Blackfin UART Interrupt/Callback for receiving data

Hi,
I am having trouble structuring a simple program to receive data from the Blackfin UART1.  Data is received over the UART1 every second, so I'm planning on creating an interrupt service routine to read in the data and store it to a global string array .  After reading the following page on Blackfin callbacks,
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3244
I believe this is the general way I should approach the problem:
Main VI:
- Static VI reference that references the UART interrupt service routine VI
- Static VI reference connects to BF UART Open block, BF UART Control block, then to the UART interrupt service routine
- Global string array indicator
UART interrupt service routine VI:
- UART Read block with the output buffer appending string to a global string array
This is not working--the global string array does not update.  I have been able to read the data through the UART1 in another VI, but this was not triggered by an interrupt.  Is this the right approach to the problem or does someone have a sample VI that I can look at?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I would not recommend using the BF UART VIs in an Interrupt VI -- VDK is very strict about what is allowed in ISRs, and in general, it is best to do as liitle as possible in ISRs. Also, the callback will execute when the buffer is full (not necessarily once a second).
Instead, you could do a simple timed loop application that has a period of 1s, and do the UART Read in the timed loop. Or, you could even do something as simple as put the BF UART Read in a while loop that contains a Wait Until Next ms Multiple function to cause the loop to execute once per second. I recommend using the UART echo example as a starting point (attached).

    Though the GR is getting created, when we access the Material Document through the PO History tab in Purchase Order, the Receiving date is updated as 20.10.0422(though I am not passing it in my program). But the Posting Date and Document Date are correctly updated as 22.04.2010.
    Moreover there is no field for Receiving Date in BAPI Goods Movement Header Structure.
    Could someone please explain why the date is being reversed as 20.10.0422 instead of appearing as 22.04.2010 and the solution for this problem?

  • Handle Received data of Multiple TCP clients on TCP Server by displaying them into Datagrid

    Hello All,
    I have developed a C# based TCP server GUI application which is accepting the data from multiple TCP clients on TCP server.
    The data i am receiving from TCP clients is a 32 bit data. In my application multiple TCP client data goes like this:
    00012331100025123000124510321562
    01112563110002512456012451032125 and so on...
    Now i want those data of the TCP clients to be parsed into 4 bits first and display it in 8 columns (32/4=8) of (say) datagrid as each 4 bit represents some characteristics of the TCP client. The same thing
    should work for next TCP client on second row of datagrid.
    Can you give me some suggestion or an example how to go about this? Any help would be appreciated.
     Thank you in advance.
    Here is my code for receiving data from multiple TCP clients.
    void m_Terminal_MessageRecived(Socket socket, byte[] buffer)
    string message = ConvertBytesToString(buffer, buffer.Length);
    PublishMessage(listMessages, string.Format("Sockets: {0}", message));
    // Send Echo
    // m_ServerTerminal.DistributeMessage(buffer);
    private string ConvertBytesToString(byte[] bytes, int iRx)
    char[] chars = new char[iRx + 1];
    System.Text.Decoder d = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetDecoder();
    d.GetChars(bytes, 0, iRx, chars, 0);
    string szData = new string(chars);
    return szData;

    Now i want those data of the TCP clients to be parsed into 4 bits first and display it in 8 columns (32/4=8) of (say) datagrid as each 4 bit represents some characteristics of the TCP client. The same thing
    should work for next TCP client on second row of datagrid
    If mean it's a Windows Forms application and you want to display those bits in a DataGridView control, then please see these threads:
    Add row to datagridview
    Programmatically add new row to DataGridView

  • LOADING x12 834 data into database and 999 generation for received x12 file

    Hi All,
    I'm New to BizTalk, Im using BizTalk 2010 developer edition....I need to load the x12 834 enrollment data (few details) into database. I want to know the step by step procedure to do this. kindly help me.
    Also i need to know the 999 ackknowledgement generation for the received x12 file
    Thanks in advance.
    Rengaraj

    You need to Generate individual 834 enrollment message through de batching in EDIReceive pipeline .
    Once you get disassembled message you need map it with   insert stored procedure schema for inserting data in to SQL .
    For this first you need to create a table in SQL server with required columns and create a simple stored procedure to insert  data in to Table . Use Add Generate Item --> consume adapter service-->SQL binding -->Outbound operation and then
    select the Stored Procedure created to generate schema for it . Use the same schema while mapping from Debatched EDI message to SQL stored Procedure request.
    Thanks

    After upgrading to OS Mavericks, I realized that the Partition for Windows is gone. I have really important data on this drive without a back up. Is there any way I can get this data before reformatting. Is there any third party software for receiving the data or any possible way? Money is not a limitation to this fix. Please help!!!

