I know skype cant do much about it. but firstly I'd like to suggest everyone post up all information you can regarding the pursuer so that everyone else can go on skype look them up and block/report them. Their accounts are usually fairly obvious once you have become a victim.
FIRST PROTECT YOURSELF!
DO NOT SEND MONEY. DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR THREATS. THIS WILL PROMOTE THEM TO CONTINUE.
Delete/block all connections you have with the pursuer. Be it any/All social networks with linked names or information you have posted up publicly. Secondly if you cannot delete these accounts/deacctivate it, change you private settings.
CEASE ALL COMMUNICATION with them as soon as you have done this.
They also recycle photos with different names.

extortion for hundreds of dollars.

PLEASE search for these scammers and block/report them from everything! It won't do much about what was recorded but you may save others from falling victim.
Also follow what Skype recommends, EMAIL [e-mail removed for privacy and security] to reinforce the investigations.
IF you do some how find your video has gone online you should proceed with contacting police about Cyber extortion. They are criminals and not to be taken lightly.

I just had nora.cante76 or something similar trying to add me to skype with the message: "Hi it's me again. Add me!!!!" I blocked the account straightaway.
Giving into their threats is the worse thing you can do. Now I will need to shut down my current skype account and start up a new one using a different name and email address otherwise this scumbag will continue to harass me.
I found out via the scam survivors site that Nora Cante or the nomenclature to that affect is a Morrocan guy who goes under the aliases of Mario Dissoza or Marwan Dissoza. You can see his photo here :http://www.scamsurvivors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=24583&p=72811
I did a google and facebook search on him and wasn't able to find his account (probably been shut down) but I was able to find a trace link to a facebook like of photos of a football match or something called Zona Clandestine in El Jadida, Morroco which was one of the places he wanted money to be sent to. He is also associated with Khouribga, Morroco. Very likely this is where he lives.
A google search of Marwan Dissoza brings up his account on Facebook basic though it isn't actually there when you click on it suggesting his account was deactivated. Most likely by Facebook.
Other aliases are Anime Idris Kamel and Mouab Khabsi. Most likely one times uses.
Marwan Dissoza does seem to be closer to his real name as I also found his details on some sort of dating site: http://www.meetme.com/member/77885488
He also appears to have a google+ account.
Judging by his name he's a spanish Morrocan. He appears to have good english and IT savvy though he's not that good as he wasn't able to entirely erase his digital footprint.
Nonetheless this guy is scum of the lowest order and any of his nora cante aliases is to be avoided at all costs.
My incident started on Chat roulette. I have since stopped using it. My advice to anyone using Chat roulette is to avoid it at all costs. If you feel comfortable using then do not give out your email under any circumstances. If the so-called girl or boy you're chatting says they can't find your skype name its a trap. Just move on. I was so close to clicking 'next' and boy do I wish I had! The fake cam seems so convincing. It never occurred to me that someone could record your skype video call and use that against you.
I sincerely hope no one else falls victim to this disgusting filth. I think we need to push Skype hard to put out a message to all users on their site to steer clear of all accounts named nora cante.

well this scam happened to me yesterday. you would think people would learn ha ha, i have seen posts on here date back to 2012 regarding this if even 1 out of 10 people scammed paid the money (i would imagine this number would be higher than just one though) multiplyed but the amount of scams they can execute in 1 day over a 2 and a half year period. these guys will be quite well off.
anyway my story started on a dating website. someone mailed me after liking my profile and what i was kind of taken back because she was very pretty (obviously fake). so after a little conversation she asked for my facebook acount which i stupidly gave her, however the other stories i have read all say that they were added on facebook where as i was not. anyway there was a video call made and it got...lets say fruity lol. after around 5 mins or so the call was ended and a video of myself...being fruity was on screen andi glanced to see that it was getting sent over facebook. i instantly pooped my pants and slammed the laptop closed contemplating my options i went to my mothers laptop and checked. happy days nothing is there. i return to my laptop to find they are still conversing with me.
like i said at the start we were never friends on facebook but this is exactly what was said to me.
"I just sent your video has (name removed but it was my mother) and I'll send it has all your other friends now, I swear I'll rot you life with this video and do not think that you got me your facebook personal you wrong you I have all your friends list and I am even friends with some of your contacts" as i stay with my mother i then went back to the computer to check and there was nothing there. obviously scare tactic and he probably didnt know we lived in the same house. so this made me think how he actually got the contacts because my facebook is private.
anyway he demanded 2000 euros so i asked him if he was daft that amount of money cant be raised in one day plus it is 10pm here everything is shut. so he very kindy gave me till 9am this morning, it is now 10:45 and i have heard nothing. after watching a youtube video and reading on here i am going to do absolutle nothing about this. as i said before i have read posts on this site dating back to 2012 on this same scam. if the video had been leaked there would be something about it in that period from then to now.
i am also led to believe that if the video is released that is exactly how they would get traced and caught. i really dont think they would ruin a very successful and lucrative scam. the number of people that will instantly pay this will massivly out weigh the people who wont pay.
what i have done is change every password i had, reported the scammer to skype. reported the video to youtube telling them i want it removed as it is being used against mein a blackmail scam and the video was labeld "my name perverse masterbating infront of 8yo child" i tols youtube that is this video surfaced it would undoubtably have severe concequences. i refreshed the page and it was gone. on facebook i have changed my actual name to something different. changed alot of privicy settings to only me. made my friends list available to only me the final thing i am doing right now is making a file of all the screen shots, pictures and everything else and sending it to interpol. i understand telling people to go to your local police station, if they have any their powers to get anythingdone will be very low. as this is an international crime it should be interpol that is notified documenting the information they gave you of where to send the money.

