Portal Url for BI Statistics - Urgent
Hi,
We have BI System and all statistics cubes installed.Can anyone let me know what is the standard URL in portal or where exactly can i find the information about this.
Thanks,
Arvind MHi Arvind,
I am not clear what exactly what are you looking for. Default url fro portal server will be
http(s)://<server_name>.domain.com:50000/irj
you need to have a authorized user to user this. Are you planning to host BI reports on Portal, then you need to have content and system admin roles. Check this with your Basis consultant. They will provide you required access.
You need to create a BI system in Portal and then create iview for BI reports.
Check this for further details
Hope this helps.<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3a/10fc3f0ac2c642e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">BI Integration</a> -

Urgent-How to run the BW Statistics Query?
Hi
we have recently installed the Techincal Content queries.We have about 43 queries Now i have to check the queries in Q before i approve them for transport to Prod.
I would really appreciate if anybody could give me a step by step procedure on how to test it.
ThanksHi Kiran,
I would suggest that you do some tests for a period of 1 week to ten days. In this period you should run some daily loads on your structures for which the Statistics has been activated.
Then on a daily basis you can run your queries like 0BWTC_C10_Q314 - WHM Use per InfoSource. In this query based on the selection of your infosource you can get the following informations
1. Different request ID's loaded into the Data targets.
2. the information on Data targets, like which are the data targets linked to the info source.
3. Date and time when loading into the Data targets happened.
4. Number of records transferred and added into the Data target...and much more.
After getting this Info you can check in the system if your test loads which you are doing on a daily basis matches this information or not.
You can do similar tests on Query usage for example where you can ruin certain queries in your system and see if the information is reflected in your queries.
For this u can use 0BWTC_C10_Q011 - OLAP Use per User.
Also donot forget that to refresh the statistics information you have to always reload your statistics cubes and this you should do via a process chain and schedule it atleast twice in a day so that every morning you get the refreshed information as to what was loaded the previous day.
You can also get a lot of relevant information from this link

Urgent Help Needed - Associating Statistics with User-Defined Functions
Hello,
We have an appication uses cost-based optimizer and uses a lot of TO_DATE and SYSDATE calls in FROM and WHERE clauses. For certain reasons, every call to TO_DATE and SYSDATE has been replaced by MY_TO_DATE and MY_SYSDATE respectively (which in turn call built-in functions). However, cost based optimizer is behaving strangely, which is understanble, based on the lack of user-defined functions statistics. I am under the impression that I should use something like:
ASSOCIATE STATISTICS WITH FUNCTIONS my_to_date DEFAULT SELECTIVITY ?;
ASSOCIATE STATISTICS WITH FUNCTIONS my_to_date COST (?,?,?);
ASSOCIATE STATISTICS WITH FUNCTIONS my_sysdate DEFAULT SELECTIVITY ?;
ASSOCIATE STATISTICS WITH FUNCTIONS my_sysdate COST (?,?,?);
but what should the values (?) be?. I guess I want to replicate TO_DATE and SYSDATE values, but how would I find out what they are? Thanks in advance...
P.S. I am also looking for workarounds (I cannot create a synonym for TO_DATE right?), so any help is welcome!!!Hi emmalou69 ,
You told your actual parameter is
5, 5, 7.3 and 'z'
so change your method like
public static int test(int x, int y, double d, char ch)
because 5 - int; 7.3- float or double; z is char.
your method returns
public static int.
so you should return only int variable. but in your code you mentioned double. it's not correct.
The original code should look like
public class rubbish
public static void main(String args[]){
rubbish f = new rubbish();
f.test(5, 5, 7.3 ,'z');
public static int test(int x, int y, double d, char ch)
int value;
x = 5;
y = 5;
d= 7.3;
ch = 'z';
value =((int) d + x + y + ch);
System.out.println( x + ch + d + y);
return value;
}//here int value of z is 122.
and int(7.3) is 7
so 7+5+5+122 = 139.3
but value =((int) d + x + y + ch); returns 139. because you convert double to int that is 7.3 to 7
If it is useful, rate me duke dollars,

