Regarding transaction data in IDOC

Hey hi guys ...
well i am here just want to clarify a doubt ..that wether transaction data can be sent in an IDOC...i heard only master data can be sent ....
well the issue is ... i want to intimate the legacy systems when even there is a change in the price ...
and that is a transaction data ... well i do have some idea about IDOCs ... i think in this case we need to use CHANGE POINTERS...
well it would be much appreciable if any one would help me out in this issue ...
more exactly with some examples ....
thanks and regards

Hello,
For Sending Transaction Data, such as
1. Sales Orders (Order Response)
2. Delivery Notification
3. Advanced Shipment Notification
using EDI, we can Use Message Control. That is, we configure an Output Type and make the Transmission medium as EDI (6 - EDI).
When certain conditions are satisfied while creating or Changing the Application Document (Per say Sales Order or Shipment), the Output Type is proposed automatically. And an Idoc with all the Information of Shipments, Deliveries, Sales Orders, Partner Information (Transaction Data Examples) will be sent to the Business Partner.
Hope it was clear.
More Technical Information would include
WE31 - Creating Segment Definition
WE30 - Creating a Custom or IDoc Extension
WE81 - Creation of Message Type
WE82 - Assignment of IDoc type to Message Type
WE41 - Process Codes
WE20 - Partner Profiles
WE21 - Port Definitions
NACE / VK01 - Message Control Configuration

  • Regarding Posting Date in IDOC for Intercompany Invoice

    Hi,
We have priority issue regarding posting date in IDOC. When we create Intercompany invoice, billing date in intercompany is Actual GI date of delivery document and also Invoice posted with Actual GI date only. But, in IDOC, Posting date is appearing as Planned GI date of delivery document.
Actual GI date and Billing date and Posting date in IDOC should be same., but, posting date in IDOC is appearing as Planned GI date of delivery doc.
Kindly help in finding out the root cause of, why posting date in IDOC is not appearing as Billing date and appearing as Planned GI date of Delivery document. This issue is happening from past one month for Intercompany invoice, previously posting date in IDOC used to appear as Billing date only.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jai Prabhu.

    Hi Jai,
Are you using standard message type INVOIC ?
If so check SEGMENT E1EDK02 for date field
and also check if there is no code put to overwrite the date
you can check the code in Function module  "IDOC_OUTPUT_INVOIC"
    thanks

    hi all,
I am working on sap crm7.0 ehp1. I want to transfer my master and transactional data from crm development system to crm quality system here through idocs. I am aware of basic ale settings and successfully transfe the ztable data through idocs. But i am not able to find any proper step by step procedure for maste and transactional data in sap crm. Also sap ecc tcode NACE is not available here.
    pls help..
    regards,
    kavita chaudhary

    Kavita,
In CRM, Exchange Interface (XIF) ALE/IDOC is available to transfer master and transaction data. You can go through the following link for set up.
Basic Data exchange set up for ALE IDocs - Wiki - SCN Wiki
You can extend the standard XIF IDOCs using Transaction BDFg as well.

  • Idoc Serialization for Transactional data

    Hi All,
    1. Please let me know if you have done IDOC serialization for Transactional data.
If so please let me know the steps.
    2. How do we use serialiazation using object types. If you have done this please let me know the steps for this too.
    Thanks for your help.
    Srikanth.

    Hi Srikanth,
Follow the steps below to set up serialization using object types:
    1.       In the SAP menu choose ® IDoc Interface/ALE ® Development ® BAPI ® Serialization ® Serialization Using Business Objects ® Determine Supported Business Objects (transaction BD105). Enter all the business object types relevant for serialization.
    2.       In the SAP menu choose ® IDoc Interface/ALE ® Development ® BAPI ® Serialization ® Serialization Using Business Objects ® Assign Message Type to a Business Object (transaction BD104). Assign the message types relevant for serialization to each business object type.
    3.       In Customizing (IMG) activate the serialized distribution in both the sending and receiving systems:
    ALE Implementation Guide (transaction SALE)
    Modeling and Implementing Business Processes
    Master Data Distribution
Serialization for Sending and Receiving Data
    Serialization Using Business Objects
Execute activities Activate Outbound Business Objects and Activate Inbound Business Objects. Set the Serialization flag for the required business object types.
If you want to do serialization by message type then
    1. go to BD44 and create a serialization group and assign messages and the serial number to each.
    2. Run the program RBDSER01.
    Award points if useful,
    Aleem.