Am I at risk of being blackmailed?

I sexted with someone on skype (knew him from omegle). We did it like 3-4 times, I started noticing some strange things, his cam started repeating the video it showed 10-15 minutes ago, and also sometimes windows of a list of skype calls appeared on his screen and he dragged it by the side. Last time I said to him to wave his hand in front of the cam and he instantly turned down the call and blocked me. So I guess his cam was fake, but mine was not, my body is shown completely but my face is not, I only showed my mouth and nose, once or twice one of my eyes was seen partly and one time I accidentally was in front of the camera and my face was shown up to my forehead (so my forehead and hair weren't). The skype account I used is a fake one, you can't find anything about me in it. But I'm concerned he could find out who I am in the future if he sees me somewhere or something like that, or maybe that's unlikely? I also fear that he may want to blackmail me some time in the future but since he blocked me does that mean that he wasn't recording me at all and doesn't want anything from me? Also could he remember my face (although not shown completely at the same time) for a long period of time, I never was on frontal view in front of the cam, always in angles. If he blackmails me should I disclaim that I'm the one on the video? We are both underage btw, I'm 16 he is 15, or that's what he said to me, but as of the our skype video calls, he looked 15.
Please if someone know the answers to my questinons please help me!

I did something stupid on skype and got video taped by a person name "mel". The played back the first portion of the video to me. I immediately closed my computer, deleted and blocked them, i never gave them my real name or facebook or anything in regards to social media or who i am. Scammers using my Skype In Number

For the past few weeks, I have had voice messages left on my Skype In number related to people asking for refunds from a tax department.
It seems that the scammers will call these people, and when they ask questions and want a number to return the call, the scammers will leave my Skype Number as their contact details. So, lots of calls from dear old people expecting me to help them get a refund.
I have cancelled my subscription for this number, however the number is still active until the next bill cycle in January.
How can I inactivate this to where the phone number is no longer valid?

Blackmail

I have been scammed and BLACKMAILED by a girl claiming to be from London she starts talking to me on facebook asking about my life and proceeds to ask for video sex. she was of consentual age according to her skpe profile info, her profile saying birthdate was 1995 which I have screenshotted along with all of the Facebook and skype conversations. anyhow as her and I are chatting and naked she records my video and starts to send YouTube video links of said recorded video with titled "Wally Fisher masturbates to nine year old girl" to me (not even my real name) I reported videos on my friends iphone on his YouTube accont multiple time the videos are immediatly gone. she threatens to share on Facebook with my family and friends. she then proceeds to threaten to "make my life rot" and many similar phrasing of the same threat, and claimed she would use "incriminating evidence" to send me to American prison for ten years. she used a bunch of really fake in appearance legal terms and so called violations I was supposedly in and basically threatening me with child pornography charges and she had been claiming to also have the power to share my video with major social sites and video sharing sites.I played along with the bluff, asking how much she wanted long enough for me to screenshot and document all evidence of the conversations of her blackmailing me and her profiles along with profile information for both her Facebook and skype accounts. Afterwards I called her out on her bluff and told her what list of charges and laws she was in violation of,(entrapment, blackmail, making threats of slander, illegal sharing of pornographic images of my body on the internet via recorded video without my consent, harrasment) etc. I told her these charges Via my voice during skype call.Each threat I just listed, were bargained by her providing an ultimatum that I send her money via western union in exchange that she would see the incriminating video of me to be deleted. I then proceeded to tell her that my brother was a federal agent and advised her to prepare to be expedited when picked up on the "immediatly active issued international warrant" she slowly began to act less powerful and knowledgable of the law and even then bargained lower prices. she providied a western union routing number with a name area code etc (every piece of info needed to wire money.) and I have this all screenshoted as well. I then turned the conversation around, advising her that it would be her that rots and justice for all the men she did this to before would be recieved. she gave one last threat, then sent multiple more undisplayable or irrelevant YouTube links and hasn't replied.
It appears this con artist/blackmailer/scammer wasn't on top of their game and may have been scared away.
For future references if need be, throughout this report I used a specific pronoun key so it is clearly illistrated who did what actions. Pronoun labels are as follows.
Key:
her or she = Facebook and skype con artist
me or I = me (victim)
he or him = one of my multiple eye witnesses (sisters boyfriend)
I worded the forum this way so it is easily interpreted who does or says what from my account.
I feel fairly safe due to the fact that these people are far away, and they use false legal terms, and they operate based on a naive scared, and embarassed American male, with fear of being BLACKMAILED with acts of perversion or improper internet use. they are cowards, and that they don't have any sufficient incriminating evidence. tell me what yoy think peopke I know this has happened to others.

i have been a fool and caught out on skype web cam were the girl on the other end in gahna has taken pictures of me and is now blackmailing me for money or she will put them in the ---- news and post them on sites on the internet she goes by the name p--- on skype and her email is --- can somone please stop these people doing this and ruining other peoples lifes .

Blackmail and Threatening via Skype

There's a girl added me in Facebook on Monday (26/5) and then we started skype and she was naked. She ask me to take off my shirt ans go naked so i blindly followed what she says without thinking of the consequences. I am very regret now as the short skpe video call is being recorded and i am being blackmailed by her. She asks me to send her money through western union and i Sent her USD500. After that she still threaten to share the video to my fb friends and family. Initially i found the video on youtube after i made payment (broken promise by blackmailer) and i reported it. Today, she posted the video in youtube again and it is scary to know tht the video is not removed and exist.
The person i sent money to lives in Bulacan, Philippenes. I hope her skype account will be banned. Apparently its a syndicate because there is a few skype user messaging me that claim they have my video in their hands. I can provide 2 Skype names that threaten me, i hope Skype community will take appropriate action against these accounts to prevent mor victims from falling prey again.

The words they use in skype after having my nude video are scary, aggressive, possessive, and sickening. I hope theres something Skype community cn do to help us victims

It saddens me to add that blackmail scams involving videos are reported regularly here on this message board. You may wish to review these on-going topics. Of particular help may be posts authored by JonArbuckle.
Block and Report as Abuse/Spam this contact, and be wary of future contact invitations that begin with the same pattern.

How to respond to live blackmailer

If they get a video of you and they are blackmailing you to send money. Just act panicked, and by as much time as you can without making them too to angry between responses.
1. Search how to find a skype username, write it down
2. Find an internet site that tracks Ip addresses from online skype usernames.
3. Take the Ip address and type it into an IP address resolver.
4. Tell them you know where he is, his IP address and name, do not screen shot them your prooof, because you may not actually have the name. But when he "says" where Am I then? You will scare him when you have the answer.
5. Tell them the police have been watching the last 3 minutes of the call when you give them this info. He will not risk posting the video out of fear he/she will be caught.
I had a Person try this, I searched his username to track his Ip address. And used the Ip address to locate the computer being used. But its difficult to keep the scammer happy and research, so Hopefully your multi tasking is good.
The Douche who did it to me was from Morocco, traced them to Marec telecom. If anyone wants to report this I know I wont be.

If you are sure they were scammers the only way to be 100% sure they left nothing behind is to wipe your system disk, do a clean install and restore from a backup you are sure was made before the scammers got onto you system.
There is no other way to be sure that thye did not leave somehting behind. In addition if you have used any credit card numbers while on the system, back account (or any other) passwords, tax returns, etc. You need to be alert fo IIdentity Theft | Consumer Information. It may be a good idea to place a fraud alert with one of the credit reporting agencies (the link above will detail what to do)
And of course change the passwords right away.
