BEx Query key figure sum different at monthly or at docu number level

I have a query designed in Query Designer. The report is summarized at the monthly level , but the document number is available for drilling down. What's strange is that the sum of the key figures is different when running at the monthly level or when drilling down at the document number level. Can someone share your insight on what how to solve this problem?

Which key figures give you an incorrect picture or discrpancies in the two displays ?
Check the properties of these key figures. Are any of the key figures posing an issue calculated as 'Formula'. If yes, then what is the Calculate Result as for this KEy Figure ? Is it TOTAL ?

it will Display Month +1 Month +2 up to Month +12. Used dynamic Text variables .
But when i created the universe and Webi report , i am missing the text in the column for Key figures .

Hi,
text variables with replacement path are supported in BO4.0, see following document: SAP BusinessObjects BI4 - Supported BEx Query Elements
As an example after entering 2012 in the prompts window, the name of the corresponding key figure will dynamically change:
After refreshing and selecting 2013, the column name will update:
Im not sure though if this is the case with unv universe access to BEx queries.

How to copy two different key figures in third key figure in different time bucket.

I require to copy one key figure-A for 2 months (M+1 and M+2) in other Key figure C. At the same time, I need to copy key figure-B from 3rd month onwards (M+3 onwards) to same key figure C. Is there any way to do this, please suggest.

Can you share Bex Calculated Key Figures in BI-IP

We have a requirement to establish P&L planning for a company. Two questions:
1. There are a number of calculations that are required for various values (i.e. current month, previous month, current month contract to date, previous month contract to date). I am trying to determine if I should build these calculations into the query using C-KFs or apply them during ETL as multiple cumulative key figures? Data volume is small (200 records a month) so we were thinking a key figure based model (instead of using cost elements) for this as they don't utilize FI in ECC in a typical fashion.
2. After we get this initial data into SAP BI for reporting, we would like simulate it using plan/forecast versions. In BI-IP I learned that it can use R-KF & C-KF as it uses BeX. If I create a bunch of C-KFs, can I utilize those calculations in BI-IP so I don't have to create FOX formulas for them?

Thanks for your responses.... Unfortuntately, I need to plan on some of these values so it sounds like CKFs won't work for me. I wonder why SAP claims BI-IP can utilize CKFs if you can't save any of the results of these? Is it possible to save them as planning items?
Also, if I have to do formula/ABAP transformations on the update rules for the flat files coming in, can I leverage any of that in BI-IP if they are on the same infoprovider? I know FOX fairly well and can off-set time periods (i.e. current month, previous month), but I don't know how to cumulative values in the ABAP routines nor time periods off-sets.
Please advise if there are any good sources for this documentation.

BEx query_Calculated key figure

I have CalMonth/Year as the time characteristics and Sales amount as keyfigure.When is give a particular month in prompt ie.,Say September ,it should calculate the sales of previus months ie.,Jan to August...and so on ...If April then Jan to March...How do I design it in BEx query designer?Kindly help

Hi Arun,
You will have to design this using Customer Exit Variable in following way,
1) Create a customer exit type variable on 0CALMONTH and make it "ready to input" also.
2) Create a RKF with 0CALMONTH and restrict it with newly created customer Exit variable and include your key figure i.e. sales amount in same RKF.
3) Now we will have to do coding in Customer Exit in following manner,
When 'Variable create on calmonth'.
If I_step = '2'.
Data: lv_year type i,
lv_month type i.
loop at i_t_var into wa_var where vname = 'Variable created on calmonth'.
lv_year = wa_var+0(4).
lv_month = wa_var+4(2).
Now populate the required value in 0calmonth variable.
concatenate '01' lv_year into l_wa_data-low.
l_wa_data-sign = 'I'.
l_wa_data-option = 'BT'.
l_wa_data-high = wa_var-high.
append l_wa_data to e_t_data.
exit.
endif.

Issue with Bex report - key Figures not populating correctly.

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue with a Bex report. There are three key figures of data type DATE having "Dec - Counter or amount field with comma and sign" datatype. After executing the query, in the report, for some sales documents the key figure fields are coming as 'X' and rest others are coming correctly in the date format as mm\dd\yyyy.
When i check in the cube, these key figures shows values in decimal format and not in date format. The conversion is happening during execution.
Pleas show me some light on how to identify the cause of getting 'X' for some Sales documents in the report eventhough some are coming correctly.

Hi,
The infobject has been defined with datatype "DATE" only. It has also been mapped from datasource to infocube correctly as these key figures are populating correctly for some of the sales documents in the report. It is not like that for all the sales documents the key figures are not converting properly.
Some Sales documents are not converting into the date fields but for some conversion happens properly in the BEx report. This is the issue.
Please guide accordingly.

