Blank space in Amount field

Hello All,
I have one clarification.I have one field called amount.Its value is taken as 0.00 from the table. I have to make it as blank.I have made it as blank to that field in display pattern properties by setting as * in adobe designer. This is suitable for print form. In case of interactive form how can this be done to achieve the functionality.If the value is given from the other side to the amount value its not taking since in display pattern it has been set  as *.Can anybody help me out to solve this issue.
This is very urgent.I will reward you with points.
Thanks,
Swapna

  • Simple??? Want "INSERT" function to return blank space after a field, how?

    All,
    Am I just having a brain fart? I have a situation where I have a field that needs to return just one space, or a value that has a space before and after it.
    Example:
    In the text ==> I am<field>going to the office. <-- notice no space between am, <field> and going
    I want it to say if FALSE, then "I am *not* going to the office."
    If true, then "I am going to the office."
    If true, I'm simply RETURN(""); <-- This returns a blank space
    If FALSE, I have tried:
    ret="not"
    RETURN(" " & ret & " ");
    This returns "I am notgoing to the office". <-- Notice no blank space after "not"?
    I've tried
    ret="not";
    ret2=(" " & ret);
    RETURN(Insert(ret2, 3, " "));
    Still the same result. What's strange is, if I do a RETURN(Insert(ret2, *2*, " "));, then it returns "I am no tgoing to the office" <-- Notice the space between the "o" and the "t"?
    Ideas?

    Trailing spaces are often removed from data. In your case, the easiest thing to do will be to use what is called the "hard space" character instead of a "real" space. This is key code ALT+0160. For all intent and purposes, it looks like a space and will print as a space, but since it is not technically the space (0032) character, it will not be trimmed from your projects. Just open the quotes, turn off the NUMLOCK and hold down the ALT key and type 0160 and then release the ALT key. This will add the hard space into your string. Then if you are like me, you will have to remember to turn the NUMLOCK back on.
    " not "
    I'm not sure how this will post into this message, but the example above is using hard space characters.

  • Leading blank space in text field

    Hi guys,
    i have defined include type in designer(adobe) to display text from SO item. which is working very much fine.
    If the SO item text is maintained with leading tabs, adobe is able to show the text exactly.
    But if the SO item text is maintained with leading spaces, adobe is defaulting value to left by deleting the leading spaces.
    I need to show the value in mirror image. Hence i need to retain the leading spaces in adobe too.
    Appreciate valuable suggestions

    HI,
    Yes, you are right. I was checking weather we could handle this without scripting.
    Moreover, can anyone check whatz wrong with this source. I am trying to pad tab infront of the field value.
    But its not happeing.

  • File Content Conversion Removes Leading Blank/Space

    I'm having a problem where file content conversion is trimming leading blanks/space/whitespace from fields when reading in the inbound file.  I've seen where people have posted that you need to use fieldContentFormatting to prevent content conversion from stripping the leading/trailing whitespace.  I added that parameter to my list (see below example) but it still appears to be trimming the leading whitespace.  Look forward to hearing your thoughts.  Here are the details:
    I'm using fixed length file content conversion for Sender File Adapter (SP15).  I have the following parameters set:
    Document Name = MaterialData
    Recordset name = item
    Recordset Structure = MaterialLine, 1
    I have:
    MaterialLine.fieldNames = matno_external, mat_description
    MaterialLine.fieldFixedLengths = 40, 40
    MaterialLine.fieldContentFormatting = nothing, nothing
    The following is the input file (notice spaces prior to second occurrence of material numbers)

    Thanks all for your attempts but I figured it out and wasn't this the biggest case of irony.
    Here I was trying to prevent leading spaces from being trimmed in the loading of my file and my problem was that when I typed:
    MaterialLine.fieldContentFormatting
    I actually left a "blank" at the end of the "g" in Formatting.  Apparently XI didn't like that and neither gave me a runtime or compile error.  Anyway I found this and though I'd share in case anyone else encounters it.  I removed the blank and all is working now.

    Hi All,
    I have an input field which is alphanumeric and i need to remove the leading zeros and blank spaces in it , but intermediate spaces should be kept .

            String output = input.replaceFirst("^0+","");
            return output;
    but this code does not remove the leading blank spaces . Can anybody help in modifying this code so that even the leading blank spaces along with leading zeros  can be removed .

  • Blank spaces at the end of an IDoc text field get lost when posted to R/3

    Hi Guys,
    I am facing the following issue:
    In an XML file-to-Idoc scenario, there are spaces at the end of a text field in the inbound XML file, which I can see when I open the inbound file with a text editor like notepad, and they are kept after XI mapping is executed (I can see them in message mapping simulator). However, it seems that these spaces get lost once the IDoc is posted to SAP R/3 and they are not visible on SAP R/3 side.
    Do you have any idea ? Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Evaggelos Gkatzios

    That means SAP is removing the spaces from IDoc fields, where you spaces are not allowed. Does it create any problem?
    Thanks,
    Nabendu.