    sure pretty simple.  make a backup of your current settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US
    then restore device from old backup you need pics off of
    then import pics to computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
    you may need to save pics to camera roll first
    then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

  • SRM-Empty receiving date propriety for shopping card confirmation Emails

    Hello Experts,
    We have SRM V7
    We are facing an issue when user confirm a shopping card via email.
    In fact when he validate the request the sent confirmation is stored in outlook with propriety receiving date = None.
    As far as I know the mail generated by SRM application must have a valid "send " and "receive" date/time.
    We don't know if we are facing an outlook issue or an SRM issue.
    Do you have an idea about this issue and how to solve it?
    Thank you in advance,
    Moez

    Hi DamianALugo,
    This is just unacceptable, and if this was my purchase I would be equally upset. If an employee promises a call to a customer they should be making that call, and you should have been given an accurate explanation as to why these deliveries were being rescheduled.
    The only times a BestBuy.com order would be automatically cancelled by us would be if it was set to be picked up in one of our stores, and it wasn’t picked up in a timely manner; the only other time would be if an order was on backorder for a period of time without the customer requesting us to extend this backorder.
    Is there anything specific I can do to get this resolved for you? If so, post back to this thread or send me a private message with what you need. I promise to do what I can to get you any resolution you are seeking. To send me a private message click on the link in my signature.

  • Waiting for receiving whole data in data receive event of serila port

    0down votefavorite
    I want to migrate one VB6 project to C#. In VB6 project MSCOMM control is used for serial port communication. Instead of using same control in C# application I have used serial port class.
    Initially I am sending 4 consecutive commands to serial port. When I tried to debug the code I found
    DataReceive event is working in separate thread.
    I need 15 bytes response for first command 17 bytes response to second command.
    But as we know DataReceive event for one byte also.
    I want to get whole 15 bytes response for first command and then want to send second command.
    I have tried following code.
    private void serialPort1_DataReceived(object sender, System.IO.Ports.SerialDataReceivedEventArgs e)
    if (serialPort1.ReceivedBytesThreshold > sent_command.Length)
    string data = serialPort1.ReadExisting();
    int bufferLengh = data.Length;
    string output_str;
    char[] array = data.ToCharArray();
    string final = "";
    foreach (var i in array)
    string hex = String.Format("{0:X}", Convert.ToInt32(i));
    final += hex.Insert(0, "") ;
    final = final.TrimEnd();
    output_str = final;
    MessageBox.Show(output_str);
    Using above code I am getting data filled with one or two bytes and rest data bytes as "0" but data byte length is correct. (for first command it is 15 and second command 17 bytes)
    Or sometimes data = ""
    My question is how to wait in data receive event to get whole response and then it will receive the response for second command.
    In VB6 application one polling timer is used.
    If I used a timer in C# application then in that timer event timeout exception get fired and data receive event does not get fired.
    Please help me to resolve this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Could not retrieve transport type data for Receive Location

    can someone lend me a help to this error, i was encountering this error for days, and i haven't found solution till now, thanks in advance!\
    Could not retrieve transport type data for Receive Location 'Receive' from config store. Primary SSO Server 'server' failed. No credentials have been set for the mapping.
     (Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM)
    For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=47400&ProdName=Microsoft+BizTalk+Server+2010&ProdVer=3.9.469.0&EvtSrc=Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM.Resources&EvtID=IDS_ERR_RL_SSO_GETCONFIG

    After a long time of googling finally I got the problem resolved. The steps I followed are as follows:
    Go To SSO Adminnistration -> System -> Restore Secret and select the secret file.
    If you dont know the path of the secret file try once in the location "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterprise Single Sign-On".
    Select the file and provide the password. Once the master secret restores the error will not come.

    Sign up for Google's paid Apps for Business service, you can then set things up using Exchange & you'll get push using Gmail. Otherwise, you can't get push using Gmail.

  • The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection' threw an exception. InnerException: Requested registry access is not allowed.

    I have read some of the other posts for people that got this error, but none seem to apply to me.
    My program has been working for weeks.  I made some minor changes, and started getting the error (full details below).
    I did a TFS "undo pending changes" and still getting the same error, even after logging off.  The one odd thing is that I did change my Windows password this week. The connection string is using a SQL user id and password that has no issues.
    I'm an Admin own my own box (running WIn XP SP3).  I even tried "Run as Admin" on Visual Studio.
    I'm doing a Debug-Start, running a Console-Test-Program that calls a WCF service, which on local machine is hosted by "ASP.NET Development Server".
    We have two other developers, one has the same problem, one does not.  In theory, we have all done "get latest" and are running the same code.
    The SQL Connection is related to a trace database; we are using this library http://ukadcdiagnostics.codeplex.com which has worked fine for months.
    When I do "Start Run" in Visual Studio, I get this error:
    {"The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection' threw an exception. "}
    with InnerException: {"The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnectionFactory' threw an exception."}
    and it has InnerException: {"Requested registry access is not allowed. "}

    I think I found it... this is sure a strange error for what is really happening.
    Apparently it had happened to me before, and fortuantely, I actually added the following comment:
                // Above is related to the WCFLOG SQL Diagnostics Trace
                // If you get error here an inner exception "requested registry access is not allowed"
                // inside exception "type initializer for System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection"
                // then make sure you have impersonation enabled in your client.
                // See AdminConsole web.config or FRB.EC.AdminService.ConsoleTester.app.config for examples
    Now I think I will do a try catch and spit out the same text.
    Still testing to assure that this really was the issue.
          <endpointBehaviors>
            <behavior name="FRB.AllowImpersonate ">
              <clientCredentials>
                <windows allowedImpersonationLevel="Impersonation"/>
              </clientCredentials>
            </behavior>
          </endpointBehaviors>
    The line below in BOLD below is what somehow seemed to disappear from my app.config - probably due to a TFS human error - still checking that also:
            <client>
                  <endpoint address="http://localhost:4998/AdminService.svc"
                                  behaviorConfiguration="FRB.AllowImpersonate"
                                  binding="wsHttpBinding"
                                  bindingConfiguration="WSHttpBinding_IAdminService"
                                 contract="svcRef.IAdminService"
                            name="WSHttpBinding_IAdminService">
                        <identity>
                              <dns value="localhost" />
                        </identity>
                  </endpoint>
            </client>
    Here's how I "idiot-proofed" this error for now, to give an error that actually at least points to a solution:
            public SqlDataAccessCommand(string connectionString, string commandText, CommandType commandType)
                try
                    _connection = new SqlConnection(connectionString);
                    // See AdminConsole web.config or FRB.EC.AdminService.ConsoleTester.app.config for examples
                catch (Exception ex)
                    if (ex.ToString().Contains("The type initializer for"))
                    throw new System.ApplicationException(@"
                    Your client app <endpoint> must be cofigured have a
                  'behaviorConfiguration' attribute like this:
                    behaviorConfiguration='FRB.AllowImpersonate'
                   that points back to a behavior that has this syntax:
              <behavior name='FRB.AllowImpersonate'>
                 <clientCredentials>
                     <windows allowedImpersonationLevel='Impersonation'/>
                 </clientCredentials>
              </behavior>
              ", ex);
                   else
                        throw ex;
                _command = _connection.CreateCommand();
                _command.CommandText = commandText;
                _command.CommandType = commandType;
                // TODO _command.CommandTimeout = ;

  • Infopackage Idocs in status 2 - could not find code page for receiver system

    Hi,
    We just migrated our production system from BW 7.01 non unicode to BW 7.4 on HANA.
    We now encounter issues with idocs while loading data into bw from our ECC5 source. When we analyze idocs in the source system it appears with the message "could not find code page for receiver system"
    One weird thing is that the idoc seems to have been created before we started the infopackage in bw.. We controlled system time and AS time and everything seems ok.
    We did not encounter this issues on our previous migration test runs..
    Hope someone can help
    Christophe

    Hi,
    Thanks for responding. We finally found out what the problem was.
    We have two applications servers on our ECC with 2 different OS. One of them could not reach the new BW HANA server.
    Regards
    Christophe

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

    I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
    I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
    The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
    I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
    I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
    By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
    Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
    Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Period is locked for new data

    Good Morning,
    Anyone get this error before?
    -4013:Period is locked for new data

    Haven't received it before today, of course, the day we go live.  The period we are posting to is not locked for new data and it seems to be limited to one customer only...  Any immediate thoughts?
    Thanks so much,
    Kristen

    OK, I have it working for the moment, but I am very curious about this.  I went back in and selected the Install Plugin button 2 more times just to be sure, I restarted everything and they went through fine.  Could it be that the Plugin installed partially before?  It didn't seem so because other orders were flowing both ways and just certain ones were seeming to get stuck...  Then more gradually started failing until none were passing through.  This has been working seemlessly in this environment for weeks until of course go live today, so I am at a loss.  Probably just that one piece of excitement for Go Live that we were missing.  All is well.  James, thanks for responding.
