price elements are represented in the SAP system by condition types. Price elements can be, for example, prices, surcharges, discounts, taxes or, freight, and are stored in the system in condition records.
You can, for example, define whether a discount is calculated as a percentage or a fixed amount using the condition type.
You specify an access sequence in every condition type. Thus, you define which fields the SAP system checks when searching for a valid condition record.
    Note
    •     The pricing procedure groups all condition types together which the SAP system is to automatically take into account during pricing for a business transaction (see the section "Define and assign pricing procedures").
Remember that you can only specify manually in a document those condition types which are contained in the pricing procedure.
    •     You can change the outcome of pricing in the sales document manually. You can limit options for changing a condition type in this IMG step.
    Recommendation
    •     If you define your own condition types, the key should start with the letter Z since SAP reserves these letters for that purpose in the standard system.
    •     Do not change the condition types which are contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
    Actions
    1. Check to what extent you can use the condition types contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
    2. Create new condition types by copying a similar conditions type and changing it according to your requirements. One reason for creating a new condition type is you may require a calculation rule for a discount which is not available in the standard system.
Specify an alphanumeric key which can have up to 4 digits, and a textual description.
Specify an access sequence for the condition types. You do not need to specify an access sequence for header conditions.
    3. Maintain the detail screen of the condition type.
You can also assign a reference condition type if the condition types you are working with are similar. Then you will only have to maintain condition records for the reference condition type.
In addition, you can define the upper and lower limits for the value of a condition at condition type level. This way, you limit the amounts or the scale values in the corresponding condition records.
    Define Pricing Procedures
The pricing procedure defines the conditions permitted for a document and the sequence in which the system takes these conditions into account during pricing.
A standard pricing procedure is defined in the standard SAP system.  It contains conditions most commonly used.  These include material prices, discounts, and surcharges, such as freight, or tax.
    SAP Recommendation
    •     Define your own pricing procedures which contain only those condition types which you use. Otherwise, the system makes un neccessary accesses to conditions.
    •     Do not change the pricing procedures contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
    Actions
    1. Create new pricing procedures by copying a similar pricing procedure.
o     Specify a key with up to 6 characters and a description.
o     For a procedure, specify the condition types in the sequence of their usage.
Maintain the lines of the pricing procedure
    2. Afterwards define the customer determination procedures for determining the procedure.
    3. Define the document pricing procedures for determining the procedure.
    4. Assign the procedure to the sales document types and billing types.
    5. To determine the procedure, define the allowed combinations of:
    o     Sales area
    o     Customer pricing  procedure
    o     Document pricing procedure
    o     Pricing procedure
    Shipping:
The basis for shipping is delivery.
Delivery document controls the following in deliveries
    •     Number range
    •     Item no increment
    •     Storage location rule
    •     Route determination
    •     Text determination
    •     Delivery split
    •     Gen. packing material / item
    •     Order required
    Delivery item category controls:
    •     Check min delivery
    •     Availability check
    •     Relevant for picking
    •     Storage location required
    •     Determine storage location
    •     Automatic batch determination
    •     Text determination procedure
    Billing:
Billing is the last phase in the SD process .Billing is the phase where the major integration of SD and FI Module happens.
Billing document has got the following structure:
    •     Header
    •     Item
    Billing documents mainly control:
    •     No. range
    •     Posting block (Controls posting to accounting)
    •     Relevant for rebate
    •     Account determination procedure
    •     Account determination recon account
    •     Account determination pay.cards
    •     Output determination procedure
    Account Determination in SAP
Account determination in SAP-SD happens with the following rule
    Sales Organization
    Chart of Accounts
    Account assignment group –Customer
    Account assignment group-Material
    Account Key
G/L account on which the postings  has to happen.

Integration between SD and MM :-
    1. When you create sales order in SD, all the details of the items are copied from Material master of MM.
    2. MRP and availability check related data is also taken from MM although you control this data in SD also.
    3. While you create inbound/outbound delivery with reference to a sales order, the shipping point determination takes place with the help of the loading group, plant data, shipping conditions etc. This also refers to Material Master.
    4. The material which you are entering in a sales order must be extended to the sales area of your sales order/customer otherwise you cannot transact with this material.
Integration between SD and FI :-
    1. Whenever you create a delivery with reference to a sales order, goods movement takes place in the background. eg. In case of standard sales order, you create an outbound goods delivery to the customer. Here movement 601 takes place. This movement is configured in MM. Also, this movement hits some G/L account in FI. Every such movement of good s hits some G/L account.
    2. The accounts posting in FI is done with reference to the billing documents (invoice, debit note, credit note etc) created in SD. Thus this is a link between SD and FI
    3. Tax determination: In case of a tax determination also, there is a direct link between SD and MM

  • Wht is Process Flow for 3rd Party Sales

wht is Process Flow for 3rd Party Sales

Customize the third party sales in summary:
    1. Create Vendor XK01
    2. Create Material u2013 Material Type as "Trading Goods". Item category group as "BANS".
    3. Assign Item Category TAS to Order type that you are going to use.
    4. A sale order is created and when saved a PR is generated at the background
    5. With reference to SO a PO is created (ME21N). The company raises PO to the vendor.
    6. Vendor delivers the goods and raises bill to company. MM receives the invoice MIRO
    7. Goods receipt MIGO
    8. Goods issue
    9. The item cat TAS or Schedule line cat CS is not relevant for delivery which is evident from the config and,   therefore, there is no delivery process attached in the whole process of Third party sales.

