    If you have Adobe Acrobat (not Adobe Reader) the program can perform an OCR on the document you acquired.

  • Images Change in Document after Saving

    Help! This problem has plagued me in both Pages and Keynote. I have designed a brochure in Pages and used "copy & paste" to place multiple pieces of clipart from another document into the brochure. Once I have everything laid out just as I'd like it, I save the document. I also export it as a PDF or WORD format so that it will be compatible for others to use. After saving and exporting, I close the program. Later when I reopen the document in order to make changes, my graphics have all been replaced by a single random image that has been used somewhere in the document. There isn't a rhyme or reason regarding which image is duplicated, but in every place in the document that had artwork, it is repeated.
    As I mentioned this happened in Keynote as well as Pages. In this instance, I was using many photos which I inserted using the media selector (rather than "copy & paste"). When I came back into my project, all the photographs had changed to a single picture. AGGHH.
    Am I just not doing something right? Or is this a flaw in the programs?

    I never got this odd behaviour.
    Most of the time, I don't use copy-paste but dag & drop which stores the picture file in the document in the original format.
    When I uses copy - paste, I always get a tiff file in the document's package.

  • Media file (quicktime) not playing when Pages document is saved as a pdf

    I added a quicktime file (a movie trailer) to my presentation and it plays when in Pages - but when I export it to a pdf it is just a black space. 1. are these links/media files are supposed to be active when in a pdf format 2. how can I get the media file to play when it is saved as a pdf? 3. Will those who I email it to be able to play the media file when they open it up on their computer?

    Multimedia is not embedded in exported .pdf files.
    You will need to relink them again in the .pdf using Adobe Acrobat Pro.

    After importing some pica's from photoshop to indesign and saving it as a pdf, I noticed that my colours are totally wrong.
    I now get the message:
    Embedded profile mismatch
    The document's embedded colour profile does not match the current RGB working space.
    The current RGB colour management policy is to discard profiles that do not match the working space.
    Embedded: Adobe RGB (1998)
    Working: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
    What do I have to do to make sure the chosen colours stay as they are??? I read something about a PDF/X-standard and
    the possibility to copy a file from one to another map, but I'm totally lost now.
    Can this be solved with the printerguy by asking joboptions???

    That depends on how much you care about profile mismatches. you can turn off the warning dialog in Edit> Color Settings by unchecking the "ask when opening" button. Otherwise, you might want to note the document profile, then set your application back to that.

  • Why can't I view my edited projects in the documents after saving from PSE10?

    Aftrer I work on a project and save it, it is unable to be opened as a file in the document folders on our server. I can still open and view it in the photoshop program but not on its own. Thus, I cannot attach the finished products on web sites, etc. When I go to open the file, a blank Adobe screen pops up with a message that says something like 'cannot open this file because damage has been done to it.'
    We have the program on two computers in the office (the max), and this is not happening on the second computer. What happened, and how can I fix this?

    I should note that this problem did not occur before, and I could open the files easily in the saved documents whether I saved them as a jpeg, etc. Now when I want to view them, I can only view them in the Organizer. In the computer Documents file, the Adobe logo shows up rather than the thumbnail of the edited product. I am not trying to attach these in an e-mail and know that if I want these as a picture I need to save it as a JPEG. But, like I said, this was not a problem before and just started happening. Even when I want to upload the file on the web site, the error message comes back at me stating that it cannot open the file.
    Not only do I have problems viewing my own Adobe Photoshop files but other finished products from others when I want to save and open the file. (We have a management group that helps to create templates for certain products in our office, and that is what I am referring to.)
    WHAT IS GOING ON?!

    After converting and dowloading that converted file from a  Adobe PDF file to a word document I then open the word document to see a message stateing

    Please proivde advise on how to sucessfully convert the Adobe PDF file to a word document.

    The error message you were receiving occurs when you try to convert a dynamic PDF file created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.  This file is usually already a fillable form.  Unfortunately there is no workaround available for converting documents like this within the ExportPDF service.

  • Any reason why the PC version of CS6 doesn't open a save as document after saved like OSX?

    I am running cs6 on both PC and Mac. On my pc if I save a Photoshop file on it as a save as, it does not open the file immediately. I have to close the original file, find the file then open it. Very time consuming and also confusing if you are working fast. On my Mac if i save a document in Photoshop, doing a save as, it saves the doc, and opens it right there and you just continue to work. Any ideas?

    Maybe I wrote this wrong. Here goes again.
    On a mac, when you save as (for reference lets call it documentA) so I am working on DocumentA and want to make an iteration, I save as DocumentB, on OSX, it saves it as DocumentB (which is now the open doc in the PShop window) and I just keep working. No issues at all.
    However same scenario on a PC, If i have DocumentA open and want to make an iteration I save as DocumentB, and DocumentB does not open, what remains is DocumentA. I then have to close DocumentA drill down to find the newly saved iteration (DocumentB) and then open that and continue to work. As you can see when working fast how this can become confusing.
    If you would like I can do a screen capture video to show you. It may be system specific and not the norm on PC hence the reason I am on the forums trying to find out an answer. 
    Short story: on my PC saving a document does not leave the new document open it leaves the OLD document open. on OSX save as leaves the NEW document open.

  • Help - Images change in document after saving

    This issue has been plaguing be for a while and is quite frustrating. When I am working on a document for a scientific poster, I iwll get everything placed how I would like, then export it to PDF (where everything looks as I intend it to), but when I reopen pages to make additional edits some of the images have been changed to be a different random image in the document. This is extremely frustrating as the placing of figures and graphs in the poser is really time intensive, and every time it happens I have to start over. Other than this issue pages is great for working on these posters, but this issue is frequent enough, and a large enough annoyance that I am thinking of not using it any more.
    There is an old discussion chain where someone was having the same issue, but it was never resolved and is now archived so I cant add to that thread.
    Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. These files are quite large due to the size of the poser (about 36" x 48", and ~130mb) in case that helps.

