Better Redirect for OTN HELP

Hi,
This is Oracle Support Technical Services HUB requesting if the following issues could be reviewed.
1) If the OTN area on the 'Contact Us' page could be more prominent, or be listed 'above' the Oracle 'Support' Contact Numbers.
2)Likewise, when someone selects OTN or Downloads and then the 'Contact Us' link. It should just display the OTN relevant information. If the Oracle Technical support number still needs to be displayed on this same page 'Contact Us' can a disclaimer be added under the 'Support' area that this 1-800-223-1711 phone number is for Customer's with a valid CSI or support contract for Oracle Support only, not for OTN free or downloaded software or OTN members general questions and then maybe a redirect could be done to the 'Forums'.
2)When an OTN download fails and 'page cannot be displayed error occurs' can we redirect customers to the new OTN Member Services area.
Reasons for this request: Is that whenever a download fails or a customer has OTN questions with any part of the site the first number usually called is the 'Oracle Support Technical' 1-800-223-1711 phone line. Which we then have to redirect customer back to Forums etc.
We do see there is a new OTN member services area in forums with different areas for topics, this is a great improvement.

If there is work that is affecting a number of customers, BT generate a fault number for every user, which can be viewed by logging in to your online account, and viewing faults.
These fault numbers stay on the system for a couple of days, so yours may still be there.

    Recently I needed to 'phone the BT help because our Broadband had failed. We have four devices connected to the router and all could see the router but none could connect to the Internet.
    I used the testing function on the router and found that the router could not connect to the DNS server.
    The man on the help desk was very helpful, but despite me telling him that all the devices could see the router but none could connect to the Internet he went through a number of questions and asked me to try a number of different things that were clearly attempting to correct a fault in just my PC connected.
    The phone conversation lasted over 30min and although it is an 0800 number and therefore, "free", I suspect BT recoup the cost through the normal cost of BT Broadband.
    When none of the attempts to get my PC reconnected succeeded he tested the line and found that work was being done which had interrupted the broadband connection.
    A lot his and my time could have been saved by a few questions at the beginning of the conversation, eg
    "How many PC/laptops/other devices do you have connected to your router?"
    "Are any of these devices able to connect to the Internet?"
    Where there are multiple devices but none can connect to the Internet, a more widespread problem is likely and a line test should be done.
    A top down, rather than bottom up approach must be better - little point in spending time trying to get an individual PC setup properly if the line isn't working.
    Had the above questions been asked and the line tested occurred I telephoned, my enquiry would have lasted about 1 minute (it took less than 30 seconds for him to find out there was work on the line) instead of about 30.
    This must be more efficient.

  • I need to delete files from my iMac hard drive, but not from my other devices (that are sync. to iCloud). How do I do this?? My Mac is a 24-inch Mid 2007 running on Mountain Lion. Thanks for your help.

    I have recently recieved messages indicating that my start up disc is almost full. Consequently I need to remove some files from my hard drive. I've backed up my hard drive onto a NAS system & onto an external harddrive. The problem now, is that whenever I try to delete a file, a message comes up saying that if I remove this file from my hard disc it will remove it from all my other devices that are syn. to it. How do I remove a file (movies) from my iMac but not from other devices.

    You're right - this question has nothing to do with iSync!
    You're best bet would be to buy yourself an external Firewire or USB 2.0 hard-disk. There's no way you'll get 150gb onto an 80gb drive - certainly not in an instantly accessible way.
    Your new Mac would've had the Migration Assistant appear during the initial OS install. This allows you to connect your new and old Mac together via a Firewire cable and automatically transfer your important files from old Mac to new.
    Once you've all the files off your old Mac, re-format it and re-install the OS that came with it. If you boot up the Mac from the OS install DVD, there is an option to re-format the HD and install the OS.

  • New To The Forum And Looking For Speed Help!

