Battery bold 9900

I've JUST bought the new blackberry bold 9900, and in the 2nd day of use the battery was complety "red" 2 times BEFORE 6pm!!!!!!!! What should i do!!?!

I have had my Bold 9900 for two weeks now and came across this post.
Basically, you have to go to your network connections, then mobile network, and switch from3g/H+ & 2G to just 3G/H+ or 2G. Your battery will last you 10x more.
The battery drains because it's faster internet connection, and if you have other apps running like Facebook or Twitter, or games, or even your little security vault, you need to close them down, and keep the apps you are using, running. Some apps like your texts, phone call, and BBM will always be running, but just hold your menu key down and close the other apps down. That will also save you. You only use the 3G/H+ & 2G if you need to google something, or get quick access to your browser.

my bold 9900 phone doesn't come up if my battery runs down, even when pulged to power supply.  i will have to charge the battery with an external device before it can come up and then charges. If i remove the battery, my pc doesn't reconize my bold 9900 but if i insert a charged battery, it does reconize. Pls what do i do to solve this problem.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • BBM version 6.1.0.49 - my bbm contacts cant see my Dp when i change it (Bold 9900 )

    Hello,
I just bought my blackberry a few days go and I can’t see the display image of BBM contacts and they also cant see mine.
The only time I could see their display image is when they change it.
I tried changing my and they still can’t see it.
     I have tried the following
    1.       Updated OS to version 7.0.0 bundle 2406
    2.       Updated BBM to v6.1.0.49
    3.       Registered by BBM via the HRT
    Go to Options
    Select the Advance Options
    Select Host Routing Table
    Choose the “BOLD” point
    Press your BB menu
    Select Register Now
Then it would be showing some message, “Your Handheld registered with the wireless network..”
    Restart your BlackBerry devices.
     4.       Rebooted & Restarted after each update
    5.       Removed the battery and restarted
    6.  Used Desktop manager to delete and reinstall BBM
    7. Downgraded BBM version from 6.1.0.49 to 6.0.032 to 6.0.0.25
    8. Downgraded OS system from Version 7 latest to the version 7 before it
    9. Deleted and reinstalled app world
    10. in fact i have done everything i can possibly think of and still have the same problem and result
At first I thought this would be ok after adding several BBM contacts, but I have added up to 10 contacts today and still cant see their display image and they too cant see mine.
I would really appreciate assistance on this.
     Kind regards

  • Personal email AND Enterprise email on Bold 9900?

I have my own personal blackberry Bold 9900 that I am using for work as well. I wiped it and did the Enterpise activation..great...work emails now coming in.
But now I can't add my personal emails...
So the question is, if I wipe it again, and add my personal emails (gmail, outlook.com) BEFORE I do the enterprise activation...will I still be ableto send receive from my personal accounts as well as have my work email?
    Thanks,
    M

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The first thing to do is ask your BES admins if they restrict, via IT Policy, the use of personal email on BES-activated BBs. If they do, then you have your choice to make...work only, or personal only. If you choose personal only, then you will need to conduct a specific WIPE:
KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software
If they don't restrict personal email, then I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If you never de-integrated your personal email accounts from the BB, then they actually should return to it now without you having to do anything further.
I actually recommend getting BES going first, and then adding personal email accounts after it's working well.
    Good luck!

Hi @bkirby02! Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
Since you purchase it new I don't think there is an IT policy that's stopping you to setup your email.
IT's more likelty that ATT has not correctly provisioned your BlackBerry for BlackBerry data services.
Contact them again and make sure they resend your service books and reprovision your data.

  • BB Bold 9900 APP ERROR 200.....HELP!!!

I have a BB Bold 9900 and has the white screen with App Error 200 Reset screen, I have tried taking the battery out and plugging it into computer to reset it but comes up with the update screen and then says repair and then says No BB device updates available...what do I do now as just have an exspensive brick????? thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Here is a KB that discusses that error:
KB30100 "JVM 200" appears on the BlackBerry smartphone
Hopefully it contains something useful! There also are multiple existing threads on this site that discuss that exact error...your review of those might prove useful, and a search of this site, using the error message, error code, or symptom, should reveal all applicable existing threads to you.
You also might want to do an OS reload. The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
You may also need the use of these tricks:

    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Bold 9900 not powering up no RED light

    Hi,
A day back my Bold 9900 was hung while checking email, it remained for around 15 mts and I had to pull out the battery, since then it never powered up. Tried every tip and tricks of the forum but to no rescue.
The LED red light does not come up with / without battery and with /without charger connected and neither does it boot. I guess that motherboard power must be available as trackpadpad is showing gleamy sensor light inside.
Please help me with a technical solution.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek

Tried charging quickly/endlesslywithout battery, inserting battery while charging, tried apploader, tried connecting through desktop / web software update, tried getting detection of hardware through desktop to no success etc, and almost navigated all the solutions/workarounds/tricks posted in support forums. But all in vein. What could have possibly gone wrong ? Is it hardware failure ? Have not tried battery replacement as there was no issue with battery while it was working.