    You need to learn some basic techniques in Pages and OSX.
    1. When you drag an image onto a page it usually comes in as a floating object with wrap set, this causes text under to move so that it runs around the object. Usually this is what you want.
    2. In your case you should create "placeholders" which are dummy images in the correct place, size and style which are replaced when you drag an image from the finder onto them.
    Make a placeholder with an imagebox containing any graphic you like, set it up the way you want it with border, color, wrap, fit etc then:
    Menu > Format > Advanced > Define as media placeholder
    3. You can print just about anything to pdf from almost any application on OSX using the Print PDF button at the bottom left of the Print dialog box.
    4. Pages has a beautiful graph tool which works in conjunction with a mini spreads sheet in the document:
    Toolbar > Charts
    5. Pages also works very well with graphs produced in Numbers
    Download and read the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu.
    Also iWork '09 The Missing Manual is an excellent reference

    As per the process flow We need to create a material document say with movement type 501.
    The moment we save this document the system should create the Shipmenty Document in ETM.
    The required BADI's and the function modules are activated and the required linkages are also activated.
    Still the system does not behave as desired.

    At WF see that Creating CEM ship. doc. failure cause no agent defined.
    But I assigned the following tasks:
       a) Standard task 80000088 Create ETM ShipDoc from MM Doc. Dialog.
       b) Standard task 80000087 ETM ShipDoc GR Try Again?
    for myself as object type US.
    What's wrong?

    When we change the user staus or priority or something like that(F4
    fields) and then save the document, the changed values are updated in
    the database but old values are shown again. When we re-enter the
    document we can see the true values.

    For what it's worth I have been having similar problems. Check the application log SLG1. Every time you save it creates entries.
    I haven't been able to change the component. Also, I can't get SAP to acknowledge that it is not normal to save text in the description and not have it show up anywhere. Note 1001810 covers my situation exactly but I am above the support pack recommended. I have decided to just apply the new SPS 12 that is just out.

  • Blank screen after saving bios

    I'm having a similar problem to other users I've seen on this forum.  Except I bought 1 512 stick (exactly the one that is on the MSI list of compitable memory).
    If I clear the CMOS I can get into the bios and everything seem to be fine but when I select save and exit I get a blank screen and eventually my monitor times out.  
    I've tried the memory in all 3 slots I even replaced the memory with a new stick (same type) but the new replacement is just the same.  I'm running bios v 1.2 and have tried 1.0 and 1.1 with the same problem.  
    This is a completely new system so it's never been working.
    Any help is appreciated.

    With Only 16 Amps Available on your +12V Rail, I Have to agree with Jocko....Your 64 Bit CPU with it's 1MB of L2 Cache can require up to 11.0 Amps. Combine this with any Performance Vidio Card in the "PRO" or "FX" Flavor, that can draw an additional 6-7 Amps off of your +12V Rail, and Now you are already at MAX of your PSU. Not to mention that you Only Have 22 Amps available on the +3.3V Rail which is the Memories Rail, (It should Be No Less than 28-30 Amps). Any Performance CPU whether it be an INTEL Northwood or Athlon 64, Should have a PSU that has a minimum of 20 Amps on the +12V Rail. And if this is not the Whole Problem with your System, it will undoubtedly Become the Only Issue, Because yor PSU will be constantly Operating at or Above it's Designed Output therefore endangering the Rest of your System. I say this Because I have seen first handed what happens when a PSU Blows And a majority of the time, they wind up Taking the rest of the System with it .....Keep in Mind that the MOST Important Componant in ANY Performance Rig, is a Quality Powerful PSU....You should have at least 450+ Watts for your Rig....You should try to get Either an ENERMAX 465W-VE or an Antec 480-True-Power......Try Plugging in your Componants to this Calculator, and Keep in mind this is a Very Conservative Tool>>>>>> http://www.adecy.com/psu/  ..............Sean REILLY875

  • PDF Forms + Illustrator CS4 (losing form functionality after saving in Illustrator CS4)

    I have a form set up that I use to keep information about various projects. The form was created in Illustrator CS3 and Acrobat Pro 8. Previously, data could be entered on the form by another Acrobat user, then opened in Illustrator CS3 by the artist to add artwork to the document. While open in Illustrator, none of the information entered on the form would be visible (the form would appear blank), but after saving the document and opening it in again in Acrobat Pro, both the artwork from Illustrator would appear and the information in the form fields would still be present as well as editable.
    Now I take the same form, I can fill out the data fields in Acrobat Pro 9, save, then add artwork in Illustrator CS4 and save it, all form data is lost and I'm not able to add anything to it in Acrobat Pro 9. (Illustrator seems to be breaking the form and wiping out any info that was previously entered onto the form).
    Any ideas on how to get around this? I tried taking the original document and running it through the forms wizard to sort of re-make the form in Acrobat 9, but I still lose form functionality and information once I save it in Illustrator CS4.

    Actually found a SOLUTION!
    I guess in Adobe infinite wisdom and my lack of formal training in adobe acrobat
    i was unaware of the TouchUp Object Tool (Tools>Advanced Editing>TouchUp Object Tool) it allows you to delete images and Place new images (although doesn't allow placement of .ai or .eps, just compressed images)
    Can also nudge and remove other objects.