Be sure you have statistics collected on the table. Anyway, I am not sure that Oracle will not do the FTS for this query even if curve_id and curve_date are indexed. -
Closing SKYPE URGENT TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE
All users should be aware that currently 3 out 5 methods that purport to close SKYPE DO NOT CLOSE IT.
1. LEFT Clicking the X in the top right corner of the SKYPE application DOES NOT EXIT SKYPE.
2. LEFT Clicking SKYPE then CLOSE of the SKYPE application menu DOES NOT EXIT SKYPE.
3. RIGHT Clicking the SKYPE ICON in the Task Bar and left clicking CLOSE DOES NOT EXIT SKYPE.
But ...
RIGHT Clicking the SKYPE ICON in the Task Bar and left clicking QUIT SKYPE DOES EXIT SKYPE.
RIGHT Clicking the SKYPE ICON in the Task Bar and left clicking SIGN OUT DOES EXIT SKYPE
It should be obvious that this is a security breach waiting to happen and it could be argued in a court of law that Skype are deliberately or negligently putting users at risk of hijacked accounts and loss of privacy, possibly in order to claim higher online numbers in order to increase marketing statistics such as users online. I urge Skype directors to instruct developers without further delay to conform to standard menu definitions such that CLOSE means CLOSE and X closes the Application. You should also consider a timeout LOCKING option. Internet cafe situations arise where a user thinks they have safely EXITED and closed the application but predators can hijack their account, change passwords, and make unauthorised telephone calls.
I am an IT professional and I find these matters totally unacceptable. As previously stated History Management and Recent Contacts persistince and contact's Icons in Skype Home without options to selectively remove them are also lacking in usability features that jeopardise Privacy.
I request urgent action on these points.
Best wishes,
AtoZHello.Im not a developer.
.i just use skype. I really dont care
about an x an o, or a $ sign.
you are both petty in your thinking.
and I dont use Windows..I use Linux.
and I just quit when im done...
and it logs out automatic.
I think you both made a big deal about nothing.

Thanks Ozy,
The query is using joins instead of subquery. The statistics are latest. the query is using indexes too.the optimzer_mode is all_rows.
Now, you tell me what hint i should use to optimize this query?
Thanks and Regards,
MSORAHmm, urgent, immediately, its not Support MSORA. Be patient while asking for help or if its really urgent, open an SR with support.
Your query is not able to be read. Format it using the { code }( without spaces) and post it. Also there is no such thing that you can just put any hint and query will be tuned. Trace your query with 10046 trace( search this forum for that) and paste its output here.

How to improve performance in reporting side?
Query Performance Techniques:
1. Check Query propertiesUse RSRT tcode
2. Check whether cube is compressed
3. Optimize query definition
4. Analyze query execution
5. Check for additional indexes
6. Archive unwanted data
7. Check for partitioning options
8. Check for additional aggregates ( Consider DB ratio and KPI ratio)
9. Check for parallelization options
10. Use Nav attributes instead of hierarchies, use free char and filters.
Possible causes for the performance :
A) High Database Runtime
B) High OLAP Runtime
C) High Frontend Runtime
Depending upon your analysis
A)Strategy - High Database Runtime
Check if an aggregate is suitable (use All data to get values "selected records to transferred records", a high number here would be an indicator for query performance improvement using an aggregate)
Check if database statistics are update to data for the Cube/Aggregate, use Tcode RSRV output (use database check for statistics and indexes)
Check if the read mode of the query is unfavourable - Recommended (H)
B)Strategy - High OLAP Runtime
Check if a high number of Cells transferred to the OLAP (use "All data" to get value "No. of Cells")
a) Use RSRT technical Information to check if any extra OLAP-processing is necessary (Stock Query, Exception Aggregation, Calc. before Aggregation, Virtual Char. Key Figures, Attributes in Calculated Key Figs, Time-dependent Currency Translation) together with a high number of records transferred.
b) Check if a user exit Usage is involved in the OLAP runtime?
c) Check if large hierarchies are used and the entry hierarchy level is as deep as possible. This limits the levels of the hierarchy that must be processed.
C)Strategy - High Frontend Runtime
1) Check if frontend PC are within the recommendation (RAM, CPU Mhz)
2) Check if the bandwidth for WAN connection is sufficient.