Key figure summing up issue

I have an infoset based on 3 master data infoobject.Im facing the folloing problem in one of the queries based on the infoset.
In the main infoobject, i have 2 key figures, amount and wage type number.The record for one employee for e.g has values 2 in both amount as well as wage type number.
in the report i see that the value for wage type number shows 4 instead of 2. I checked all possible settings in BeX as well as at infoobject level.couldnt find the reason for such a behavior.

Hi JP,
When you are creating query on an InfoSet, you will get the values multiplied by no of combinations. You have do devide with that no(you will get in infoset, no.of records i think). Than you will get right value.
Check once again. I am sure.

Calculated Key figures using different key figures

Hi All,
I want to create a calculated key figure based on Actual and Plan.Actual values are coming from InfoCube,Plan values are loaded from Excel sheet into different key figure in another infocube.I've created a MultiProvider for these Cubes.Now I want to find the difference between plan and actual.So I created a calculated keyfigures based on the key figures.But the Query is giving error ..
Then the connection terminated..
Let me know how to do..

What is the error you are getting?
First do this.
In the query, filter on only 1 infoprovider. Check the KF's and see if correct and if you get the error. Then, do the same thing, for the other infoproviders. Once you get no errors that way. Remove the filter. See if the KF's are ok and no errors. Then do your calculation.
Also, make sure in the definition of the KF's, you are filtering each on the right infoprovider. (For instance, KF1 has a filter on infoprovider1 and KF2 has a filter on infoprovider2.)

i have created a key figures one which one I sum these 3 key figures but the result per month is not egal to the summation but to the value per month

Create one RKF based on your key figure,
go t property of RKF and mark constant selection.
now in this field you can see the sum of key figure field.
and you can use it for formula.

Query key figures showing incorrect values

Hi,
key figures in my query are showing incorrect values NO CALC POSSIBLE
Data in the cube is coming from different datasources and the cube is compressed.
this is how data in the cube looks like

Need Method to Look Up Prices from a 8 X 7 Grid for BW Query Key Figures

Hello.
I have Material Groups that have various costs associated with them in the format of an 8 X 7 Excel Grid.
Rows:
Shipping
Packaging
Labor
Etc.
Columns:
Cost if sales were above 10,000 per month.
Cost if sales were above 15,000 per month.
Cost if sales were above 20,000 per month.
etc.
I need to figure out a way to have a BW Query lookup the price from the row and column based on the monthly volumes. (kind of like a VLOOKUP and an HLOOKUP in Excel).
I thought about simply creating Key Figures for every possible combination, but I would've ended up with 56+ key figures on my ODS object.
Does anybody have a suggestion for me to do this in a cleaner manner?

If i've understood ur prob correctly than you can use the conditions function in the query...create separate conditions for your criteria and display the output ....

BEX - Virtual key-figure

I simply want to read a masterdata table and populate a key figure. When executing the query, a dump occurs with a very explicit explanation. Unfortunately, I don't know how to solve it.

Different Vendor Payment in same Document Number....?

If any one aware of this case please Revert back.
Client Requirement:
Different vendors payment they are giving one single check (RTGS) to Bank.bank will transfer the money to Particular Vendors Account.
In our System we can create Payment Batch but system will generate the check (Document Number) for each vendor.(We are issuing only single check)
Is it possible to make the Payment batch through one single check for Multiple vendors........?

This is the result of a preference setting. In the General section of the prefs set the radio button for "When Scaling:" to "Apply to Content" instead of "Adjust Scaling Percentage" and the values will reflect their true dimensions. In tyhe meantime you can select the object and open the menu on the end of the Control panel and choose Reset Scaling to 100% to reflect the actual weights.

Bex query-KEY date for time dependent objects

I have one infoobject called 0customer that has one time dependent attribute .called status. I would know how the system works in the following senario for the a given key date(which in bex properties).
question 1)
customer todate          fromdate    status
1            20071231     20070101     Y
1            20081231     20080101      N
1            20091231     20081101      X
can the data in the infoobject be overlapped? is the 3 rd record is valid in the above example - as months(11&12of2008) overlapping with second record? ? pls advise
question 2)
customer todate          fromdate    status
1            20071231     20070101     Y
1            20081231     20080101      N
1            20091231     20090101      X
If the keydate is 20080201 which record will it return?would it return the record that has status 'N'?
what does the keydate is compared against? is it with from date or todate or between fromdate and todate? does the query return only one customer record for a given customer when it runs in the query?

1) Normally you cannot activate the data with this constellation. If you have inconsistent master data you can repair with transaction RSRV.
2) The system returns N for key data 20080201.
