Binding node value from public var

Hi,
I am developing an interface between an axis web service and flex.
I must create a custom soap message, so I have define:
CDATA
[Bindable] public var name:String = "PRUEBAS";
<mx:request xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
xmlns:loc="http://XXXXXXXXX/"
xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
format="xml">
<loc:DarWeb soapenv:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
<in0 xsi:type="loc:Elem" xmlns:dat="http://XXXXXX">
<original xsi:type="xsd:string">{name}</original> IT DOES NOT TAKE THE VALUE OF THE BINDING VAR
</in0>
Please, someone who knows how to get the value of the var?
PD: In compilation time I have the next warning: "data binding will not be able to detect assignments to ..."
Thanks in advance
Fran

Thanks for your reply williams. I will try to explain better.
I have an action script class called Name with the next attribs:
public class Name
[Bindable] public var name:String;
[Bindable] public var ape1:String;
[Bindable] public var cp:String;
public function Name()
//nothing initialize
In my mxml I have
<mx:Script>

[Bindable] public var nombre:Name = new Name();

</mx:Script>
And the last code that are involve in my problem is the next one:
<mx:WebService id="webService" wsdl="XXXX (local wsdl)" showBusyCursor="true">
<mx:operation name="getNames"
resultFormat="e4x"
result="handleResponse(event);"
fault="handleFault(event);">
<mx:request xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
xmlns:name="http://XXXXXXX"
xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
format="xml">
<name:getNames soapenv:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
<in1 xsi:type="name:Name" xmlns:name="http://XXXXXX">

<ape1 xsi:type="xsd:string">{nombre.ape1}</ape1>
<cp xsi:type="xsd:string">{nombre.cp}</cp>
</in1>
</name:getNames>
</mx:request>
</mx:operation>
</mx:WebService>
I can not retrieve class attribute´s values, so the xml nodes are null.
Thanks a lot for those who reply.

Are you talking about using Xpath on the XML document and assigning to a

• How to get the Node Value from XmlValue result?

Hi ,
I am not able to get the Node Value from the result. In my XQuery im selecting till a Node, if i change my query as
collection('PhoneBook')/phone_book/contact_person/address/string()", qc);
im getting the node value, but here the problem is its not a Node so i cannot get the Node name.
So how can i get the Node Name and Node value together?
any help please ????
XML :

<phone_book>
<contact_person>

<first_name>Michael</first_name>
<second_name>Harrison</second_name>

176 Ganesan street, Janakinagar, alwarthirunagar

</contact_person>
<phone_number type="mobile">9881952233</phone_number>
<phone_number type="home">044-24861311</phone_number>
<phone_number type="office">080-12651174</phone_number>
</phone_book>
Code:
XmlQueryContext qc = manager.createQueryContext();
XmlResults rs = manager.query
("collection('PhoneBook')/phone_book/contact_person/address", qc);
while(rs.hasNext()){
XmlValue val = rs.next();
System.out.println(val.getNodeName() + " = [ " + val.getNodeValue() + " ] ");
Output
address = [ ]

You are right, this seemed un-intuitive to me too, but I finally understood how it's done.
The "value" of a node is actually the total amount of text that is not contained in any of the node's child nodes (if any). So a node with child nodes can still have text value.
To get the 'value' of an element node, you must therefore concatenate the values of all children of type "XmlValue::TEXT_NODE", of that node. Try it.
In your example, the
node has no child elements, my guess is that BDB XML stores the address string "176 Ganesan street, Janakinagar, alwarthirunagar" inside a child node of
node (of type XmlValue::TEXT_NODE) because you wrote the string on a separate line.

