BEx Load Balancing Query

Hi,
We are at Bi 7.00/AIX/Oracle.
How can we load balance the query running via BEx. Most of the time it is going to CI, which is message server and not part of logon group. Our Web Queries are running fine because we have put a Logon Group in SICF for a required service.
How can I resolve the BEx issue.
Please let me know if it is possible.
Thank you.
Sume

If you log on to BEx Analyzer and connect to a system you select an entry from the SAP Logon pad just as if you connect to a system with SAP GUI. In the system entry in the SAP Logon pad you can specify a logon group. This logon group is then also used in BEx Analyzer. Probably your system points to the CI without logon group.

  • Azure Load Balancer - Query for VMs in rotation or removed from rotationq

    From what I can tell, there is no way to know if any of the VMs configured as part of a Load-Balanced Set has been taken out of rotation. I see a PS script to set the Azure Load Balancer Endpoint -

  • Oracle RAC load balancing advisory services query

    Hi,
    I have a query on RAC load balancing advisory.
    Is it possible to create a service for exeuction of a PL/SQL package?
    We have UNIX batches which are set of PL/SQL packages that may or may not be linked are executed daily. These batches consumes lots of resources.
    So i want to configure my services such that say pkg1 will go to node1 and pkg2 will go to node2 and so on and so forth.
    Is it possible to achieve this with Net services and LBA?
    If not, is there any other way i can do this?

    Hi, my answers are:
    Is it possible to create a service for exeuction of a PL/SQL package?Yes, that is posible, you can create a service for execute PL/SQL Packages, in fact you can create any service that you need and assign the resources and priorities for this service.
    Is it possible to achieve this with Net services and LBA?Yes, thats posible, you define the priorities at service level and where the service must run at node level.
    If not, is there any other way i can do this?Yes, if you dont wish using the LBA and services you will must create statict definition into tnsnames file for operate connection string and indicate where must connect the session for execute the package.
    Luck.
    Have a good day.

  • Link Load balancing - Data center query

    Dear all,
    I have a query on link load balancing. My scenario goes like this. The customer has taken web hosting services from two data centers. When an user who is accessing the servcies available in primary data center gets disconnected due to say link failure. Then the services should be available continuosly from the secondary data center. All the services provided by the primary data center should be available now from the secondary data center without any down time. What device i should go for, for doing this link load balancing. After searching a lot in the web, i found this Cisco Global site selector which does the link load balancing between data centers. I want to know whether i have ended up with the right choice? Plz give your valuable suggestions for the correct device i should use for load balancing multiple data center.

    That product can be quite good, I believe another company called F5 also makes good stuff in that arena... However, you have to remember that alot of this depends on what application you are doing on these servers. If you're running a service that only hosts static web pages, that's no problem. But, if you're going to be doing ecommerce where it needs to save the users "state" between page loads and such, that gets much more complex and you need to choose the right server software, such as Coldfusion or PHP or whatever to accomodate this too...

  • Query about Load-Balancer 'proxy'

    Hi,
    When using load-balancer 'proxy', with multiple remote addresses defined, does the client randomly select the initial connection from the list of remote connections in the config file?
    I know the proxy will redirect a client to a less loaded proxy, however I want to distribute the initial connection randomly. In our configuration we will have a lot of extend clients. If they all connect to the first proxy in the list, this will cause that proxy to run hot (and possibly fall over).
    Hopefully I've explained that ok? It's quite a tounge-twister of technical terms. Anyhow if someone knows the answer to this I'd be grateful, as I can't find any clarification in the documentation.
    Cheers
    Rich

    Rich,
    When multiple remote addresses are defined, Coherence does randomize the address list defined in the configuration file and connect to the next address in the list.

