Assign predecessors in calendar days, while working only business days

I would like to try to put my predecessors in terms of calendar days - as this is what I'm dictated. I would like it to count calendar days and schedule business days. i.e. Task #1 needs to happen 10 calendar days after the start of the project.
However, I would only like tasks to be scheduled on standard working days (M-F, 8-5). If Task #1 were to fall on a holiday or weekend it would be desirable to have the task be scheduled subsequently.
As you can see in the attached picture, from the award date, the first weekly teleconference is not 4 days later it's been scheduled for the following monday, which works. But for the kickoff meeting, 10 days should be the 11th, which is a Saturday.
Following the same logic the task should be scheduled for Monday the 13th.

Calculating the planned delivery time in calendar days or working days

Hi,
It seems that there is a way to calculate the planned delivery time in calendar days instead of working days.
When I use the "Planned delivery time calculation" (WPDTC), in Evaluation Options, I got the message :
"Note that follow-on applications are currently interpreting the planned delivery time as calendar days.
If they should be interpreting the planned delivery time as working days, you need to modify these applications. If the planned delivery time should be calculated in working days, there needs to be a factory calendar in Customizing with the calendar ID Country of vendor."
When MRP create a PR -with MDBT, MD03 or MD01- I want my Planned delivery time to be in working days.
I can't manage to make that "If the planned delivery time should be calculated in working days, there needs to be a factory calendar in Customizing with the calendar ID Country of vendor."
I would appreciate your help.

I understand that it makes sense that vendors calendar has to be different (compared to my plant).
But, I still don't understand why in the SAP help, they say "If the planned delivery time should be calculated in working days, there needs to be a factory calendar in Customizing with the calendar ID Country of vendor."
It seems that planned delivery time may follow a calendar.

Where to go to see Lead Time settings? Calendar days vs working days

Hi everybody,
II'm trying to find the screen where details regarding Lead Time settings are shown. I'm looking specifically for information on the type of days we're using to identify Processing LT's. I'm not certain whether we're using calendar days or working days.
I'm sure there is a simple way of finding this information out, but just don't know where to look/change the setting.

This is NOT a setting that you can view.
Oracle always behaves like this.
Best way to verify this is to create an item with PreLt=5, Processing LT=7 and Post-processing lt=5.
Then create a sales order with a due date of say 9/21. Make sure 9/1 to 9/21 is regular 5 days week.
Assuming no holidays, it will mean that you need material on the dock on 9/15 (5 days of PPLT = 7 calendar days.)
So when MRP/ASCP creates a Req/PO, the promised date will be 9/15.
Also, the Days from today will point to 9/1 - which includes 7 days of processing + 7 days of preprocessing (5 working days)

Syncing of calendar works only from icloud to iphone but not the other way round

My iphone is suddenly not syncing with icloud anymore. I sync only the Calendar (ical). From the icloud calendar to the iPhone calendar syncing is working but not the other way round. I was at a genius bar but they could not solve the problem. Apple phone support suggested nothing I haven't tried like reboot etc. Any ideas how to solve the problem?

Go to Settings>Mails, Contacts, Calendars, scroll down to Calendars section and check the Default Calendar. Must be the iCloud calendar. If you don't see this option it means that you have only the iCloud calendar in your iPhone. In that case try to turn off the Calendar from iCloud settings and turn it back on after few seconds.

Standard variable exist for calendar day that uses current working day

Is there any standard range Variable that exists for info-object calendar day that uses the manual entry for the lower limit and upper limit as current working day .

There are a number of standard variables 0n 0CALDAY - of processing type SAP exit, Input Allowed, Select-option or Range. You will have to check whether they give the default value of current date though as that will have to be looked up from documentation or user-exit code (or from the name of variable).
To shorten the candidate list, SE16 on table RSZGLOBV where

I see that you are looking for current 'working' day as default. Very likely the answer is 'no' in such case.

