Best home/office cell phone signal booster

Can anyone recommend a cell phone signal booster for the 4/4S?

Sure.  If it's for a car, that's easy. If it's for a home or office, answer the following:
What carrier or carriers do you need to support?
Over how large of an area do you need to boost the signal?  One floor or multiple stories?
How strong is the signal strength outside of your home/office (Ideally on the roof where you'd need to mount the outside antenna)?
With that information, it's possible to figure out what signal booster would be best for you.

  • I am trying to find a portable cell phone signal booster

I am away from electricity and there are too many spots where I need a signal boost in order to do my work.
Does anyone have any recommendations for anything that I can use to boost my iphone signal so I can use Siri easier to dictate but runs on battery power and not an electrical outlet or car charger?
    Thank you.

    @macnpchz
There no portable cell boosters available, but you can ask your cellphone provider about mini towers for your home.  If you have AT&T, they use MicroCell.  I currently use this at my home and I love it.

  • WeBoost cell phone signal boosters could help your reception

Maybe it’s Murphy’s Law, but dropped calls usually happen at the most inopportune times. An important or engaging conversation cut short by a sudden drop in reception can be annoying—even more so if it happens with any sort of regularity. Cell phone signal boosters are designed to amplify sending and receiving those signals, and weBoost has products that cover both your car and home.

Thanks - was unsure who to contact but will do so

  • Cell phone signal looking icon in Safari?

When Safari loads a new page, I see an icon in the upper left of the page briefly that looks like a cell phone signal meter. What is this? I'm using Safari on a self built Windows 7 machine and was wondering if I had some sort of malware or adware. I do not get this icon using Safari on my MAC.

Are you aware that Apple is dropping support for Safari for Windows >  Apple apparently kills Windows PC support in Safari 6.0
Better off using IE or Chrome.

  • Does the new ipad 4g gps works without cell phone signal

does the new ipad 4g gps works without cell phone signal?

GPS has no need of a cell phone signal or wifi. The only reason you would need a data signal is to download maps to enable the GPS to show you where you are. If you installed an app which includes the mapping, for instance TomTom, you have no need for data reception.

  • Recommendations for cell phone signal boosters

I have not yet made the jump to an iPhone but would greatly appreciate feedback on what cell phone boosters actually work (having lived for years with about 5% Verizon signal reliability at my home, very good signal most other places -- of course the Verizon maps claim I have a "very good" signal at home). I thought I read a column in the NYTimes which reviewed several booster devices (some reasonably priced; others $200 to $349) but searching their archive, and basic Google searches are just coming up with sales propaganda, no honest evaluations.
What kind of base station/antenna device works well with the ATT network/ iPhone Edge technology (&/or basic Verizon cell service).
    Thanks so much,
    Lemur

  • Poor cell phone signal

Is there a cell phone booster for an area with a poor signal.  An external dish, antenna?

Thanks Lawrence.  We use CommonTime mSuite to integrate our Lotus Notes with iPhone's Calendar, Contacts and email using the Exchange iPhone connector, and I am one of the administrators for mSuite.  I have deleted and re-added the Exchange account on my 5s running IOS 8 multiple times, and have done the same on an iPad Gen 3 and an iPad Mini.  All with the same results.  (The results are that email comes down, but calendar and contacts do not, and email will reload every so often.)  I've deleted the account on the mNotes server a couple of times as well, to no avail.  I have an old iPhone 4 still running IOS 7.1.2, and setting the exchange account up on it, immediately everything came down successfully from Lotus Notes onto the old iPhone.  This is definitely an IOS 8/CommonTime issue, and CommonTime has acknowledged that there is a problem, though they have as yet no fix.  The one good thing to come of this is I now know what was killing my battery. After 7 hours of use last night (regular use on Facebook and Feedly) my battery had only gone down to 83%. Other of our 46 users who have upgraded to IOS 8 have the same problem as I.

  • Best Mac compatible cell phone/PDA?

I'm in the market for a new cell phone/PDA and I need some help. I'm currently considering the Treo 700P because of it's smooth, trouble-free integration with the Mac OS using The Missing Sync (http://www.markspace.com/).
It seems like the Treo 700P will do everything I need it to except for allowing me to check and send emails while on the road. Although this is possible with EVDO, I think my carrier, Verizon Wireless, charges about $25 per month for this service, which makes it way too expensive for the small amount of time I'll be using that feature.
Another solution is a device with WiFi capabilities, which will allow me to check and send emails at various hot spots, like hotels. I know that you can add WiFi capability to the 700W, but I've heard that the Windows OS doesn't play very nicely with Macs.
To recap, here's what I need in a cell phone/PDA solution.
    1. Dependable
    2. Mac compatible
    3. Able to integrate with Mail and Address Book
    4. Will allow me to check and send emails cost effectively
Given these parameters, what do you recommend?
    Thanks,
    Kelly

I have a Treo 700p and I love it. I have had it since early September. I sync it with three Macs and it integrates nicely with iCal, Address book, etc. I use Missing Sync to sync. You can get Missing Sync at http://www.markspace.com
I can't claim the 700p is the best smart phone for use with the Mac because its the only one I have tried, but it works well for me.