    Hello, After trying to find information about my problem on the Internet and then speaking to the BT Indian Call Centre, I stumbled upon this forum. I am hoping, having looked at so many helpful comments and contributions, that I might be able to shed some light upon my connection speed issue. I have had a very pleasing and stable Internect connection speed of nearly 8Mb. However, I recently moved my router to the Master socket in the house which was better positioned to give a good WiFi signal throughout my house. However, when I have plugged in the router and booted it up, I can only connect at just over 4Mb regardless of what I try. I know I am at risk of sounding a touch ungrateful here because there are many more people with bigger problems than I but I would be very grateful for some advice / assisitance as to why my problem might have occurred and how I might regain my previous speed. Thank you in advance for any help! Cheers.

    in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester (MAC users may have problems) http://speedtester.bt.com or http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/935​4/c/346,4740,5520 and post the results .
    are you connected directly to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
    Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
    Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

    First, you need to understand that there's a difference between "syncing" and "backup".  Backup is the saving of content and settings, where syncing is the bidirectional transfer of content for an account to a web-based server (like iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
    If you see your calendar in your iCloud account, that implies that you have set up your iCloud account to host (sync) your calendar, and perhaps contacts, email, and notes.  An iCloud account can only sync one user's information at a time so it is intended to support a single user.  You can have more than one iCloud account, and you can even have more than one iCloud account on the same device (but one has to be primary, and the secondary iCloud has limited capabilities), but a single iCloud account only supports a single user's content.
    Backup is the saving of your device's content and settings to use in case you need to recover these things, but you can't see the contents of your backup (just the size and device name).  You can backup more than one device to iCloud and you can backup to iCloud or you can backup to your computer, or both (one at a time though, you have to choose). 
    So, if your wife has her own email and calendar she can certainly do that in parallel to whatever account(s) you have for email and calendar.  But if you have only one iCloud account then only one of you can use it for email, calendar, etc.  But the backup of these accounts is really just a backup of the device's settings that link the device to these accounts. For example, if she uses Gmail then the backup of the iPad only backs up the fact that your iPad is set up to use her account, it does not backup the account itself (the content of her account is saved and preserved on Google's servers, not your device's backup).
    Does that make better sense?

    You cannot downgrade.
    You can reset your phone to factory settings if you wish to see if it corrects your issue. Resetting to factory settings will wipe out all your data so you should save it first. To save all your stuff download and install BlackBerry Link on your computer from the link below. Resetting will not back-up the OS on your phone. Once you have downloaded and installed BlackBerry Link connect your phone to your computer and save your stuff. Once saved disconnect your phone from the computer.
    To reset your phone: tap the Settings App, scroll down and tap Security and Privacy, tap Security Wipe, tap the blank box and enter blackberry.

  • Beta drivers for Audigy2

    Well, the title says what I'm looking for, but here's my problem:
    I had installed Quake4, and was playing fine. After I had finished the game, I went to update my drivers (finally,) and noticed that I was running my NX on generic windows drivers. I updated all the drivers, mediasource, etc... (along with some other housekeeping updates,) and I now can no longer open the game.
    I've already eliminated the video card update as the problem, and I honestly don't know of a way to eliminate a bios update issue, however, I HIGHLY doubt that is the culprit. After some discussions in the quake disc. boards, I sence that there is a problem with the creative drivers. I have been told that most people are getting success by using the latest beta drivers, and I was linked to a file called "SBA2_PCDrvBeta_LB_2_08_0002.exe" However, when I try to run that file, I'm told that "Setup is unable to detect a supported device on your system..." As the title says Audigy2/ZS, Audigy 4, I'm thinking these are the wrong beta drivers for my device, but I can't find beta drivers for the Audigy2 NX USB

    I have tried re-installing, that isn't working. I'm also hearing that people are having success when installing the OpenAL libs....

    I suspect you had the same issue I did and downloaded the 64-bit version of the OpenSC libraries, but your firefox is 32-bit. You can see the opensc-pkcs11.dll in the System32 folder via windows explorer, but when you browse that directory via firefox to add the module, you are acutally being redirected to the SysWOW64 directory. Try intstalling the 32-bit OpenSC libraries, and adding the appropriate library from the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory.

    Web Dispatcher configuration already in place.
    We are already using the URL's for NWBC through webdispatcher & masked the hostname & ports for Development/Quality systems in Development webdispatcher systems.
    Now currently we have created the Url with port for EP development systems as "https://abc.company.com:8200" & I have placed the relevant details in configuration profile but the re-direction is not happening and by default its taking the prefix ashttps://abc.company.com:8200/sap/bc/nwbc instead ofhttps://abc.company.com:8200/irj/portal .Also note if I replace the redirection rule & set as icm/HTTP/redirect_0= PREFIX=/, TO=/irj/portal redirection works but the rest of the multiplesystems which is Abap & using nwbc prefixes will not work.So to summarize , we want to use both the redirections for nwbc as well as portal in one webdispatcher.

