Blackberry Traffic OTA download?

My company blocks the BB appstore, but does allow me to download and install OTA softare. (don't ask me why).
Is there an OTA link for Blackberry Traffic?

Just figured it out!
I had to clear the App World cache file as per KB24714. Once I cleared the file, I was able to download BlackBerry Traffic.

BlackBerry Traffic - no download option in App World?

Hello,
I had to delete BlackBerry Traffic from my Bold 9900 the other day but when I tried to reinstall it, the app was not found in my "uninstalled" list. When I try to do a search for the app in App World, I can see the app but there's no "download" button.
Any idea what's wrong??

I live in Los Angeles. When using the freeway system here, many times there are three, even four, different freeways to take to get to one location. Many times one freeway is jammed, and alternate routes are a must. Blackberry Traffic would let you know which freeway to take to get to a location and how to get there the quickest, even adjusting traffic conditions and arrival times based on real-time traffic conditions, as you traveled. It would show you all the different routes, color code the traffic speed/conditions along your route, and update by the minute. For a 25 mile trip in Los Los Angeles, it could take you sometimes an hour or more, but with BB Traffic, you could shave off 15 minutes from your trip. This app was indispensable as a commuter in Los Angeles.
Now, because my company changed email servers, I have to upgrade from by Bold 9900 (which has BB Traffic) to a Z10 to be able to get the Enterprise email service on my phone. But, no BB Traffic - very disappointing. And I agree with those in other forums who point out that you cannot compare a mapping program with BB Traffic - there is no comparison; it's like apples to oranges. The Blackberry Traffic app is far more feature-rich than Blackberry Maps when it comes to the traffic features. The "traffic" feature in Blackberry Maps is NOT the same as Blackberry Traffic - please do not try to insult us by telling us it is.

For what it's worth, I've heard more of the BlackBerry Traffic features are coming to BBMaps.
I don't know when.

OTA Download and HTTP Status Codes

Hi there,
i am planning to check the http status code of an OTA download. Even if I interupt the download process, the server still responds with status 200.
Does anbody have an idea, how to implement this process?

i have relatively a same question. I am developing an OTA Provisioning platform for Java Games . Herez the flow:
-> End User (Client) requests a content by entering his mobile no. via website
-> Server sends a WAP PUSH (Binary SMS) to his mobile.
-> When User opens the WAP PUSH (SMS), it will connect via GPRS to the server and start retrieving the game ( I am using Servlet to stream the JAD File)
-> Then it will retrieve JAR file (path defined in JAD file)
-> I have defined:
MIDlet-Install-Notify: http://myserver.com/content?323
in JAD File. So after Installation the Mobile handset connects the URL specified. I am then grabbing the status code i.e 900 or 901 ....
Problem:
<b> User Tracking: </b> I am not able to track the user e.g there are number of register users each having unique Id. When they download the content the Midlet-Install-Notify connects to servlet, but i am not able to distinguish among users as i am not able to dynamically assign User ID to MIDlet-Install-Notify URL in JAD File.
I am in now in real trouble. If any one knows the solution how to maintain session or URL rewriting i.e dyanmically assign Parameters to MIDlet-Install-Notify plz share it.

Blackberry bold 9700 downloads

My blackberry bold is downloading at 5k/s and its a 3G phone. My friend has a blackberry curve 9360 it downloads at 20k/s and its a 3G too. Why is my blackberry so slow? And how can I make it download faster?

OTA download provisioning problems

I'm experiencing problems provisionig midlet OTA download.
I got IIS 5.0 and set up the mime types for .jad and .jar.
After exploring and selecting the link to the appropriate jad-file via WAP the download of the jad-file appears to be successfull. But after trying to download the jar file, the server's log is only reporting the http-response 406 [at the sc-status] (more info about 406: http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html) and no transmission is preformed.
The file could be downloaded directly by a normal browser (non wap! e.g. in win).
hmmm... anyone ideas?
I tryed to download with Siemens SL45.

Not Acceptable (406) returned by the server because your WAP browser did not state that it recieved JAD. The header for a JAD file supprisingly did not have application/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor

Currently I'm using IIS 4.0 and change the mime type to text/plain and guess what... it works.
However, if your using siemens M50 you might experiencing problem again later as the JAM request header somehow miss the comma between acceptable MIME Type (I haven't had a cure yet for this problem, not even with writing my own web server who ignore acceptable mime type)

Two min ago i looked nothing a min ago its there so i wonder if its hitting the same site every time or merely has filtered through completely on the one site.

Trying to simulate OTA download

I try to run a MIDlet on JBuilder X developer from a OTA server.
I configured the jar and jad in the server.
1) I get this error:
" ** Error installing suite (49): The suite is not authorized for javax.microedition.io.PushRegistry "
2) when running another application with no registry the process doesn't fail but I don't get the download option like in the J2ME Wireless Toolkit.

still it doesn't simulate the download of the jad , as I run my project ( with JBuilder ) the application is already started , no option to download it.

Blackberry desktop manager download: "not valid win32 application" error? won't install

I have purchased a used blackberry 8330 curve. works great and i'd like to download the desktop manager as I believe I could sync a calendar of some sort w/ this program? I tried to download from blackberry website version 4.7 with and without media manager...same error comes up after 1/2 hr of downloading : ""C:\ProgramFiles\470_b050_english.exe is not valid Win32 application"". am I downloading the wrong program? I am pretty new at this smartphone stuff, so 'smartphone for dummies' instructions would be helpful. thanks a bunch! oh--I have windows xp edition on my laptop.

If you're running Windows try going to Start | Run and type in (w/o quotes) "%temp%".
That should open the temp directory where the software may be trying to install to. If the folder isn't empty delete it's contents and try again.

OTA Download and Caching

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii all,
i have created a JAVA Servlet to download a 3gp file through OTA, on to the mobile. Its downloaded fine in the first attempt, and the clip was also able to play. When i try to download the same file again, it gets downloaded but doesn't play.
if i clear the cache and delete the cookies and then again try to download, i m successful again. Is it because the file is cache into the mobile browser.
But, I have already written the code to prevent caching, but still it doesn't work.

response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-store"); //HTTP 1.1is there any other issue i have to look into. I am using a POST method to send the parameters to the server.

If I remember correct the value for "Cache-Control" should also be "no-cache".

BlackBerry World Music Downloads Failing....Need Help

I just purchased a song to play for a kid who was asking to hear it but the download keeps failing. I have already paid for the song but I am unable to download it.
I have since tested BlackBerry World apps and they are working as usual. I've searched all over the Internet for an answer, but I'm having trouble finding any information.
Anyone have any thoughts on what I might need to do? I've tried refreshing BlackBerry World and I'm going to do another battery pull once I finish this post.

Blackberry app World download

i have mistakenly delete my Blackberry App World. Now everytime i try to download a new app world it tells me that my session has ended and i should close all browers windows and return t the home page.

Go to Options > Device > > Applications and scroll to the AppWorld application and don't click on it, just scroll to it. Click Menu > Delete and remove the application.
Now, do a reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Finally, use your BlackBerry browser to go to www.blackberry.com/appworld and download/install AppWorld again.
