Best practices/tips for users who are connected to A LOT of mailboxes?

I have a user or two who seem to be connected to _everyone's_ mailbox.  This person is in recruiting, so access to other people's calendars is necessary
for scheduling.
Problem is, she faces multiple Outlook slow downs and lock ups on a daily basis.  She recently showed me a problem where calendars that she typically has
access to now prompt her to "ask them to share their calendar" messages (reboots will fix this problem, for the most part).
Taken her on and off cached Exchange mode.  We have disabled the "Download shared folders" setting, and that helped some, but issues still persist.
 She is typically the only one with constant problems (her and one other person that is in a similar situation).
More info: we allow Reviewer permissions for everyone's Calendar for the "Default" entry.  So, she does not have full access to any one's mailbox.
 She's just viewing everyone as a shared calendar.
Hoping there's someone out there with similar issues that have successfully tackled this problem!

She can use the scheduling assistant to check availability, there is no need to have other people calendars added. Remove all those calendars, compact the data file, and educate her on how to properly use Outlook. Here's a reference article:

  • How to skip approving steps for users who are also approvers?

    We have a business need to be able to skip the approving steps for the users who are also approvers.
    For this following steps were followed :-
    1) Open .task file and go into the Assignment tab. Double click on the performer box within the routing slip, this should open the "Edit Participant Type" editor. Expand the "Advanced" section and place a check next to "specify skip rule", then click the edit icon to the right. Now enter an XPath expression that will test whether the current user is equal to the task creator.
    2) We used - isUserInRole XPath function in the "Identify Service Functions" dropdown - first param to function is the userID, the 2nd is the role name.
    We tried with hardcoded userID as well as by using
    ids:isUserInRole(/task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:updatedBy/task:id,'California')
    where 'California' is the group name (as one of the forum threads told this function works with groups).
    We also tried with swimlane roles(using bpm.getPerformer() function) but it does not work either.
    Please let me know if any one has any solution to this problem.

  • A Few Quick Tips For Those Who Are New To Fios Quantum and the New Quantum Update

    Most of those who have quantum received the new update early this morning (8/12/14)
    There are a lot of people that are new to fios who never had anything prior to quantum so I thought I'd make this post to help.
    Those who had the older boxes prior to quantum should already know about all of this.
    The new update now reflects what the older stb/dr's have and have had for awhile now. There are now more menu settings you will want to go through.
    The ad banner guide at the bottom can be disabled. Go to menu > Notifications > Guide Banner > set to disable
    The banner will still be there, but will show Verizon rather then ads.
    The home screen can be turned off. There is an option to turn it off within the home screen or you can go to menu > Notifications > Promotions > set to disable
    The led on the boxes have been changed. If you want to change it go to menu > System > Media Server Settings > LED Brightness.
    The Auto Power Off option is set to 4 hours by default. If you don't want the box to turn off automatically you will want to disable this. Menu > System > Media Server Settings > Auto Power Off > set to none
    There is now the option to change the guides banners times outs. Menu > Settings > System > Television > Info Bar Time Out (also Channel Bar Timeout)
    Some on other forums mentioned the video formats have been changed so its a good idea to check the option out to see if it reflects what you want. Menu > Settings > Audio & Video > Video Settings > Video Format
    The aspect # button now works so any SD channels that are boxed can now be stretched using the # button. 
    I'm happy to see this option back.

    Thanks for the info regarding the latest update. I like some of the new/improved options, however I am highly disappointed that the update discontinued the reminder option. I would think that setting a program reminder is a highly used feature and many will be unhappy now that it is gone. I know I surely am!

    basically what the subject says, is there any way to view the list?

    There are a couple of possibilities:
    1) You can use a UNIX command. See this thread on Mac OS X Hints;
    2) You can try ITunes Monitor. It's pretty old, but people have reported success using it with more recent versions of iTunes. It's free, so it doesn't cost anything to give it a try.

    One of my customer wants to disable outlook anywhere for some of the users who are working from home.They have exchange server 2013 in their premises and also have outlook 2010/2013 on their clients machine.Please advice?

