Blank lines in create user statement

Hi everyone,
DataModeler still has problems with blank lines in statements. My "create user" statements look like
CREATE USER HTTPUSR
IDENTIFIED BY httpusr
DEFAULT TABLESPACE HTTP_BIG
TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP
QUOTA UNLIMITED ON HTTP_BIG
QUOTA UNLIMITED ON HTTP_LOG
QUOTA UNLIMITED ON HTTP_SMALL
ACCOUNT LOCK
and fail. I have to remove the blank lines manually.
Is this a known bug or a new one?

Bug 14248076 resolved for DM 3.1.2.704 and DM 3.2.0.720

  • "The CREATE USER statement must be the only statement in the batch" in SQL Azure - why? what to do?

    I'm getting an error on a line in the middle of a larger sql script, only in SQL Azure.
    IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.database_principals WHERE name = N'foouser')
    CREATE USER [foouser] FOR LOGIN [foouser] WITH DEFAULT_SCHEMA=[dbo]
    GO
    Error: "The CREATE USER statement must be the only statement in the batch."
    I don't actually understand what 'the only statement in the batch' means.
    What is a batch? Is it a SQL file? Is it related to a 'GO' statement or an 'IF' statement? What is the reason for the error? And how do I avoid it?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    >IF...ELSE imposes conditions on the execution of a Transact-SQL statement
    I understand the general purpose of an If statement. I could let go of our definition of statement counting disagreeing too except that because of the error I'm stuck.
    It's less important for Create User but what I am really puzzled over now is a very similar issue how am I supposed to do a safe version of CREATE LOGIN, when I don't know whether a login has been previously created on the server or whether I
    am setting up the database on a clean server?
    IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.server_principals WHERE name = N'foouser')
    CREATE LOGIN [foouser] WITH PASSWORD = 'asdfasdf'
    GO
    If I try and execute this script, it throws the same error as above.
    The first unworkable workaround idea is to omit the if statement
    CREATE LOGIN [foouser] WITH PASSWORD = 'asdfasdf'
    GO
    But if the login already exists on the server (because a similar script was already run), then the script throws an error.
    The second unworkable workaround idea is to do
    DROP LOGIN [foouser]
    GO
    CREATE LOGIN [foouser] WITH PASSWORD = 'asdfasdf'
    GO
    Obviously this throws an error in the second block if the login doesn't already exist on the server.
    The third workaround idea I have is to go conditional by putting an IF condition around DROP instead of CREATE:
    Unfortunately that doesn't work for me either!
    "The DROP LOGIN statement must be the only statement in the batch"
    (This is despite the fact that 'drop login' is listed on the
    supported commands page, not the partially supported page..?! Which disagrees with the notes on
    this page.)
    Anyway the real question I am interesting in addressing is: is there actually a way to have a 'Create/Delete login
    if exists' operation which is SQL-Azure compatible and doesn't throw me error messages (which messes with the sql execution tool I am using)?
    If there is no way, I would like to believe it's because it would be a bad idea to do this. But in that case why is it a bad idea?

  • Exclude create user statements using datapump API

    I’m trying to perform a schema import and exclude the "create user" statements using the datapump API but I can’t get the syntax correct for the dbms_datapump.metadata_filter call.
    Using impdp I use a parfile that includes the following statements:
    schemas=bob, john
    exclude=user
    How do I achieve the same effect using the dbms_datapump.metadata_filter API?
    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

    Did you ever figure out your issue? I'm having the same issue after I try to set attributes.

  • Create user statement on Procedures

    Hi,
    How to use create user command in oracle procedure.
    Whenever I am using the statemet create user <username> identified by <password> it gives me the error. But whenever I am removing this statement the procedure is compiling successfully.
    Is there anyway to use create user statement inside procedure?
    Regards,
    Indraneel

    You have to use dynamic sql :
    SQL> begin
      2  execute immediate ('create user test_user identified by test_user');
      3  end;
      4  /
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL>Of course the command should be completed with other information (e.g. default tablespace, temporary tablespace, and so on).

  • Finding create user statement using the export dump

    I have an Oracle export dump and it is a schema level export only.
    Is there any way that I can get the create user statement from that dump using import full=y show=y ?
    How do I identify the create user statement once I did the show=y

    Yes with full export this is possible because full export will create all schemas but this is not possible with schema level export because schema level import does not recreate schema.

  • Can I block the blank lines in delivery note?

    Hi Experts,
    I want to block the blank lines when creating or changing delivery note because  I don't want user to add new items manually.
    Can I realize such a requirement?
    Hope anyone can give me some solution.
    Thanks.
    Best regards,
    Chris Gu

    Go to OVLK,  select the delivery type and execute.  There maintain routine 201 against the field ItemRequirement.  Similarly, for new item category, go to zero184  and donu2019t maintain any item category under the tab MItC

  • Creating users via the admin console

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a user via the admin console. The user will have to
    authenticate via Membership, and will require a username and password.
    However, when creating the user via the admin console it does not allow you
    to specify a default password (or by using the command line 'ipsadmin create
    user /domain/user.xml', unless there is some XML field specified in the file
    to do that? If so, what is it? Specify an attribute in the
    "iwtAuthMembership-password"?) After creating a user via the console, I
    tried logging in using a blank password and a password the same as the
    username, but neither worked. Is this password set as default to something,
    and if so to what?
    Also, is there some existing means for a user who has already created a
    membership account to change their password? If not, then I guess I will
    have to develop some code to modify the "iwtAuthMembership-password"
    attribute.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi,
    After you have created the user via the console, then the user will be added to a particular role.From the console go that particular domain and then to the role under which the user was created.Then select the Users link you can see the users list.From that list select the user for whom a password is needed,then it will lead you to a screen where you can see a link named Authentication.Expand that link and click on the Membership link there you can enter the username and password for the user

  • How to remove blank lines in the end of list .

    hi,
    in a complex report ,when there are only 20 pages,and linecount is 65(2) ,in the last page only 27 lines are filled and data is completed.then blank lines are printing from 27th line to 63 line.then end of page is triggering.
    so plz help me how to remove the blank lines here and immediately print the endof page.

    Hi,
    will this work for you.
    SET BLANK LINES OFF.
    These statements allow you to specify whether you want to output blank lines or not. Use SET BLANK LINES ON to output blank lines or SET BLANK LINES OFF to suppress them.

  • How to skip blank line (EOF char) at the end of the file while creating ?

    Hi,
    In my program I have to create a file in Text mode using OPEN DATASET statement. This file is being sent to a third party system for their processing. I came to know while creating the file using OPEN DATASET, one LF character is inserted end of the file resulting a blank line end of the file. Thus if my internal table contains 5 reocrds, in the created text file I can see 6 lines where last is a blank. My question is how to remove this blank line which is causing issue in the thirdparty system.
    Here is the Code I have used.
       TRY.
    Write the file in Text Mode
            OPEN DATASET lv_outpf FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING NON-UNICODE
                                 WITH SMART LINEFEED
                                  MESSAGE lv_msg.
            IF lv_msg IS NOT INITIAL.
              WRITE / lv_msg.
              EXIT.
            ENDIF.
            LOOP AT itab_new INTO st.
              TRANSFER st TO lv_outpf.
            ENDLOOP.
            CLOSE DATASET   lv_outpf.
          CATCH cx_root.                                    "#EC No Handler
        ENDTRY.

    an effective way to do it:
    open your dataset in binary mode, transfer the records but between each record transfer the LF (or CRLF according to your need)
    after the last record you don't transfer the LF

  • Create Users with Mail enabled in dscl or command line

    I have figured out how to use the dscl to add a user.
    example:
    $ sudo dscl . create /users/rothman uid 701
    $ sudo dscl . create /users/rothman gid 20
    $ sudo dscl . create /users/rothman realname "Ernest Rothman"
    $ sudo dscl . create /users/rothman passwd \*
    I went as far as to launch WorkGroup manager to enable Mail.
    The following gave me the key values:
    dscl . read /Users/test MailAttribute > mailsettings.txt
    When I try to replace from the txt file. WorkGroup Manager than believes the Mail is not enabled.
    How do I use dscl or a terminal command to enable the user with mail server and to use IMAP Only?
    I do not want to always have to remotely connect to launch Workgroup Manager to enable mail for new users.
    I hope you can help for I am new dscl or even NetInfo command line tools.
    I have tried these, but I guess it does't like how it is being restored into that property.
    dscl . create /Users/test MailAttribute `< mailsettings.txt`
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <dict>
    <key>kAPOPRequired</key>
    <string>APOPNotRequired</string>
    <key>kAltMailStoreLoc</key>
    <string></string>
    <key>kAttributeVersion</key>
    <string>Apple Mail 1.0</string>
    <key>kAutoForwardValue</key>
    <string></string>
    <key>kIMAPLoginState</key>
    <string>IMAPAllowed</string>
    <key>kMailAccountLocation</key>
    <string>192.168.181.132</string>
    <key>kMailAccountState</key>
    <string>Enabled</string>
    <key>kPOP3LoginState</key>
    <string>POP3Deny</string>
    <key>kUserDiskQuota</key>
    <string>0</string>
    </dict>
    I have also tried appending by doing something like this.
    dscl . create /Users/test MailAttribute '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<dict>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kAPOPRequired</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string>APOPNotRequired</string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kAltMailStoreLoc</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string></string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kAttributeVersion</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string>Apple Mail 1.0</string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kAutoForwardValue</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string></string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kIMAPLoginState</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string>IMAPAllowed</string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kMailAccountLocation</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string>192.168.181.132</string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kMailAccountState</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string>Enabled</string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kPOP3LoginState</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string>POP3Deny</string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<key>kUserDiskQuota</key>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘<string>0</string>’
    dscl . append /Users/test MailAttribute ‘</dict>’

