Bex Designer 3.5: An unexpected 'invalid procedure call or argument' error

Hi,
Our Bex environment has both 3.5 and 7.0 queries and objects.
Recently Bex Query Designer 3.5 started crashing when we expand on the Restricted Key Figures. It works fine in 7.0 designer. And, expanding the Calculated Key Figures works fine in both 3.5 and 7.0
It only happens on 1 multiprovider, which has more than 100 RKFs.
The error message is: An unexpected 'invalid procedure call or argument' error occured in wdbrlog.
On clicking Continue, the next message is: Run-time error '-2147221499 (80040005)'; Fatal Error - Terminating
The same error is happening in Test, UAT and Production environments for this 1 multiprovider.
I resinstalled Business Explorer client software, but no change.
Any suggestions on how to fix or approach fixing this?
Thanks!

Problem was resolved by opening a note with SAP. Their response is pasted below:
"The problem has been solved. The reason for the termination in Query Designer was actually the fact the one Restricted Key Figure somehow has lost it's technical name.
The problematic object is RKF SAP Plan Value (4L9J85WYTCFK4DEA63PD2R4V7)The user given name of this object was not available in the database table RSZCOMPDIR and was actually required in the Query Designer. The application was not able to create a tree of expanded RKFs having no technical names.
In general, this error can be fixed by the special check program analyze_rsz_tables which is supposed to try to find out this missing technical name. But in this particular case the repair procedure in the program has failed as no traces or information what this missing name could be was available. Therefore I just fixed this issue manually by entering a new technical name for this object."

  • FDM Conditional Map error - Invalid Procedure Call or arguments

    Hi,
I am trying to add a script to my LIKE mapping to pick up the target Product based on the type of target account.
This is the script I have written -
    If Mid(varValues(14),1,1) = "6" Then Result = varValues(37) Else Result = varValues(21) End If
When i try to import (using Integration script from a database table) I get the error - Invalid Procedure Call or arguments.
If I remove the 'Else' part, it imports successfully. Also I tried the same using Case statements - I get the same error, if I remove 'Case Else' it works fine.
Any hekp on this would be highly appreciated!
    Thanks in advnace...

This mapping is associated with Product dimension - UD10 (varValues(37)). UD10 is active and mappable, mapped to target Product dimension. UD2 (varValues(21)) is the lookup which is not mapped to a target dimension.

    Hi Roger,
Can you please confirm that you carried out the steps outlined in the Diagnosing Exporter Problems announcement - http://forums.oracle.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=376 ?
I have been unable to reproduce the reported error with the 2002 Exporter, so for the time being, I would recommend that you continue using the 2000 version. It would be very helpful if I could obtain a copy of your MDB file (a copy of the MDB file without the data would suffice). I could then use it in an attempt to replicate the issue, and resolve it for a future release of the Exporter tool. If possible, could you please update your profile with your email address so I can contact you directly.

    Hi,
The MONITOR told that the hhes3.exe is trying to query wing.dll,wing32.dll  qtim32.dll and WAVMIX16.dll which cannot be found on your system. See:
And wing.dll is a very old Windows 3.11 DLL, more information regarding this, please check this thread:Wing.dll
    could not be found,
As you told that this application could be run on another PC running Windows 7 Premium, could you please also have a share with the log running on that PC?
From the result it seems that this application is not compatible with your OS current version. So if you want to run this application, we could run it in an XP virtual box, or we might try with
    XP mode.
    Hope this might help
    Best regards

  • While I running macros created by Excel recorder getting run time error "5" Invalid procedure call or argument

