    Thanks Venu for your input.
    Unfortunetly we do not have Java stack on our development system. You said we can test it by SOAP UI tool. Where do I see the WSDL file for the service?
    I used WSDL from SE80 --> Service --> WSDL tab, but SOAP UI does not accept this format ?
    What are the other ways I can test this web service? I think about SAP PI, importing RFC & creating web service or creating ABAP proxies... Which is the best way to go forward in case you do not have Java stck.

  • Web Services for Oracle 8i

    Is there any means for the Oracle 8i Platform to implement a Webservice to
    access Business Logic in stored precedures?
    We were evaluating IONA's XML Collaboration Suite and their Oracle Adaptor
    but we are not satisfied with the level of control the adaptor provides.
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Best regards,
    Andreas

    Yes, you can publish stored procedures as Web services. Two approaches:
    1. Check out the new Web services sample that came out the other day, example two where SQLJ is used to wrap a Java class as a stored procedure, the connection is then wired into the generated class and finally it is published as a Java Web service using Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.2. See:
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/web_services/
    and look at the Tax Calculator viewlet/code.
    2. This is essentially the same way that the OC4J PL/SQL Web service samples work too (using SQLJ to generate a Java PL/SQL proxy), but the OC4J sample (url below), provides a more parametric way to pass the connection information to the proxy by using a parameter in the web.xml file. Check out:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/oc4j/how-to-web-services.zip
    See the readme and work with the sample in plsqlws.zip
    This one is a both better and worse from a developers perspective compared to the first Oracle9i Jdeveloper oriented example. The good part, depending on your perspective, is that it is all command line based (some people like this, some people don't) and uses the longer term approach to publishing stored procedures as Web services for Oracle9iAS with the parameters passed in via the web.xml. The bad part is the example is a little hard to follow because many of the pieces are already created for you rather than explaining how they were created. The first example at least shows pretty much all the steps but doesn't quite elegantly solve the connection problem that the OC4J sample does.
    In July/August, Oracle9i JDeveloper will be updated to publish stored procedures using the Oracle9iAS infrastructure (basically the web.xml fix) ... although once you understand it, it is fairly easy to manually do it inside of JDeveloper.
    Hope this gets you going.
    Mike.

  • Customizing Web Service for VC 7.10

    Hi guys!
    I need a big help for the topic "web services and VC".
    I read the Scott's blog (The specified item was not found.) and it's great, web services working fine!
    But if I would create custom web service (for example to insert google maps on vc model) what can I do?
    I know, it's hard to explane all the web services technology and implementation (Java, C#, XML etc.) but if someone know some tutorial or web guides..
    Thanks a lot guys!

    Hi Andrea,
    I assume that you refer to VC 7.0... otherwise the question should be moved to the VC 7.1 forum...
    The following blog contain also a video that show you the process in detail:
    How to consume Web Services with Visual Composer 7.0
    Also important SAP Notes regarding limitations, structure and pre-requisites are mentioned there.
    In the SAP Help Portal you can find information about Web Services created within NetWeaver:

  • Book: LabWindows/CVI Programming for Beginners

    Has anyone read the followong book LabWindows/CVI Programming for Beginners LabWby Shahid F. Khalid ?
    This book in not in print anymore and  inpossible to find.
    Does anyone know of any similar source material?
    I have both LabWindows/CVI Basics I&II but the content is extremely limited and not enogh details.
    Does NI offer anything better than the embedded Help?
    A Programmers Reference would be nice.
    Thanks.