  • Query on Clustering,Load Balancing and Dehydration in Oracle BPEL PM

    Hi,
    I had a Few queries on Dehydration ,Clustering and Load Balancing:
    1) In section 5.1 "Use Case for Asynchronous Web Services",insertion of a dehydration point is mentioned.What do you exactly mean by this.Can a dehydration point be inserted explicitly?OR we have to put a wait activity or something so that dehydration happens?
    2) If a dehydration point needs to be inserted explicity arent we assuming that the invoke-reply will take long?But this might not be the case always.Is is a lso possible that an asynchronous process is not a long running one.
    3) Can we configure administratively ,how much time the process (say 10 seconds or so)waits after which it gets dehydrated?
    4) Consider a load balancing scenario,where we have 2 BPEL PM's (PM1 and PM2) running on 2 different App Servers (SRV1 and SRV2)in an clustered environment.
    Scenario:
    1)We have an asynchronous process which makes a call to a human task activity.
    2)A request from client comes for this process.
    3) The load balancing server forwards it to PM1 on SRV1.PM1 processes the request and calls the human task.
    4) PM1 has not dehydrated the process.
    5) The response from the Human User comes back to the Load Balancer before the process is dehydrated by PM1.It forwards this response to PM2.PM2 searches for the Process based on the Cor-relation ID and does not find it.
    Can you tell me how this scenario is handled?
    I would be grateful if someone can answer these queries or direct me to some place where it is already explained.
    Thanks

    No, this is due to the performance of your database.

  • Query - Business Objects- CMS Cluster internals for load balancing/ sharing

    Hi,
    We are implementing CMS Cluster solution between two BOE server on Windows 2003 OS. As per documentation, One CMS server is primary, which coordinates with secory CMS server within same cluster. Does both server share equal load without external load balancer, by BOE cluster functionality? What are the tuning parameters for Load balancing between 2 CMS servers?
    Thanks for your help!!
    Regards,
    G

    If you somehow needed to accomplish load balancing between the 2 machines which wasn't 50/50 you could possibly try dns aliasing and have more copies of one machine than the other.  I'm not recommending this, just thinking out loud here.

    Hi,
    We are using Weblogic 11g, apache 2.2 and CSS load balancer for load balancing.

    Here is the plugin configuration

    Could some please help me on this.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,

    Hi Tarun,
    The problem occurs when the SSL is enabled on apache. If I access the same URL over HTTP, the parameter WLIOTimeOut works fine.
    Also I observed that, none of the parameters are getting applied to the plugin. I had switched on 'DebugConfigInfo'. With this the HTTP URL with ?__WebLogicBridgeConfig as query parameter returned the complete configuration. However when accessed with HTTPS the server did not return the configuration.
    Is there a specific configuration to be applied when apache is used with SSL?
    Thanks for your help,

  • Load balancing host named site collection

    I am jumping into the realm of host named site collection. While the learning experience has been good, still there are some questions unanswered. Please bare patience since my questions are long.
    - I have a non host header site on port 80 that has https certificate added to IIS for supporting app store in https mode.
    - I tried to created the host name site collection using https in this default port 80 non host header web application and was greeted with error. Then i extended the web app to different  zone with port 443 . Then created the host header site collection
    with https with web application name for extended 443 one. Creation went in fine.
    - I tired to use IPs on now extended IIS site and bind certificates on that one. The site does not load. I do the same again in the default zone iss site, bind ips on that one and site loads. Now question is even though host header site collection was created
    using extended web application url , why binding had to be done on default zone IIS site?
    - Second test, i changed the authentication mode for extended, no effect on host named site collection but as soon as i changed it in default zone it reflected in host named site collection. I am confused why it needs extended zone url to create the https
    site but every change done in default zone is getting reflected on this host named site collection.
    Now for load balancing , it works fine with IP? But how to load balance these host named site collection using url. I talked with f5 team and they said i need to send some reply query string from each site. Where do i do that? Or is it even needed?
    Accoring to this link : https://devcentral.f5.com/articles/name-based-virtual-hosting-with-ltm
    . If the site hosts an application, though, the monitor should request a dynamic page on each webserver which forces a transaction with the application to verify its health and returns a specific phrase upon success.
    For application monitoring, the recommended best practice is to create such a script specific to your application, configure the monitor Send string to call that script, and set the Receive string to match that phrase.
    Has any one done this before? I tired to search for resource regarding this for iis or sharepoint but was not able to get anything.
    Thank you for your patience for reading such a long question.
    Adit

    first part of question:
    Default Web Appliction in port 80: Creating https host named site collection fails.
    Extend default web application on port 443 : Https hostnamed site collection created when web application name is passed for extended web application on port 443. This means this site collection is associated with this extended web application correct? But
    all the changes made in IIS only reflect if it is made to port 80 web application. Also changing authentication scheme from Central Admin, only changes on default zone reflects on site collection not the one in extended web application? Why  if the site
    was only created on extended web application paremeter, changes on default are reflecting on it but not from extended.
    Second part of question:
    Each Hostnamed site collection when load balanced thorough f5 using IP for 3 WFE uses 3 IPs for each. This way we will run out of IPs pretty soon. I want to know if there is way to load balance these sites using Hostname or anyother paramenter through f5
    and if any body has done it?
    https://devcentral.f5.com/articles/name-based-virtual-hosting-with-ltm link talks about sending reply string
    from application but i do not know where to set it up or how to do it? No resources in the net. Just asking if any one else has done it.