  • How to update transaction data automatically into MySQL database using PI

    Dear All,
With reference to subject matter I want a sincere advice regarding how to update transaction data automatically into MySQL database using PI. Is there any link available where I can get step-by-step process.
Ex: I have a MYSQL database in my organization. Whenever a delivery created in SAP some fields like DO Number, DO quantity, SO/STO number should get updated in MYSQL database automatically.

  • Doubt regarding  ALE SETTINGS in IDOC scenario.

    Hi Friends,
I have some doubts regarding ALE settings for IDOC scenarios,  can anyone  please clarify my doubts.
For exmaple take IDOC to FILE scenario
The knowledge i got from SDN is --
One need to do at the  R3 side is  --- RFC DESTINATION (SM59)  for the XI system.
--- TRFC PORT  for sending IDOC  to the  XI system
                                                       --- CREATING LOGICAL SYSTEM
                                                       --- CREATING PARTNER PROFILE
at the XI side is  --- RFC  Destination ( For SAP sender system)
--- CREATING  PORT  for receiving IDOC from the SAP sending system(IDX1).
    1. Do we create two logical systems for both Sender ( R3 system ) and Receiver( XI system ) in R3 system itself or in XI system or in both systems we create these logical systems? Is this a mandatory step in doing ALE configurations?
    In IDOC to IDOC scenario-------
      2.  Do we craete two RFC destinations in XI system? One RFC DESTINATION for the Sender R3 system and another RFC DESTINATION for the Receiver R3 System? and do we create RFC DESTINATION for the XI system in receiver R3 system? If not.....y we don't create like this........Please give me some clarity on this.............
      3.  If we use IDOC adapter ,since IDOC adapter resides on the ABAP STACK ,we don't need sender communication channel ,for the similar reason----
y we r creating receiver communication channel in the case of FILE to IDOC scenario?
      4. Can any one please provide me the ALE settings for IDOC to FILE scenario,
                                                                                    FILE to IDOC scenario,
    IDOC to IDOC scenario individually.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ramana.

    hi,
    1. Yes, we create two logical systems for both Sender ( R3 system ) and Receiver( XI system ) in R3 system itself and
it is a mandatory step in doing ALE configurations
    2. We create 1 RFC destination each in R3 and XI.
R3 RFC destination points to Xi and
XI RFC destination  points to R3
3 We need to create Communication Channel for Idoc receiver as the receiver channel is always required but sender may not be necessary
    4. ALE settings for all IDOC scenarios are same  as follows....
    Steps for ALE settings:-
    Steps for XI
    Step 1)
         Goto SM59.
Create new RFC destination of type 3(Abap connection).
Give a suitable name and description.
Give the Ip address of the R3 system.
         Give the system number.
Give the gateway host name and gateway service (3300 + system number).
Go to the logon security tab.
Give the lang, client, username and password.
         Test connection and remote logon.
    Step 2)
         Goto IDX1.
         Create a new port.
         Give the port name.
Give the client number for the R3 system.
         Select the created Rfc Destination.
    Step 3)
         Goto IDX2
         Create a new Meta data.
         Give the Idoc type.
         Select the created port.
    Steps for R3.
    Step 1)
         Goto SM59.
Create new RFC destination of type 3(Abap connection).

Go to the logon security tab.
Give the lang, client, username and password.
         Test connection and remote logon.
    Step 2)
         Goto WE21.
Create a port under transactional RFC.(R3->XI)
Designate the RFC destination created in prev step.
    Step 3)
         Goto SALE.
         Basic settings->Logical Systems->Define logical system.

  • 4r Transactional data  ALE or EDI

    Hi Guys!
I ve my customer using SAP System & me too, Shall i use ALE to Connect my SAP to  my customer SAP System to transfer transactional data or  i ve to go for EDI.
      Thanks In Advance.

