BIA Test: Suggestion for creating enormousTest Data for Infocubes

Hi,
I need to create some enormous amount of data for infocube in order to test BIA.
I don't think my basis team will allow me to load data from Production to Sandbox and moreover production has less than 250 millions records.
Any suggestion for 250 million records?

Hello,
Just an idea. If you can load a minimum of data for your cube then it is easy.
You just have to generate for your cube for instance a datasource and then create some update rules to loop on your data.
a. generate export datasource
b. map it to your infosource
c. define some update rules to ensuere your data will be different. For example in the start routine.

Suggestions on creating a data visualization solution

Hello All,
A website provides to its surfers some data (statistics actually) in form of .xls documents.The data is actually some stats like say in one excel that covers one social welfare scheme you would have one row for a state/region of a country and different columns like Total money allocated by the federal govt, TM sanctioned by a regional govt, Money allocated to a city authority , money that actually went to the end user.. stuff like that. The columns run to many in some cases and there is different kinds of such data.
After I came in touch with this data I realised that the hard work done by the guys who gathered this data, gets ignored because of not so friendly data format. The end user is supposed to crunch numbers and that too after labouring between the excel cells. I am thinking of some way in which this data could be made more presentable. I was suggested by a developer friend to check if flex could be used and thats how I arrived here.
I myself work on Linux based systems and have also coded in Perl. I can't pay for the licensed version of Flex with IDE so I will go for SDK.
Could you guys could tell me if flex would be the right choice for the this kind of problem, in which case I would dig further to study Flex and AS.

This is really an infographic design problem rather than just one of pure technology. Flex could help you or you could use Flash, but you need to look to using good inforgaphics with a drill down capability. It's not straight-forward. There is no magic-bullet capability in Flex to make this data easily accessible.

I'm seeking suggestions to create a data message playback system

I am working with a data message table and want to playback the data with timed, FFw, Rev or pause functions.
Details:
Table contains different messages like rows in a spreadsheet.
Each message row is sent one at a time and is comprised of binary hex data that must be decoded and displayed on the screen.
I'd like to use event structures to step through the data and view the decoded messages.
Does anyone have example vi's that may solve my problem or provide direction?

Thank you for posting in our forums. LabVIEW is a very powerful and versatile tool that should be able to accomplish some of your tasks. First, I just want to clarify some things about your issue. With this data message playback, is there a specific file format that you were looking to use? Or were you just looking to display the results back on the screen? If your data is stored in a spreadsheet file, then I'm assuming you have some sort of two-dimensional array of data. You can use some of the array functions, such as Index Array, to pull out each row on each iteration of a while loop and act on that data. This action can include performing a conversion from the binary hex data into whatever specific format you are trying to use. We have functions like the typecast function and other format conversion functions in the String/Conversion Palette of VI's that can help accomplish this task.
You should be able to use a simple user interface that has a button for each playback action. Each of these buttons can be tied to a specific event in an event structure. Using the appropriate converted data format, you can have each of these events perform whatever actions or display with your data depending on the button that is pressed. Was this the type of functionality that you were looking for? If you wouldn't mind elaborating a little bit more on your steps, I would be able to give you more detail to push you along a more specific path. I hope that I'm understanding you correctly. Load Test Results - time series request data for by URL in VS2013

I am trying to figure out how to export and then analyze the results of a load test, but after the test is over it seems I cannot find the data for each individual request by url. This data shows during the load test itself, but after it is over it seems
as if that data is no longer accessible and all I can find are totals. The data that I want is under the "Page response time" graph on the graphs window during the test. I know this is not the response time for every single request and is probably
averaged, but that would suffice for the calculations I want to make.
I have looked in the database on my local machine (LoadTest2010, where all of the summary data is stored) and I cannot find the data I'm looking for.
My goal is to plot (probably in excel) each request url against the user load and analyze the slope of the response time averages to determine which requests scale the worst (and best). During the load test I can see this data and get a visual idea but when
it ends I cannot seem to find it to export.
A) Can this data be exported from within visual studio? Is there a setting required to make VS persist this data to the database? I have, from under Run Settings, the "Results" section "Timing Details Storage" set to "All individual
details" and the Storage Type set to "Database".
B) If this data isn't available from within VS, is it in any of the tables in the LoadTest2010 database where all of the summary data is stored?

