BDC Session in Test Mode

Hi Guys,
Can we run BDC seesions in test mode. If yes how.
Thanks,
Rohit

Hi,
Only some FI transactions can be run in Test mode.
In BDC's till the cursor reaches OK code of the SAVE button it won't get saved in Database, but once pressed SAVe you won't have control.
So running BDC's in test mode  can't arise.

  • How can we execute the BDC session in error mode through se38 programme

    Dear Experts,
    How can we execute the BDC session in error mode through se38 programme....
    we can execute the session in the below 2 ways
    1) Through SM35 we can process the session manually in foreground/Error mode or Background also.
    2) through RSBDCSUB (standared Program) we can process the session in back ground.
    But i want to process the session in foreground or Error mode..Do we have any standared program for process the session in foreground or error mode.
    Please suggest.

    Hi,
    SAP was smart enough to provide this little program: RSBDCCTU

    Maybe the answer to your question is just to use CALL TRANSACTION ... USING ... (see the example in RSBDCCTU). You can also generate such a program using transaction SHDB

    Hi Bussa,
    Please maintain the mode as 'E' . If there is any errors it will stop else it will run.

  • BDC VA01 in background mode error

    Hi ,
    I am psoting data into VA01 using BDC call transaction in background mode for two cases.
    For one it is running successfully and for the other it is not.
    I have compared the data in the table BDCDATA for both the cases and it is same.
    Then I tried debugging in foreground mode and the same case which was not running earlier is running in foreground mode.
    Please advice what could be the problem?

    Hello ABHI,
    The problem is because of some breakpoints created by you. So it is entering it to debugger in the background mode which cannot be handled by the BDC. Delete all your breakpoints before testing or open a new logon session to test it in background.
    Hope this solves your problem.

  • SM35 Re-processing of Incorrect/Error session in Background Mode

    Hi all,
    I am trying to reprocess a session in SM35 which is in Error status. Here I am a facing an issue, if I reprocess this session in background mode then it says that Batch input data is not available for a screen which is already processed. Ideally it should start from the screen where it threw error in the first run. If I select mode as Foreground or Display error then session is getting processed correctly.
    Note:
    If the session is in Ready to Process state then processing in background works perfectly fine. Has anyone came across this problem ?
    Has anyone tried reprocessing Incorrect Session in background mode ??????
    Regrads,
    Antony

    Thanks Sandra,
    Indeed I understood the problem. And the problem is that transaction KEBC is always executed correctly & since its processed correctly its removed from the BDC Queue
    Here transaction KEBC, sets a Memory Parameter, and transaction KEU2, first checks whether the memory parameter is initial, if found intial it pops-up a screen and makes the user enter it. In my case KEBC  always run successfully
    As you rightly suggested when session is in error, transaction KEBC is not getting called again to set the memory parameter & its throwing the pop-up from the transaction KEU2 to be entered by the user. ( BDCDATA currently dosent handle this Pop-up).
    I could have omitted the KEBC transaction, but handling this pop-up from transaction KEU2 becomes tricky since it will only pop-up if the memory parameter is initial. And unfortunately Pop-up is the first screen in the sequence for transaction for KEU2 & nothing can be done in coding level to call KEU2 with the pop-up in all scenarios(Even when Memmory varaible is set) !
    So I am kind of in a dilema, how to handle this? What I am suggesting to the Functional consultant is that let the session be only run in background mode (as it will be always in a new internal session memory variable will always be inital ) & I will record this pop-up in my BDC omitting transaction KEBC.
    Do you have anyother solution for this?
    Or is there any option to re process even the successfull transacations ?

  • How to get transacted session in direct mode with jmsra adapter

    Hi,
    I use MQ 4.4u1 release with GF in EMBEDDED mode. I configured several connection factories with NoTransaction/LocalTransaction/XATransaction support. In my app I get a connection factory from JNDI tree, create connection/session/producer and send several messages to queue. Everything works fine when I don't use transactions. But, when I want to send messages in one transaction, the connection always provided to me non-transacted session. The session created via
    Session session = connection.createSession(true, Session.SESSION_TRANSACTED);
    request. I check the session transacted state and acknowledge mode right after i get it:
    log.fine("Session: " + session + "; transacted: " + session.getTransacted() + "; ackMode: " + session.getAcknowledgeMode());
    The log shows me that the session is not transacted and ackMode is 0 (DUPS_OK_ACKNOWLEDGE). If I try to commit the session after messages were sent I get the correct exception:
    javax.jms.IllegalStateException: MQJMSRA_DS4001: commit():Illegal for a non-transacted Session:sessionId=3361979872663370240
    Does anyone know how to get transactional session in direct mode?
    Thanks, Denis.