• Extracting node value from XPath Expression in OSB Conditional Branch

HI All
While using conditional branch in OSB,i only get an XPath Expression editor to set a variable used to test a condition.
Now let's say my request is

<exam:PersonSearchReq xmlns:exam="http://www.example.org">
<exam:RequestorSSO>James</exam:RequestorSSO>
</exam:PersonSearchReq>

I write my XPath expression as :
./exam:PersonSearchReq/exam:RequestorSSO/text()
Now if I test this using the tester application , insted of getting node value 'James' ,i get the entire node element ,i.e
<exam:RequestorSSO xmlns:exam="http://www.example.org">James</exam:RequestorSSO>
Please suggest how can i extract the text value.
Regards,
Chinmay

Hi Guys
Actually it turns out that you need to populate In-Variable to function is correctly.As soon as i entere 'body' in it,it worked fine.
Thanks

• Returning a node value from a BPEL process in a JSP.

HI,
I have a problem in that I want to extract the value of a node ie /auto:loanOffer and display it in a JSP.
Could you possibly tell me if I should use
com.collaxa.xml.XPathUtils.selectNodes or getVariableData or something else.
If possible, could you provide a sample code snippet as I am new to jsp/bpel.
Thanks alot
Joel.

Use a result set that returns 1 column that is a clob: Sample code below:
create table tData (xId number, xData clob)
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE clobTest AS
type typeRefCursor is ref cursor;
FUNCTION getData(pId in varchar2) RETURN typeRefCursor;
END;
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY clobTest AS
FUNCTION getData(pId in varchar2) RETURN typeRefCursor is
cursor cData is
select xData
from tData
where xId = pId;
dataLob clob; -- holds the data from the table
outLob clob; -- hold the return data
rc typeRefCursor; -- return ref cursor
BEGIN
-- prepare the output lob
dbms_lob.createTemporary(outLob,TRUE);
dbms_lob.open(outLob,dbms_lob.lob_readwrite);
-- write the start of the output data
dbms_lob.writeAppend(outLob,13,'<data value="');
-- get the data from the table
open cData;
fetch cData into dataLob;
if (cData%found) then
-- append the data to the end of the output lob
dbms_lob.copy(outLob,dataLob,dbms_lob.getLength(dataLob),dbms_lob.getLength(outLob)+1,1);
end if;
close cData;
-- write the closing data tag
dbms_lob.writeAppend(outLob,9,'"></data>');
-- now return the ref cursor with a single column as the lob
open rc for select outLob from dual;
return rc;
END;
END;
Sample code and everything! YOu can buy me a drink next time you're in Chicago.

But how do I get the values inside nodes? I tried with getNodeValue() but then the only output I get is null. Can someone plz help me with this?

Try this:
/** Lists a node and its childs */

• BPEL assign count and node value from xml

I have mapnames.xml in the project with nodes like this:
<mapname>STATUS_DIMS_LOAD</mapname>
<mapname>MOVEMENT_DIMS_LOAD</mapname>
The xml of mapnames will be used for an input variable for a FlowN invoke.
Trying to count the number of mapnames in the xml document and put in a variable.
<assign name="getMapNamesN">
<copy>
<from expression= *"count(bpws:getVariableData('... ? " />*
<to variable="FlowN_Dims_Count"/>
</copy>
</assign>
Then use that in the FlowN
<bpelx:flowN name="FlowN_Dims" N="bpws:getVariableData('Flow_Dims_Count')" indexVariable="Index">
And then inside the FlowN, get the actual mapname using the index.
<assign name="Assign_Dims">
<copy>
<from expression= *"bpws:getVariableData('... ? [',bwps:getVariableData('Index'),']') " />*
<to variable="Invoke_Dims_InputVariable" part="InputParameters"
query="/ns8:InputParameters/ns8:P_MAPNAME" />
</copy>
</assign>
What is the syntax to
1. Count the number of mapnames in the xml document?
2. Use the FlowN index to assign the mapname to an input variable?

That looked hopeful, but it did not show how to create the variables and I do not know the syntax for making an array variable.

• Custom Rule - Problem in passin values From Rule Container to WF Container?