Since the load test is used to
simulate many users accessing a server at the same time, it is mainly verify a wev server load stress.
As you said that you want to find the data
for each individual request by url, I know that generally we can analyze the url request from the Summary like the following screen shot.

I suggest you can try to add the
SQL Tracing Connect String in the Run Setting properties to trace the data.

There will not be any updates /deletes on the table.
I have created a partitioned table with same struture and i am inserting the records from my original table to this partitioned table where i will maintain data for 6 months.
After loading the data from original table to archived table i will truncating the original table.
If my original table is partitioned then what about the restoring of the data??? how will restore the data of last month???

Suggestions for most efficient way to create a second app or site with minor rebranding

I've been asked to create a new Foundation 2010 ite that's going to be 90% the same site as one for another division. The current website uses custom masterpages and some other customization. My understanding is that the differences are going to be a different
URL and some minor branding stuff. THey are external presence sites. I don't believe it's using search or much else in the way of services, custom wsps, etc. Very simple sites.
I'm thinking of backing up the dbs, restoring using different mdf/ldf and db names, creating a new app and attaching, but not sure if the GUIDs will conflict. I'm also thinking that what the masterpages call in _layouts may need to be changed, which should
be pretty simple.
Anything I'm overlooking?
Also, apologies for using apps and sites interchangeably, I'm aware of the differences. I was actually asked to create a new site and assign a new URL to it, but if that's doable it sounds more complex to me.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to create a second app or site with minor rebranding.
I recommend to create a test environment for existing production enviroment.

garageband : create & edit audio. add 1400x1400 image.
share to itunes.
drag file to desktop.
upload .m4a file to google drive.
create a link post in wordpress using "podcast" tag & create "podcast" category.
click on "entries rss" in wordpress, which takes me to the rss subscribe page (which is basically just my wordpress address with "/feed" at the end.
i copy this url.
go to itunes store > then "submit a podcast"
itunes gives me the error message "we had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed."
when i try to subscribe to my podcast in itunes, it does, but gives me no episodes available.
i went back into wordpress and changed settings/ reading settings to : "full text" from "summary"
still the same error message.
i added a feedburner step after wordpress but got the same errors. i don't think i should have to add feedburner.
wordpress seems to be encapsulating the rss, what am i doing wrong?
this so much easier when you could go directly from garage band to iweb to mobileme; i miss those apple days (also idisk).

I'm trying to figure out a way to create a cartoonish looking whispy smoke. I've played with Trapcode Particular and that creates some very realistic looking smoke, probably too realistic. I've played with CC Particle World, and also tried painting the smoke and then animated it on with a mask and a stroke set to reveal the original based on the mask. Nothing really gets close to what I'm looking for. Here's a sample of the client's original art:

Can´t create a date attribute for basic asset

I created a basic asset where I want to have a date attribute to pick up a date for calendar.
My question is: How can I create a date attribute for a basic asset? For what I understand I have to create an element attribute in my descriptor file like this

It seems that the table does not have the entries, maybe b/c we are on R3 4.7. Could you tell me what the entries are suppossed to be to allow the Asset and Cost Center lookup? The search does work for WBS element though and I don't see anything specific to WBS element in that table. In any case if you know the entries that would be great, also this table is not modifiable via SM30, here are the entries that I have in that table.

How do I create a data set ready for a batch input session

I don't know how to create a data set ready for an BATCH-INPUT SESSION.I know that with the function BDC_INSERT make de input online, but my requirement is that generate the data set and left to the user get in de SM35 transaccion and decide to him if it's execute or not. I have all the information in a BDCDATA table.
Any clue would be great!!

You just have to do:
BDC_OPEN_GROUP (Open new batch)
BUILD BDC DATA (Your own code)
BDC_INSERT (Insert BDC data you have built in step 2)
BDC_CLOSE_GROUP (Close batch)
This will just create a new batch and it can be processed in SM35.
To build BDC data:
LOOP AT your_input_table.
<<here you have to use the code generated from recording in trasaction SHDB>> (i.e. bdc_dynpro and bdc_field performs)
ENDLOOP.
