BC4J - The biggest bug ever

Hi,
I have a field in in view that has the precision (8,4) in the database. And as a result of some computation the
value in the field is 1.45678 This value throws an error
(invalid precision) when is set
row.setAttribute ("CoefGlobal", new oracle.jbo.domain.Number (1.45678))
And stops my interface. What I was expecting from the field is to be rounded to 4 digits precision and not to throw an error . You don't expect from me to make sure that all numeric the fields in a view are respecting the database precision. Not all the field are inputed throw the interface.

For this instance, I would expect to have to validate the data before submitting it. The reason for this is that there are many situations where I would rather have a user shown an error message then automatically round their data. Take a financial application. The field is Number(8,2) which is like currency (dollars and cents). The user puts in 4.525 representing 4 dollars and 52 and a half cents. I would rather tell the user that the system does not support the half cent then automatically chop it off and produce inaccurate results.
To this end, you can set up validators to check for things like this at the BC4J level. In this case you could create a method validator which checks the scale and automatically rounds to the correct scale (your desired result).

Bug: I have the biggest iPod ever

So apparently I can store almost 1,500,000GB of audio on my iPod, and I still have another 62GB free! Those 160GB-toting iPod owners have nothing on me.
Seriously though, this is a bug. iTunes has been displaying my usage like this for a long time, through many iTunes versions and several iPod restores. It's more annoying than anything else but it would be great if it was accurate. I don't actually know if I can rely on the "free space" figure.

Doesn't make a difference.
I have discovered the only way to get iTunes to reflect the proper usage information is to force it to access every single file. ie, I select all music and change the genre to something else. After it's finished the numbers are correct. But, the next time I use iTunes again, the numbers are back to the millions.

The biggest problem ever

I've a blackberry curve 9300 v 5.0.0.977 for almost one year. However, three days ago the battery was full, after I removed the charger, an immediate system message was shown which said battery is down and the device was shut. Furthermore, my bb now doesn't work unless it's connected to the charger.
I'm wondering if it's a system or battery problem. I wish you'll be able to solve it

Are you able to test with another battery? If so, I would advise doing this first to rule out any issue with the battery itself.
If a different battery does not resolve the issue, you may want to try reloading your BlackBerry® Device Software to rule out any software issue that may be causing this.

I have been dealing with the matter since december. The problem also has been seen in Verizon and Daemon pop accounts.
In the there have been many suggsestions to solutions.
But so far nobody has been able to find a solution to why the mail settings changes from passwords to Apop and you are prompted for a apop password.
Apple has not fixed this bug and so far none here.
Is there somebody outhere who is able to fix that bug that Apple failed to fix?

Ummm...the best thing to do is not setup your Keychain password to be accepted once. When asked to accept your keychain, use the Always button.
Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access application has the option to repair the keychain from its menu. Use that to repair your Mail keychain.
If you are using any cache cleaning applications quit using them. They conflict with many an application and can cause damaged cache files, which among them are Mail's own:

Repair permissions with Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility, and not some third party utility.
If you aren't having any mail issues, don't create them by trying anything rash.
If your system is functional, back it up before doing anything else, and after saving any important files, so that if you add something to your system and it becomes malfunctioning, you can restore your backup. See my FAQ* on backing up:

Captivate 7 - The Exit Bug and a Solution

I wanted to take a second and share some good information I found in regards to SCORM and the Exit functionality in Captivate 7. Below is the blog post that shows how to make the Adobe Exit functionality "SCORM Compliant" and solved my issues when uploading my project and getting them to exit. Hope this helps
Captivate 7, Exit Bug and a Solution
Several of our Inquisiq R3 users have alerted us to the fact that courses developed with Captivate 7 published to HTML5 and SWF do not close properly when using the “Exit” button, forcing the user instead to manually close the browser window by clicking the “X” in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
Through our investigation into this issue, it appears that the process that Adobe has implemented when clicking the “Exit” button is to simply attempt to close the content window and rely on the LMS to capture and commit the session data. Nowhere did we see that the content was actually calling the “LMSFinish()” [SCORM 1.2] or “Terminate()” [SCORM 2004] methods in the LMS’s SCORM API to commit the lesson data to the LMS as required by the SCORM specification.
Adobe uses their own defined function, “DoCPExit,” to close a lesson window. This method contains a “window.close()” call and additional logic to “bubble up” the command through the frame parents (if they exist and also contain the “DoCPExit” method - presumably because they would also be Adobe-published content files within your package).
There are several flaws to this approach.
By not calling “LMSFinish()” or “Terminate(),” the content is, by definition, not SCORM conformant. Part of the minimum requirements for conformance are that the content calls the initialization method “LMSInitialize()” in SCORM 1.2 or “Initialize()” in SCORM 2004 and the termination method “LMSFinish()” in SCORM 1.2 or “Terminate()” in SCORM 2004. The LMS is not required to clean up the data left behind when the content fails to make this call. So if your LMS doesn’t take this additional step (of setting ‘LMSFinish’ or ‘Terminate’ if the lesson does not), your data will be completely lost…i.e. no record of you taking the lesson will be recorded.
The call to close the browser window will fail if the LMS is running the content within a frame or iframe. Since the SCORM specification allows content to be launched in frames or iframes (in addition to new browser windows), lessons need to be able to accommodate this scenario. Even with the “bubble up” logic, once the call reaches the top most content window, and the next parent window in line is the LMS container page, the call will no longer be passed and a “window.close()” call will be fired within the framed page. When this call is made, nothing will happen as a framed page cannot close the browser window using this command. Through our investigation, we’ve learned that at least 4 other well-known LMSs have experienced this particular issue.
Ironically, the solution that we’ve discovered is not only SCORM conformant, but also very simple and follows what we would consider to be SCORM “best practices”. The foundation and logic for the solution is already contained within the published Captivate files (and it is the same solution whether you publish to SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004).
We simply modify the “DoCPExit” method that is contained within the “Utilities.js” file to call the “Finish()” method. Just replace all the code appearing between the “{“and the “}” as you see here:

The “Finish()” method that we have inserted is, as mentioned, already contained within the published Captivate files and contains the logic to properly set the exit parameters and correctly identify whether the content is SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004; it will therefore make a call to the correct close method (“LMSFinish()” or “Terminate()”) accordingly. Once the LMS has received this command, it should take care of removing the content properly, leaving no need for any “bubble-up” logic or window close calls within the content code.
Overall, if the lessons you develop with Captivate 7 work as expected and required in your LMS, there is no need to implement this change. However, if your lesson’s Exit button is not working as it should, and/or you are losing progress and status data when closing the lesson, the fix described here should resolve all those issues.
The biggest issue here is that since we’re changing published code, the next time you update and publish that same Captivate project, you have to remember to change that published function code AGAIN, as Captivate will simply publish the default code.
We have been in touch with the Captivate team to discuss this problem and they are investigating. We would hope a patch to address this flaw would be released in the near future

Try clearing out your project cache (Preferences > General > Clear Cache) then republish using the option to Force Republish All Slides.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may be seeing the early stages of project file corruption. Check the suggestions in this post about troubleshooting issues where you may need to copy all slides to a new blank project shell to try and strip out corruption:

All users are complaining about NOKIA MAP Loader. Nokia is not giving any answers. So, we don't want to became nokia betatesters. Stop using this application... it is the biggest **bleep** i have ever seen!

I think route dragging should be implemented. It is a pain in the neck to always use additional waypoints, just to find the correct route

Naming subway stops is not Apple's responsibility and obviously not London's strenths. The pin shows the general location of "hammersmith".

When I enter "holloway road london", I get a bunch of pins and the first one that automatically gets selected is the subway station. Since that is one of "any of them", you have been proved wrong 4 times over.

Spilled water without flavorings and especially without sugar is something from which your computer may recover. The best thing to do is to shut off as quickly as possible and remove the battery pack. Place the computer in a sunny window with the lid open to promote evaporation of the water. On top of a refrigerator is also a warm perch that'll promote drying. It is difficult to say exactly how long it takes to dry the computer; that depends on ambient temperature and humidity, and how how water is in there.
The biggest threat from the water is corrosion of metal parts, so drying quickly is a must. Also, water can form mineral salt deposits that can grow conductive dendrites between adjacent traces on printed circuit boards. The formation of dendrites is aggravated if you apply power before the machine is dried out. The worst damage would be if water managed to get in the breather hole of the hard drive - luckily, the way the drive is mounted, that would be fairly unlikely.

How do I exclude directories from Finder search results? I'm trying to find the biggest FILES on my computer and it keeps showing me "Macintosh HD" as the biggest, how can I search for files of type "NOT folder/directory"?

Basically I've lost 10GB of free space over the last few weeks so my plan was to search for files modified in the last 2 weeks in order to figure out which ones are big and where that space went.
So I open finder, go to "File > Find", and enter a search:
Modified > In the last 2 weeks
All fine so far.
Problem is, it's showing whole directories as results. Which essentially means that when I order the list by size, Macintosh HD is at the top, followed by "Users", then "Applications", then one of my bigger movie files, then "Library", etc.
How can I do a search which will ignore folders? I want individual files. Knowing that Macintosh HD is the biggest item on my computer and was modified in the last 2 weeks is utterly useless to me.
Older versions of Finder in OS 9 had a feature where you could search for "files, whose type "IS NOT" folder", but OS X doesn't seem to have such a feature.
Can anyone help?

2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

When will Mozilla correct the printing bug with Firefox where only 1 page is printed?

There is a problem with FireFox whereby it only prints the FIRST PAGE of many sites.
Searching the web on this, it seems that this problem has been around for a long time and even what the cause is.
Apparently FireFox interprets the html text "overflow: hidden" as meaning to 'hide' all the rest of the page when printing.
Many users have reported this problem, but to date it has not been adressed.
Please correct this Mozilla (Or do I have to go back to using Safari?)
