BLOB Error with JDBC driver 8.1.5

Hello.
I tried to run the sample code that I got from OTN, but
I couldn't run it because of some errors.
Would you please help me?

I got it from "SQLJ & JDBC Advanced Samples" in OTN.

Hi,
The method getBytes() does not work, and produce the following
error, when the size is big.
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-21560: argument 2 is null, invalid, or
out of range
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 458
ORA-06512: at line 1
Since getchunksize() will also produces the same error as
getBinaryStream() ('GETCHUNKSIZE' must be declared) therefore, I
have no idea how to find the best value to chop the data to
retrieve it, except try and error. The example I am working on
32000 bytes seems to be the ideal size, and it causes error when
the size get bigger. I am currently working on a NT server. I
guess the ideal size can differ from server to server. Does
anyone has better suggestion to get the ideal size?

  • Java.sql.SQLException: Error accessing jdbc driver

    Hi,
We are using WebLogic Server 7.0 as Application Server.
We now create a connection pool named regPool and
    a Tx datasource named regDS.
When we get the connection from the datasource, exception occurred.
java.sql.SQLException: Error accessing jdbc driver: driverURL =

So I guess that why we can't use CMP for finding data. Here is the error when we call the finder.

According to the exception message, it looks
like the connection fail between WLS and Oracle 9.2.
Here is a scenario I think you should need to know.
    I change the table-name in the weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml
to a name that doesn't exist in the database.
Then, re-package the EJB, copy it to server and restart the server.
A exception occurred that says the table doesn't exist.
So, in this case, it looks like the datasource works and
    connection is fine.
    Any recommendation will be appreciated.

  • New e-Sourcing 5.0 Install - Error checking JDBC Driver version

    Hi  All,
I am currently attempting to install an e-Sourcing 5.0 Patch Level E instance on a Windows system using Oracle 10.2.0.3 and WebLogic 8.1 SP4.  e-Sourcing's installation and configuration complete without issue.  The schema in the database is loaded with the e-Sourcing tables and data.
However, when attempting to deploy the ear file via WebLogic, I receive the following JDBC error:
Error checking JDBC Driver version. Detail: Error: found unsupported JDBC Driver name: Oracle JDBC driver version: 10.1.0.2.0.
The JDBC driver in use is from  my Oracle install ..\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar
I've also tried classes12.jar for versions 9.2.0.8, 10.1.0.2, and 10.2.0.1 but always receive the same error (...driver version: 10.1.0.2.0...) message regardless of the version of driver I am using.
    Error Log:

Given that the database is loaded with the tables and data I know my instance can connect to the DB.  Does anyone know why the deployment would complain that the JDBC driver is incorrect?  Is there a way to disable the check and complete the server startup?  Is there only a single specific driver that is acceptable for this e-Sourcing version?
    Thanks,
    Greg

    The issue is still occurring.
The Supported Platform documentation indicates that the Oracle JDBC thin driver 10.2.0.1.0 is the supported driver.  I have tried both the Classes12.jar and ojdbc14.jar for this version of driver.
What is odd about this error is that it always displays the same message and version #, no matter what version of driver I use.
"found unsupported JDBC Driver name: Oracle JDBC driver version: 10.1.0.2.0"  (I execute setup and configuration each time I use a different driver to ensure the ear file is updated)
I have also tried using a different Driver Class path.  The installation guides for 5.0 and 5.1 indicate Driver Class as oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver.  I have also tried oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver for a few of the versions with no success.  I still receive the same error at the same point.
If anyone has run into a similar situation any suggestions or tips to resolving the issue would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Greg

    Gaetano,
I see you took my advice when I replied to your Error with OCI8 driver installing sendmail/javamail.
However, it doesn't look like you studied the Oracle documentation for loadjava because the command you posted doesn't look right at all.
Please refer to the Java Developer's Guide for the correct syntax and usage of the loadjava command.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

I am not sure why it is not able to get the Driver since the required jar is there in lib folder? Am I missing something ?

    Hi,
Make sure you have set the Classpath in CRConfig.xml for the jdbc jar.
Place the CrConfig.xml  in the classes directory of your application.
Please let me know the results.