  • Won't Update my Bold 9900 to OS7.1

    Device info
    Virgin Mobile (Canada)
    Blackberry Bold 9900 and OS 7 Bundle 2406 (v7.0.0.585, Platform 5.0.0.734)
Space isn't an issue, I've got well over 5gb left on the device itself. Battery pull wont fix this problem.
I have tried five times to update my Bold from OS 7 Bundle 2406 to OS 7.1 and each time this error has come up after downloading the OS and shooting through a majority of the files, it gets stuck at 128 files remaining (to download).

I'm having the same issues. I've tried everything I can think of, updating iTunes, tried the Restore function a few times ... I can't update the software version to anything higher than v1.1.
This is my second Nike+ Kit. My first one was doing the same thing, it doesn't provide the correct pace or distance, skips in and out. I originally thought it was the sensor/receiver of the Nike+, but perhaps it's the Nano software version that's the problem. I'm about ready to give up!

First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free?
Now, leaving the device powered ON, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot.
What is the File Free now?

  • Bold 9900 - Touch Screen Not Working or Responding

my blackberry bold is 2 weeks old and the touch screen stopped working also. I did what some one here suggested and removed the battey while phone off and restarted. worked for now but will update also.thanks for the help !!!!!

I have had the same problem.I have only had my new Bold 9900 for a month and have just sent it back to the warranty repair shop for them to look at it.My touch screen first stopped working in the mornings after the alarm went off in the first week, so I assumed it was just a glitch with the alarm and installed a 3rd party alarm. However, a week later it just started happening randomly at least two or three times a day - a battery and SIM card pull would fix it at first but after a while even this wouldn't get it working again - it increasingly became more and more unreliable. At the time of sending it to the repairer the touch screen would work for roughly half the day and for the other half the day I would have to use the track ball.Considering I bought the phone outright with 850MHz enabled at about 800AUD I am not happy.Blackberry appear to provide ZERO support for their customers as well - wishing I had spent this money on an iPhone or HTC... BB really need to test their products properly before unleashing them on the unsuspecting masses..

  • Bold 9900 freezing during reboot

    Hello,
I have recently being experiencing problems with a very short battery life on my blackberry bold 9900 which was causing my blackberry to constantly turn itself off and reboot itself, this was not a problem as the blackberry would always reboot normally and work again. I ordered a replacement battery which I hoped would fix this problem however before the battery was delivered I experienced a new problem, the blackberry now does not reboot. When i turn the phone on it goes to the standard black Blackberry boot screen with the progress loading bar at the bottom, the loading bar reaches to about 3 quarters of the way and then freezes on this screen at 3 quarters progress, the phone will not turn off and does not try to reboot itself. This happens with both the old and new battery.
I have read the other forum messages and tried using the methods used for other similar problems such as connecting to a laptop and trying a software reload, trying a clean reload etc, but none of these solutions has worked. The blackberry still freezes at the same point during the reboot process making it impossible to complete the reload processes via connection to my desktop software.
Do you have any suggestions on how this can be fixed or is this beyond repair?
    Many thanks

  • My Bold 9900 wont turn on?

So my phone was drained last night, 2 hours before i got home form a NYEs party, i was exhausted, didnt even plug it in. 14 hours after being drained, i charged, the RED LED came on for 5 seconds, then went back off, then nothing happened, i unplugged it, then plugged the charger again, the red led comes for 5 seconds then nothing happens after that.. i unplugged it from the charger. took out the battery for 5 minutes. put it back on, red led, 5 seconds, nothing happened. plug it in to charge again, red led 5 seconds, nothing happens.
any help would be appreciated! its a Bold 9900

    Hi,
LEAVE the device connected to the wall outlet charger (not the USB > PC charger).
Leave it connected for 24 hours... every 3-5 hours, press and hold the power button only for about 20 seconds. Eventually it will boot on up, but first must reach a certain charge level.
You will see the blinking red and perhaps yellowish LED light, and perhaps a symbol on screen of "no battery". That means the battery is drained, but it must reach a certain charge before powering on.

  • Trying to Install Blackberry Protect on Bold 9900

    Hello,
    I have a bold 9900 with 7.1.0 software installed.
I downloaded and installed blackberry protect from app world, however, i am unable to activate the software.
I cannot find the icon anywhere on my device. Does this mean i must have blackberry 10 software installed on my phone to be able to use this app?
Is there a way to install blackberry protect on my device? If so, step by step instructions will be grealty appreciated.
I found a third party software online named gadget trak but it cost $20 per year. I rather use software designed by blackberry for copatability and security reasons.
    Your advice is grealty appreciated.
    Happy New Year

No, BlackBerry10 does not install to and cannot be installed to a 9900.
And, BB10 is not required for Protect to run.
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
You will be looking for an icon of a goldish-yellow shield, or sometimes it is a black shield.
If you still don't see it:
    1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
    2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?

This process will erase all data in your phone memory. Via JSanders.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
BlackBerry Device Operating System downloads: http://www.blackberryforums.com/blackberry-device-specific/
Just select the appropriate device model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.
IF the above does not work or help, You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:
    Download JL_Cmder http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/18789-jl_cmder.html
    or download BBSAK http://bbsak.org/download.php
If JL_Cmder does not work, you can try this:
