Blogs in NW Enterprise Portals

Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for my question, however here it is
In our company, we're in process of deploying our first EP. And one functionality we'd like to have/integrate is the capability of writing blogs.
Is there any standard module in the EP for making blogs or do we have to integrate third party products?
Thnx a lot in advanced.
Xavier

Hi Xavier,
This really depends on what kind of functionality you want to offer. In general, KM provides many things one could imagine, and for example using the XML Forms one could imagine to create BLOGs this way.
But this is really project work to get the detailed specification and to check what and how it could be implemented using standard KM functionality.
Hope it helps
Detlev

  • If the Enterprise Portal have a default page for creating a blog?

    Hello!
I want to know if the Enterprise Portal have a default page for creating something like a blog, with personal information, comments...
can I using the tool XML Form Builder or something else?
       Thank
       lexian

    Hi Lexian,
I don't believe the Portal currently has any tool that can be used conveniently to create blog type content.
You are right, you could potentially use the XML Forms Builder to create a form which might just about do what you want it to, but this would be very fiddley and is not really designed for this purpose.
If you can wait, you should use the WebPage Composer that is due to released in the Portal from April.
Here at SDN we are currently looking into using it to display our blogs and I must say research is looking good so far.

  • Difference between using the Enterprise Portal and SAP GUI

    Hi Gurus,
Could one of you please send me a document that lists the differences between the Enterprise Portal and SAP GUI?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
For groups, managedBy is an administrative convenience to designate “group admins”. Whatever principal listed in
managedBy gets permission to update a group’s membership (the actual security is updated on the group’s AD object to allow this).
In Win2008 and later managedBy also became the way you delegated local administration on an RODC, allowing branch admins to install patches, manage shares, etc. (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755310(WS.10).aspx).
On the RODC, this is updating the RepairAdmin registry value within RODCRoles.
So the difference between them should be only the way they do the same thing.
For more details, please refer to the below article:

Microsoft Dynamics AX WebSession() is null in Enterprise Portal (EP) when running from a List Page.
The WebSession() works for a detail page, but nor a list page in EP.
Does anyone know of a workaround to this issue?
    Thanks.

  • Business Object, SAP BW and SAP Enterprise Portal

    Hello all,
I've a few questions about the possibility for linking Business Object, SAP BW and the SAP Enterprise Portal.
The Business Package MSS 1.41 give us a functionality to display (in a federated portal) personalized Budget and costs in an Overview Iview (kind of Welcome page).
Those information are retrieved from SAP BW and I'd like to know if it's possible to retrieve those data (with the same functionality) from Business Object tool.
Is it possible to have those personalized reports without having a direct link (standard architecture) between SAP BW and the federated portal?
Thank you in advance fro your answers.
    Matthieu

    Hi,
The procedure to replicate BW users in BO is explained in detail on the blog of Ingo Hilgefort:
