Bi publisher report, data table, column label displays last character

Hello all,
I have created various reports on BI Publisher (win2008 R2 64bit 11g (.1.1.5) version). After altering some access rights, all the reports that include data tables display only the last character of the column label. All the column data is reported correctly.
example:
- TotalNumber -
4234
234
4
became
- r -
4234
234
4
Any ideas about what is going on???
Thank you

Thanks for the suggestion Simon.
I just created a view based on the 46-column SELECT statement from dual above and then set "SELECT * FROM myview" as the Source Query.
Unfortunately I get exactly the same error.
Thanks,
Andy

  • How to use selectOneList in a updateable data table column

    Hi,
    Could someone tell me how to use selectOneList (source from a vo X) in an updateable data table column (from another vo Y)?
    I successfully created a page with the data table. However, strange things happened:
    1) the values populated on the selectOneList column don't match the underlying value in vo Y. in fact, every rows in the column got the same value.
    2) when I update one of the rows, the column value in every other rows turns to the new value.
    3) when I sort other columns in the table, the values shown in the selectOneList column get toggled between blank and some incorrect value.
    I believe it is something related to the fact that the same iterator is used to the source view object. If this is the case, how can I solve it?

  • URGENT Printing a BI publisher report from a column link in APEX

    I am developing an APEX report with a column link that will call a BI publisher report, the case is the link column in the APEX report will pass the item number to the BI publisher query.
    At the moment this is what I am doing:
    1- Create a hidden item on top of page zero. (e.g. PARAM1_VALUE)
    2- Create a report query and a report layout (For BI Publisher) in the Shared Components. (e.g ITEM_REPORT)
    3- Include the state session in the report query and reference that item in the query. (e.g. SELECT * FROM items where item_number = :PARAM1_VALUE)
    4- Create an APEX report displaying orders with the item number as a link column.
    5- In the Link column I set the report URL request to be "PRINT_SERVER=ITEM_REPORT".
    6- In addition I set the PARAM1_VALUE to be #ITEM_NUMBER# on the link.
    When I press on the link the BI publisher report prints but it doesn't display anything except the Headers, my understanding is that PARAM1_VALUE is not set with the item_number value when I press on the link and thus the query returns no results as when I remove the condition from the query i can see the report printing.
    Please help as this is urgent

    I opened the session and it is there with a proper value, it appears that whenever I enable the inclusion of session state in my shared components query the query returns no rows even if I am not using the item in the query.
    So if my query is "SELECT * FROM items" it will display nothing, the only way to get the report data back is to untick the inclusion of the session state and remove any reference to the item from my query, then I will get the report with all my data (which is NOT what I am trying to do).

  • BIG CONCERN for data table columns bound to property.

    Here the issue.
    I have a data table with many columns of which:
    1/ first group bound directly to database table columns.
    2/ Second group bound indirectly to database table columns through properties (I need some extra formatting depends on the data of the database tables columns).
    When I display the page the first time it appears correct but when I go back to the page previously displayed the second group columns all get the last value of the bound properties.
    What I guess is:
    - The first group of columns get data from database.
    - The second group of columns just get the value of the properties they were bound , the getXXXXXX method does not get called again because the page was already loaded ?..So my second group displayed with the wrong data (the last value of property they were bound to).
    BIG ISSUE.when I redisplay the previous page. For example I am on page 3 when I go back to page 1 or page 2 they display the wrong data
    Is it the way it supposed to work ? If so how to force the getXXXXXX method called again to get the right propertys value not the last propertys value?
    Thanks.

