Beta version of Weblogic 6.0 and classcast exception error.

As an FYI to those who have be receiving the "dreaded" classcast
          exception error, the new version of Weblogic seems to fix the problem.
          It took me awhile to figure out how th deploy the web application, but
          once I did the application seemed to work w/o a problem (and w/o the
          error).

We do not offer a JDBC driver for Linux in version 5.1. In version 6.0,we
do offer a type 4 driver for Linux.
In version 5.1, I suggest trying the platform independent type 4 JDBC driver
available for free from Oracle. It is supported (as is any JDBC driver)
with WebLogic Server. To download it:
Go to http://www.oracle.com and select the "Download" option.
From the resulting page, use the "Select Utility or Driver" dropdown to
select Oracle JDBC drivers
From the resulting page, scroll down a little (since SQLJ stuff appears at
the top).

Help Migrating Java app to Weblogic 9.2 and Workshop -- startup errors

I need a little help getting my application up and running in Workshop. I recently migrated to Weblogic 9.2. Before I downloaded Workshop, I installed Weblogic 9.3 and have successfully setup and deployed the app on my PC outside of Workshop. The application is packaged as an EAR – I have extracted the war file and other contents from the ear onto my PC in order to do the deployment.
In Workshop, I have setup the application as a Java project, have pointed to the source code and required libraries, and have been able to successfully compile the application. I have setup a ‘run dialog’ with similar parameters as in the config.xml and other configuration files.
The problem I am currently having is when I start the application in Workshop, it is asking for a username. I have tried to enter the username that I setup with the original deployment (before I installed Workshop) and it does not accept it – it always shuts down.
How can I either make it not require a username, or else use (point to) the same startup configuration as my original deployment, from before installing Workshop?

Itunes wont startup and getting exception errors

So, here I am with my brand spanking new ipod touch 4 gen and very excited, that is until.... I realise something's wrong, very wrong.
I download the new version of itunes ontop of my old version, and try to start itunes and get this error:
"The exception unkinown software exception (0xc0000409) occured in the application at location 0x01aa3335", so I tried the below and still get the same error:
* uninstalling anything itunes related & reinstalling
* uninstalling anything itunes related using Revouninstaller & reinstalling
* deleted temp drive (as per support page)
* reconfigured using msconfig (as per support page)
* cleared my recycle bin and rebooted machine numerous times
I need help and don't know what I should do next..... anyone?

Can you reinstall iTunes and then post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:

Can Creative Suite 6 Design Standard beta version be transferred?

I tried to transfer a Create Suite 6 Standard beta version (Didn't know it is a beta version when I deactivated on the laptop) from my laptop to another computer. After I entered the serial number, it says "The serial number you entered is invalid. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact customer support". Then I contacted the customer support, they told me they don't support beta version. So I wonder who can help me transfer the software? Is the beta version not transferable?

Fjczxx the beta license is no longer valid. It was only designed for an evaluation of the software prior to it's release. You can verify if the serial number is a beta serial number or not by checking under your account at http://www.adobe.com/. You can find more details on how to locate your serial number at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.
If you are able to register your serial number and it is not a beta version then it may be possible that the error can be due to the migration/copy process. Which operating system are you using? Did you migrate or transfer any files over to this new laptop?

Wrong Version of Weblogic Server with Enterprise Pack?

Hello. I am having a runtime server problem with my Enterprise Pack. Here is the scenario:
I downloaded and installed Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3. I am using the bundled (Eclipse) Enterprise Pack that came with it. I am following the "Introduction to the Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) IDE" tutorial. I am at the stage (in wizard) where I am creating an eclipse project, and assigning the target runtime server. It says to pick Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3 as the server. I do this. At the next step, when I browse and select the weblogic home for my chosen server, I get the following error:
The path "C:\bea\wlserver_10.3" contains the wrong version of WebLogic Server. Expected version 10.3.0. Found version 10.3.1.
This strikes me as odd as it is the server that the eclipse enterprise pack came with. At this point, I can go no further. Should I download a different version of the Enterprise Pack? Should I install a different version of weblogic? I am not sure what to do, and would appreciate any insights. Thanks.

