BMP image in HTMLEditor

I'm facing a strange problem with BMP image while trying to put it in HTMLEditorKit. I can easily put JPG image in HTMLEditorKit area. But while it's a BMP it can't house the image. Could someone help me find out the problem why it's not supporting BMP image?
Thanks

    Thanks in advance .
    Regards
    Dhaval..

    Hi Raje,
Try to take the print in inkjet or laserjet printer
    just for confirmation purpose .
if it prints in that and  doesn't print in dot matrix then the problem is with the dot matrix.
In that case ask the basis guys to install the relevent device driver for that dot matrix printer( as normally they would have installed some generic driver ).
    Hope this helps.

  • Preview doesn't display bmp image

Using Bootcamp, I saved a BMP image file of a windows screenshot. I can view the screenshot with Tiger & Preview properly, but when I open the file with Leopard & Preview, the entire image is blank except for the windows image resize buttons in the top right corner.
Using Leopard and Quicktime, I can view the image. Also I can display the image properly using Microsoft Word on Leopard. I cannot see the image when I insert it into Pages on Leopard.
Why is the BMP file viewable with only certain applications? Does Preview, under Leopard, no longer support BMP files?

I tried using the link you provided to report the problem to Apple, but it wouldn't log me in. Do you have to be a developer to use Bug Report? If so, perhaps a developer could confirm this as a problem, and report it.
I posted the offending BMP file to my iDisk account: http://idisk.mac.com/rush1-Public
Problem: On a Leopard system the BMP is not displayed properly using Preview or Pages, but it is viewable using QuickTime or MSWord.

    Runtime error : COMPUTE_INT_TIMES_OVERFLOW

    Thanks ,
    Srinivas Bhavanam

    Hi Oisin,
Sorry for the Late Reply. I am using IGS 6.40 with solaris system.
If i am converting the image from my desktop i am getting 96DPI resolution. Where as if i am doing it from IGS i am getting 30682172 DPI resolution.
I am using SAP 4.7. Is it the latest patch level or latest IGS supported.
    Short Dump :
    Runtime Error          COMPUTE_INT_TIMES_OVERFLOW
    Exception              CX_SY_ARITHMETIC_OVERFLOW
           Occurred on     03.03.2010 at   11:04:30
    Whole number overflow on multiplication.
    What happened?
    Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLSTXBITMAPS" had to be terminated because one of
    the
    statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
    What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
    error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
    date.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_ARITHMETIC_OVERFLOW',
    was neither
caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure
    "FILL_BMFILE_FROM_BMP" "(FORM)"
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
In the current program "SAPLSTXBITMAPS", multiplying the numbers 1207959552 and
100 (using the operation * or 'MULTIPLY') resulted in a value
greater than 2147483647 or smaller than -2147483648. This
results in a whole number overflow.
    How to correct the error
The exception must either be prevented, caught within the procedure
    "FILL_BMFILE_FROM_BMP"
"(FORM)", or declared in the procedure's RAISING clause.
To prevent the exception, note the following:
You may be able to split the process into separate components, so that
    the values generated are smaller.
If the error occurred in one of your own programs or in an SAP program
that you modified, try to correct it yourself.
If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the
    following documents to SAP:
    1. A hard copy print describing the problem.
To obtain this, select the "Print" function on the current screen.
    2. A suitable hardcopy prinout of the system log.
To obtain this, call the system log with Transaction SM21
and select the "Print" function to print out the relevant
       part.
    3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
       supply the source code.
To do this, you can either use the "PRINT" command in the editor or
print the programs using the report RSINCL00.
    4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

    for this I am using
ImageIO.write(img,"BMP",new File("a.bmp"));The problem is this[b] write method require an image of type Buffered Image.
I am not able to typecast an object of type Image into BufferedImage.
BufferedImage is subclass of Image class..

  • Scaling a bmp image

I need to scale a bmp image in the x-y directions independently of each other.  The zoom function doesn't work for my application because it locks the aspect ratio at 1:1.  I would like to import a bmp and have it scale automaticly to the size of a picture box on the front panel so that the image will fill up the picture box completely.
    1. Does anyone know how to change the scaling independently?
    2. Is it possible to convert a bmp image to excel data?  I also use the intensity chart function in this
application, where an excel file containing data points is loaded in and displayed on the chart.  I
noticed that the size of the excel data image scales itself to match the intensity chart are no matter
        what the area is.
    Any ideas on this one?
    Thanks,

An  implementation I did once can be found here.
It will stretch or "compress" the image as needed and can either
maintain its aspect ratio or distort it to fit a specific size. The quality isn't great, since it's lossy, but it works for me.
I don't work with the intensity chart, so I can't help you with that.

  • Error while Importing .bmp Images

    Hello All,
I'm getting an error when attempting to import a bitmap (*.bmp) image file into Flash Professional CS6. I tried both "Import to Library" and "Import to Stage" and they both throw the same error...
This is the Error I get when attempting the import:
"One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them."
After searching around online I found a few examples of people getting similar problems when importing stuff but none of those were for impoting .bmp images.
Any idea why I can't do this?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    EDIT:
I just tried downloaing a .bmp from the internet and was able to successfully import that, but still can't import the one I actuallty want. The bitmap that I want to import is one that I created using Gimp 2.8 and had to "export" it to .bmp format from Gimp's xcf file format...
    Thanks in Advance,
    Matt

Hey sinious, thanks for the reply!
Ok I'll just use the PNG format then... I was only trying BMP because I read that it had the bast image quality. I've been using PNG format for ALL my Frame's Backgrounds, but some of the Text that was part of the PNG Image (*i.e. part of the background image) looked choppy after importing it into my Library and setting it as the Frame's background. But it looks fine when viewing the image with any other "Image Viewer" type program.
Might be that it just looks a little choppy when "testing" the movie, by hitting Ctrl+Enter...
    EDIT:
Ok, so I just Published it and viewed it on another PC (*I have it setup to be able to be viewed from anywhere in the network using the flashpolicy file stuff) and it seems to look better after its Published... Maybe the quailty isn't as good when debugging/testing the movie...?
Thanks Again for your reply, much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Matt

    for (int i = 0; i < 3; i++)
//if the last third should be smaller (by 1 or 2 pixels, you could use the modulo operator here too)
    if (i * third + third > bmp.Width)
    third = bmp.Width - i * third;
    bmps[i] = bmp.Clone(new Rectangle(i * third, 0, third, bmp.Height), bmp.PixelFormat);
    return bmps;

My number of snaps are depending on the current position of my stepper motor. so i have put my image capture 'Freeze image' into the event structure of current position. as my current position changes my camera takes the image for each new value of current position. i have tried to implement ur suggestion please have a look at it and guide me where i am making blunder.
Note: Snap shot for the problematic area is attached.
    Regards,
    Rizi

  • Problems reading BMP images using ReadImage function

I am trying to load BMP images using the IMAQ Vision ReadImage function (VB6). The images load as monochrome images.
I use the CWIMAQViewer1.Pallette as a parameter in the command.
Note: The images load fine when using Vision Assistant or other image viewing software.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Sorry. Wrong forum. I'll repost on Machine Vision forum.