Your code has very little to do with what you are describing.
There is no button with "switch until released" mechanical action. (OK is switch when released, stop is latch when released)
A case structure always "works". Are you saying that it should execute e.g. the true case only once whenever the outer case goes from false to true??
Your inner case goes true more than once per run of the program (whenever the OK goes true). If it should really only work once overall, use the "first call?" primitive. You need to formulate the problem using less ambiguous words.
There is no obvious starting state for the boolean that you read via local variables. How do you ensure that it start with a known value? Does it matter?
You seem to entirely deal with integers, so why are you using floating point representation for the numerics?
What is the purpose of the orange numeric indicator. Is it just a kludge for your logic or does its value mean anything?
Why does your loop not contain any wait?
At this point, you should learn about shift registers. It would eliminate all your local variables.

Issue in assigning new Planning Calendar for MRP.

I have trouble in setting up new Planning calendar for S&OP and MRP process. Let me explain in details
Requirement is, currently I am using standard country specific Factory calendar format (monthly period) per plant. But new requirement has came up and Company wants to change beginning and end of period (monthly) -- as shown below
Current Calendar
1 July to 31 July = period 1 - 2014
1 Aug to 31 Aug = Period 2 - 2014
and so on..
New requirement is ( Last week of Friday is end of Period)
Sat 28 June to Fri 25 July = Period 1 - 2014
Sat 26 July to Fri 29 Aug = Period 2 - 2014
Sat 30 Aug to Fri 3 Oct = Period 3 - 2014
and so on..
(basic concept is to keep
4wk, 5wk, 5wk for Quarter 1
4wk, 4wk, 5wk for Quarter 2. and so on.. )
I have setup new planning calendar in MD25..
ie. min period, start of period not a working day, Calculation rule & Period etc...
then assigned new planning calendar in MM02 - MRP2 and also in MRP1 used Lot size PK... etc..
But when i Put demand in MC88.. which gives us std month format and transfer to DM, then Ran MRP but some how MRP is not creating correct Qty in planned demand as per new calender..
i.e.. 1 July to 31 July = period 1 - 2014 if total demand Qty for Material XYZ is : 50
I am expecting planned demand result in MRP as... Sat 28 June to Fri 25 July = Period 1 - 2014 - should be 50 in total.. but It's not..
Any reason? Or I am missing some settings?

Business wants planning calendar in this format. And Fiscal Year Variant has also been set according to new calendar.
KK, Regarding MC88 there is no option to incorporate planning calendar into S&OP process. And Organisation's S&OP process is set from day one (Planning by ProdGrp/Material) so MD61 would not be a good option to use.
Umesh, regarding "start of period not a working day", I have selected "do not displace". And 27/09 and 27/12 dates are set holiday. The major issue here is: Not every 4th Sat of month is Period start day, MRP is picking new planning calendar (defined in above table) from the system But some how when transferring forecast data from planning table to demand management (MC88), system don't recognize new planning calendar and it distributes demand over weekly bucket per regular month Calendar instead of new planning calendar..
Some how I need to incorporate new planning calendar into S&OP setup somewhere, Any thoughts?

Calendar Day format (Xcelsius dash with LO prompts connected to SAP-BW)

Hi guys.
I built a dashboard using Xcelsius 2008 with a few LiveOffice prompts. Some are optional and these don't cause any issues, the only one causing problems is one of the two compulsory ones (the other is related to Calendar Month).
The BW query connected to the universe on which the WebI query have been built has two variable selections: the first on Calendar Month, the second on Calendar Day. I haven't been able to find a way to pass Calendar Day data to the query.
When I launch it from WebIntelligence, I select the value from a "calendar". This is the way it is displayed: "dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss AM". When I select a value from this calendar and I launch the query, results are displayed in the proper way.
I added the query to an Excel file that I've subsequently imported into Xcelsius. As I said before every other prompt works perfectly, the only one not working is the Calendar Day prompt. I tried passing this date in several ways, but I receive the message "Invalid format (LO 26000)".
These ways include:
- dd/mm/yyyy [0CALDAY].[AAAAMMDD]
- dd.mm.yyyy
- dd/mm/yyyy
- yyyymmdd
- ddmmyyyy
Did anyone have ideas on how to pass these data in a proper way to the LO prompt from Xcelsius?