On 2009-09-22 I downloaded and installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11gR1 from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/enterprise-pack-for-eclipse/index.html Windows All-In-One oepe-ganymede-win32.zip. I installed it into an existing exclipse directory and maybe that is related. I'm currently deleting that directory and unzipping the root of C to see if that helps.
We have a DEV instance up that I hope be able to deploy to remotely. It is on a secure server (i.e. https://crpXXdev1:9023). The splash screen indicates that version is WebLogic Server 11g and WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.1.0
I also downloaded and installed Oracle Web Logic 11gR1 (10.3.1) so I could deploy on my development box as well. I installed it to bea10_3_1_0. I can start this instance and when I do the splash screen says starting weblogic with Java version: java version 1.6.0_11.
Logs should be written to:C:\bea10_3_1_0\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\AdminServer\logs\AdminServer.log.>
I see Server started in RUNNING mode.
I throw this in my Browser http://localhost:7001/console/login/LoginForm.jsp and I get splash screen and can log in as User name weblogic.
Systems Status says OK
As I go through the OTN Tuturial 'Introdcution to Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) IDE, configure the eclipse.ini fill as shown (e.g. -vm C:\bea10_3_1_0\jdk160_11\bin). And just to be safe I remove the following from my Environment Path so I don't use a pre Jave 1.6 version C:\Sun\SDK\jdk\bin;C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.3.1\bin;
I fire up eclipse and go to Window / Preference Installed JREs and Add a reference to jdk160_11 in c:\bea10_3_1_0\jdk160_11. That is the only JRE I reference.
I don the following
1. Select Help > Software Updates > Available Software > Add Site.
2. In the Add Site dialog, enter http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/ganymede, and then click OK.
3. Select Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse, verify that all of the subcomponents are selected, and then click Install.
I get some prompts see some download activity and after it is down, restart Eclipse.
I go to Open Perspective and Java EE is not available as an option to choose. This is bad because I cannot see the Server tab to add a Server. I could do this yesterday before I re-installed Eclipsed. Without the Server tab and can not continue the tutorial to get to where I was having errors yesterday.

Feature Request: 1. Clarify metadata updating in Guide, and 2. make errors visible.

A couple things would help immensely:
1. Clarify metadata schema/version updating in the guide, and
2. make errors visible - as it stands, these flash by so fast they are unreadable. I've a feeling there's some useful information in them thats going straight to bit bucket instead of eyes/brain.

One thing thats confusing in the guide is the example update function is provided, yet 'noAutoUpdate' is not provided.
I thought if no-auto-update is nil, then the update function would not be called. Is this just a whoops in the doc, or is there something I'm missing? i.e. is it possible to use auto-updating in conjunction with the manual update function? Say if item versions are changing but not the schema version?
What is the purpose of noAutoUpdate if the mere presence or absence of an update function would do the same thing? I'm starting to think it must be possible to have auto update and manual update concurrently, but if so - how would that work? auto-update runs first, then manual? Or, maybe auto-update (only) runs if no schema change but item version changes, and manual update runs (only) if schema changed. Or maybe auto runs first to handle item version changes, then manual runs to do the schema update - I'm getting confused again.
Also, if previousSchemaVersion is nil, will the update function still be called? If so, then one had better check for it or no first-time users will ever be able to install the plugin, since update func would "error out" when comparing nil to a number. Actually, it may be that update function errors dont hurt in this case - my previous problem was errors that I think kept the update function from being called at all - which made it impossible to enable the plugin.
PS - I miss the days when Eric Scouten would at least occasionally respond on the SDK forum.

Try contacting iTunes via email to check if there is an issue with the account. go to apple.com/support/itunes
Click on iTunes Store account and billing and select inquiries. On the right side click on "email us".
Before doing that trying viewing your account information first. Open the iTunes on you mac, look at the menu and select store and select view my account. Try removing the card (this is only applicable if you don't have a pending charges with iTunes) and hit done. Sign out, quit iTunes and sign back in and try updating the apps again.

