Bind multiple fields to one node in data view

I have a need to have an interactive form where data from a single data source is displayed in multiple fields on the form. In addition these fields are open for input. I have bound the multiple fields on the form to one node in the data view. The data is being displayed in the multiple fields. This form is being routed thru workflow so various agents are updating the form. The problem that I am having is that the form only seems to allow input in the first field on the form but not the other fields that are tied to the same data source. For example, field A and field B are bound to node SUMMARY. I can add/change/delete data in field A but not in field B. After I have done some entry in field A, I can then sometimes make changes in field B. We have a requirement that field A be enabled for agent #1 but field B is invisible. Later in the workflow, agent #2 needs to make final changes on a "summary" page so agent #2 had field B enabled.
Does anyone have any idea how to correct this data entry issue so that data can be entered into either field that is tied to a single node?

Having multiple fields in the backend is not an option. I will not go into the business reason in detail but the last page of the form contains a final version of data pulled from various locations on the form where the data on the other pages was input by multiple agents in the process flow. The last agent in the workflow needs to put the "finishing touches" to the data and should not have to search all over in the form to find the appropriate data fields.
I have found 2 possible solutions and would like to know if anyone can recommend one over the other.
First solution - bind multiple fields on the form to one node in the data view. This seems to work correctly on the form and data can be entered into either field, with the data being passed back to the webdynpro context in the one node in the data view (corresponding node in WD context).
Second solution - the node/attribue in the WD context must have the same name as a DDIC element. The node in the data view must have this same name. The field names on the form must also have the same name. Define the binding for the field names as Global. I have not validated that the data is passed back to the WD.

Copy text from multiple fields to one field

I would like to copy text from multiple fields into one field. Each of these smaller fields will only be allowed to have one character. The larger field will not be able to be edited.
So far, I have thought of creating a naming heirarchy for these fields. I was going to then call upon the array of the parent and set the value of the parent to equal this array.

The code sample you provided is using AcroForm scripting and will not work in this form. There is another post similar to this one...have a look at this one it might help you out. It is doing the opposite of what you want but the concept of the loop and how each field is addressed inside ofthe loop is what you wil need.

Formula to combine multiple fields on one column

Hi All,
How do you create a formula in the formula editor that allows you combine several fields onto one column. An example: if I wanted to combine a street address onto one column when it is several fields in the data base. I know I need to seriously work on my coding, because it probbably is not that difficult. I've tried slect statementw with Case True and different If then else statements, but I am not getting all of value to return.

Hi Kyle,
To avoid null values you need to convert "Default values for nulls" in the formula editor.
Edit your formula
{database.field1} + " " + {database.field2} + " " + {database.field3}
and in formula editor at the top you can see a dropdown list with "Exception for nulls" change this and select "Default values for nulls"
Now you can avoid the nulss in output

Can't get field labels to display above for multiple fields in one cell

I've tried searching for how to fix this to no avail. I'm new to Apex and I'm trying to get 5 fields on one line with labels above each: salutation, first name, middle initial, last name and title. I've set New Line and New Field to No for all but the first item. With the labels for each field set to Right, everything displays on one line. With the labels set to Above, fields are displayed on separate lines and I'm not sure why. There are other fields on the form as well but they are each on their own line. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My Apex version is 4.1.1.00.23. I'm running the standalone Apex Listener (current version from 7/12) with a 10g database.

have you tried to set New Field to Yes? If that doesn't work, a test case on apex.oracle.com would be great. That's the easiest way to show you how it works.

Multiple fields on one line on an interview screen?

I need to implement an interview screen with lines on the form:
"Enter income for 2012 [inputfield] [income2011] [income2010]"
The user should be able to input the income for 2012 in an editable field and on the same line after the input field, two non editable fields should show the income for the previous years 2011 and 2010. These values are available from a database.
I am unable to find any hints on how to do this - when the fields are to be shown on the same line...

Having multiple fields on a single line cannot be configured in the screens file out-of-the-box. It sounds like something which could be done with a custom property though, so you'll need a technical person involved.

How does one close extra data views?

When opening a particular project, there is a point in the process where a bunch of blank-graph data-view windows appear and disappear. Finally when the project finishes opening, there is only one data-view tab open/visible but if I click on the Menu --> View --> Data View item, I see all the extra "views". How can these extra views be deleted or otherwise eliminated?