    Hi,
I',m very new of EXCEL VBA programs, one of the pivot table able to run with out error.
but other getting error when i run it
below codes are automatically created by excel macro recorder.
if you help me out this situation, i really appriciated
    Sub Macro11()
    ' Macro11 Macro
        ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("LCG-JKX").PivotTables("ThickCheckIn").PivotCache. _
            CreatePivotTable TableDestination:="LCG-JKX!R17C64", TableName:= _
            "PivotTable9", DefaultVersion:=xlPivotTableVersion15
        Sheets("LCG-JKX").Select
        CellS(17, 64).Select
        ActiveWorkbook.ShowPivotTableFieldList = True
        With ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable9")
            .PivotFields("Thick(mm)").Orientation = xlRowField
            .PivotFields("matTypeC").Orientation = xlPageField
        End With
        ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable9").ColumnGrand = False
        Range("BL17").Select
        ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable9").PivotSelect "", xlDataAndLabel, True
        Selection.ClearContents
        Range("BH18").Select
    End Sub

You can't have two pivot table with same name in a sheet. As the macro names pivot table as "Pi...9" always if you run 2nd time, macro will try naming with "Pi..9" again but is not allowed.
try changing only the first block.
    ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets("LCG-JKX").PivotTables("ThickCheckIn").PivotCache. _
            CreatePivotTable TableDestination:="LCG-JKX!R17C64", TableName:= _
            "PivotTable" & [=round(Rand()*1000,0)], DefaultVersion:=xlPivotTableVersion15
Just added RAND to make the pivot table name unique.

    Hi,
Unfortunately, the available information is not enough to have a clear view of the occurred behavior. Base on my experience, it may cause by some of one resource abnormal
failure, I suggest that please schedule a down time to run “Repair Active Directory object” in “Simulate Failue of this resource” status. And the operation “Repair Active Directory Object” will force to update the object’s attributes.

  • Stored Procedure Call from Bean Error - PLS-00201

              Hello all,
I am using the java stored procedure code in the examples dir of weblogic51/examples/jdbc/...
with one exception. I created the stored procedure as another user with more
              permissions than
the user that the jdbc connection will be established with. I created a public
              synonym so the stored
procedure doesn't have to be refered to as "username.proc_squareInt". I keep
              getting the following
errors. The web user has execute permissions and I tried calling it both with
              the owner.proc_name
and proc_name (which I know won't work since it won't be able to find it).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
              Sincerely,

this is probably an oracle related issue, and has very little to do with
              Weblogic transactions.
your easiest way to debug this is to open a SQL/Plus window, log in as user
WTHDBM and try to run the command
              "execute proc_squareInt(5,5);"
              "execute owner.proc_squareInt(5,5);"
if this doesn't work, consult Oracle technet on how to setup synonyms and
              permissions

  • An unexpected 'invalid property array index' error occured in wdbrlog

    Hi experts,
    My system is :
    SAP_BW 7.0 Path  0012
SAP GUI Final Release Patch 24
In my query definition, I right-click on one of the characteristics..Eg. Posting Date --> Properties --> Change 'Suppress Results Rows' option from "Never" to "Always". --> Press OK.
Then I get this pop-up with error message:
    <u>Program Error Intercepted
An unexpected 'invalid property array index' error occured in wdbrlog.
    1 error(s) are logged.</u>
If I say continue, it kicks me out of BeX. I need to re-login to do the stuff.
I find some information, but i dont know what happens.
Did anyone get the similar error?
    Thanks,
    Marc

  • Bex designer error on restricted action

    Hello,
In the Bex designer, I have the following error when I use the Restrict function on a characteristic :
"unexpected 'activex component can't create object' error occured in wdbrlog."
    Thanks for your help ....
    Rgds,
    Martine

    Hey Martine,
I have a similar problem. BEx terminates with a run-time error every time I try to access the Fiscal year / Period characteristic in the Time dimension. This happens in (as far as I know) two situations:
    - when I click to open the values branch to display the values in the tree.
    - when the selector box tries to display the values that I can choose from to define a restriction.
    All other characteristics are fine.
Just before the crash, three successive status messages appear in the bottom left corner of the Query Designer screen: Getting Master Data - Reading Master Data - Reading Query Definition. It's always during this third action that BEx goes down. I wonder if there is some editable routine or script behind those status messages that causes the problem.
Another thing I found is that the BW server performs a rollback every time BEx crashes like this. (Message number R68 in SM21). Is this a normal event when a connection is lost?
I've looked for other posts on many forums on the same subject, but only one solves the problem by installing an SP that is older than the system I work on. (I work on BW 3.1 SP 18).
    I'd really appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Wittakay