    Here is what I am trying to do (this is a real application not with Pointbase bundled with jCreator).
    I want to display a iSeries (AS/400) table in a data table but some columns I need to format suitably:
    For example: I have a few date columns in my database table are numeric fields not date fields so if its value is zero I dont need to display. What I do to display in data table is:
    1/ To bind its value to a property lets call it enteredDate of type java.sql.date
    public Date getEnteredDate() {
    Object o = getValue("#{dealDetaiSWAPl.dealRowSet1.currentRow['$SEND']}");
    return getMyDateFromDdMmYy(o); this method is to convert $SEND from numeric to Date field.
    2/ To bind rendered attribute to enteredDateRendered
    public boolean isEnteredDateRendered() {
    Object o = getValue("#{dealDetaiSWAPl.dealRowSet1.currentRow['$SEND']}");
    return dateRendered(o);
    public boolean isDateRendered(Object o) { /* This method I reuse elsewhere */
    int date = java.lang.Integer.parseInt(o.toString());
    if (date == 0)
    return false;
    else
    return true;
    When I display page 1 : it looks correct.
    Ex: date1..
    date2..
    date3..
    Display page 2: it looks correct.
    Ex: date4..
    date5..
    date6..
    Go back to page 1: all columns date have the same value of the first row
    Ex: date1..
    date1..
    date1..
    I did not change anything in page navigation method.
    By the way I notice that each time I go to table layout screen JSC deletes all components I added in the navigation gridPanel. So if I change something in them I have to restart the whole thing again.
    Can you give me your email I will send you screenshots of my application.
    Thanks.

    You can create SQL connection and use Datareader to read from SQL.Firs create a connection string and put this string in web application web.config file of your sharepoint site.
    Now use below code to call your connectionstring in your webpart.
    SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["ConnectionString"]);
    Here is link to read the data from SQL:

  • Open Table In Spreadsheet dropping last character

    I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0. When I export a table using the "Open Table In Spreadsheet" or do a cut and paste, the table pastes with the formatting retained, but the last character in each field is replaced with a question mark in a black diamond. Doesn't matter if it is numeric or text. I am using Microsoft Office XP. Does anyone else ever have this problem?

    Hi CtDave,
    Thanks for the reply.
    So a Tagged PDF would export better than an untagged PDF?
    It seems if you have an untagged PDF then you can't export well until Adobe X gets here.  Any idea when Adobe X will be available?
    I referenced this page http://www.planetpdf.com/enterprise/article.asp?ContentID=6067 to give myself an idea about tagged PDFs.

  • Data Table doesn't display

    Hi,
    My dataTable suddenly stopped displaying the values, which was working perfectly fine before.
    I have couple of more dataTables in the project which display the values perfectly.
    The dataTable is bound to a rowset, it display the empty rows(which are the equal to the number of row present in the rowset to which dataTable is bound to). It display correct number of rows but with out any text(emptry rows).
    I cant understand why? its driving me mad.
    I compared the properties of other dataTables which are working with one that doesn't, they are exactly the same except value.
    I have even made sure that I haven't set font color to white.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee reply ASAP.
    cheers

    Hi Sharth,
    Yes. Its a real weird behaviour.
    I haven't done ANY extracoding at all. All I did was bind the table to the rowset and select the table layout.
    I am able to bind the table to any rowset. change the table layout,etc...Surprisingly when I run the project, it doesn't show any errors either.
    Its driving me mad. I got get this working by tommorow.
    any help will greatly appreciated.

  • Customizing Audit Log Report - Adding/Removing Columns from Display

    Hi All -
    Has anyone tried adding/removing the columns from Out of Box Auditi Log report with minor customizations to the code/configuration files ? Right now , when the Audit Log report is executed, there are numbe of columns that appear on report (Server, Client IP etc) which are too technical for the client and requirement is remove some of these and add some more for the attributes that we are audit logging through Audit workflow service. If you have done something similar in the past, please provide me with some inputs. Any sample code, examples will be highly appreciated.

  • Need to create a report having 40 columns using XML Publisher

    Hi XML Report Gurus,
    I have a weird requirement. I need to create a XML Publisher Report having 40 columns. This report would be a CSV Report.
    How can i create a RTF(Template) in MS-Word having 40 columns ?? I just cannot accomodate the columns, they start wrapping down.
    Can i create a template in Excel and map the data columns to the Excel columns?
    I can create a Oracle PL/SQL package and generate the output, but I want to know if I can achieve the same thing using BI Reports.
    Appreciate your feedback
    Kiran Ramachandra
    [email protected] __.____._

    What I did, I had the column titles in the XML file as data, like
    <COL01>Employee Name</COL01>
    <COL02>Employee Number</COL02>
    etc.
    I did it this way because columns were variable, and up to the user to pick. If you have fixed set of columns, you still can include their names in the XML file, this way you will be able to display then as fields on the template.