    I mentioned LOCAL because I misread your post and thought you were suggesting that LOCAL mode behaved differently.
    If you want to send messages in a transaction from within a Servlet then I think you're expected to use a UserTransaction: Here's an example that worked for me:
            Connection connection = outboundConnectionFactory.createConnection();
            Session session = connection.createSession(true, Session.SESSION_TRANSACTED);
            userTransaction.begin();
            MessageProducer producer = session.createProducer(outboundQueue);
            int numberOfMessages = 10;
            for (int i = 0; i<numberOfMessages; i++) {
                Message message = session.createTextMessage("Hello world");
                producer.send(message);
            userTransaction.commit();
            connection.close();I obtained the UserTransaction with this resource declaration:
        @Resource(name = "java:comp/UserTransaction")
        private UserTransaction userTransaction;The EJB spec explicitly states that local transactions aren't supported in EJBs; I haven't found such an explicit statement for Servlets but suspect that JMSRA is taking the same approach.
    As for imq.jmsra.direct.disableCM property - this appears to disable connection pooling and from your post changes other behaviour as well. How did you find out about it (other than by examining the code)? As far as I can see this is not a documented feature and is not necessarily tested or supported.

  • BDC Session Saves Data Only in Foreground

    I have created a bdc program to create an SM35 session of CA02.  The wierd thing is that the session will run in background with no errors, but the data is not updated.  If I run the session in foreground the data is updated.  Have I overlooked something simple?

    To see what is going on, I commented out the save at the end to force it to error out.  If I run the session in foreground the data is changed.  If I run it in display errors only mode, the data is not changed.  So it seems not to have anything to do with the save at the end.  Perhaps it is now appropriate to post some of the code.
    After the data file is uploaded into the itab and the bdc group has been created, for each routing group I do the following:
      PERFORM dynpro USING:
    * ***   Initial Screen   ***
          'X'   'SAPLCPDI'       '1010',
          ' '   'RC271-PLNNR'    gk_rec-groupnum,
          ' '   'BDC_OKCODE'     '/00',
    * *** Header Overview  ***
          'X'   'SAPLCPDI'       '1200',
          ' '   'BDC_OKCODE'     'MTUE'.     "open material allocation screen
    Then for each material allocation the data file says to delete:
      PERFORM dynpro USING:
    * *** Material Allocation ***
          'X'   'SAPLCZDI'         '1010',
          ' '   'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'  gv_entry,   "gv_entry holds row number to delete
          ' '   'BDC_OKCODE'       'ENT1',       "position button
          'X'   'SAPLCZDI'         '1010',
          ' '   'BDC_CURSOR'       'MAPL-MATNR(01)',  "place cursor on the line to delete
          ' '   'BDC_OKCODE'       'LOE',                      "delete line
          'X'   'SAPLSPO1'         '0100',
          ' '   'BDC_OKCODE'       'YES'.                      "confirm dialog
    then at the end of the session:
      PERFORM dynpro USING:
            'X'   'SAPLCZDI'       '1010',
            ' '   'BDC_OKCODE'     'BACK', "leave material allocation screen
            'X'   'SAPLCPDI'       '1200',
            ' '   'BDC_OKCODE'     'BU'.  "save
    Then, I insert into the bdc session using tcode ca02.  All this given the following subroutine:
    FORM dynpro USING p_dynbegin TYPE any p_name TYPE any p_value TYPE any.
      CLEAR gk_bdc_tab.
      IF p_dynbegin = 'X'.
        MOVE:  p_name  TO gk_bdc_tab-program,
               p_value TO gk_bdc_tab-dynpro,
               'X'   TO gk_bdc_tab-dynbegin.
      ELSE.
        MOVE:  p_name  TO gk_bdc_tab-fnam,
               p_value TO gk_bdc_tab-fval.
      ENDIF.
      APPEND gk_bdc_tab TO gt_bdc_tab.
    ENDFORM.
    It seems that the cursor isn't specifying the line to delete when run in background.