    Hello NI Nubie,
    I have that book, and also its "advanced" sequel by the same author.  They both went out of print a long time ago.  The books are OK, but they are only available on the secondary market for ridiculous prices now, and that is assuming that you can even find them.
    If I could pass on some advice that might be more helpful to you in learning CVI: pretend those books do not exist for now.  Instead, I think that for learning CVI, there is nothing better than looking at other people's CVI project-level code and really understanding it, inside and out, and then making your own modifications to it to enforce what you just learned from it.  There are several places to start looking for project-level CVI code, which I will list in (what I think) are the highest-to-lowest priority of your training.
    The first place I recommend is the examples that ship with CVI (located in the "samples" directory under the CVI installation directory).  I say this because these are supported by the NI developers and support crew.  In fact, back in 1995 when I was learning CVI 3.1, I dove into the "Icon Editor" application, for several reasons: it was a *complete* application (as opposed to the other, mostly point-solution "academic" examples under the samples directory), it showed how to segment your code into multiple source and header files, and it showed many advanced user interface features (menus, cut-and-paste).  There is now an "example finder" to help locate examples that "fit" to what you are currently trying to accomplish.  I also use the freeware "grep-like" tool called "Agent Ransack" (URL is below) to hunt down specific CVI functions and identifiers (such as certain EVENTS and how these examples use them).
    Agent Ransack on MythicSoft.com
    The second place I recommend is the other "support" locations on the NI web site.  There are knowledgebase articles, tutorials, submitted examples, community examples, and also extra "academic" examples from NI engineers that aren't the same as the ones that ship with CVI.  There are also whitepapers scattered in there as well, and a few that have hidden sample code that is embedded at the bottom of the article.  You really have to hunt for this stuff, and it would be great if the NI folks could try to index this a bit better somehow.  I sometimes even resort to using Google's search engine to find them on the NI web site, because the NI search engine may not find them.
    The third place I recommend are user-based web sites created by power-users of CVI who like to share their code.  Two that I found long ago that remain at the top of the list (in my opinion).  One is Guillaume Dargaud's site, where he has lots of CVI examples and freeware.  The other is Philippe Baucour's "Rebel" CVI site (but you will need to use an online translator if you don't speak French, though).
    Guillaume Dargaud's web site (drill down for CVI examples and freeware)
    Philippe Baucour's "Rebel" CVI web site
    Finally, you might find it interesting to know that there is a tremendous repository of C source code scattered all around the Internet, mostly as part of free and open-source software projects, many of which are supported on sites such as SourceForge.net, and many other locations.  Many of these places are filled with people (in forums or mailing list servers) who live in the C programming world on a full-time basis, and can help you through some of the advanced techniques.  Some of these projects might be targeted to Windows, some use cross-platform techniques, so they have a chance of being applied to your CVI efforts.  There is also an entire universe of programming "libraries" and capabilities that you can use to augment your CVI projects as well.  All of this because of the open-source revolution, riding on the back of GNU/Linux and the community and corporate entities that are backing it all.  Examples that come to mind are Cygwin and MinGW.  If you only have the time to just look up these two items on Wikipedia, you will see that this is just the tip of the iceberg of the possibilities that are available to you as a C and CVI programmer on Windows.
    I hope this was helpful to you.

  • How to create web service for a Java class in SAP NetWeaver Studio

    hi all,
    i am using SAP Netweaver Developer Studio.have created a normal java project and i want to create web service for one of the classes in this project. i used the  Web Service Creation Wizard to create a web service for this class. but it says there's no methods available for VI. all my methods in this class are public, what should i do?

    Hi,
    I guess there are other ways. But this is an easy way, if you find the right wizards.
    Besides this it is good practise to define interface methods so that session bean implement these interface methods, and thus seperate the interface from the implementation.
    In this approach you will need 3 projects:
    An enterprise application project (will contain EJB Module)
    An EJB Module project (will contain session bean)
    A Java project (contains code that implements the session bean methods)
    In my previous post I suggested to use a J2EE web mudule project. This was a mistake, it should be EJB module.
    But it should be possible to do it in another way. It is up to you.
    Good luck, Roelof

  • Issue in creating web service for a ABAP Function Module

    Hi,
    now i'm learning how to create web service for a ABAP Function Module. I used the following steps.
    1. select the Function Module, named "zws_test".
    2. in the context menu, select "create->proxy object". so we enter into wizard.
    3. in the wizard, press the radio button "Service Provider".
    4. in the next page, press the radio button "Existing ABAP Objects(Inside Out)".
    5. In the next page, Enter the "zws_test_prvider" as Service Definition and select "Function Module" as Endpoint Type.
    6. in the next page, enter "zws_test" as Function Module and mark the "Mapping der Namen" button
    7. in the next page,select "PRF_DT_IF_SEC_LOW" as Profile and mark "Deploy Service".
    8. Save in the local package.
    9. then it will pop up a window with title "WSDL Source". i selected "URL/HTTP Destination" and press "OK".
    10.in the next page, i enter the URL as "http://hostname:portnumber/", and press "OK".
    11. then it will pop up a window with title "Display logs". A record with error message "HTTP error(return code 404, message "Not found")" appears.
    12. i press "ok" and a service provider with name "zws_test_prvider" appears in my local package.
    13. i use "zws_test_prvider"'s URL to create a service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER" and logic portal "LP1".
    14. But when i test my service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER", it will throw an exception "cx_ai_system_fault" with errortext "SOAP:14 Unexpected element -el=definitions ns=http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/".
    15. I use t-code SM59 to test connection  and get the following info.
          Status HTTP Response     200
          Status Text                      OK
          Duration Test Call             328 ms.
    who can give me the reasons about item 11 and 14, and explain me how to create service provider and service consumer for a Function Module.
    Thanks in advance

