Best book for Web Developer learning flash

I've gotten far on my own just using online tutorials and dinking around in Flash on my own but my boss(es) are starting to ask for more complex stuff that I simply can't learn by just piecing together my Flash education.
I know there's many, many books out there that will teach you Flash but can anyone recommend any particular one(s) that are more concentrated in creating Web elements as opposed to game or animation development?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I hope this link would be helpful for you books For web developer Using Flash by "William Sanders"

  • Best book for Web Services

Can you suggest me what's best book for Web Services and XML to study? I'm planning to buy..
    Thanks in advance..

Why does it need to be the best one? What would that even mean? Just buy something reputable, like an O'Reilly book, it's not going to be so horrifically poor that you can't learn from it

  • Best program for web development?

    Hello everyone
I was just wondering what is in your opinion the best tool for creating web based applications (or even desktop based applications).
I have used Jdeveloper and Dreamweaver before and Jdeveloper had a lot more functionality out of the box but Dreamweaver seemed to give me more freedom (especially when working with the design part of my page).
Also Jdeveloper is a lot more complex but I think without fully understanding every aspect of it you can develop some pretty nifty applications. My main gripe is the deployment which has to have the same version of weblogic and Jdeveloper and you have to install Jdeveloper on the server (the weblogic server alone isn't enough) to support ADF etc.
I don't have experience in the other ones (NetBeans, Eclipse, Visual Studio etc)
So the question is which is the best for web development: Visual Studio, Jdeveloper, Apex, Dreamweaver, NetBeans, IntelliJ, Eclipse etc???

Dreamweaver is for the view part only, as in the (X)HTML and CSS stuff. You aren't going to do Java development using Dreamweaver.
There is no definitive answer to your question as you are basically asking this: what are my personal preferences? Nobody can answer that, only you. So there is nothing you can do but download everything you want to try and actually do that: try it out. See what feels good and what doesn't. Only then will you be able to make a choice.
All I can give you at this point in time is MY personal preferences, which do not have to be the same as yours at all. I use Eclipse for full blown JavaEE development because there are a few plugins available for Eclipse that are not available for Netbeans that I really like and use to good effects (mostly related to JBoss). For everything else however, which includes Swing development, game development and plain Java web development I use Netbeans because to me it is a more "polished" product where things such as Subversion and Maven integration just work without conflicts.

  • Best Eclipse for Web development

I am going to download Eclipse and was wondering which one is the best for Web development on Tomcat?
    Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers // I assume this is best for web development?
    Eclipse Classic 3.3.1.1

    hi,
    Not only Eclipse,
    Netbeans,
IntellijIdea is also there, but it comes under licence,
so what you feel is better, use that IDE..

  • T440s for WEB developer

    Hello,
I am a web developer developing intensive web apps using Java, JavaScript, LifeRay, MySQL etc. It means I have many things going on on my laptop like:
    - IDE for editing the code
    - MySQL server
    - HTTP server to run developed apps
    - Many browser windows to test the app
I am looking for a main development machine that will be fast for my needs plus that can be used while commuting so portability is important for me.
440s looks like a good machine BUT I am not sure about low powered intel CPU.  This is exact model I am looking into: ThinkPad T440s 14" / i5-4210U 1.7 GHz / 8 Gt / 256 Gt SSD
1.7 GHz sounds very limiting. My current laptop has 2.5 GHz speed and browser windows are opened very fast. But if I try to slow down the CPU to 1.7 GHz similar to T440s browser windows starts to open with considerable annoying delays.
Ofcourse when slowing down CPU I also disable Turbo Boost.
Now the question: Is T440s good for web development with liferay etc? Will turbo boost solve the problem of slow opening chrome windows I experienced with another 1.7 GHz laptop? Generally, anyone have similar experience with this laptop? Any help will be appreciated.

  • Best books for a beginner.

I am in a Java class right now, and the material as it has been presented has been very confusing. I really want to get a good understanding of Java, my question is: What are the best books for someone that is starting to learn Java? I was looking through different reviews of Java books, and Just Java 2 by Peter van der Linden sounds good, but I want the book to explain Java in the simplest form as possible.
If I could get some more recommendations I would appreciate it.
    Thanks.

Head First Java is wonderful, but I wouldn't use that book on its own. It's a lot of theory, but very few examples and no programming exercises. Some books tell you how to do something, but they don't tell you why it works, so you end up unable to program anything that isn't exactly like what they showed you. Head First Java really gets into the why and it's great for making you think like a programmer, especially if the object-oriented thinking isn't coming naturally. But you need a book that has more of a tutorial format in addition to Head First.

