BO Web service in Jboss

Hi,
We are planning to deploy BO web service provider and consumer application in JBOSS 4.2 enterprise edition on Linux RHEL 4. Currently, we are working with tomcat in windows.
The supported platforms list for BO XI R2 doesn't have JBOSS as supported java application server.
Will BO web service provider and consumer work properly without any issues in Jboss?
Any problems foreseen moving from tomcat to Jboss for BO web service?
Thanks,
Sasi

JBoss 4.0.4 was placed on the supported list in a Service Pack - it's certainly listed for XI Release 2 Service Pack 2 for Linux.
Sincerely,
Ted Ueda

  • Deploying web service on jBoss

    Hi,
    I have my application in JDeveloper. It haves EJB, and web services. I want to deploy it on JBoss 3.x. But can't figure out a way to deploy web-services on JBoss. Any help appreciated.

    JBoss isnt' a tested configuration for web services with JDeveloper.
    Make sure you have all the libraries available under JBoss, however this isn't something we've tried.

  • Really impossible to create a web service for JBoss using eclipse's WTP?

    I'm starting to get nuts!!!
    I'm an experienced J2SE and J2ME Java developer... but I have huge problems creating a web service using eclipse WTP!
    The tutorials I found are for tomcat... But I want to code for JBoss and not for tomcat...!!!
    There must be somebody out there with the same issues...
    This tutorial works fine for Tomcat...
    http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/community/tutorials/BottomUpWebService/BottomUpWebService.html
    But if I do the same with JBoss... it's not possible to incoke my web service method... ok, I thought... just need to check google... BUT I didn't find any solution in the whole WWW. Found a lot of questions of people with the same problems... but no solution! :(
    Still getting that:
    ERROR [EngineConfigurationFactoryServlet] Unable to find config file. Creating new servlet engine config file: /WEB-INF/server-config.wsdd
    I know a little bit what a wsdd does... but isn't it the job of the WTP to create that file???
    I really hope you have some places for me to start, 'cause I don't know anymore places to ask for...
    Maybe this is a JBoss issue... I don't know...
    Or is there a tutorial on how to create a web Service using JBoss IDE?
    Sascha

    Hi Massimo,
    Quiet a few points here.
    1. Oracle Type objects do not map to XML Complex type
    2. Oracle Type objects do not map to Apex Page Item Types
    3. Apex Page Item types are substituted into the WS Request XML by a process which is part of the Web Service Reference creation through the Wizard in Apex.
    >
    After created the web service (without any errors), I click on test.
    - I can select the Operation --> CREATE_LINGUA
    - I can input data for Basic Authentication
    - I can't view Input Parameters --> Report returned no rows.
    I've tried with normal type like Varchar2 and all was ok.
    Is possible in Apex to use web services based on complex type, tipically an Array?
    >
    As you have guessed the Wizard driven Web Service Reference definition process cannot handle complex types of input parameters required by a Request. By definition the number of complex types possible are infinite, so they are not likely to come built in.
    Passing an array is no solution because finally the values passed have to be plugged into the right SimpleTypes inside a ComplexType in the Request.
    Based on your WSDL your Request will be
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:cre="http://xmlns.oracle.com/orawsv/GRIMALDI/PKG_WEBSERVICES/CREATE_LINGUA">
       <soapenv:Header/>
       <soapenv:Body>
          <cre:SNUMBER-CREATE_LINGUAInput>
             <cre:PLINGUA-LINGUAT-CIN>
                <cre:LINGUAT>
                   <cre:CODICE>?</cre:CODICE>
                   <cre:DESCRIZIONE>?</cre:DESCRIZIONE>
                </cre:LINGUAT>
             </cre:PLINGUA-LINGUAT-CIN>
          </cre:SNUMBER-CREATE_LINGUAInput>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>However, all is not lost. You can always use the UTL_HTTP package API to construct your Request.

    As a quick fix, the class it can't find ("oracle.j2ee.ws.StatelessJavaRpcWebService") can be found in :

  • What are the steps to Migrate a Web Service from Tomcat to JBoss

    Hi,
    I am totally new to JBoss and need some help. I mostly worked on BEA and Oracle. I have a web service deployed on Tomcat that needs to be now migrated to JBoss. What are the steps in moving a web service from Tomcat to JBoss.
    Is there some step by step tutorial on developing and deploying a web service on JBoss along with sample build script.
    Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks

    R u using axis. If you want to stick with axis and don't want to use JBossWS there is nothing else you need to do. Move all the axis to Jboss. If you plan to reimplement all ur services in JBossWS here it is:

  • Web Service deployment problem

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to deploy a Stateless EJB 3.1 as a web service in JBoss 6.0 M5. I'm using maven to build the two projects (one for the ejb jar and one for the ear itself). My ejb looks like this:
    package com.company.testejb;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import javax.jws.WebMethod;
    @Stateless
    @WebService
    public class HelloService {
            @WebMethod
            public String hello() {
                    return "Hello, is it me you're looking for?";
    }My problem is that that the endpoint is: http://localhost:8280/testejb-1.0-SNAPSHOT/HelloService?wsdl. Is there a way I can turn it to testejb/HelloService?wsdl ?
    Thanks