If I understand this right (and I may not because I had not seen SignalExpress before yesterday when I got called in to help with it, because I do know LabVIEW) if I do what you suggest, then the primary data-view tab gets blown away (possibly taking all the extras with it). That would seem to remove the ability to view acquired data without first having to manually setup a new data view tab. I don't want to do that. I want to keep the primary data view tab and only dump the extras. Here (attached) is the somewhat tedious process I came up with to eliminate the extra data-view windows. I was hoping that there was a more expeditious way of doing this.

Mapping one node in a view context to many nodes in the component controlle

Hi guys,
I need to map an element (attribute) of a node in the View Context to an attribute of multi nodes of the same type:
Context View:
customer_no
      |
      | -> KUNNR
Component Controller Context having two nodes:
- Node1
     RFC1
        |
        |->KUNNR
- Node2
      RFC2
         |
         |->KUNNR
Above I need to map the (KUNNR) in customer_no node to KUNNR in the RFC1 RFC2 before i execute the two RFCs services.
Note:
if this is not possible would you mention another solution.

   As per MVC you cannot map context from view controller to component controller.Mapping can happen from component
controller to view controller.
You cannot create mapping for context attributes. You can map nodes if both source node and destination node both has same structure and same number of attributes. If they dont contain same number of attributes the extra attributes from the source node gets copied to the destination node.
In your case before the RFC execution you can read the value of attribute Kunnr from view and set it the RFC attribute Kunnr before the Function module execution.

Binding multiple objects into one

I'm creating a form, and i already have 5 drop down boxes that are bound to 5 other text boxes that generate numbers based on each selection. This gives me a 10 digit number for purchasing. (2 digit- 1 digit - 4 digit - 2 digit - 1 digit) My question is, can one text box be bound to the 5 drop down boxes, so that when it generates that number, its all in one single text box and can be selected for copying and pasting in another program?

I'm still very confused about this. Here is exactly what I need.
I have 4 drop down lists:
COMPANY_INPUT
BRANCH-DEPARTMENT_INPUT
GL_ACCOUNT_INPUT
SEGMENT_OF_GL_INPUT
I have 1 text box:
gl_line_number_output
Each drop down list has data binding to spit out a numbered code. I have each drop down list bound to a different text field. What I want to do is direct the bound data from all 4 drop down lists into one text field instead of seperate ones, listing the bound data in succession, to create a complete account number from all 4 drop down lists. The name of the text field I would like the binding to be directed to is called gl_line_number_output.
I've just started using the LiveCycle software and need someone to write a code exactly as it would appeare if I were to copy and paste it onto script editor.

How can I have text from multiple fields on one layer, copy to one field on another layer?

A little help please as it's been years since I've done any coding of any sort.
So I have a 4 page document with various field types. I have a document script that gets "TodaysDate" that works perfectly and a few other scripts as well.
So what I'm trying to do is find a work around for the following:
I have 3 fields - SURNAME, FIRSTNAME & dob.
And I want what is typed into these fields to populate into 1 field. And according to this tutorial (http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-pdf-acrobat-javascript) it's not exactly possible. At least I think that's what it says.
However I'm hoping that maybe I could have a Submit button at the end of that document that when clicked would copy the text from those 3 fields (that I would have on 1 layer) into 1 field on a 2nd layer. Is that even possible??
I'd also like to have the document Print, Save (using the text in the field on the 2nd layer as the file name), Email (using the text in the field on the 2nd layer as the subject line) and Export to a specific Excel spreadsheet.
I don't want much do I?
I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro on a Windows PC but also have access to Acrobat 8 Professional. And I'm going to want the form to run in Acrobat Reader X.
So far I have for the 3 fields into 1 on another layer:

Sorry Gilad. I hope I'm not getting on your nerves (too much) but as I said it's been a while since I did any formal code. And I'm trying to do this code for a work document but I'm doing it in amongst so many other things I do for my job that it's difficult to get the time to concentrate for longer than 5 mins.
I didn't get a chance to try that code until just now. I guess I asked again as I thought (from what I'd read) that it wouldn't be that simple.
So I've added that code and I get no errors. But it doesn't appear to be doing anything either. I've added the code like this in the Custom calculation script of a separate field I've called FileName. And on the Button i'm using I've added: buttonClick()

Add Text From Multiple Fields Into One

I'm creating a form in Acrobat 9 that lets you fill in information for four cars. For each of the four cars, there is a text box for Manufacturer, Model, and Year. I have the boxes labeled Manuf1, Mod1, Year1, Manuf2, Mod2, etc.
Then I two other text boxes called Text1 and Text2. In Text1 I want all the manufacturers listed together( example: Ford, Chevy, BMW) and the same thing for the models in Text2. What would be even better would be if in Text1 and Text2 the names could be seperated with "or".
Is there a javascript that can do this and not repeat a name (if, for example, the first two cars were both Ford, the third was BMW and the fourth was Chevy, I want Text1 to display: Ford or BMW or Chevy, not: Ford or Ford or BMW or Chevy)?