    Got it to take as a single statement.
    dscl . create /users/test applemail "<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <dict> <key>kAPOPRequired</key> <string>APOPNotRequired</string> <key>kAltMailStoreLoc</key> <string></string> <key>kAttributeVersion</key> <string>Apple Mail 1.0</string> <key>kAutoForwardValue</key> <string></string> <key>kIMAPLoginState</key> <string>IMAPAllowed</string> <key>kMailAccountLocation</key> <string>192.168.181.132</string> <key>kMailAccountState</key> <string>Enabled</string> <key>kPOP3LoginState</key> <string>POP3Deny</string> <key>kUserDiskQuota</key> <string>0</string> </dict>"
    Doing the above showed in WorkGroup manager and I tested and the user received a email, so now I can automate adding users without needing the GUI. *Just to note you still have to setup mail services and your virtual, aliases files for postfix. This is just so the user is opened up to be allowed to receive email in the first place.
    I still could not seem to pipe a file into dscl command even though the file was a single line of text. I had planned to embed this in a single command so no big deal.

  • Blank line in string value in insert statement causing problems

    I am generating an sql statement (insert) from an xml document using xsl transformation that is later run in an sqlplus session. The issue I am coming across is that one of the tags contains free-form text that can be any number of lines. Most strings are not causing a problem, but when there is a blank line in the string (two or more endline characters together) sqlplus seems to think this signifies the end of a statement. Here is an example that I hope will clarify what is being created.
    INSERT INTO MYTABLE VALUES('THIS WORKS', 0, NULL, ...);
    INSERT INTO MYTABLE VALUES('THIS
    ALSO
    WORKS', 0, NULL, ...);
    INSERT INTO MYTABLE VALUES('THIS
    DOES NOT
    WORK', 0, NULL, ...);
    Anyone seen this problem before or have a quick fix? All I can come up with is to pre-process the xml document (which, by the way, I have no control over the format as it comes from a client) to compress vertical whitespace. (This seems like overkill to me). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    I don't know if this will work for u.
    If ur string has more than one end of lines and u don't need them, u can replace them by a single space using
    replace(string,chr(13)||chr(10),' ').
    If this does not solve ur problem then probably ur srting has a special charachter. To remove it
    take the ascii value of the special character and then see what is the corresponding chr value and then use replace function in ur insert statement where u find this special character.
    I too face same kind of problem and this worked for me.

  • CRXI Export to text - suppressed section creates blank lines

    I'm using CRXI Proffesional - full version 11.5.11.1470
    I have a report that uses the typical "stealth" subreport to obtain and pass info to the container, but remains invisible in preview mode. The fields in the subreport are all suppressed, the sections in the subreport are suppressed if blank and the subreport itself is suppressed when blank, the section that contains the subreport is also suppressed if blank.
    This has always worked fine to get info into the container from the subreport while not creating any "white space" on the report.
    Print preview and export to pdf both function just fine, omitting the blank lines.
    It seems that exporting this to a text file is now creating blank lines for each occurence of the subreport.
    I have seen this problem in a couple of forums but have not seen a resolution yet.
    Does anybody have any idea how I can stop the exporting of suppressed blank sections ?

    Good morning.
    We've got something to get straight first
    When you say "...from the Report Viewer. The report printed as expected on HP printer...", do you mean the viewer of the .NET app, or the viewer of the CR designer?
    And version 12.0.0.683, is very old (well as far as CR is concerned anyhow   ). That version is SP 1, we are now on SP 2. So that will be the place to start. Get to SP 2 which can be downloaded from here;

    text3    21.0  14.0  30.0
    and so on...
    My requirement is to create blank line after text3. Since its currency field even i claer work area iam able to get 0.0.
    If i use no-zero in field catalog i will be able to get blank values for all 0.0, but thats not required.
    Can u help me out how to crate blank line after one set of values(text1, text2, text3) in alv display
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If i use no-zero, then all 0.0 will be replaced by blank, but that is not required.
    I want only blank line to be displayed after set of line items.
    Skip doesn't help in alv. Secondly if i append blank work area i will be getting 0.0 as it is a currency field.