    In Exchange 2013, all Outlook connectivity (Internal and External) are using Outlook Anywhere anyways. It is not recommended to use the following command to disable Outlook Anywhere for a specific user:
    Set-CASMailbox UserA -MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHttp $True
    If you disable it, the UserA would not be able to access the mailbox from both Internal Outlook client (Office) and external Outlook client (Home).
    For your requirement about disable Outlook anywhere for some few users instead of all external users, there seems to be no method to achieve it directly in Exchange server. Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Apart from what DB has suggested. you should give a good reading on the following.
    -Consulting Notes (use the application component filters in search notes)
    -Collective Notes (similar to the one above)
    -Release Notes
    -Release Restrictions
    -If $$ permit subscribe to www.scmexpertonline.com. Good perspective on concepts around SAP SCM.
    -There are a couple of blogs (e.g. www.apolemia.com) .. but all lack breadth.. some topics in depth.
    -"Articles" section on this site (not all are classified well.. see in ECCops, mfg, SCM, Logistics etc)
    -Serivce.sap.com- check the solution details overview in knowledge exchange tab. There are product presentations and collaterals for every release. Good breadth but no depth.
    -Building Blocks - available for all application areas. This is limited to vanilla configuration of just making a process work and nothing more than that.
    -Get the book "Sales and Operations Planning with SAP APO" by SAP Press. Its got plenty of  easy to follow stuff, good perspective and lots of screen shots to make life easier.
    -help.sap.com the last thing that most refer after all "handy" options (incl. this forum) are exhausted. Nevertheless, this is the superset of all "secondary" documents. But the maze of hyperlinks that start at APO might lead you to something like xml schema.
    Key Tip: Appreciate that SAP SCM is largely driven by connected execution systems (SAP ECC/ERP). So the best place to start with should be a good overview of ERP OPS solution overview, at least at the significant level of depth.). Check this document at sdn wiki "ERP ops architecture overview".
    I have some good collection of documents though many i havent read myself. If you need them let me know.

    There are no specific set of steps / practices for batch loading contents to ucm . It would be very much dependent on how many contents does the user have to load to UCM and how well the server is configured in terms of performance .

  • Best Practice Analyzer for Exchange 2013

    Greetings,
    I have upgraded the messaging infrastructure from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
    I want to test the Health of the system through ExBPA for Exchange 2013.
    But i don't find any setup for Exchange 2013 like it was in 2010.
    I went through an article by Office365 community, according to which for In-premises Exchange also we need to have office 365 account (can use trial account also) to get the downloader file for ExBPA 2013.

    But to run the setup the servers needs to be connected to internet.
    And, i don't want to expose my environment to internet in any condition.

Basically, if they have a copy of the .swf they can use it as much as they'd like. To protect access to sensitive data I'd like to be able to control who can access the dashboard and how many times or how long they can access it for.
         From what I've read it seems the simplest way to do this is to embed the swf file into a web portal that requires a user to authenticate before accessing the file. I suppose I can then handle how long they can access it from the back end.
         If I do this, is there anyway a user can do something like <right click - save as> on the flash file to save it on their local machine? Is there a best practice means for properly protecting the dashboard?
    Any advice would be appreciated,

  • Steps to deploy Lync for users who own Office 365 E1/E2 licenses, but don't have Office 365 E3, using Office Deployment tool.

    After many hours of debugging with Microsoft support the system to install the Lync Client silently can be done with a SINGLE LINE command.  The steps to take are below. It should be an easy next step to put this as GPO installation since
    it is a simple command.
    Comments appreciated. 
    side question: Why is there no Lync 2013 or Lync Office 365 forum?
    Basic steps to deploy Lync for users who own Office 365 E2 licenses, but don’t have Office 365 E3, using Office Deployment tool.
    This also applies for other Office 365 service types where the full office suite download is not included.  In April 2015 This was impossible to find online and not know by the Lync support team.
    Steps are:
    Download the Office deployment tool from
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=36778 and extract it to a folder. For this
    example we will use the \\server\sharename
    location.
    Extracting it creates a setup.exe file and it show a sample XML file.
    2. Create XML file and give it a name such as LyncEntryRetail.xml
    Note: The key is the productID that has to be the “LyncEntryRetail”. Other product IDs will download a version that needs another office 365 license. The productID “LyncRetail” needs an E3 license of Office 365.
    <Configuration>
      <Add SourcePath="\\server\sharename" OfficeClientEdition="32" >
        <Product ID="LyncEntryRetail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
      </Add> 
    </Configuration>
    3. From the folder where you extracted the Office deployment tool, run the following command on the command prompt to download the source files and store them on the shared drive:

    One can also run the same on a server share by using UNC path names such as  (on single line)
    \\servername\sharename\Setup.exe /download

    4. Run the following command on the command prompt on a machine where you want to install the software: (on single line)
    \\servername\sharename\Setup.exe /configure
    \\servername\sharename\LyncEntryRetail.xml  
    (This is the name of the XML file created above)
    Once you are comfortable that it all works, you may want to edit the XML file if you want to have silent installation and add the following lines.