  • Bdc session in status being created

    Hi..
    I have a custom program that creates bdc sessions. For some of the sessions it created, the status of the session is being created.
    when i click on analysis of that session: it has
    1 transaction with 8 screens in new
    1 transaction with 8 screens in to process
    1 transaction with 8 screens in current content
    1 transaction with 8 screens in removed with - ve sign after 1 and 8.
    0 transaction with 0 screens in (created, deleted, processed and incorrect)
    Can someone tell me what might be the reason for the session to be in being created?
    Appreciate your help and will reward helpful answers.
    Thanks,
    RK

    Yes. As I said before thsi is because the BDC_CLOSE was not executed. You are seeign them as being created could be because soem was was tryign to debug the program and woudl have jumped out of the program half way. In this case the BDC_CLOSE would not have executed and the session will remain as 'Being created'. You dont have to worry abt it and it is purely because of partial execution of the program. You can try it on yoru own by gettign into the debugging mode and terminate the program after BDC_OPEN FM is executed. You will see another session with status beign created. The number of transaction in this session will depend on what point did you terminate the program.

    Hi Srinivas,
    Thanks very much.You understood what I meant exectly.
    Because the files provided by the several banks systems are not the same format,so we can not use the report RFEBKA00.And now we are developing the system connecting to the bank system directly,we can get the data from the bank and upload them to the sap system without creating a file.
    So we use the FF67 BDC
    The program like this:
    "it_data" is the internal table containing the data from the bank system.
    "l_mnam1" is the session name created by the program.
    PERFORM fill_bdcdata USING:

  • Bdc sessions Issues

    I have a users who is trying to process a BDC session in sm35 and they are getting you are unable to schedule session XXXX.
    I checked sm35 and they have access to it
    And object S_BDC_MONI has values of ABTC, ANAL, AND AONL.
    Nothing happens of course they are offsight so an su53 I am unable to do now............any suggestions.
    THANKS!!!!

    Maritza,
    There are many reasons why ST01 is not showing results.  Try practicing with it in one of your test systems or see if anyone in your area has used it before who may provide assistance.
    Try one other thing after the user runs the transaction.  You run SU53.  Then hit F5 and put in the user ID of the user with the issue.  See what object shows up.
    Cheers,

  • Bdc session method

    Hi all ,
    where BDC_OK  fields  will store  in which table .
    and also how to reslove the screen resolution  in bdc session method .
    Regards ,
    Kiran .

    hi
    to maintain Screen Resolution just try this
    in the BDC Program source code u will find
    include BDCRECX1 just double click on it,u can see the selection screen of BDC
    and form definitions for Open_Group ,BdcTransaction & CloseGroup,since it is a std include program
    u cannot change it so copy this to a Z include and use that Z include instead of BDCRECX1
    Then go to form BDCTRANSACTION using TCODE
    in that form Declare a workarea(eg: opt) of structure type CTU_PARAMS
    data:   messtab like bdcmsgcoll occurs 0 with header line.
    data : opt type ctu_params.
    pass the values to it
    dismode-> Processing mode (A,E,N,P)
    updmode-> Update mode (L,S,A)
    defsize-> Default Screen Size (X) to maintain Screen Resolution
      opt-dismode = ctumode.
      opt-updmode = cupdate.
      opt-defsize = 'X'.
    if session = 'X'.
        call function 'BDC_INSERT'
         exporting
           tcode                  = tcode
           ctuparams              = 'OPT'
          tables
            dynprotab              = bdcdata.
    else.
        refresh messtab.
        call transaction tcode using bdcdata options from opt messages into messtab.
    endif.

  • Question in BDC session method.

    Hi guys,
    I am trying to upload BOM using BDC session method.
    While doing this, i have learnt the steps by heart. But i do not understrand the logic behind the steps. For example, why do we include this statement
    Data: IT-BDC like BDCDATA occurs 0 with headerline.
    What if we don't include this statement?
    Moderator message: sorry, these forums are not targeted to provide step by step guides to beginners, please search for available information, take courses, etc.

