This is a typical front end issue where you have to look at your GUI
patch and front end patch.I recommend you deinstalling your frontend
installation as follows:
- Remove your frontend via 'START' - 'PROGRAMS' - 'SAP FRONTEND' -
   'REMOVE SAP FRONTEND'

Is it possible to provide an BEx Web Query with parameters based on iView?

Hi SAP Portal experts,
My knowledge of SAP Portal is limited and I ran into the following problem:
I have got about 60 BEx Web Queries which should be put into some sort of navigation. Furthermore I would like to intodruce one start page where the user can preselect common bex query variables (e.g. company code) by clicking on a map.
My approach was to put all query links into a BEx Web Application Template. The template includes a JavaScript storing the userdefined values in a cookie. As soon as the user clicks on a link the cookie values are read from that cookie and a query parameter string is set up like "&BI_COMMAND_1-BI_COMMAND_TYPE=SET_VARIABLES_STATE&BI_COMMAND_1-VARIABLE_VALUES-VARIABLE_VALUE_1-VARIABLE_TYPE=VARIABLE_INPUT_STRING&BI_COMMAND_1-VARIABLE_VALUES-VARIABLE_VALUE_1-VARIABLE_TYPE-VARIABLE_INPUT_STRING=2100&BI_COMMAND_1-VARIABLE_VALUES-VARIABLE_VALUE_1-VARIABLE=0P_COCD" and concatenated with the URL for the BEx Query.
My colleague wants me to put all this into SAP Portal and to create an iView for each BEx Query. How can I achieve that? I have already had a look at the iView property "parameters passed on to BEx Web Application". If I put my parameter string there, it works fine. However, I would like to replace VARIABLE_INPUT_STRING=2100 and VARIABLE=0P_COCD with the values selected by the user by clicking on the map. So how can I set up a parameter or variable in one iView and read it in another iView with a BEx Web Query???

I have thought about this. There are some problems here....
I cannot use the same proxy to invoke the java callout and then based on the code or handler disable it, since
1) i would have no way to enable back the proxy again.
2) Also there is some amount of message loss.
So i will have to use another proxy to do the same, but in this case
1) what would be the trigger to this proxy?
2) And how often do i invoke the java callout to see if the URI is up or not? (wouldnt that affect the performance?)
I am just wondering why did they give an offline URI option in the business service and no similar option in the proxy service, Any Idea?

BEx Web iView displays graph only after page Refresh

Dear Friends,
I am facing problem in BEx Web application iView.
I am using the SAP Standard BEx Web iView template to call BI Report by passing parameter as below

The report got 2 graphical representations along with a table data.
Problem is the graphs displays data representation only after refreshing the page.
Infact the problem exists in production system and works fine in Development system.
When I checked from portal prospective I found no difference.
Can anybody help on this.

hi,
find the iview from the content administration menu in portal.
If you are using a standard role open the role
and trace the pages until you find the iview containing the template.
Open the iview and check the parameter Content-BW report.
At the field BEx Web Application Query String go to and and check the template name.
Go to web application designer and open the above template.
Change the parameters from the post above and save the web template as zXXXXX.
Change the web template at iview as well.
What i figured out is that bex handler has a problem creating an array when you are using same session for more than one charts.
When you use seperate sessions for each chart there is no need for array creation and works just fine.
*If you are using best practices go to Content Provided by SAP->Specialist->Best Practices and find the role and iview you are using.
It should work..

Error while loading the Web template "0ANALYSIS_PATTERN" (return value "4")

I activated all 0* objects in BTMP and checked that they are all activated, but I found errors when opening the BEx Web Analyzer
Error messages :

So I ran RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN_70 (0ANALYSIS_PATTERN) version D report to check and choose validate.

Template Include Item FOOTER_TEMPLATE unresolved or empty. Close and reopen template.
Width of object item:GROUP_ITEM:GROUP_ITEM_1 is very small (1amp;1)
Query does not exist in the BI System (Object QU )

BEx Web - Inserting Tabs with multiple Web Templates

I encounter much difficulty to find consistent information on how to create a Web cockpit (BW3.5) by making use of embedded Web Templates (using web template web item).
In particular,
- How to define tab pages?
- How to insert an HTML document in one of these tab pages or in the body of a single Web template?
I would be glad if you could give me links to helpful documentation or share your own experience.

