Best way to make all the items read-only in many pages for a resposibility?

Hi,
We have the following requirement:
We need to make all the fields read-only in 5 standard self-service pages for a particular responsibility. One way is to personalize these pages at responsibility level. Is there any other quick/better way to do it?
Highly appreciate your suggestions on this.

Personalisation is easiest and fastest way of doing this. The same requirement can be acheieved by extensions of CO by setting the bean properties rr by SPEL binding by extending VO.
But when I can get something done without coding at all that approach is best, I am sure u agree :)!

Is there any way by which we can make all the inputComponents belong to a specific iterator as read-only..?
Depending on some condition I want to make all the editable components which belong to a particular iterator, in page to read-only. I can put an expression in the read-only property of all the inputFields
and make them read-only depending on a condition. But this is going to be difficult as we have a lot of pagefragments and Task-flows.
So I think I can do it programmatically. I can add this method as an method binding in the container jsff. So that it will do the job for all the pages [pages may be inside a region also ].
Can any one give a similar code segment to do this..?
Is this approach going to impact performance badly..?

Best way to rebuild all the indexes in a schema

DB : 9.2.0.7 (TEST Instance)
OS : HP-UX Itanium 11.23
we have TEST schema which contains 1960 Tables and 1800 Indexes.
we have requirement to rebuild all those indexes.
what is the best way to do this task?
Note: This TEST schema was created and imported with PROD schema of Production ( Schema wise import)

Sybrand has a very valid point, rebuild for what purpose? If it is performance you are likely wasting most of your effort thought there are cases where an index rebuild will help performance of specific queries though sometimes what you gain on a select may be paid for on an insert due to the rebuild resulting in splitting being required to support the insert.
If the hope is for performance before rebuilding the indexes update the statistics.
If you must rebuild the easiest way to to generate alter index owner.index_name rebuild commands via SQL and spool these to a file perhaps on a per tablespace basis. The you check the amount of space available in the tablespace to see if if will support rebuilding in place. If yes, great, just add a few commands to the script to echo the commands, show the timing, spool the results, etc.... If not, then you need to generate drop and re-create DDL for those indexes that cannot be rebuilt in an attempt to create the space necessary for the remaining indexes to use rebuilds.

Make all text fields read only after signing form

Hello,
I have a live cycle form which needs to have all of the text fields set as read only after signing.
The java script has been placed in the post sign event of a digital signature field.

You don't need any JavaScript to do this.
In Designer you can setup the signature field in that way, that all fields will be locked after signing.

Is there a way to access all the items in the tools section without seeing all the options? That is to say can one use keyboard for functions? My tools menu doesn't scroll down, only goes from left to right for one page and no more options.

I can't seem to view web pages. I noticed when I clicked on the tools menu I don't get the usual drop down menu of choices. I get a horizontal listing of options with a white background. I suspect the issue may be somewhere in some settings of my tool bar or the way the system displays web pages.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. 
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions. 
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

All folders changed Read Only

Okay, so recently, just about all my folders (including every subfolder in iTunes and the such) have become read only. So whenever i try to change something, i need to set that folder back to read and write for Me. This is very annoying, and I don't know what happened to make all the folders read only.
Is there some way to change all the permissions on my disk back to Read and Write for Me (the administrator) without going through every single folder?

first, whatever you do, don't try to make everything on your hard drive read+write for yourself. this will invariably brick the system and you'll have to reinstall. there is no other outcome possible.
where exactly are the problem files located? only in your itunes folder? somewhere else in your home directory? what exactly does the permissions panel for such files say?

What makes you think that Firefox is saving them to disk?
You can look at the portable Firefox version if you want to minimize writes to the disk that stores your Firefox profile.

We use the following services for our business
Windows InTune
Office 365
SQL Azure
Dynamic CRM Online
I would like to (hopefully) combine all administration functions and portals of these sites. Although I am running dated Server OS's (mostly server 2003 R2) I am hoping to upgrade to 2012 this calendar year. That is why I have not looked into
all the AD sync services at this time.
Hopefully someone has gone through this - and can advise the best way to merge all the information together.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to set the list item read only based on the status column.
If you want to do it using Event Receiver, you need to check the status column value using Server Object Model, then break role Inheritance and rest role assignments to set the item read only.

Make a volume mount read-only

Rather than dig for my Mac OS X Server DVD, I find it easier to clone the disc onto a small partition on a hard drive.
However, the volume always mounts read-write, and I always get warnings about low disk space because of it. (I made the partition as small as possible.) Plus, I don't want to have anything mess with my Mac OS X Server "DVD".
I noticed that Mac OS X doesn't use fstab for mounting volumes… is there a way to make a disc mount read-only all of the time? (chmod -R a-w * doesn't cut it for me.)

I don't mean having it mount read-only when booting from it. I mean, while the server is running normally (not booted from the "disc").
For peace of mind, I'd like to have my "disc" always be read-only, just to make sure that it isn't modified unless I explicitly allow it.
On Linux, I could add "ro" to the mount options. Since Mac OS X doesn't use fstab, is there some plist that determines how volumes are mounted? I'd rather not edit the /etc/rc.* files unless absolutely necessary.

Is there any way to make a specific cell read only with in a specific data form?
Similarly is there any way to make whole column read only inside a specific data form?
I don't want to make changes in my dimension member (e.g Dynamic Calc), i want to make these changes at data form level because, these cell/column are read only at one form but on some other data form they are editable/enterable

If you want to make a column read only then have a look at asymettric columns in the planning admin doc, if you use them then you can make one of the columns read only.
If you want a make one cell read only then one method could be to use javascript, you could add an extra member which is dynamic calc and point to the original member with a formula but it doesn't sound like you want to do that.

Paragon even has non-destriuctive conversion utility if you do want to change drive.
Hard to imagine using 3TB that isn't NTFS. Mac uses GPT for default partition type as well as HFS+