    Hi Tim,
    Unfortunately this is not possible; you can't associate multiple certificates to a single proxy list due to the fact that SSL handshake is done first with no visibility of the URL being requested, so the CSS won't know which public server to use in order to perform the traffic decryption.
    But there are a couple of options that you may want to look at (depending on the URL string)
    If your URLs are subdomains and you hold a wildcard SSL certficate to match multiple requests, i.e your domain being "pets.com" you can have a certficate that will match request for dogs.pets.com or cats.pets.com because the cert will be in the form *.pets.com
    The second option is SAN (Subject alternative names) certificates; which give you the option to include up to 4 flavors of the domain within the same file, such as pets.com, pets.net, www.1pets.com.

    Hi all,
    Like others, I find that my HP Photosmart Pro B9180 produces prints that are 20-30% darker than the image on my calibrated monitor. I am running CS3 on my Mac OSX Leopard system. I am trying to print on HP's Advanced Photo Glossy paper.
    My color settings are along the lines of those recommended by Scott Kelby (Adobe RGB workspace and prolife; and I allow PS CS3 manage colors and not the printer).
    I've experimented with other printer profiles provided by HP, but nothing delivers a good print. Has anyone found a good ICC profile that will work with this printer/paper combination?

    Ok, you caught the typo. I actually went back to his book to find the proper page citation to support my statement, until I realized you were having a bit of fun. Just so the record is clear, I have no knowledge as to whether Mr. Kelby is or is not prolife.
    Anyway, on to your advice....
    "You need to calibrate and profile your particular monitor, then use the resulting profile as your MONITOR PROFILE. (DEVICE DEPENDENT.)"
    Did that, as I mentioned in my original post.
    "Finally, your target profile has to be a specifically calibrated profile for the particular combination of paper, ink and printer. (DEVICE DEPENDENT)."
    Yes, that is the essence of my message in which I am asking for assistance in locating a better ICC profile for my printer (HP B9180) and paper (HP Advanced Photo Glossy) combination. The stock ICC profile from HP is generating poor results. Short of printing off target sheets and sending out for a customized profile, I thought I would see if anyone else has tumbled to a better profile. Others have encountered a similar color and tonal shift in their prints using the same set up as me, so someone may be able to point me in the right direction.
    Also, I did review the site to which you directed me. As Mr. Ballard points out:
    "The problems users have with Photoshop, and color managed applications are:
    1) They break the Color Management System CMS, by attempting to turn it off -- when in fact they can't!

    My problem is precisely the one he identifies as point (2) -- I have a bad output device profile and I wish to correct that.

    All this sounds like you are confused about the general nature of MIDI Continuous Controllers (MIDI CC). The MIDI specification allows for 128 different CC's: CC0 to CC127. Some are typically "preallocated" to 'standard functions: CC1= Modulation, CC7=Volume, CC10+Pan, CC11= 'Expression'. Some act as switches such as 'Sustain' CC64.

    Mainstage works with MIDI CC's generally in a number of ways:
    Some standard ones are automatically passed through to all MIDI/Instrument channels unless you specifically block them. Others are not passed through unless you specifically map them to something.
    This mapping can be done basically two ways (with MS 2.2):
    a) Make a Screen Control in Layout mode, and assign it to a particular incoming MIDI CC message. Then, you can map this Screeen Control to a variety of parameters such as the volume of a particular channel strip.
    b) With MS 2.2, you can do the above Assign and Mapping directly, without the need for Screen Controls as an 'intermediary'.

    Yes.
    It sounds to me like you have an issue where you have several hardware controls on your Keyboard set up to transmit the same MIDI CC. This is probably not a good idea, and it would be much better if you assigned them to transmit different CC messages (CC1 for Modulation and probably CC11 for the Expression (though you may want to set the pedal to some other number instead.
    Once you are transmitting different CC messages, you will be able to Assign and Map much more flexibly:
    for example, you could one to control the overall output volume at Concert Level in MS, whilst the other controls the volume of a specific channel within a Patch.
    Your issue of layered patches is one of "Scaling": one Screen Control (assigned to an incoming MIDI CC message) needs to alter the ranges of different channel strips to different amounts. You can set this up by using multiple mappings for one Control, each set to work over a particular range (for example a goes from -20 to 0 whilst b goes from -30 to -20 etc.).

    Thanks for the speedy reply.  I have read so many comments about Flash being incompatible with Lion I was wondering whether to download it or not.  So many sites on the Web still require flash, however, you almost don't have a choice but to download it even if it is incompatible.  I gather a better version of Flash will be available for Lion soon.  Again, thanks for the help.  I will download the latest version of Flash.