Hi Kevin, we decided to scrap the "Calendar Day" use because we didn't find a solution to pass the data from Xcelsius to BW.
There's still an issue. This seemed to work before but now it's not working anymore. We also have a Calendar Month variable. When Live Office creates a prompt on the Excel document, the variable is displayed like this (for instance, NOV 2009 [0CALMONTH].[200911]).
To avoid problems with keys, I've also created a separate query containing a Month list of values and the string to be passed to BW is created putting together the informal name (NOV 2009) and the unique name ( [CALMONTH].[200911]). When I insert this time prompt in the Xcelsius document, I receive the LO26315 message. If I remove it (I've got other six prompts, none of them related to a date), everything works fine.
Anyone ever had to pass a similar value from Xcelsius to BW?

Calendar day number?

Hello gurus, I am trying to to create a report in which I display the number of people that checked in and out of a hotel. I need this report to be shown daily. The problem is that I need a comparison between each day and last year's same day. I currently have (ignore the '/'):

Right now the report is not working correclty. On KF 2007 I have created a selection which includes the amount of check ins, displayed by "current calendar year" (SAP exit variable) with a -1 offset. The same goes for KF 2008 but without the offset. The problem is that 0CALDAY takes values from 2007 and 2008, so the report gets partially populated on 2007 days (because KF 2008 is all blank) and partially populated on 2008 days (because KF 2007 is all blank).
I thought about having a Calendar Day characteristic in which month and year fields were removed (so it would only show 01-31 for each month) and was looking on the business content to see if there is already a characteristic that would meet this requirement. However, I could not find one. Does such a characteristic exist, or how can I create one? Or if this is too complicated, how can I get around this problem?

My requirement has changed slightly. Now what is needed is a characteristic which gives me exactly the day of the month, and a characteristic that gives me the month in text. 0CALMONTH2 gives me the month in numbers (1-12) but I need their names (January-December), and what I have seen is that this characteristic does not allow me to display them as text. And for the day characteristic, I cannot find one which gives me the day of the month (1-28, 1-29, 1-30 or 1-31 dependeing on the month).
Any ideas?

Calendar Day Link to Another Page

I have a Page which has Date as LOV with Submit With Select (This is Page 10)
e.g. User selects a date, report is displayed based on date selected. This is done using Select list with Submit. Date is populated using LOV based on query. The default value of date is Maximum of date in on of my date column.
The above think works great. No problem so far.
I want to create calendar view which is another page (This is Page 20) .
Calendar is created using Calendar wizard. In Calendar, I want to link Day to above Page. I can create day link which links back to Page 10 and also report data is displayed based on date selected in Calendar.
Now, the problem: The problem is value of Date field on above page (Page 10) is always set to default value. Although, I have said that default value should only set when session state is NULL.
So my question is why Date (Display value) is not set to value passed from Calendar Page. I have checked Session info and correct value of date is present.
What should I do to correct this problem ?
The other question is :
How to disable calendar day link when there is no data to be displayed ? At present, as soon as I create a Day link, all the Days in Calendar are linked, what I want is, to hightlight/clickable which has only some data.
How should I do this ?

Instead of using the Day Link feature, you can create a link in the SQL query for the calendar region. This will accomplish both of your goals: It will pass the value to your other page, and it will only appear for days where there is a value.
If you look at the Orders page of the sample application, you'll see that the SQL for the calendar is :

The query returns two columns: The value to display, and a date. In this case, the value to display is a link to another page. The link passes a value for the P29_ORDER_ID value.

Black screen while working

last few days my mac got a black screen while working once ort twice a day. no idea why. it's only the screen and there is no way to wake him up. but the cpu didn't shut down and it sounds like he is working correctly. any idea? would make me happy!

Interval variable for Calendar Day

Hi Experts,
Please help!
We are working with CE VC 7.2, our model has an input form to a variable on calendar day (data source: BI Query). We would like to input a date range using a from and to date picker.
How do we populate the values from the date from and date to - there used to be a value help option on BI variables in 7.0 - however, we don't see this option anymore on 7.2. Is there another way to do this.

I am working on CE 7.1 version and in this if you take the "Date From" and "Date To" variables are as of type "DATE" while defining the data, it will show up as date fileds attached to input box.
you can directly enter date and/or you can select the date by clicking on date picker.
I am sorry if it is not like this in 7.2, I can not test also