  • Blank Spaces in the report

    <p>Hi </p><p>My Report has some columns which has the option as "Can Grow" so that when the returned value from the database is more that one line it can accomdate the data in the field.</p><p>The problem i am facing is that when the records are printed in the pages and when the next record is unable to fit in the remaning section of the report it automatically pushes to the next page.<br />In this scenario the previous page has blank space after the next record is printed.</p><p>Is there way that i can suppress this balnk space and force teh record to be printed in the same page and when the page is over it follows in the next page.</p><p>Thanks in Advance<br />Moa</p>

    <p>My problem was that I wanted to display several lines in a total field: order amount, minimum charge, delivery charge and tax. When any of them was zero, I needed to hide it without leaving a big gap. </p><p>Here was the solution: </p><p>Create a textbox. Set the textbox&#39;s "Suppress blank lines in embeded fields" property. <br />Instead of using database field (for example, table.fieldValue) and a label, create a formula that says:  </p><blockquote><p>If isNull{table.fieldValue} then </p><p>    "" </p><p>else </p><p>"Value:" + Chr(9) + ToText({table.fieldValue})   </p></blockquote><p>I placed a tab in this formula to space it out. Add tab stops (one left-aligned, one decimal) to your textbox, and drag the formula into it (embed) instead of the database field. Add the other fields to the textbox as well, separating fields by adding carriage returns. Bingo. The field and the line will disappear when there is no data.</p><p> I hope this helps.</p>

  • How to use blank space replace NULL on discoverer viewer

    Hi,
    There is a report that has a varchar field should show text values, and if NULL, I need it show blank space, and does in disco desktop, but on viewer, the same worksheet shows NULL.
    Even I changed in the Tools - Options - Format menu(desktop), it still show NULL on viewer.
    why?
    please help! thanks!
    sammy

    Hi Sammy,
    Unfortunately ‘some’ of the settings set in Desktop do not carry over to Viewer. These options need to be defined for Viewer itself.
    A temporary way to set the Viewer settings is to click on ‘Options’ when logged in Viewer itself. You’ll have to open a responsibility or report before this option becomes available to select. Within here you’ll be able to change the way NULL values are seen. However this method only makes the change for the User you logged in with.
    To make the change for all users, it’s best to edit the PREF.TXT file on the Discoverer Server. Please view the documentation below for more information on how to configure Viewer. For windows platform click here : http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/A90287_01/toc.htm,
    For Unix platform click here : http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/A90288_01/toc.htm. Once you’ve run the applypreference script, these settings will be forced down to all users of Discoverer.
    Hopefully this will help ;-)

  • RTF Template Blank Spaces Issue

    Hi,
    I have one issue in the RTF File. I have developed templates for the dunning letter report.
    If i have only one line in the main body table and below this table i have some contents information for the customer to print in the report. The issue is there is blank spaces between the table and the contents when i am printing one or two invoices in the report.
    I want to remove this blank spaces and bring the contents information to print just below the table even it is sinle report or many records in the report.
    please guide me if any one come accross with this issue.
    with regards
    Ram

    Hi,
    Make sure there are no spaces before/after your form fields - put them on their own line with no spaces in between. On their own line they don't generate an extra line.
    If you are still having problems email me the xml and rtf ggr888 [AT] gmail [D0T] com

  • How to delete blank space from value of Infoobject in the transfer rule

    does anyboady know how to write a routine in the transfer rule in order to delete ending blank spaces from value of Infoobject 'ORDTEXT'. E.g. value: 'ABM    '?  After routine, the result should be 'ABM'.
    Thanks for any input.

    Deleting 'ending blank spaces' from a character type field (ie info-object or text) in SAP is not meaningful. For all usage, a char type field of length 8 having value  'ABM     '  is same as 'ABM'.
    Ok, HTML is changing the display in the above, so let me restate it
    For all usage, a char type field of length 8 having value  'ABM_____'  is same as 'ABM', take the underscore character (_) in the first string as a placeholder for space character.

  • Issues in exporting SSRS report to PDF format in Report Server - Blank spaces are deleted

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a problem in exporting SSRS report to PDF format. It deletes all the blank spaces when I use bullet in a Text box and try to export to PDF formt in Report Server . For example
    •             Project submitted to the TRC
    Result in PDF format:
         • ProjectsubmittedtotheTRC
    I also noted that when I try to export to PDF in Visual Stuio 2005 (Business Intelligence development studio), it does not delete any blank spaces and shows the correct aligned Data in PDF format.
    Please help me as it is frustrating a lot
    I would highly appreciate for your quick response

    Was there ever a solution found for this as i have the same issue.
    When bullet point is entered in a field all the spaces are removed when exported to PDF
    i tried exporting to excel and it does not remove spaces, however this is no use to me as it needs to be in PDF
    Using IE 7 (Don't think the browser has anything to do with it as this happened via a subscription)
    Didn't know SSRS had specific Service Packs, i though they came as patches to SQL Server (SQL Server is on Service Pack 3)
    This should be easy to replicate all you need to do is copy text containing a bullet point into a sql server database field and then add this field to a report export to pdf and the spaces are gone
    Thanks in advance,