    Hi,
try looking into the log viewer in Vsual Administrator. Usually you can find more information about the problem there.
Also try redeploying the driver again.

The optical drive has probably failed. It's a fairly common thing with these slim SuperDrives. Does it read any discs you put into it? You can try resetting the SMC and pram but I'll be surprised if it helps.
    To reset the SMC
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on
    Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

There is a chance that the optical drive &/or its cable have failed
so a replacement, perhaps in the form of a third-party quality drive
may be in order. The Apple USB Superdrive does not directly work
with older computers that have internal optical drives; but there are
good ones by other makers, owners of older MacBook portables use.
    {There may also be a Console error message failure-related code.}
Or see about the ifixit guide to repair that model MacBook & a
replacement part from OWC, to survey efforts & costs to DIY.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How to handle ORA-28001 error with JDBC thin driver ?

    Dear reader,
As you all know, ORACLE returns error ORA-28001 upon a connection attempt when the user's password has expired.
Handling the error in OCI is quite simple, thanks to the function OCIPasswordChange(). However, I have not been able to find a JAVA equivalent in the Oracle JDBC library.
I have found a field called oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver.set_new_password_string, and a field oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection.CONNECTION_PROPERTY_SET_NEW_PASSWORD, but I have really no idea on how to use them (if appropriate) so as to allow the user to change his/her password on the fly.
I greatly appreciate having any advice from anyone who happened to be faced with that problem.
    Best regards.
    Georges BREFORT

    Hi,
according to Note [124970.1 Example: How to Change an Expired Password in JDBC?|https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:2181952130729466734::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,124970.1,1,1,1,helvetica] it's possible with JDBC Thick (OCI) driver only.

  • Problem with JDBC driver for Oracle 10g

    Hi.
I've successfully accessed a MySQL database via a DataSource from a servlet (that uses a DAO). However, when I try to do the same with an Oracle 10g Database, I get the error message:
Cannot load JDBC driver class 'oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver'
I'm using J2SE1.5.0/5.0 and ojdbc14.jar, the latter of which I downloaded this afternoon as the latest driver JAR available on the Oracle site. As with the MySQL driver, I've placed it in the commons\lib folder within Tomcat. (I've also, of course, made the necessary modifications to server.xml and web.xml.)
Upon examining the ReadMe file at the top of the Oracle download page, I found that the oracle.jdbc.driver package is now deprecated and all references to oracle.jdbc.driver should be replaced with oracle.jdbc. However, I got a similar error message when I tried this modification. Upon examining the contents of ojdbc.jar, I found that the driver was there and that it was, in fact, still oracle\jdbc\driver\OracleDriver!
It appears as though the Oracle site has not been updated with a driver that matches its latest documentation. However, this does not explain why the driver is not even being loacted when it is in the correct place. Can anybody shed any light on this? Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in anticipation.
    Cheers.
    Jan

I've successfully accessed a MySQL database via a
DataSource from a servlet (that uses a DAO). However,
when I try to do the same with an Oracle 10g
Database, I get the error message:
Cannot load JDBC driver class 'oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver'
    That's different from a ClassNotFoundException.
    >
    I'm using J2SE1.5.0/5.0 and ojdbc14.jar, the latter
of which I downloaded this afternoon as the latest
driver JAR available on the Oracle site. So you got ojdbc14.jar or ojdbc14_g.jar under the 10g drivers?
    As with the
MySQL driver, I've placed it in the commons\lib
folder within Tomcat. I think it's a better idea to put in the WEB-INF/lib directory of your Web app rather than commons/lib. WAR files are a very good idea, too.
(I've also, of course, made the
necessary modifications to server.xml and web.xml.)So you're using a JNDI data source? It sounds to me like that's where the problem is.
You should not have to edit the server.xml at all. If you put the <ResourceParams> in a context XML file with the same name as your WAR file into the TOMCAT_HOME/webapps directory it'll be picked up automatically. (It might also be accessible in the META-INF directory for your app, but I haven't done it that way.)
Upon examining the ReadMe file at the top of the
Oracle download page, I found that the
oracle.jdbc.driver package is now deprecated and all
references to oracle.jdbc.driver should be replaced
    with oracle.jdbc.
However, I got a similar error
message when I tried this modification. Upon
examining the contents of ojdbc.jar, I found that the
driver was there and that it was, in fact, still
oracle\jdbc\driver\OracleDriver! The fully-resolved class name you should be using MUST match the class that's in the ojdbc14.jar that you're using. Look in the JAR for the definitive answer: the one that I downloaded is still using the oracle.jdbc.driver package for OracleDriver.class. Ignore the docs - use the name that's in the JAR.
It appears as though the Oracle site has not been
updated with a driver that matches its latest
documentation. That often happens with docs.
However, this does not explain why the
driver is not even being loacted when it is in the
correct place. Can anybody shed any light on this?
Any help would be much appreciated.I think the problem lies in your web.xml and server.xml
I'd recommend that you decouple the JDBC from the Web app for now. See if you can connect to Oracle using a simple desktop app and leave the Web piece out of the equation for now. Once you can do that, you'll be certain that the parameters you're using are correct and you can turn your attention to getting the Tomcat configuration right.
PS - I'm using Oracle 9.2.0.1 and Tomcat successfully right now, so it can be done.