Open a BEx Analyzer Workbook from a Web Application Template

Hello All,
I want to open a BEx Analyzer Workbook from a Web Application Template.
My vision is, that I have got a Button in my Web Application Template and when clicking on
it a Web Analyzer Workbook opens. The Analysis Item in the template and the Grid in the workbook are based on the same DataProvider. So you can open the report in web or in excel, but the people shouldn't open Excel separately when they use the web frontend.
I only found an export function, but this doesn't open a workbook. I couldn´t find a good solution here as well...

Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates

Hello,
when opening the web application designer or calling a web template in the browser the error Transformer exception while transforming BEx Web templates occours. I found several hints in the forum like solving the problem with the SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & SupportDesk Tool and several notes for this issue (like 937697). Unfortunately nothing works and the diagnostics tool says that everything is configured fine. The release is 701, SP4.
Has someone suggestions where to start searching the error?

Which JAVA patch are you using?
Is it possible to download the latest patches and re-test the problem? You may find that the latest patch corrects the roblem

Call a web template with default parameter in BEx Web Application D

In BEx Web Application Designer, As in traditional way. Assume that I have a query which have parameters. When I create a web template using this query and excute it. the first page is displayed and I should input the parameters at this page(for example: "Period/Fiscal"). after I input the data and press Enter key. the <b>reporting page</b> is displayed.
And Now I hope I can run the template at another way: the template should <b>direct go to the reporting page</b> with the preset parameters (for example: "Period/Fiscal = 2005.006").

Alternatively you may use command URL, to enforce the variable value during calling up the web template. For example:
http://yourAppServer:yourPort/SAP/BW/BEx?CMD=LDOC&template_id=yourTemplate&var_name_1=myParameterVariable&var_value_ext_1=4711
In the implementation you may create a web template that redirect the URL to above reporting link, so the user will directly see your reporting page.
For detail you may check in the WAD documentation.

Error when executing Planning function in BEx Web

ABEND BRAIN (178): Common entries are not permitted for plan queries and input queries

If i understood well, you have some problem with your query. Please check the query that you have on WAD and wich characteristics did you have on your level (the level on wich the query is based).
Pls, check the correct execution on that query on Query Designer too. That query is a plan query? it`s ready for input ?

Additional info: When I open the Web Template in Web Application Designer, I get some errors. I corrected some of them by reactivating the BI Content version, but some still remain.
Strangley the test system doesn't show the same behaviour although the Web Template are both active and not modified. (Opening BEx Web is working on test system.)

How to assign a Bex Web template to a role?

How to assign a web template to a role? I have created a role from PFCG but i dont see this role when i open the Bex Web application designer to assign the role using the menu option
choose Web Template --> Publish --> In Role.
what needs to be done to make the role available under the above menu?

How to Fix Table Header of Analysis Web Item in BEx Web Template

On the information you have supplied this has opened up yet another new part of WAD that I have not experienced ...TAGs
Shubhranshu - I have done what you said but as I have never used tags I have just had a look around and found that I can insert Any Tag but not sure if I should be doing that. If it is inert any tag , I chose FONT from the drop down and cbmAttributes defaulted into the custom tab for the class name but not sure what it wants in the Attributes and CSS Style tab, it won't accept what I am putting which is leading me to believe that I shouldn't be doing it that way.

I've had a look and although they talk alot about the XHTML code for tags they don't actually say how you do it in the editor - I would like to produce one that way first and then see the code it generates for it. I'm a bit apprehensive with changing the code direct as I don't want to mess anything up.

SY-UNAME is part of the text elements (Parameter SYUSER).

For SY-SYSID you would need to use the table-interface to get this information to the frontent.

Is there a standard BEx Web Template I can use for my planning (IP) query or is the norm just to make my own?
e.g. 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_PLANNING etc.

I found in BI7 Objects, there are BEx Web Template (BTMP) and Web Template (TMPL). what's the different between them? For the BEx Web Template (BTMP), i can find in Web Application designer.
But for Web Template (TMPL), I cannot find them in Web Application designer. How can I edit them?
for example, there is a standard Web Template (TMPL) 0tpli_0tct_mc01_q0111, where can I change it?

hello,
TMPL is for 3.5 template and BTMP is for BI 7.0 templates. For opening 7.0 template you need to use BI 7.0 WAD not 3.5 WAD.
you can open the standard template 0tpli_0tct_mc01_q0111 in WAD and then do save as to save it custom template.
Then you can edit the custom template and make the changes.
Make sure that the std. template is installed correctly.