Hi Guys,
I am having hard time passing values back from my custom rule. I have created a custom rule to determine the agents in PFAC which takes in the Person number as import element of container. It determines the Manager as agent and I am passing Managers Person Number back to workflow. If he dont approve the Request then it will be passed to his boss. In this case I will pass this imported Mangers Person number back to rule so that his boss will be determined as agent. I have created ZRULE function module. I am passing value back from Rule container to Workflow Container using following code.
swc_set_element ac_container 'SUPERPERNR' lf_super_pernr.
I have created a element SUPERPERNR on rule container and workflow container as well .The problem is in the Rule container I am not able to create SUPERPERNR as export parameter. The tick mark is grayed out and there is no option for setting it as export.
My question is do I have create a Export element on Rule container or Not? If i just write the code
( swc_set_element ac_container 'SUPERPERNR' lf_super_pernr ) will it set the value in WF container? In my case it is not setting. I have to bind the values from rule container to WF container and if My rule container element is not allowing me to click the tick mark as export how can i pass value of of rule container back to WF Container?
Please help me guys.
Thanks,
Manish.

Hi Manish,
Same scenario I have developed in my system. This all steps I did in my system.
1) Created a Z function module which takes import parameter (Parameter name = 'EMP') in the
format 'US100123'.
2) This in turn fetches back the supevisor or boss as an export parameter (Parameter name = 'BOSS') in
the format 'US100245'.
3) This function module is attached to a BUS object(SWO1).
4) While attaching this function module to BUS object you need not do any manual coding it is done
automatically.
5) Implement, release and generate this BUS object.
6) Create a new variable in your workflow (Parameter name = 'ZSUPERVISOR') for storing the value
which is returned by the Z method.
7) Create a new task.
8) Put in your BUS object name, then your Z method name, select background processing checkbox.
9) Press save, it will ask for transfer of missing elements, select yes.
10) Then you will see a green button below your Z method name click on it.
11) Top portion contains your Z method variables, below to it you have the import parameter window in
this window you should have &EMP& -> &EMP&., below to import parameter window you have
export parameter window in this window you should have &BOSS& <- &BOSS&. (This is method
binding).
12) Now click on enter button then click on back button it will generate the task binding automatically
just press yes.
13) Now click on binding exist button.
14) Here you have the Workflow container variables as well as the system container variables.
15) In the import parameter window left portion is for your workflow variables and right portion is for your
method variables. In my case i had sent workflow initiator and fetched his supervisor. The Import
parameter binding was &WF_INTIATOR& -> &EMP&. and the export parameter binding part was
&ZSUPERVISOR& <- &BOSS&.
16) Save the task and run the workflow.

• Passing hierachy node variable from BW to BO Webi Report in open doc link

Hello All,
We are working on BW-BO integration and creating Webi reports based on Bex queries.
The question is regarding passing of a hierachy node value from BW to BO through open doc link.
I see that when we pass hierarchy node value, we have to associate that with the corresponding infoobject technical name in the link but not sure in what format it has to be sent.
For example, if ARM is the node value and 0HIERNODE is the infoobject , how should we send this value to BO.
Please help.
Thanks for your help,
Regards,
Tangudu S

You cannot change anything here. You should really find out how the values are retrieved from the database
THere is another option:
1) Activate the tracing on your BOBJ server
Check the following SAP notes (http://service.sap.com/notes) for that:
Unix: Note 1235111
Windows: Note 1260004
2) Run your WebI report from the InfoView by choosing first the desired hierachy node value from the LOV of your prompt.
3) Extract the MDX statement from the log file. It should contain the value for the hierarchy node. Copy this to the URL
It is easier to find this out if you have access to a Crystal Reports Designer installation. Do you?

• HELP: Cannot See Child Node Values.