  • Error deploying JDBC driver for SQL Server 2005

    Hi all
I'm trying to deploy a JDBC driver for MS SQL Server 2005 (downloaded [here|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C47053EB-3B64-4794-950D-81E1EC91C1BA&displaylang=en]). When I try to deploy it according to the instructions found [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/51/735d4217139041e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] it fails.
The error in the logs doesn't give any useful information though. It only says Error occurred while deploying component ".\temp\dbpool\MSSQL2005.sda".
Has anyone else deployed a driver for SQL Server 2005, or perhaps have any suggestions of what else I could try?
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi Vladimir
That's excellent news! Thanks for the effort you've put into this. I'm very impressed with how seriously these issues are dealt with, specifically within the Java EE aspects of SAP.
May I make two suggestions on this topic:
    1. Given that NWA has such granular security permissions, please could the security error be shown when it is raised? This would help immediately identify that the problem isn't actually a product error, but rather a missing security permission (and thus save us time and reduce your support calls).
    2. Please could the role permissions be clearly documented (perhaps they already are, and I just couldn't find the docs?) so we know what is and isn't included in the role. The name is very misleading, as a "superadmin" is generally understood to have no limitation on their rights - so clear documentation on what is in-/excluded would be most helpful.
On a related topic, I came across another issue like this that may warrant your attention (while you're already looking into NWA security issues). I logged a support query about it (ref: 0120025231 0000753421 2008) in case you can retrieve details there (screenshots, logs, etc.). It's basically a similar security constraint when trying to create a Destination. I'm not sure if this is something you would like to include as standard permissions within the NWA_SUPERADMIN role or not, but I think it's worth consideration.
    Thanks again for your help!
    Cheers

  • Packet errors with JDBC

    Hello all,
I have been grinding my teeth over this problem. We are getting SQLExceptions with "unexpected packet", "invalid packet lenght" (including the spelling-error), and "bad packet type". We have absolutely no clue whatsoever what might be causing this. Running on Oracle 10g, and driver version 10.2.0.3.0.
Has anyone ever run into these problems and can they give me the cause, and even the workaround??
    Version information:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Implementation-Vendor: Oracle Corporation
    Implementation-Title: ojdbc14.jar
    Implementation-Version: Oracle JDBC Driver version - "10.2.0.3.0"
    Implementation-Time: Fri Sep 29 09:43:24 2006
    Specification-Vendor: Oracle Corporation

We are using driver 11.1.07 with a patch for the "arguments > 7" dreaded bug (Oracle Metalink Note ID 736273.1) and still get this error, so don't waste your time thinking that a driver upgrade to 11.1.07 will help.
Also the error message is still misspelt in their message.properties ...
    INVALID_PKT_LENGTH=Invalid Packet Lenght
    Any response from Oracle?

I think that you may be trying to construct an SQL query using some logic. Is that right?
I hav encountered this problem when trying these types of code - If possible please debug the code and see if there is any particular case in which the SQL string in which the command is saved becomes null.
When it is null or blank - the SQL Driver will throw such an error.
Also, if you can elaborate more on the problem - I can give you some more help.
    Thanks.