That typically happens when you have your database connections configured
incorrectly. WebLogic is timing out on accessing the database.

JCA - JRA - Beta version - WebLogic

I am working got a client who wants to connect to SAP using JCA standard in a WebLogic 7SP2 application server.
I am using sapjra.rar, which I downloaded from SAP's service web site.
I had to change the ra.xml in the rar file to be able to deploy (there was an authentication-mechanism-type that I had to remove since it was not being recognized by the WebLogic deployment tool)
I am facing two problems:
1. In WebLogic 7sp2, I cannot access the connection factory from my code... (in my ejb, i am looking for java:comp/env/eis/SAPJRA). When I deploy the same ear file to WebLogic 8, it works perfectly. (in production we have WebLogic 7 sp 2)
2. sajra is a beta version, and the client doesn't want to use a 'risky' connector... does any body know if SAP is going to release a final version of this component?

about your second question - I remember other questions being posted around SDN forums asking about SAPJRA version, but no answers have been given so far. However, there is a contact person mentioned on the SAPJRA page on the Service Marketplace - Udo Paltzer (mailto:[email protected]). So maybe it's a good idea to contact him and get official info about the SAPJRA beta version status?

I think when uninstalling you may also have to choose (tick) to delete the preferences and other personal data like the bookmarks, stored passwords etc. to erase completely. If you are installing afresh, please try right-clicking on the file and '''Run as administrator''' to install. And when uninstalling, please also make sure choose to delete all data and also manually delete any '''Mozilla''', '''Mozilla Firefox''' or '''Firefox''' from %appdata%, %localappdata% and %programfiles%. You can open a location by typing for eg. %appdata% in the '''Run''' box (Windows key + R). You may also have to check the '''VirtualStore''' folder in %localappdata%. Files in the VirtualStore can be problematic. I think a clean installation may help.

Please note that using system restore would usually damage the Firefox installation.

Having a problem with LR5 install and beta version

I uninstalled LR5 beta first, then purchased and installed LR5 on windows 7. Now when I open LR5 I only get the images I download on the beta version and not my LR4 catalogs etc. How do I get LR4 to merge into LR5 new install?

Jan, it sounds like most of your work is in your LR4 catalog? In that case, I would start Lightroom 5, go to File > Open Catalog and point to your Lightroom 4 catalog (like dj_paige said). Lightroom 5 will update your LR4 catalog. Depending on how many images are in your catalog, this could take some time.
Once your Lightroom 4 catalog is completely upgraded, decide if you want to merge your beta catalog into the upgraded catalog or not. If you do, you can do File > Import from Another Catalog and point to your Beta catalog. This will merge it into your newly-updated Lightroom 4 catalog.

I uploaded beta version of Firefox. jigzone puzzles download is loading multiple puzzles in the same wiindow maybe 20 or more puzzles at the same time. How doI get rid of the beta version and go back to the previsious versions or correct the problem.

My newspaper downloaded. the download of jigzone puzzle created multiple copies of the puzzle in the same window. I went to safari to see if it was the jigzone website but it downloaded correctly. Probably wasn't a good idea to install beta software on a device when you're not a developer.
Apple clearly states that beta software is not to be installed on production devices.
Not really much you can do except wait for iOS 6.1 to be officially released and then install it.

Well, you can waste a lot of time and money trying to get your old iron up to speed but the sad fact is, even though it may work with Color, it will most likely end in a less than satisfactory experience all around. You need to determine if your G5 has PCI, PCI-x or PCIe slots and then purchase the appropriate cards.
However, Final Cut Studio 2 is optimized for the Intel processors. You will see users here and there using the newest models G5 with great success but quite honestly, you need a Mac Pro.
Or just purchase the Aja IO/HD which is a firewire 800 interface and the only firewire device that will preview externally Color.