  • Cell Phone Signal Noise

    Hi there,
I have recorded an interview but a problem I have is that there is feedback coming through from a cell phone. The noise is that of a beeping like when a cell phone is connecting to a base station. I want to remove this from the interview. Any one have any idea of how to do this? I have analyzed the audio in STP and fixed the clicks and pops, DC offset etc but this did not help.

The frequency selection tool works just like a text selector in a word processor. You select an area, then press delete to remove the selected frequency.
Page 218 of the Soundtrack Pro 2 manual describes how this feature works.

  • Cell phone signal extender (booster)

We obviously live on the outer edge of the towers and have barely a decent signal outside our house but once you are in the house you are toast.  I stand on my back porch in my underwear and talk on my phone as much or more than I do outside fully dressed.  Im looking a dependable extender or booster so that we can have a decent converstation while sitting in our home and not have to step outside to have a conversation.      What equip. is available to me to accomplish my goal in getting signal strength inside my house (wireless) for our Verizon Samsung Fascinates.
    Thanks

We offer a network extender which serves as your own personal cell tower. Here is the link to it http://tinyurl.com/bjs3ed This should help resolve your signal problems.

  • Cell phone signal boosters

No idea about legality but I've tried and failed to get a Vodafone Sure Signal running in our office, it just will not connect to the Internet!

I have been tasked with finding information about signal boosters for the production floor where I work. I have read quite a bit on FCC rules and having to register the device. I was curious if anyone had any experience on the legality of using a consumer product in a business environment. I also was wondering what kind of range the consumer products have as I need to cover about 20,000 square feet. It is very open area.I have contacted two different companies and one said a consumer product would never cover that area and recommended the commercial one that would probably cost about $.40 a square foot. The second company said that they could install a consumer product that would work just fine in our location.I have searched on this topic and most of the posts are over a year old and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with...

  • Signal Booster Discussion

In my home the signal switches from 3G to 4G LTE as I walk around with my iPhone 5a. Has anyone used a signal booster with good success? I am considering one to gain 4G LTE all of the time. I am located in a rural area so I am also thinking about the potential that it will become my home internet service too. Please let me know of personal experiences with signal boosters and bandwidth issues for Internet browsing.
    Thanks,

Take a look at this - this is an booster or repeater rather than an extender. It would work in the situation where you have a decent signal outside in a location, but not consistent indoors.

  • Car Signal Booster

I work on a construction sites all around Indiana. Well most of these sites do not have very good signal... Or you walk to one spot and it goes up to 2 or 1 bar then the next is no signal...
Everyday for lunch we sit in truck and txt/surf internet/make calls. Well is there any product out there that is worth a darn to boost the signal for the iphone.. even on edge or anything? Maybe some antenna we can mount on the truck and it will boost signal for at least the cab or a direct plug into phone?
Most of these calls are important business calls so cost is not a huge factor... but less $ is always better ha

There is a direct plug in booster with an external antenna now.
I've been happy with the Zboost, too, but I got a 20% discount before I would buy it. They are still expensive and too easy to steal from your car.
zBoost is sold at http://www.wi-ex.com/ uses external antenna, a clunky box, and cigarette lighter plug. This is the first generation solution, modeled after indoor house units.
    or
Dual Band Booster Solution Kit for iPhone with 24inches magnetic mount antenna. That tall antenna may be a problem for some cars. $249.99
    or
    http://www.powerfulsignal.com
    Wilson 805201 iBooster http://www.powerfulsignal.com $243 and uses a cradle.
But, whatever you buy and use, PLEASE report your results. I can't find any kind of comparison testing (like Consumer Reports).
Unlike analog radios, the boosters don't make anything louder. Instead, you should see a strong signal all the time (3 or 4 bars), longer battery life (because you phone doesn't have to transmit very far) and fewer dropped calls.
With all the new 3G phones, the cell systems are quickly getting overloaded. They were not prepared for such high demand and most aren't investing in new cell towers. Instead, they are trying to buy out the upstarts and merge, resulting in FEWER towers in operation.
Also, AT&T was getting ready to sell a Cisco cell phone repeater (booster), but stopped for some reason. The web pages got out by mistake and they would not comment further.

  • Signal booster for cell service

Seeing if anyone has any suggestions on this one.  We have iphones.  We WERE on ATT, which has horrible service where we are.  So we purcahsed a Micro Cell tower when we had ATT numbers.  But then we decided to go to another service, except this service still USES the ATT towers. The Micro Cell ONLY works with ATT phone numbers.
So now that we have different numbers, the Micro Cell is no longer any good.
Does anyone have any suggestions what brand SIGNAL BOOSTER we could get that would be good for ANY SERVICE, not just ATT??
    Thanks

Thank you so much for trying that out claymeijer,
This is definitely an odd one! Let's deep dive in to this and make sure we cover all bases. Please ensure that you've added your numbers to the contact list via My Verizon. Here are the steps: http://vz.to/196jt5g
Also, please ensure your router has  current firmware. This can be checked by visiting your routers website.
If issues persist, we would want to connect you to our Network Extender department.
    Thanks!