  • Load Balancing, Server and / or Client ?

    Hi
    I am experiencing a problem with the connection pooling in odp.net. I have a simple test app that creates a connection, executes a query, populates an object then closes the connection. I have found that when I have client side load balancing on via the odp.net connection string property many connections are made unnecessary (sometime the actual number created reaches the max pool size but the numbers differ randomly). It appears that rather than a free connection in the pool being used more connections are being created which defeats the point of having a connection pool. I do have server side load balancing configured correctly also. Due to this finding can someone possibly answer the following questions.
    a) Do I need both server side and client side load balancing set?
    b) If I do why is the above behaviour being seen? If not could you give me a short explanation as to why not?
    Current set up is 11g (patched to 6, awaiting 7 to be applied) RAC, 2 nodes.
    Below is the C# code used while testing this. The table queried is a simple person table containing 16000 rows if data.
    OcConnection = "User Id=XXX; Password=XXX; Connection Lifetime = 60; Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(FAILOVER=on)(LOAD_BALANCE=off)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=XXX)(PORT=1521))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=XXX)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=MyFirstTest))); Pooling=true; HA Events = true; Load Balancing = true";
    Code:-
    Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection con;
    con = new Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection();
    con.ConnectionString =OcConnection;
    con.Open();
    // the command object to use for this test
    OracleCommand cmd = con.CreateCommand();
    cmd.CommandText = "select * from PERSON";
    OracleDataReader rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader();
    List<test> listTest = new List<test>();
    while (rdr.Read())
    test dc = new test();
    if (!rdr.IsDBNull(0))
    dc.id = Convert.ToInt32(rdr.GetValue(0));
    if (!rdr.IsDBNull(1))
    dc.forename = rdr.GetString(1);
    if (!rdr.IsDBNull(2))
    dc.surname = rdr.GetString(2);

    dc.street = rdr.GetString(3);
    if (!rdr.IsDBNull(4))
    dc.city = rdr.GetString(4);
    if (!rdr.IsDBNull(5))
    dc.postcode = rdr.GetString(5);
    if (!rdr.IsDBNull(6))
    dc.country = rdr.GetString(6);

    if (!rdr.IsDBNull(10))

    cmd.Dispose();
    con.Dispose();

    Here are the HTTP Headers as monitored on the client side. Notice the good.txt file includes a GET as it's initial request. All works fine in this case. However, the initial request in the bad.txt is a POST. This is odd since the URL was opened using the same shortcut in both incidents and the browser was closed between each trace that was taken. I've also reviewed the shortcut with notepad to verify it does not include unwanted data such as the JSESSIONID info....etc.
    Once you have reviewed the HTTP headers, I have these questions.
    1. IIS is sending the 100 Continue messages as you mention, but why is the CSS injecting the cookie in a 100 response that is not typically processed by the client? The bad.txt file shows the client receiving two ARPT cookies because the first cookie in the 100 continue response was ignored.
    2. I know Cisco is not really in the business of troubleshooting browser behaviour. But do you know why the browser would behave differently....GET in one request and a POST in the next? We do not wish to get into modifying the browser, so I'm hoping we can provide a solution on the server side that will allow the browser to function this way if it chooses to do so. Do you think it would make sence to push the state management up a level to the cookie handed out by JRUN? This way, the cookie would not be handed back in a 100 response from IIS, and we could tell the CSS to monitor the JRUN cookie. Of course this would require we determine how to manage this cookie either by modifying to cookie to have static data for each server, or by using the right method of hashing...etc.

  • WebAS access via Portal: Web Dispatcher required for load balancing ABAP

    Hi Folks -
    We have EP 6.0 SP18 (Java only, WebAS 6.40, Unix/Solaris).  The portal has a CI/SCS and one DI so we have a Web Dispatcher to load balance the portal servers. This works fine (and provides port 80 access).
    This portal will provide access to HTTP services from an ABAP WebAS (6.20 with 6.40 kernel, Unix/Solaris). A landscape configuration entry has been added to the portal for this ABAP system. The ABAP system has a CI and multiple app servers, all capable of handling HTTP requests.  This will also require port 80 access.
    1. Will we need an additional Web Dispatcher to load balance HTTP requests to the 'backend' ABAP WebAS system, or will the portal be smart enough to handle the load balancing itself (perhaps based on the information in the landscape configuration)?
    2. If the portal itself handles the HTTP load balancing can you point me to documentation (so I can make sure I have proper configuration)?
    3. Are there any changes to this with NW2004s Portal (we plan to upgrade soon)?
    Thanks in advance!  Jeff

    Jeff,
    Regarding:
    Q1. If you create a system object from the "SAP system with load balancing" template in portal and configure the object to point to your CI (msg server), the LB should be handled.
    Q2. Portal load balancing is handled by the message server.  If you point a test URL to the port of your message server, you will notice that you are issued a redirect the URL of your dialog instance.  The web dispatcher is just a proxy (with some intelligence).  When a request is made to the WD, it makes a connection to the MSG server, the list of active instances is queried, a redirect is made to that instanct.  If you use WD, that connection can be proxied behind a standard URL.   If you connect directly to the MSG Server instead, you will notice your URL change, just as it does on the service marketplace.
    WDs are good for providing services, masked (proxied) behind virtual names.  If you do not want the customer to see a physical URL of the server, use the WD.  There are lots of other solutions that can do this too though such as Apache, ISA, Juniper devices, Cisco LDs.  WDs have a very low performance threshold though, especially if you use SSL. WD is a performance bottleneck and should be benchmarked to see if it is right for your application.
    Q3. No changes this architecture in 04s.

  • Web Proxy Server Load Balancing

    I deployed Sun Jave Web Proxy Server 4.0 as a Reverse Proxy. I would also like to use it as a load balancer. As per the instructions, I configured the obj.conf file as shown below
    Route fn="set-origin-server" server="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" server="https:yy.yy.yy.yy" sticky-cookie="JSESSIONID" sticky-param="jsessionid" route-hdr="Proxy-jroute" route-cookie="JROUTE" rewrite-host="true" rewrite-location="true" rewrite-content-location="true"
    But, it is not doing load balancing. It always sends to the first server (xx.xx.xx.xx). I guess that is because I used mapping as follows:
    NameTrans fn="reverse-map" from="https:xx.xx.xx.xx" to="https://server.net" rewrite-location="true" rewrite-content-location="true"
    NameTrans fn="redirect" from="http://server" url="https://xx.xx.xx.xx"
    NameTrans fn="map" from="https://server" to="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" rewrite-host="true" name="pa-server-farm1" NameTrans fn="map" from="/" to="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" rewrite-host="true" name="pa-server-farm1"PathCheck fn="url-check"ObjectType fn="block-ip"
    ObjectType fn="cache-enable" cache-auth="1" cache-https="1" query-maxlen="0" min-size="0" Service fn="proxy-retrieve"
    I don't understand how routing and mapping work togother. Any help in this regard is appreciated.

    Motor,
    the following is from the Web Proxy Sever Administration guide. Please, check the last paragraph for the explanation. Any how, the problem is simple. I am using the Proxy Server as the Reverse proxy. And at the same time, I would like to use two origin servers (for load balancing) instead of one. How do I make both load balancing and reverse proxy functions work together?
    Thanks
    To Create Regular or Reverse Mapping
    Access the Server Manager, and click the URLs tab.
    Click the Create Mapping link.
    The Create Mapping page is displayed.
    In the page that appears, provide the source prefix and source destination for the regular mapping,
    for example,
    Source prefix: http://proxy.site.com
    Source destination: http://http.site.com/
    Click OK.
    Return to the page and create the reverse mapping, for example,
    Reverse mapping:
    Source prefix: http://http.site.com/
    Source destination: http://proxy.site.com/
    To make the change, click OK.
    Once you click the OK button, the proxy server adds one or more additional mappings. To see the mappings, click the lView/Edit Mappings link. Additional mappings would be in the following format:
    from: /
    to: http://http.site.com/
    These additional automatic mappings are for users who connect to the reverse proxy as a normal server. The first mapping is to catch users connecting to the reverse proxy as a regular proxy. The / mapping is added only if the user doesn't change the contents of the Map Source Prefix text box provided automatically by the Administration GUI. Depending on the setup, usually the second mapping is the only one required, but the extra mapping does not cause problems in the proxy.

