Best Practices Installation Problem

Hi I am trying to install the sap best practices package V1-4.6000 (LATAM)
I run the transaction code /n/smb/bbi, later I import the layer 0
building blocks and try to activate the building blogs.
When I try to activate the B32 (MX) Building block, an error occurs, the message is the following.
"Activation finished with errors"
When i check the Pre-requisites the component
/SMB99/CHECK_O010_B32 (check operating concern) is not activated.
Could you help me with this issue?

Hi Adarsh
In the Best Practices CD, there are a Folder named DOCU in this folder exists an Add-on Installation Guide.
Overview of the installation
1) You need to install the Best Practices Installation Assistant, this add-on is in 600\BPINSTAS\DATA folder
2) You need to install the Best Practices Add-On, this add-on is in 600\ERP\DATA
3) Follow the installation guide based in your country, for example for me, I followed the word file name BL_Quick_Guide_EN_MX.doc, this file is in the folder 50085672\BL_Mexico\documentation

  • Best Practices Installation Assistant on ECC6

I have installed the SAP ERP 2005 and want to install the Best Practice Baseline (DE). I am having a lot of errors using the BP Installation Assistant for installing the Baseline. Has any one had a successful experience using the BPIA & Personalisation Assistant on the ECC6?

Hi Christian, there's a Quick installation guide for each BP Baseline that indicates the SP Level, and other Add-ons and plug-ins that you need to install the Best Practices.

  • ECC 6.0 Best Practices installation

    Dear Experts,
I have some questions to ask you regarding the project I am working on.
Our team is involved in the implementation of an SAP ERP (ECC) solution for our customer. In order to speed up all the process the team has decided to use the SAP Best Practices technology.
The project was very successful and our customer has asked us to deploy the solution to other subsidiaries.
The system has been configured as follow for the french country:
    1. SAP ERP 6.0
    2. SAP Best Practices for french with the required package level in order to install the bp
    3. Enhancement Package 2
    Questions:
    1. How can we implement the same bp scenario on the other subsidiaries if the system is not at the same support package as the previous project?
    2. The new bp for Germany and USA are now available only with support package 3?
Thanks in advanced for your help.
    Alberto

    Dear ALL,
Please note below the answer from SAP.
    Regards,
    Alberto
    Regarding your questions:
    1. The official answer from SAP is that we can only guarantee a successful installation for a specific SAP Best Practices package for the specific support package level as mentioned in the quick guide. The recommended path in the customer project is to install the SAP ERP release with the required support package level, install and activate the SAP Best Practices scenarios and then apply any higher support package or Enhancement package.
    2. Yes, the new SAP Best Practices baseline packages V1.603 for US, Germany and also now for France are based on SAP ERP EhP3. The reason for this is that in the EhP3 the functionality for running the SAP NetWeaver Business Client including the preconfigured roles and power lists are now part of the standard SAP ERP and delivered within the EhP3

    Sandbox - (1 client) - Configuration Sandbox
Development - (2 clients) - Config. Master and Development
Quality - (4 Clients) - Quality Assurance, Integration Testing, Training and Pre-Production
    Production - (1 Client) - Production Client
Can you please assist with the below queries:
    1. Do I need to Install/Activate Best Practices software / building blocks for each client of every system?
    2. Can I Install and activate best practices for 1 client of Sandbox system and then perform the client copies to development to quality to production? Will this work?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    > 1. Do I need to Install/Activate Best Practices software / building blocks for each client of every system?
No, you need to need to activate in all clients. Just activate this in one client and create another clietns with copy from this client.
    > 2. Can I Install and activate best practices for 1 client of Sandbox system and then perform the client copies to development to >quality to production? Will this work?
    >
Don't copy development client in production client. You should activate it manually in production system. I will recommend same to you for quality system as well.
    Thanks

  • Problem with Best Practices Installation Assistant

    Hello!
I'm trying to installing the baseline (ecc6)  located to portugal, but i'm having lot's of problems with this. when i activate the projects, the system after some minutes stops in the ecatt /SMBA0/SKB1_O12T_J01 and generates the following runtime errors: SYSTEM_NO_ROLL and TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED.
Does anybody knows how to solve this problems?
    Thanks,
    Ana

The dump TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED occurs, if the workprocess reaches its system imposed maximum memory allocation which can be caused by a program error or by the amount of data becoming too big.
What exactly are your trying to do when THIS dump occurs?

  • Best Practices question re Windows XP & Parallels 4.0 installation

    To Apple Gurus here:
I am a new convert from Windows to Mac. Just bought a Macbook Pro (4G/320G, 2.4Gz) and a copy of Parallels 4.0. I have an OEM copy of Windows XP Pro & Photoshop CS4 for Windows. The question before me is what sequence should I go about installing Windows & Parallels. Logically, I think I should install:
    1) Windows XP using Boot Camp first,
    2) then install PhotoShop CS3 for Windows in the Windows partition
    3) then install MS Office
    4) and finally install Parallels 4.0.
Is this the right sequence or indeed a "Best Practices" scenario?
Any tips for a 'Best Practice' installation will be highly appreciated.
Also, is anyone here using the SAP GUI for Mac OS-X & Citrix Presentation Server Client for Mac OS 10.0 (now renamed XenApp)?

First, my creds. I don't consider myself an Apple guru. I have been running a MB since last December and at that time, I installed Parallels 3.0. If I remember correctly, after installing Parallels, I installed Windows Vista, and then Office and while I was impressed to be able to run MS Office on a MB, it took what I considered to be TOO long to load and then the performance was not that great. So, mostly I've stayed on the Mac side of the operation and only loaded Parallels if I had to run some MS program.
About a week ago I got an offer from Parallels to buy 4.0 at an upgrade price of $40. I went with the box version since it was the same price as the download version. Tonight I got my courage up to do the upgrade. I was leery because I thought I might have to reinstall all my MS stuff (Office Pro, etc.) When I put the disk in to install the program, I receive a message saying there was a later edition available with the option to download it or install the box edition. After a few minutes of thought, I decided to do the download version. I would still recommend getting the box version since you get a manual with it although the download version comes with a PDF manual.
When I finished, I then clicked on upgrade/install and the installation proceeded without much input from me. Lo and behold, the installation finished and it booted up to my previous Vista installation with all my programs intact.
So far, I must stay I'm VERY impressed with this upgrade Parallels edition. It seems to load much faster, the programs are more responsive, Vista so far seems very stable and the ability to switch back and forth from Windows to OS X is totally better. From what I've seen so far, I would highly recommend anyone using Parallels 3.0 get this upgrade. While I've only been using it a few hours, it seems like the best upgrade for ANY program/system (Windows 95-->Vista) that I've ever done.
A few months ago I saw a piece on an upgraded version of Fusion which stated that it moved Fusion ahead of Parallels. If that were so, I think the ball must be back in Parallels court with 4.0.