  • XI for create web servicies for SAP R/3 4.6C

    Hi All,
    we are implementing PM (Plant Management) module of SAP R/3 4.6C and we have the necessity to create web services for some PM functionalities. Infact we need to integrate our SAP R/3 4.6C with other applications (non-SAP) through TIBCO (it's mandatory). So we think to use SAP XI. Moreover our users don't want to use SAP GUI for the accessing to the PM functionalities but they want an UI more friendly. So we think to use SAP EP.
    Which is your opinion about this architectural scenario? Is it possible to fulfil the requirement of our business users with a more simple architectural solution (for example with WEB DYNPRO)?
    Many thanks in advance for your collaboration.
    Regards,
    Bob

    Infact we need to integrate our SAP R/3 4.6C with other applications (non-SAP) through TIBCO (it's mandatory). So we think to use SAP XI.
    TIBCO is another middleware. So once you expose your R/3 functionalities as web service, you may directly use TIBCO to integrate and XI won't be required at all.
    Moreover our users don't want to use SAP GUI for the accessing to the PM functionalities but they want an UI more friendly.
    WebDynpro application would provide you an easy GUI and could act as Soap client as well to send data.

  • Tutorial: Flash Builder 4 beta 2 and PHP Data/Services for beginners

    Hi fellas,
    I've written this tutorial for total beginners to get quickly to FB4 and PHP. Comments welcome
    Flash Builder 4 and PHP Data/Services for beginners
    http://www.flashrealtime.com/flash-builder-4-and-php-data-services/

    Hi,
    The first issue will be the pathing differences between wamp/mamp/xampp, some use www as root others htdoc you need to setup the php services on your local machine rather than importing a project.
    The created services will have a connection array declared at the top of the code that points to the mysql server, in the project default debug folder you will have the config file that has the zend and webserver path
    top of service file
    ============
    var $username = "root";
    var $password = "";
    var $server = "localhost";
    var $port = "3306";
    var $databasename = "zend";
    var $tablename = "clients";
    var $connection;
    amfconfig.ini
    =========
    [zend]
    ;set the absolute location path of webroot directory, example:
    ;Windows: C:\apache\www
    ;MAC/UNIX: /user/apache/www
    webroot =C:/wamp/www
    ;set the absolute location path of zend installation directory, example:
    ;Windows: C:\apache\PHPFrameworks\ZendFramework\library
    ;MAC/UNIX: /user/apache/PHPFrameworks/ZendFramework/library
    ;zend_path =
    [zendamf]
    amf.production = false
    amf.directories[]=Zender-debug/services
    In your main project folder you have a .model folder the file there is an *.fml file that contains your channel endpoints etc.

    Is it possible to create a web service for an apex database application page which has reports and radio fields and dialog boxes and validations in it. • Create a Web Service for Exchange with form based authentication ?

    I want to create a Web Service in Apex that can create appointments in my exchange calendar. Exchange is offering web services for that.
    When i try to create the web service reference in Apex i provide the URL and my Exchange login, but it is failing.
    The exchange guys told me, that there is a ISA Server running where i need to authenticate through a form.
    Does anyone know, how i can implement a webservice in Apex, when the access to the wsdl url needs login through a form ?
    Or : what other types of authentication does Apex know ? What possibilities do i have ?
    Thanks for answers.
    Bernd

    Hi
    Presume you've already found this information, but in case not ....
    Exchange 2007 provides out of the box web services, see
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb408417.aspx
    As a disclaimer - neither myself of the team I work with have tried to use these web services within APEX.

  • Creating Web service for PL/SQL Procedure with Complex Data Types

    I need to created web service for PL/SQL Procedure with Complex Data types like table of records as parameters, how do we map the pl/sql table type parameters with web service, how to go about these?

    Hello,
    When you are creating a service from a Stored Procedure, the OracleAS WS tools will create necessary Java and PL wrapper code to handle the complex types (table of record) properly and make them compatible with XML format for SOAP messages.
    So what you should do is to use JDeveloper or WSA command line, to create a service from your store procedure and you will see that most of the work will be done for you.
    You can find more information in the:
    - Developing Web Services that Expose Database Resources
    chapter of the Web Service Developer's guide.

  • How to write a web service for uploading a file

    Hi all,
    I want to write a web service for uploading a file to some specified folder under application server, how to do that? Thanks

    I believe the "difference" that you're seeing is that one web service is "RPC" style (The Hello World example) and one web service is "Document" style (The WSDL you have downloaded).
    Document-style web service methods always have one element as a parameter, and this parameter manifests itself as a SOAPElement in the service interface.
    RPC-style web services are true "remote procedure calls", and are more functional in nature, in that they accept multiple parameters. JAX-RPC will bind these parameters to generated Java types.