    Hi,
Since both are having SAP systems, no need to go with EDI to transfer transactional data. You can use IDoc as an interface technology.
If you decide to go with EDI then you may need to have middleware for data transformation/translation. In your case, no needed.

  • Regarding genric data source

    hi guyz,
i have some doubts regarding generic data source for the following qeastion.
1).what is ALE pointer(ALE delta)?.in which senario we use this?.can u explain me with one realtime senario so that i can understand easily.
2).what is SLA? explain with one senario.
3).when we use these t-codes: RSMO,SM50 in process chain.

    1. ALE is Application Link Enabling (ALE)
It is the set of tools, programs, and data definitions that provides the mechanism for distributing SAP functionality and data across multiple systems. ALE enables the construction and operation of distributed applications.
Its purpose was to overcome the limitations of a single SAP system. A single SAP system that runs on top of one database often does not fulfill the needs of larger corporations, either from a business or a technical perspective.ALE allows the implementation of loosely coupled SAP systems; each of the SAP systems has its own database and is essentially independent from the other systems. ALE allows us to distribute data between different systems and different business processes.
ALE enables you to transfer data(master/transactional data) from an SAP system to SAP/Non-SAP system you can use ALE.This done using IDOCs.
    ALE can be divided into
Output Process: Extracting data from database and putting it in the IDOC.
Communication Process: Which involves transferring the IDOC to the target system.
Inbound Process: Posting the IDOC data into the tables of the receiver system.
    2. SLA is service level agreement, what you need on this ?? Its an agreement betn client and service provider regarding the service request and their resolution. Like P! issue should be solved in 1 hr , P2 issue 3 hr..something like that, varies from client to client
    3. RSMO is used to monitor the data load in BW. You have several options to restrict your criteria to monitor load.
In SM37 if you goto the job and double click on that, it brings you to another screen with some details for the job. IN this screen if you hit the job details button in the resulting screen, it'll show you a PID number and an executing server number. With this combination, you can check the job in SM50.
    Assign Points if helpfull.
    Thanks

  • Diff B/W master data and transaction data

    Hi all,
What is the main Diff B/W master data and transaction data.  give me some example ?
    Thanks in Advance
    Krish...

    hi krish,
MASTER Data is the data that exists in the organization like employee details, material master, customer master, vendor master etc. These are generally created once.
Master data are distributed throughout the company, they are often not standardised and often redundant. As a result it is very costly to offer efficient customer service, keep track of supply chains and make strategic decisions. With SAP Master Data Management (SAP MDM) these important business data from across the company can be brought together, harmonised and made accessible to all staff and business partners. As a key component of SAP NetWeaver, SAP MDM ensures data integrity via all IT systems.
Regardless of the industry, companies often work with different ERP and Legacy systems. The result: the business processes are based on information about customers, partners and products which is displayed in different ways in the systems. If the data are recorded manually, there are more inconsistencies: some data sets are entered several times, others cannot be retrieved by all divisions of the company.
As corporate applications are becoming increasingly complex and produce ever greater amounts of data, the problem is intensified further. Nevertheless, your employees must work with the inconsistent data and make decisions on this basis. The lack of standardised master data easily leads to wrong decisions, which restrict efficiency and threaten customer satisfaction and profitability.
In a word: in order to save costs and ensure your company’s success it is necessary to consolidate master data about customers, partners and products, make them available to all employees beyond system boundaries and use attributes valid company-wide for the purpose of description.
TRASNACTION Data - These are the business documents that you create using the master data - Purchase orders, sales orders etc

  • Problem while  data processing TRANSACTION data from DSO to CUBE

    Hi Guru's,
we are facing problem while  data processing TRANSACTION data from DSO to CUBE. data packets  processing very slowly  and updating .Please help me regarding this.
    Thanks and regards,
    Sridhar

    Hi,
I will suggest you to check a few places where you can see the status
    1) SM37 job log (give BIrequest name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
    2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish.
    3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
    4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.
You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the cube.
    Thanks,
    JituK