I'm dealing with two tables that aren't directly related in my database. My Sales Order Release table and my Shipping Items table. There is a foreign key in the Shipping Items Table for the Sales Order Release. However that key is: sorels.fsonosorels.finumbersorels.frelease So, it's a concantenated field. How do I link this key called FSOKEY in my Shipping Items table to those fields in my Sales Order Release table(sorels)? Is this a situation where I'd have to build the SQL Query myself and put it in as an "Add Command"?

Dave, Build the SQL Query in Query analyzer and using the "Add Command" to paste in the code. I've done some thing like this with the ARITEM, ARMAST, and SORELS tables to create an invoiced Sales report. So far ARTIEM is the hardest table i've worked with because of the way the data is in the fields for FSOKEY and FSHIPKEY , etc.....

Can I bind multiple field values to a single field?

Here's the scenario: I have a form with 2 pages. On the first page, there are three fields for a person's first, middle, and last name. On the second page, there's a field that just says "Name". I want the user to fill out the first, middle and last name fields, and then have the "name" field on the second page reflect all three fields from the first page. How can I accomplish this?

Add client-side script to the calculate event on the name field on page 2 to concatenate the name fields on page 1. For JavaScript, something like this:

Multiple users access one iPhoto library and view and edit

I have 3 Macs and 5 users in our family. I'd like to have one iPhoto library that any user can access from any of the machines and view and/or edit. I don't need simultaneous access (which from reading posts I can see is not possible in iPhoto).
If I move the library to external HD will I be able to access the libary from each Mac over Wi-Fi? From what I read I'd need to hold ALT when opening iPhoto in each user account, on each Mac, and choose the library on the external drive.
If I set it up like this then once photos imported any user can see them, and edit if they want to? Presumably any Projects would be in the one central library rather tan being specific to a particular user?

the hard drive that the iPhoto sits on must be formatted Mac OS extended (jorunaled)
iPhoto is not a multi user program and if two different people edit atthe same time it will not wrok correctly
Most importantly WiFi is not a reliable connection and has many dropouts - if you edit over WiFi you are highly likely to lose data and corrupt yoru library - it is not a good idea - viewing is slow but will work

MS Project 2007 - Help with custom field calculation for grouped by dates view

I am trying to creat a view that counts number of students in courses (while # Students is a custom field that is filled manually and courses are tasks).
The view should be grouped by Quarters, Months, and weeks (Calculated custom Text fields)
The weeks groups are displayed by the start day of each week.
For example:
The view counts how many students are in courses in a specific week/month/quarter.
This is the group by definition:
Those are the fields calculations:
“WW_Start” field calculation:
(Year([Start]) & " W " & Format([Start],"WW") & " " & "   [" & Datevalue(ProjDateSub([Start],CStr(Weekday([Start])-1),"Standard")) & "]")
“MM” field calculation:
Year([Start]) & " M " & Format([Start],"MM")
Basically it works but it doesn't cover a situation where a course is more then a week.
Lets say that the duration of the task is 12 days, the task should appear on 3 different weeks groups.
But what i did puts the tasks only in the group that shows the first week of the task.
How can i change my calculations or my view so that in the second, and third week of the task it will also show the task and it's attributes.
For example:
- "UV5 ACM" task should also be in W 45 not just W 44.
Anyone has an idea how to do that?

I think you understood correctly what is my issue.
Second, about your question: the class have the same number of students during the course period.
It will have 10 students even if the duration is 1 day or 10 days.
if you look at the basic gantt chart you will see a row like this:
Task name        Duration        Num_Students     Resource names (Instructors)
Course YYY       10d                10
Instructor X
it is an attribute on the task, not the assiment.
When i group by dates (Weeks, months, quarters) or by another field (can be course type for example) i the students are summed in the task summary level for all tasks.
Lets say i group by all the tasks (Classes) that are in the 1st quarter, and lets say for the example that there are 3:
Task 1 --> 5 students
Task 2 --> 10 students
Task 3 --> 7 students
Then, the group by summary should count:
Quarter 1 - 2014:   22 (students)
Task 1 --> 5
Task 2 --> 10
Task 3 --> 7
By the way, it doesn't matter if the version is project 2007,2010, 2013, the logic is the same.
Hope it helps and i'll be glad to have some ideas or evan get examples for solution in a project file by e-mail.
