BCC takes 5min+ to load the assets tab or to paginate

Hi,
We have implemented all of the ATG support magic of 1038123.1 (BCC is slow when viewing product catalog assets), that is, add indexes against dcs_prd_chldsku, dcs_cat_chldprd and dcs_cat_chldcat. We are using MS SQL so we have already have loadItemBatchSize set to 50 on the repos. We have also done a complete review on the cache settings and reviewed any weak cache entries. After a restart and a browsing a few projects we have no weak entries (all 0's in the weakHitCount column), which should in essence populate some of the cache, in fact our cache sizes are in the thousands, and even if several hundred products are in cache and there is still plenty of extra room for more, the assets tab still takes at least 5 min to load. We have somewhere in the order of 25K unversioned products, so the number of versioned assets would be somewhere in the hundreds of thousands across the entire catalog. This is also the same if you click next or back (i.e back to the first page, which should presumably already have those items in cache).
Does anyone else have any recommendations for having this tab load faster?
We are on RHEL5/ATG 9.4/MS SQL 2005.

Please make sure all the indexes for the Pub schema are rebuilt/up-todate. In ATG 10.0.2 we had a similar problem. During verification we found that Pub schema indexes are very old and not updated after the data loaded into the Pub. Rebuilding the indexes solved the issue for us. See if this works for you.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have attempted this many times to no avail. As I said in my original post, "I have researched this problem on this forum and the Adobe site and believe that I have tried everything over the past week."

How can I capture and take screenshots of all the browser tabs and not only windows ?

This class identifies all minimized windows and take a snapshot (screenshot) of them. I want to take screenshots also of all the broswer for example chrome tabs windows that are open but not in the front. Same idea that it get now the minimized windows but
to get the screenshots of the broswer opened tabs ! What should I change in the WindowSnap class? Since both classes are a bit long I added them to pastebin.com
What i'm doing now is to get all the minimized windows i mean all the the windows in the back if it's chrome browser windows or open tabs if it's program games other windows. This is what i'm doing in form1 constructor:

The problem is in form1 constructor i'm getting only 23-24 windows in the listBox1. When i'm doing this two lines:

I see in numitems about 30 windows and after filtering i'm getting 20 windows and i checked that's the correct number of opened minmizied windows i have in this example 20.
Now what i want to do is somehow to get with all this windows in the listBox also all the opened tabs in chrome.
For exmaple i have only 4 opened chrome windows. But in one of the chrome windows i have almost 40 tabs opened !
I want somehow to add to the listBox all this opened tabs also as captured screenshots like i'm doing now with the windows.
This is a screenshot of my program showing what i'm doing and what i get:
So now i have 19 windows captured in the next refresh it will show 20.
My question is if there is any way to capture also all the chrome opened tabs in all the windows if any opened tabs are opened at all ? Now i'm getting only the chrome opened windows captured screenshot. But i want to get also the chrome tabs captured screenshots.

Firefox cannot load anything but the Inbox on gmail (it can neither reply, nor forward, nor load the Settings tab), but the xplorer can

I have a very specific problem, only with the Gmail page. This problem only occurs on Firefox. I get the Inbox page and see my messages, but I cannot do anything other than that. I cannot reply, forward, or open the Settings tab. Whenever I try to do anything of the sort, it remains jammed on "Loading..." and never changes the page. I do not experience this problem with the Explorer, so I have to use Explorer to work with my Gmail web account.

I have two yahoo accounts and I know as they 'improved' their servers I had periodic outages. It'd work fine on my webmail on my computer, webmail on the iPad, but not via the mail app. And it was stuff on their end. It may be a case of wait and see and you may need to eventually remove/readd the account on your iPhone.
When the issue is on their end, unfortunately there's not much for users to do beyond wait it out or find work arounds.

How can I roll back to an earlier version, since upgrading to 7 it takes FOREVER to load with multiple tabs!

I am using mulptiple tabs in groups - an excellent feature - this worked well in V6. Now I have upgraded to V7 when I closed down Firefox and relaunch it to takes a VERY long time - up to 30 minutes - to connect to all of the tabs. This is new. and before you ask, no it is not my Internet connection. If I launch IE8 it works perfectly!

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9860 smartphone.
It is not recommended to downgrade your software, however, if you wish to do so you will need to consult your mobile carriers download site at www.na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp and see if the previous software version is posted. If so, download and install it to your computer then use the BlackBerry® Desktop Software to install the older software version.

I get a download error when I try to load the apps tab in the creative cloud application.