    Hello Dhirendra,
    Thanks for immediate reply. I want to understand BDC method conceptually. What exactly happens by performing each step.
    I am putting up the BDC i made. I copied some of the code from here and there. It works fine but i don't understand the purpose of BDCDATA,
    call transaction 'cs01'
    and form bdc_dynpro and form bdc_field.
    I am quite new to ABAP. Please don't mind if i ask dumb questions.
    I am unable to understand how control flows through the code logic.

  • Can anybody pls tell me  limitations of BDC Session & Call transaction?

    hi, Guys, this is srinivas.
    How can we deside which method is to(BDC session/ Call transaction)
    use to upload data to SAP database?
    Can we run Call Transaction in Background?
    Which is preferable for bulk data? and Why?
    how can we restart Session if any error occurs?
    Thanku?

    Hi,
    Hope it helps this......
    SAP BDC INTERVIEW QUESTIONS  & ANSWERS
    1.       What is full form of BDC Session?
    Batch Data Communication Session.
    2.       What are the steps in a BDC session?
    The first step in a BDC session is to identify the screens of the transaction that the program will process.  Next step is to write a program to build the BDC table that will be used to submit the data to SAP.  The final step is to submit the BDC table to the system in the batch mode or as a single transaction by the CALL TRANSACTION command.
    3.       How do you find the information on the current screen?
    The information on the current screen can be found by SYSTEM à STATUS command from any menu.
    4.       How do you save data in BDC tables?
    The data in BDC tables is saved by using the field name ‘BDC_OKCODE’ and field value of ‘/11’.
    5.       What is the last entry in all BDC tables?
    In all BDC tables the last entry is to save the data by using the field name BDC_OKCODE and a field value of ‘/11’.
    6.       What is a multiple line field?
    A multiple line field is a special kind of field which allows the user to enter multiple lines of data into it.
    7.       How do you populate data into a multiple line field?
    To populate data into a multiple line field, an index is added to the field name to indicate which line is to be populated by the BDC session (Line index).
    8.       Write the BDC table structure.
    BDC table structure
    FIELD                     TYPE                            DESCRIPTION
    Program                CHAR (8)                      Program name of transaction.
    DynPro                 CHAR (4)                      Screen number of transaction.
    DynBegin              CHAR (1)                      Indicator for new screen.
    Fnam                    CHAR (35)                     Name of database field from screen.
    Fval                      CHAR (80)                     Value to submit to field.
    9.       Does the CALL TRANSACTION method allow multiple transactions to be processed by SAP?
    No.  The CALL TRANSACTION method allows only a single transaction to be processed by SAP.
    10.    Does the BDC-INSERT function allow multiple transactions to be processed by SAP?
    Yes.
    11.    What is the syntax for ‘CALL TRANSACTION’?
    CALL TRANSACTION trans .
    Three possible entries are there for MODE.
                      A          -           Show all screens.
                      E          -           Show only screens with errors.
                      N          -           Show no screens.

  • Capturing Batch Input Log without keeping BDC session

    Hi all -
    Would like to capture the Batch Input log and keep it persistent in some manner (for example using an application log) without keeping the corresponding BDC session.  The reason for this is that any manual corrections to data interfaces through BDC sessions MUST be logged indefinitely for audit purposes.  The actual BDC sessions are HUGE and therefore precludes saving the entire BDC session.  My thoughts are user-exit'ing in BDC session either as a Batch Input Log is being created or when a Session is being deleted (NOTE: running ECC 6.0 which has new enhancement concept permitting extremely flexible user-exit'ing so exit points are NOT an issue and repair/core mode not required).  Anyone see any flaws with this approach or can recommend perhaps a simpler or standard approach so that Batch Input Logs are retained indefinitely whereas the Session is deleted?
    Many thanks,
    Pat

    Hi Pat,
    Why dont you try archiving?
    For archiving, archive object BDCLOGPROD can be used. if archived, then you can read the archived logs using program RSBDC_ARCHREAD (also accessible from SARA->Read).
    See some notes if it is helpful:
    147354, 18319, 24438, 18307
    Also have a look at the Data Management Guide available at service.sap.com/data-archiving.
    Hope this helps,
    Naveen