  • Bex Design Problem

Hi all, I have a problem about design. I created a multiprovider.I'm using 0FI_AR_4 related cube (ZDEBIOTOR related data is coming from here) . and I'm using 0FI_GL_4 related ODS (G/L related data will come from here)
I'm using ZDEBITOR charactheristic within the "rows" field of the bex designer. but, I want to calculate an unrelated with ZDEBITOR value (actually it related with gl acount) for every rows of the report.but it tries to find a customer field even 0FI_LG_4 don't have. how can I do?

I can't enhance GL4 cube because r-3 data don't have customer information, so data source doesn't have too. in the bex report, the situation is like this:
customer1's balance value, g/l account balance value (this g/l is total discount balance value)
i will divide discount balance value to the total sales amount and will get net sales amount. my problem is calculating g/l balance value within the same row with the customer because it doesn't have customer info. how can I calculate a global value that is unconnected with any type restrictions (for example row charactheristic)?

  • Condition issue in BI Bex Designer Report...

    Hi
In BI Bex Designer while writing the condition, may times I observed that If my condition doesn't work having its Characteristic Assignment is set to "All Characteristics in the Drill-down Independently" which is default, but if I set the option to "Individual Chars and Char Combinations" & check all the fields, it works.
But most of the time default nature works unlike above. Just wanted to find out: what is the rule?
May someone help me in this issue.
    Thanks...

To my knowledge when you select All Characteristics in the Drill-down Independently, condition works with respect to the characteristics which are currently drilled down in your report.
But when you select Individual Chars and Char Combinations, condition works on the characteristics which are currently drilled down in your report and also the characteristics that are available in free charactritics.
So I think All Characteristics in the Drill-down Independently and Individual Chars and Char Combinations and selecting all the characteristic checboxes are not the same. All Characteristics in the Drill-down Independently and Individual Chars and Char Combinations and selecting the characteristics which are in your rows are the same.

  • Error Creating VM on 2011 iMac - The Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management service encountered an unexpected error: The remote procedure call failed. (0x800706BE).

I am running Hyper-V in Windows 8.1 on a late 2011 27 inch iMac. Whenever I try to create a virtual machine I get the error below and Windows warns that it will restart in 1 minute. I tried a clean install of Windows, but my PC still crashes ever
time I try to create a VM. I was able to successfully use Hyper-V in prior versions of Windows on this same PC. Any clue as to what is going on? A driver? Windows 8.1? Mac Hardware related?

    Hi CharlesPool,
    I am assuming that the win8.1 is in-place updated from win8 .
Maybe you need to check the state of hypervisorlaunchtype .
If it is off , please run command " bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto "

  • BW - Invalid procedures

    Hi all,
From production to development instances of BW, I remark that all procedures are in invalid status. Those procedures are started as "/BI0/<number> and the owner is sapr3.
When recompiled those invalid objects, I got only this kind of error : PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
I did verify 1 procedure, and effectively the table used in the procedure does not exist.
    My questions are :
    1) Is it normal that those procedures exist but the objects used donot exist ?
    2) Can I drop those invalid procedures ? Do I need a consent of SAP support ?
    3) In case I cannot drop them, how can I put them in valid status ?
    Thanks for your input.
    Hai-Thuy.

    Hi Stefan,
In my BW production, there are about 600 invalid out of 600 temporary objects. The created date of those were back on 2001. Some of them (3%) were re-used recently, March 29th 2008.  Others seems not.
According to note #449891, those objects are used in the InfoCube, and should be removed after use.  I understand that views/packages/procedures do not taking spaces but, if they suppose not to be there, then they should not be there.
I'll work with the BW developer to add the extra steps at the end of InfoCube process to remove all temporary objects it creates during the run.
    Regards
    Hai-Thuy.