When I click on the "Reload Applications" button this same error comes up. Clicking on "Get help" has been no help.

Nothing is working right, it freezes all the time and takes forever to load

The first time I switched to Firefox 4 it worked really fast but since then it takes forever to load, the pages freeze, some sites don't recognize 4. It is very irritating trying to just get on the internet. Facebook will load slower that ever and freeze constantly. Other sites partially load then freeze. Typing anything will often freeze in mid word. I hate this. What is going on?

Everytime I click on a menu, and it drops down my iPhone lets me click on it but never actually loads the tab I clicked on, what should I do?

Everytime I click on the menu to login to my school portal, it opens the drop down menu but it never loads the actual tab I'm clicking on. I don't know if that's because of settings or what it is but I've tried everything possible. I also noticed there was a little padlock by the URL on Safari and I don't think it's the problem I don't know how to get rid of it though. Can anyone help?

Opening tabs from last time opens home pages until I load them, which opens the correct tab

When I open Firefox, and I have multiple tabs opened from last time, and also have "do not load tabs until selected" checked, my home pages load in the place of 'unloaded' tabs from last time, but, when I click them, they load the appropriate tab that I had open last time.
It's a strange glitch that happens every single time, and I request a SOLUTION, not an alternate setting or workaround. I don't want to load up 10+ tabs (having "do not load tabs until selected" unchecked) every time I open Firefox, and my 4 extra homepage tabs have heavy flash material, so I'd not want them loading on startup either.

Try to "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
Also make sure that you do not use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the the Cache (Firefox will disable the disk cache in this case, see about:cache)
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Its a Muse property to re-sample any asset that is more than 248 px.
To get rid of re-sampling do the following
1. Please click on the image and Make Sure Image Frame is selected.
2. Go to The Transform tab and change width and height to the original values. (now you will observe that the width and height of image frame is changed but not the Image)
3. Double click on the image and make sure Image is selected with a red selection around it.
4. Go to The Transform tab and change width and height to the original values. (now you will observe that the width and height of image frame is same as the Image)
5. Now go to the assets tab > right click on the asset > select "Import larger size".
Now this asset will always be imported in original size.

Scorm pkg made up of number of FLV files takes time to load in LMS

Hi everyone,
I m creating the scorm packages in captivate. The source, i have received in MP4 format which I am converting into FLV files. I have loaded these FLV files on to slides in captivate. This way I am creating the scorm package using scorm 1.2 settings.
Problem: I have loaded the scorm package to LMS and tested it. It takes longer to load the files than the usual time. Can I reduce this time frame somehow? I know video needs a buffering time, but if there's any way to reduce this time - it would be a great help.

Hi Vikas,
The time it is taking is because of the size of the project and the load on the bandwidth at your end.
Basically, you need to reduce the size of your package. So, to do that encode your FLV videos to a smaller size using Adobe Media Encoder. And then add them to the slide again and re-publish the SCORM package.
Tip : While Encoding, Keep the level as Baseline or Low and Target Bitrate as least as possible, it would display your the expected file size at the below, when you use custom encoding settings.

My requirement is we want only the report alone in obiee format and rest of the things in portal format. ex. in OBIEE we are having page tab in blue colour at the top. In our portal we want to create a box like structure inside that box we need OBIEE report and at the left top corner we need to have the page tab. We planned to remove the page tab from OBIEE and replace it with portal tab strucutre initially but in that case we need to have separate dashboard for each page and it will end up in creating so many dashboards. So we decided to alter the OBIEE tab as per the Portal tab. Our UI team told us that css level changes are not enough, you provide us the path of the xml fiile and we wil take care of altering the OBIEE tabs. So now im searching for the Tab html file.
I dont think i explained my requirement correctly. Sorry guys...

Why does my Windows Live Hotmail take forever to load?

Over the past month or so, my Firefox browser hasn't been playing very nicely with Windows Live Hotmail. For one, it takes forever to load the page, and I stare at a white screen for a good 3 minutes before it finally loads. HughesNet is my Internet Service Provider, and it shouldn't take that much time for my Hotmail to load. I could see it if it were a DialUp connection being this slow! The other thing I want to mention is that for some reason, my SilverLight plugin keeps crashing! All of my 3rd party plugins are fully up to date, including my SilverLight. It won't allow me to upload pictures to attach to e-mails! Instead, I get a sad face, telling me that my SilverLight has crashed! What is the problem that is causing this? Assets tab is blank - on both computers

Does the Assets tab in the Creative Cloud desktop app have a purpose? It doesn't show anything. I've re-installed it on both my computers and it remains blank.