    I guess it's your Ejb project issue , just change the project name to testejb, it should be OK

  • Can Web Services be synchronized

    Can Web services be synchronized ?
    Regards
    Dheeraj

    applications/modules can be developed to access a database, which can then be exposed as a WebService. So I guess the answer is yes. If you use a mapping framework, abstract it with EJB, or use DAO/JDBC and stick to a SQL command set common to all the databases you want to use, it could also be portable.
    Example of a Web Service for JBoss? -- see jboss.org I'd expect.
    The Oracle Database Web Service chapter in the Web Services documentation provides a good insight into some of the capabilities we have with Oracle Application Server to talk directly to an Oracle database.

  • Unable to deploy a war(includes web services)packaged into EAR on jboss 5.0

    I am new to web services and wanted to develop one
    I used the following softwares / IDE
    Eclipse 3.4.2
    Apache Ant 1.7
    Jboss AS 5.0.1
    JBoss ws 2.0
    jbossws-native-bin-dist 3.2.1GA
    sun jdk 1.6.0_12
    So i started off quite well configuring all that is required to create a web service
    i took the help of eclipse ide tools like create web service and create web service clients.
    when i created the web project in eclipse i selected the option add project to ear.
    and finally i start the jboss server with in eclipse and add project the ear file that contains the war file.
    just when i thought all is fine the server throws an error

    I have searched jira to find a solution for this , but i think i couldnt find an appropriate solution
    I am not sure if the search critirea i entered was close to the issue.

    When you say:
    I then copied the 10.1.3 Standalone OC4J to the Solaris 5.9 box which already has JDK 1.5 Update 12 installed. We extracted the OC4J to its own directory , set the Java_Home and the Oracle_Home environment variables and were able to
    startup the OC4J instance.
    We had some issues when extracting OC4J to its directory but there were no errors displayed on the screen ... Only when we tried starting up the OC4J instance , it started complaining about missing XML files .. This was resolved by manually extracting the XML's from the corresponding jars and placing them in the proper directories ..
    It sounds like you have some funky issues there with those missing XML files -- that is not expected or normal.
    Do you mean you copied the same oc4j_extended.zip to the server and unzipped it, or you zipped up the directories you were using on the Windows box, copied that over, and unzipped it?
    I don't know of any problems with Solaris, JDK5, U12.
    What about if you do this to remove any issues with the remote copy aspect of the deployment.
    1. Stop OC4J.
    2. Manually copy CISS.ear to /home/aplperdev1/ssp_java/oc4j/j2ee/home/applications/
    3. Edit the j2ee/home/config/server.xml file and add the entry to deploy the application
    4. Edit the j2ee/home/config/default-web-site.xml and bind any web-modules you need.
    5. Start the server and see what happens -- the application should be deployed.
    Also, what happens if you use the $JAVA_HOME/bin/jar to try and view the contents of the CISS.ear file?

    I would like to know which would be the best web service stack to use to write the client in the above mentioned scenario?
    TIA...

    Enable TCP/IP protocol. Select Microsoft SQL Server 2005>Configuration Tools>SQL Server Configuration Manager. In the SQL Server Configuration Manager select the node SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration>Protocols for SQLEXPRESS. Right-click on the TCP/IP node and select Enable. Restart the SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) service. Right-click on the SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) service in Services and select Restart.

  • Using JBoss for web services

    hi,
    I have to do an academic project that invovles writing web services to interoperate between a .NET client wriiten in C# with server side logic written with EJB 2.0. Initially, i was inclined to use WebLogic, but i wonder if JBoss along with the Jetty Web Server is a good alternative to WebLogic.
    Could some pls help me in this regard
    regards,
    vishwak

    It is free and it performs as well as weblogic. For an academic project, it will be a good choice.
    Use other Open Source tools for your Web Service development and stay away from any vendor specific WS implementation.
    Good Luck

  • Axis Web Services with Orabpel and jBoss

    I have installed orabpel_2.0.11_JBOSS_win32.exe and am just trying to integrate some Axis1.1-Web-Services into the processes.
    So I installed the axis web application within the server under .../deploy/webapps/axis.war and it is deployed automatically as expected.
    The axis happiness-page looks very promissing, but when I try to request the wsdl for e.g. the Version-Service I get the following exception:

    ...... etc.
    I found a similar question in the web services forum but no solution to the problem. Is it possibly a library problem? Or a factory problem, because I saw something like
    set OB_JAVA_PROPERTIES="-Djavax.wsdl.factory.WSDLFactory=oracle.j2ee.ws.wsdl.factory.WSDLFactoryImpl"
    in the obsetenv.bat file.
    Any help? Because I don't want to write every wsdl by hand.
    Best regards, Norbert