  • HTML Data Table with cell-level inline messages?

    Hi all.
    I'm not suprised by this, but I am wondering if anyone has figured out a slick/elegant way around the "problem"
    Basically, the problem I want to solve is:
    how to get corresponding validation error messages to show up in the data table cell that contains the (editiable) ui component representing the "offending" value?
    The naive first approach would be simply to place an inline message component just before or after the corresponding data table column's row value presentation component.
    But obviously, this won't work, primarily because the inline message component id will not be unique (does not pick up the currentRow to make it unique) asd well as due to the issue of binding the inlineMessage component's "for" attribute to the correct row (as well as column).
    So, the naive first approach results in a thrown exception:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Duplicate component id: 'form1:personDataTable:firstNameValidationInlineMessage'
    Now, I know I could add "virtual" columns to my data table to hold validation errors so that they correspond to the correct row/columns and I know I can bind the rendered attribute, style etc, for corresponding presentation elements, but then I've basically side-stepped the whole faces message functionality built into the JSF framework.
    Also, if I have to use "virtual" columns, then I've complicated life for myself, since I ordinarily want to bind the data table to a list of bean instances (i.e. we are using hibernate persistence) or even a row set (difficulty setting a column value that is not updateable in data source, i.e. corresponds to no table/column and maybe involves dynamically adding "virtual" column to data cache?).
    Now, I know I can place a message list on the page instead (this is currently what I am doing), and I know I can change the application so that I provide a separate *single row" edit page, both of which provide a semi-adequate alternative.
    I like the first alternative (the one I'm using), because in-place editing of data table rows is so much more compact and elegant, both in terms of presentation and coding.
    Using this first alternative, I am currently adding to the validation error messages the currentRow attrubute so that users can see it an trace back to the corresponding row in the data table to correct the data entry.
    However, everyone, users, project drivers and developers (including myself), are grumbling a bit over such a "hackish" approach.
    Any thoughts? Am I missing something obvious?

    Well I'll be damned!
    What's done in the sample app is, of course, the intuitively obvious choice and is exactly what I started out trying to do the first time round.
    But as I mentioned before, when I first tried it (yes: I'm pretty sure I set the "for" attribute on the inlineMessage components), I got the non-unique component id exception for the inlineMessage component(s) after adding the second (but not the first) row to the page.
    Anyway, after dragging my inlineMessages to the exact same position as those in the AppModel example, now things work fine (except I think I'd like a line break before the message and to change the row/column styles so the values and messages line up properly...the look is rather ugly in the AppModel example when there are validation messages displayed).
    Not sure, but I'm thinking maybe there was an issue with where the inline message markup was placed, my first time through, relative to the data table value bound component and the column header facet?
    I was using the application view drag 'n drop feature the first time round and dragged the inlineMessage component to the spot just below the data table value bound component and hence just above the column header facet. In the AppModel example, OTOH, the inline messages are placed just after the column header facet.
    Of course, I will now try to duplicate the original exception.
    If I can (and it is an issue with placement), I will post back some sort of bug report or RFE. Otherwise, I'll post back declaring what a bone head I've been...;-)
    Anyway, thanks for the quick response, v.

  • Get ID from selected row in data table

    Hi!
    Does someone know how to get ID from row on which I click a button or link?
    getRowData() doesnt work!
    Or any other method in jsp or just something to get the ID from selected row?
    Thanks!!!

    Hi,
    I have a table with 3 columns, where column 1 represents the key, column 2 represents the data and column 3 displays the "details"-button. If you use
    String key =(String)outputText1.getValue();
    the variable key contains the key value of the row of the column in which the "details"-button was clicked. (outputText1 is the Output Text field of the first column).
    Problem with this is that the key Value must be displayed in the table but maybe it works if the OutputText Field is not rendered, too. If anyone has another (maybe nicer) solution for the problem i would be pleased to see it here.

    I don't think you need the f:ajax tag - you should be able to do the synchronization between the tables with the built-in partial page refresh functionality.
    Just define the partialTrigger property of the second table to point to the firsttable.