  • SQL Dev 2.1:Ability to save and load visual query models?

    At SQL Dev 2.1, do we now have the ability to save and load visual query models as with TOAD? Or has that functionality been rolled into the for-pay Data Modeler extension? Seemed strange to hide the functionality deep within SQL Worksheet, then not allow query models to be saved or loaded. From what I recall, load/save was scheduled to be in 2.0.
    I've not yet downloaded and installed 2.1, but also as I recall, it was promised to be a significant (e.g. new-feature rich) release. Has it lived up to that promise? Hoping also that it's not so buggy as to not merit an upgrade. At my workplace, folks have different versions of SQL Dev 1.X installed, each for the purpose of retaining functionality that got broken in future releases, etc. Would love to be able to advise them to retire their 1.X installs in favor of 2.1.
    Edited by: Dana N on Jan 21, 2010 6:45 AM

    Dana, We are working on the query builder. We have not done anything with it in recent releases as we knew that it needed completely overhauled and a
    couple of bug fixes were not going to give us the query builder we needed. Sue will be able to tell you more as the we get closer to releasing it as a feature.Thanks Barry. I know it's probably impossible to give firm dates, but my colleagues would love to know, ballpark, when query builder might be ready. Any particular year/quarter that's targeted for?
    A lot of the bugs in the 2.1 are probably my fault as we decided to build a framework which allowed tasks to be scheduled like eclipse and push them to the
    background. Coupled with this, we tore apart the worksheet to allow us to fit tasks in, but to also give us the ability to do some of the enhancement requests
    that you guys, our users, have been asking for. While its not perfect, I believe its getting much better from both a functionality and performance standpoint. The
    worksheet will not change again and there are no enhancements logged or scheduled which will do that. The issues that have come as part of 2.1 are being
    addressed and we are fixing the highest priority ones as we speak. One of my priorities is to make these components as rock solid as possible.Thanks again. It really is a nice tool to work with, and I'm grateful to have it. I would choose stability for existing features over new ones, but I suppose there always has to be a balance in development. What was really scary in the past was getting bizarre / wrong answers in query results--that's a complete show stopper; e.g. clicking on a row/col intersection in a result set row would show strange and false values. New features can wait, but core functionality must be solid. If one can't presume integrity of query results, it's game over--using a version of SQL Developer that returns inconsistent result sets between runs could be Considered Harmful, or so it is to me.
    Anyway, thanks for responding and I hope Oracle Corp gets you whatever assistance you need to improve the quality of existing functionality while adding new features; with one not being at the expense of the other. :-) Glad also to see Sue has authored a book on the tool. Hopefully that will drive customer demand and force increased allocation of development resources toward the product. I'd like to think having out-of-the-box tools that are a joy to use might even increase market share.
    Data Modeler I would love to use, but am completely priced out of it. Enterprise Architect from Sparx Systems is the best value there so far as I can tell.

  • Load balancing in Azure PaaS

    Hi all,
    I'm new to Azure and while our long term goal is to move our entire system into Azure, we have a small feature we'd like to try implementing first so that our infrastructure will be a sort of hybrid model for now. Basically I want to have a WebRole running
    a WCF endpoint that reads and writes to a queue. One caller external to my system will call the API to drop off work.  My existing system using another method in the API to query for this work that's been dropped off. Pretty simple.
    My question is about load balancing. If I were using an F5 or some other hardware based load balancer I'd throw that in front of the Web Roles setup in a round robin configuration and be done with it. if I had 4 instances of the web role and my services
    were polling once a second (assuming I have few instances of the polling service running in my existing infrastructure) I'd pick the work up in a second or two. This is perfectly acceptable performance for this process.  However, my understanding
    is Azure load balancing uses a hash algorithm that works like IP Affinity in a standard load balancer.... this won't work for obvious reasons.... what pattern should I be following for this work?  Also note, I'd like to have this geo-distributed as well.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi,
    Perhaps, you could use Azure Traffic Manager.
    Azure Traffic Manager allows you to control the distribution of user traffic to your specified endpoints,which can include Azure cloud services, websites, and other endpoints. Traffic Manager works by applying an intelligent policy engine to Domain Name
    System (DNS) queries for the domain names of your Internet resources. Your Azure cloud services or websites can be running in different datacenters across the world.