I'm trying to print out child node values from following code, I can print child node name but cannot see child node values. Can somebody help me t o figure out this problem
FOR childelement in 0..lengthchild-1
LOOP
IF childelement = 0 THEN
kounter := kounter + 1; END IF;
chnode := xmldom.item(childnodelist,childelement);
v_childnode := xmldom.getNodeName(chNode);
dbms_output.put_line('Child Node Name : '| |v_childnode);
IF (v_childnode) is not null THEN
chnodevalue := xmldom.getNodeValue(chnode);
dbms_output.put_line('Child Value Is :'| |chnodevalue);
ELSE
dbms_output.put_line('Child Value Is NULL');
chnodevalue:= null;
END IF;
End Loop;

if you don't see any of the key values..
and you know exactly what you are doing..
you can create the registry keys and values.
But make sure you know exactly what you are doing; adding and changing registry keys, might end up with a corrupt operating system.
Please try the settings on a virtual environment, before applying to the production.
If anything mess up with changing the registry you got your back covered, but if you're brave enough do it on the production server without doing the test on a VM.
Every second counts..make use of it. Disclaimer: This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.

• Get values from a node and Cast it back to a table

Hi guys!
Anyway know if it is possible to get the values from a table(That was binded previously) and cast it back to a table structure so i can manupilate the fields inside...
My scenario here is to get an input and mass update tis input into the corresponding field in the table...
Any suggestions are welcome and points will be awarded generously! ")

Hi Ravikiran,
In your example you update node node_list with the content of internal table tab_list..
The content of the node can be retrieved as an itab using:
tab_list = node_list->get_static_attributes_table( ).
This method only returns the values static attributes of the node. Dynamic attributes added at runtime using dynamic programming are not returned, since they are managed in a different inside of the context node.
Best regards,
Thomas

• How to pass all values from one node element to created node element?

Hi
I have model node element under which there are 7 values, and I've created value node element and trying to pass the values from the model node Element to this value node element. But instead of passing all the values its listing only one value.
How do we rectify this problem!!!
Thanks in Advance
Srikant

Hi Anil
I've created the node named: TableNode
and the name of the node from which i want to get the data is : Li_Required_Node
the Node Structure is
Context
|_ Zs_Quantity_Input
|_Output
|_Node_Required_Node
|_Schddt
|_TableNode
|_CmpDate
The Schddt has some 7 values
The code Snippet is as follows:
IPublicPricesComp.ITableNodeElement nodeElement;
IPublicPricesComp.ILi_Required_NodeElement scheduleElement;
int counter3Max = wdContext.ILi_Required_Node().size();
for( int counter3= 0 ; counter3 < counter3Max ;counter3++ )
nodeElement = wdContext.createTableNodeElement();
scheduleElement = wdContext.nodeZs_Quantity_Input().nodeOutput_Contract_Qty().nodeLi_Required_Node().getLi_Required_NodeElementAt(counter3);
nodeElement.setCmpDate(scheduleElement.getSchddt());
wdContext.nodeTableNode().addElement(nodeElement);
On writing the above code and then binding the node to a table column only one value getting displayed
Where can be the error?
Thanks in Advance

well, i figured out the problem so thought to share with all aswell.
all i changed was the name of the variable from mDept to dept.
java beans has its own set of rules and naming conventions which i have not read much about but this problem had to do sumthing with that!
just changing the name simply works fine!

• Getting null values from nodes using DOMParser

Hi
I'm having problems retrieving the values from an XML doc.
I'm using the DOMParser, but instead of retrieving the values
from the nodes, I just get null.
Code fragment :
DOMParser parser = new DOMParser();
parser.parse(url);
XMLDocument doc = parser.getDocument();
NodeList nl = doc.getElementsByTagName("*");

n = nl.item(i);
String szNodeName = n.getNodeName();
System.out.print(szNodeName+ " (" );
System.out.print(n.getNodeValue()+")");
System.out.println();
The result is
course (null)
Name (null)
All the node names are correct, but the node values are NOT
displayed.
Any idea ?

null

According to the DOM Level 1 spec, the "value" of an ELEMENT node
is null and the getNodeValue() method will always return null for
an ELEMENT type node. You have to get the TEXT children of an
element and then use the getNodeValue() method in the text nodes.