  • External commands in OWB Process Flow

    Hello *,
how can I embed an external command (e.g. a batch file) in an OWB process flow.
I know the User Defined Activity but I didn't succeed in embedding this.
Has someone an example for me?
    Thanks and regards
    Michael

    hi thomas...
    thanks for your reply...
I changed the parameters of runtime.properties to NATIVE_JAVA as u said...but it still not running....
    I will give u a celar pic..what I am doing now..
I wrote a bat file called cmd.bat with the following commands..
    d:
    cd temp
    copy var.dat d.txt
    del var.dat
I kept the path of this file(d:\temp\cmd.bat)..in the script parameter of userdefined activity...
and the path of the cmd.exe (c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe) file in command parameter
I created a basic process flow(ch)..with start, userdefined and stop activities...
I just want to copy the data from var.dat to d.dat and delete the var.dat..
the deployment and running of this process(ch) from the control center manager is success...but the actual copying and deletion that was mentioned in my cmd.bat..is not happening...
    I am using owb 10gr2....
    anymore suggestions plzz..
    thanks

  • Problem in external process using process flow

    Hi All,
I want to execute a batch file ( which is appending 2 text files ) using OWB process flow.
For this i am using external process in OWB process flow and giving the parameters for external process as below:
    COMMAND --- VALUE as c:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe
    PARAMETERS_LIST --- VALUE as ?c:\\fileappend.bat
when i execute the process flow....it is showing
    Completion Status Completed successfully
    Starting Execution BATCH_PROC
    Starting Task BATCH_PROC
    Starting Task BATCH_PROC:EXTERNALPROCESS
    Microsoft Windows 2000 [Version 5.00.2195]

WARNING: Log file truncated - see RAB for further information.
    Completing Task BATCH_PROC:EXTERNALPROCESS
    Completing Task BATCH_PROC
    Completing Execution BATCH_PROC
But i couldn't see the result, means the files appended.
It is working when i execute the batch file through MS-DOS.
Please let me know is there any other necessary steps i need to take.
    Thanks in advance
    Malli

    Hi Malli,
Because you are using an external process you do not need to specify the cmd command to perform the execution. You can just put the call to the batch file you have in the command string and that is it. Beware that the working directory is <owb home>\owb\bin\win32.
    Mark.

  • Problems scheduling process flow

Using OWB I have create a number of mappings and also a process flow using the defined mappings. All the mappings and the process flow are successfully deployed and can be executed without problems from Deployment Manager. I can even successfully execute my process from OS command line using the sqlplus_exec_template.sql file :
    sqlplus vlad_proiect/vlad@proiect @F:\Oracle\OraWB92\owb\rtp\sql\sqlplus_exec_template.sql vlad_runtime ORACLE_WORK_FLOW PROCESS INCARC "," ","
    where :
vlad_proiect/vlad my user name and passwd
    proiect my database SID
vlad_runtime is the Runtime Repository owner
ORACLE_WORK_FLOW is the location of the process flow
    INCARC is the process name.
I tried to do the same thing using OEM. I followed the example
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/warehouse/htdocs/oem_scheduling_viewlet_swf.html
and the indication from WB User guide chapter Scheduling Mappings and Process Flows (13-19) but the scheduled job fails with the following reason :
VNI-2015 : The Node preferred credentials for the target node are either invalid or do not have sufficient privileges to complete the operation.
On Windows platforms, the Node credentials specified for the Windows target should have the "Logon as a batch job" privilege.
I have created the job as follows:
    Tab General
     Job name: TEST
    Selected target: Proiect
    Tab Tasks
    Tasks: Run SQL*Plus script
    Tab Parameters
    Parameters: vlad_runtime ORACLE_WORK_FLOW PROCESS INCARC "," ","
    Override preferred credentials: checked
User name: vlad_runtime_acc the Runtime Repository access user
Password: vlad the Runtime Repository acc user passwd
I have imported the script oem_exec_template.sql
And in the Preferred credentials (from Configuration->Preferences->Administrator preferences) I set :
Database : Proiect with user vlad_proiect and my passwd.
Node : localhost with user vlad_runtime and his passwd.
Somewhere something is wrong set (or not set at all?) or …?

    Razvan,
When OEM executes a scheduled job, it will logon to the node (i.e. your machine) as the user that is specified in the preferred credentials of OEM. That user (provided there is one... which is not necessarily default) is an operating system user and must have the 'logon as batch job' privilege. You can set this option (on Windows 2000) by going into control panel, administrative tools, local security policy, local policies, user rights assignment. Look for 'logon as batch job' and make sure the user being used to logon to the node has the privilege.
This setup is actually provided in the installation guide as well.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark.