  • Best book for beginner?

    Hello,
Can anyone recommend the best book for a complete novice to Illustrator?
Ive a background in GIS and am wanting to learn to improve my cartographic skills.
Does anyone know if theres a book out there that caters towards cartography in illustrator?
Anyway to get started and learn the basics any preference between Adobe Illustrator CS5 Classroom in a Book:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Illustrator-CS5-Classroom-Book/dp/032170178X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=U TF8&qid=1306750888&sr=8-1
    and
The Adobe Illustrator CS5 Wow! Book:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Illustrator-CS5-Wow-Book/dp/0321712447/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qi d=1306750974&sr=8-1
    Thanks for any help/advice!!

The WOW book is really for someone with a working knowledge of illustrator and in my opinion pretty useless especially for a beginner.
Classroom in a Book is an instructional book with tutorials to follow and will give you a working knowledge of how Illustrator works.
Mordy Goldings Book Real World Illustrator will give essentially instructional use of the program similar to informatio in the help files but in an instructional way organized fro the beginning to to end of the features.
As far as for Cartography I do not know why there is not one on the market as one of he contributors to the WOW book is a cartographer.
Illustrator is used a lot by map makers so it would probably be a good idea to have such a book.

  • Best certification for a developer

    Hi all.
I'm a developer and my company asked me to get a SAP certificate.
They let me choose the certification i prefere, so i'm here with some simple questions:
1-What is the best certificate for a developer? (i worked on R/3 4.7 release for 4 years and now i'm moving on 6.0).
    2-Why?
3-How the exam works? (mnemonic questions? Solving problems? Developing some pieces of code?)
4-What is the best way to pass the exam? (SAP courses, books, voodoo rites )
    Thank you for the answers.

    Hi Simone,
1-What is the best certificate for a developer? (i worked on R/3 4.7 release for 4 years and now i'm moving on 6.0).
    2-Why?
3-How the exam works? (mnemonic questions? Solving problems? Developing some pieces of code?)
4-What is the best way to pass the exam? (SAP courses, books, voodoo rites )
    These are the answers:
1-There is nothing like best certification---U attempt for that in which you work. If u wrk in WD ABAP for examplr then you should take ABAP with netweaver. Or u shud get certified in the tech in which u r planning to wrk in future.
2-This certification gives an assurance to ur company and client that the person is competent enough to face challenges in the technology certified. So if u wrk in ABAP and certified in JAVA that will not be of much use.
3-Different exams have different passing percentages. All exams are multiple choices ( more than one aswers can be right). The exams are conducted by Pearson Vue for SAP and they have various exam centres accross the globe.
4-Best Way: If you are working in tht tech for some time then u need sam prepration ( ebooks or SAP training) for clearing it.
If it is new for u then go through the E-books very thoroughly and do some hands on to understand the concepts.
    I hope it helps.

  • Confused - jCreator or Netbeans for web developement

    Hello,
With the Visual Web Pack in Netbeans, what IDE should I be using for web development?
Is there an advantage to JCreator over Netbeans?
    Thanks
    Frank

VWP final release (or whatever they're calling it) is now available. The way I read it is this: VWP will have a niche for anyone who wants to develop the whole hog in one environment.
Creator has some ease of use features that will not be ported to VWP in the near future.
Not really mentioned is the fact that Creator can probably be faily easily aligned with the NB 5.5 code base now. (It's been stuck on the 4.1 or so branch apparently.) This may be one of the things to expect in the future if Sun chooses this route.

  • Best Practical JSP Book for PHP developer

    Hi Friends,
I am new to JSP and want learn basics of JSP so that I can do simple web page works.
I am a PHP developer with one and half years of experience.
Can anybody tell me what is the best JSP book for beginners or any web link with lots of simple jsp example?
    --Sujoy

Before you learn JSP, you need to learn Java. I heard 'Head First in Java' is a good book. Install Eclipse IDE (its free) and work through some of the book's examples in it (as you read the book from cover to cover). Then Install Tomcat (its free) and the tomcat plugin for Eclipse (its free). Then read a book on JSP (cover to cover). I like the book 'JSP in action'. It covers both JSP and servlets. Then, create a hello world JSP in Eclipse, then a hello world servlet in Eclipse.
